I did buy this bra using previous measurements, not realizing that I had lost weight and at least 1" on my measurements. So I shouldn't be surprised that it's a little big. I was surprised that the band is so snug, I can't believe I can barely get it to fit on the last hook. But I know it will stretch with wear, so it's not really a problem, but it does also make the underwires dig painfully into my skin. It has a beautiful design, hopefully it will look better when I can fill it out more.
I really need to give up on Curvy Kate. This color of this bra is absolutely gorgeous. I have the Petrol version. The inside of the cups is a deep purple. That's where the pros end. It doesn't tack at all. The cups are too shallow but that was no big surprise because I know this about CK. I'm between a 32/34 band and the 32 was good. I find CK bands very stretchy. In comparison to the Smoothie, they seemed to have fixed the problem of the top of the cup flipping out. The top of the cup on the Starlet has some sort of binding to help prevent it from rolling out.
The bra, first of all, is a stunner. It's satin overlay and lace detail is incredibly sexy: it's impossible to not feel sexy in this. I mistakenly ordered this in one size too big from my measured size of 28F, but there are no gaping problems (only when I hunch forward). In fact, on my bigger breast, it gives me a slight quadraboob. The underwires are definitely wide as they reach all the way under the armpit, but it isn't uncomfortable.
The pluses: - design is pretty, and the embellishments are quite flat, and not visible under clothing. - it's quite comfortable
he minuses: - inner cup fabric is soft, but plasticky, after a while it feels scratchy. - I'm not overall very pleased with the quality and the durability of this bra. I've had it for a few months, and I would have expected it to last better.
Love it!! I'm not really sure of my breast type, but I always have trouble filling the top of the cups in my bra (though looking at me it doesn't seem like I'm particularly full on the bottom). This bra fits nearly perfectly and is so comfortable - the gore lies flat, I fill out the cups, and nothing rubs, sticks, or pokes me.
For the curious, I tried this on under an American Eagle white t-shirt; you can see texture from the polka-dots sometimes, but other than that it's invisible.
Update 10/13/13: This bra no longer fits as it is too small in the cups. May be due to tissue migration.
This bra is not my actual size, it is at least one cup size too small. However, the band runs very loose, and I've come to realize that I prefer more snug bands.
What a stunning bra. I wish this would fit me, in fact, I find myself squeezing myself into it despite the many fit issues I have. Most pressingly, be aware that this style is VERY shallow. I am constantly rearranging, pulling the bra up again and scooping and swooping throughout the day. It really is terrible for projected breasts. The band was also much too large for me, though I'm usually a 28 so that's no surprise (I have had it altered). I didn't find the wires too wide though and it does produce a very nice Marie Antoinette-style cleavage. The shape would probably look nice on someone who wasn't too projected for it too. I would say the quality is very good and it is definitely beautiful looking. I cut off the bows on the straps, though, and I'd say it looks even better https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
This is such a gorgeous bra. It's pretty shallow, so my breasts can push it down over the course of the day (I have too much lower projection I guess). The cups are also REALLY thick. The wires are narrow in this range, which is different from a lot of CK bras. I like that, but if you need wider wires, it's not the bra for you.
It's really pretty, but I can't fill the cups all the way. The seafoam/pink color was prettier in person than on the sight. It has a lot of extra material on top. I guess I'm full on bottom and can't fill this out.
I don't think Curvy Kate works for me. At least not the Showgirls collection. This seems to flatten my boobs and push them out to the side. Which is a shame since it's such a beautiful bra.
The cup shape doesn't quite work for me. There's wrinkling in the upper mesh part of the bra. If I pull the cups up and to the center, the wrinkling goes away, which means I don't have enough upper tissue/projection to fill the cup.
Really bummed that this one did not work out for me. I have shallow breasts but somehow ended up with major quad boobs AND the worst orange-in-a-glass effect I have ever experienced of all the bras I've tried so far.
I love this bra, the band is tight and amazing, the straps are actually short enough for me and the style is classic cute, I might marry this model except I hear it's discontinued, hopefully I can find something similar to this in the future or my boobs will weep.
Really a bit too small.. Cups are not wide enough (excess tissue on the sides) and pretty shallow so my boobs almost get pushed under my chin https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> As they didn't have a bigger size available I did decide to keep it. Perhaps not the best idea, but it's so pretty and it was on sale (Brastop).
Think I'll mostly wear this in the bedroom, or perhaps more often if I lose some weight.
The model (pretty shallow cups, balcony) does suit my boob shape (close together, fuller on top). Despite being too small it's still pretty comfortable. Would like to find it in a bigger size!
Quite pleased with the fit of this bra, except that the straps are a bit too wide set. That's a recurring problem for me though. My boobs are quite close together and fuller on top - this bra definetely gives some cleavage. So maybe not for everyday wear.
As with most Curvy Kates, buy a larger cupsize than usual. Normally I'm more of an 32E, in CK I'm 32F, leaning towards 32FF.. I did get my normal band size (32/70) and this fits well. Haven't worn this bra much so can't comment on stretching / washing / wear and tear.
Currently this bra is on the small side and it gives some push, but not yet in the quad boob zone. As I haven't been able to excercise much (knee injury) I'm planning to get back to doing some sports - expect to lose a small amount of weight - it should fit perfectly then.
Band: pretty firm. I have 26" ribcage and it feels nice and snug. Cups: underwires are not very curved, and the cups are pretty shallow. The lace details on the cups show under tight or thin shirts. The center gore is wide.
Technically this bra "fits" other than maybe a tad too wide gores, but something doesn't seem right on me.. Not quite sure but perhaps it's the shape.
