"What would you tell a friend with similar boobs about this bra?" For full-on-top shallow boobs, it's hard to tell when this bra no longer fits until it's 2 or more cups too small. Since it is quite open on top, it doesn't cut into breast tissue in the traditional sense. Rather, it spills over the top when the cup is too small. I would recommend this to somebody who is between cup sizes.
Well, in this case, I actually think that this bra is a very good bra! The material is soft, the straps are nice and stretchy, and it's very beautiful (in Silver/Black). I like the straps a lot - having firm unstretchy straps are a pain.
What I really dislike about this bra is that it shows through clothing because the upper lace is so darn thick. Some people recommend removing the lace, but I would rather not compromise the aesthetics of the bra.
I always heard that the showgirl bras run small in the cup, but I find that to be more true of the Tease Me (haven't tried the Thrill Me) than of the Fleurty, which seems to run more true to size. Someone suggested that that could be because of the higher cups in the Fleurty, so I measured the Fleurty against the Tease me in 28G and 28F. For the 28G, I came up with 5 3/8" (Tease Me) vs. 5 6/8" (Fleurty). For the 28F, I got 4 5/8" (Tease Me) vs 4 7/8" (Fleurty). The Fleurty certainly seems to be consistently higher in the cups, though ...that alone doesn't necessarily prove or disprove anything. Either way, I find that I need a larger cup size in the Tease Me than in the Fleurty, so I wouldn't recommend sizing up for this bra like you would for the other showgirl bras. Of the two bras, I vastly prefer the Fleurty. It gives a lovely rounded shape (I notice that the lace/ribbon on the top of the Tease Me can give the impression of a flattened band across an otherwise round silhouette) with beautiful half moon cleavage, though I would prefer a tiny bit more lace overhang at the top to smooth the transition from bra to skin (the Tease Me does this pretty well). Also, I find that the Fleurty makes a better (though not great) t-shirt bra than does the Tease Me, thanks to the relatively finer detailing on the lace and its fuller coverage over the surface of the bra as opposed the more noticeable lace/ribbon band on the Tease Me.
This particular size is too small for me by a couple sizes, but I don't find the bra to be uncomfortable. Take that with a grain of salt, if you will, since, as sensitive as my skin may be in other ways, I seem to be relatively insensitive to bra discomfort.
The band on the Fleurty is very stretchy (I would probably be happier in a 26 band here, if they made one) and might be more comfortable for people who are new to their correct band sizes and find them to be more unpleasantly constricting than they're used to. There are a lot of complaints about the gore on the showgirl bras, the Fleurty included, but I only found it mildly uncomfortable at first and ended up getting used to it fairly quickly. Now it doesn't bother me at all. That said, I found it more noticeable on the smaller cup sizes, since the gore doesn't come up as high in those. The higher cup sizes, like my correctly sized 28G Fleurty, come up high enough in the gore to miss the more sensitive spot on my sternum that was being hit by the lower gore on the smaller cup sizes. Your mileage may vary, depending on your body proportions, relative sensitivity, etc. Read more 380 more words
So so pretty! I feel very sexy in this. But it's not right for me. 1. The strap placement is far too wide - the straps begin in my armpits and dig in when I move my arms. 2. It gives an odd silhouette from the side, very flat. I find this with all Curvy Kate, the cups are so shallow, which isn't right for me.
This bra is gorgeous. It's too small for me, and it's impossible to wear under clothing without people knowing you are wearing some sexy, sexy lingerie, but I love it. It's well made, the fabric is beautiful, the shape is nice and round, and it's quite comfy, even for being too big around and too small in the cup. If you can find a size that works for you, I highly recommend it.
The band feels tight in back, but the gore doesn't lay flat against my sternum. The top of the cup lies flush, but I don't fill the bottom center, the wires are a bit wide, but not overly so. The front rubs in the armpit when I move around.
Don't know about how the quality is long-term since I'm returning it to the store
The cups were too small, causing a pointy shape and serious quad-boob. The center gore didn't reach my sternum, and the band fit a bit snug on the first try. Can't account for quality long-term as it's going back to the store.
I'd say this bra runs about one size small in the cups and one or two sizes large in the band (it has a very stretchy band). I can't size down in the band, since it doesn't come in anything below a 28 band (would if I could), but it is wearable even as stretchy as it is. I've heard a lot about the showgirl bras (Tease Me, Thrill Me, Fleurty) being painful in the gore, but I think that might be more of a problem in the smaller cup sizes, since the gore comes up higher in the larger cup sizes and may bypass the sensitive, bony ...places on the sternum. For example, the gore on the 28F Tease Me is 2.5" high, while the gore on the 28G is just under 2.875" high. Personally, I find this bra to be very comfortable and I don't have a lot of padding on my ribcage. My biggest problem with this bra, which I otherwise like, is that the wide band of lace at the top of the cup (the one that the ribbon is laced through) can break up the roundness of the silhouette and give the appearance of a big, flat strip running across an otherwise round shape. It's possible, though, that this effect would diminish over time as the fabric relaxes. Read more 115 more words
This is a weird one. I think I'd be a 34HH/J in this style (as my larger boob is slightly spilling, but no entirely enough to need *need* a cup bigger). The band is quite firm, which is nice - despite being so thin at the clasp, it's extra wide under the arm with the boning, and thus still quite quite supportive. So I'd advice going with your upper band size, and a go down a cup.
But the cups are dissappointing. They are so stretchy, they really felt like they couldn't possibly do any work. If I tried to tighten the straps, the straps just stretched too, and just stretched them cup longer, instead of actually doing something about the fit.
I also feel like I didn't really 'get' the ruffles. They seemed sort of silly and in the way too me.
I really love this bra for it's beauty and design. It was one of my first purchases in trying to find the right fit. The band is slightly too large, but I can wear it on the tightest hook. The cup fits strangely. In most respects it is too small, but there is extra fabric at the top that stands up just a little higher than my breast tissue. I still wear it with a cami or with extremely low cut tops. I have side spillage because the cup is too small in the wires. I don't know if my current size that I now know to fit in Curvy Kate (34F) would fit better. Since this is more of a special occasion bra and not an everyday bra, I'm keeping it. It is a little uncomfortable to wear for more than a few hours because it cuts in at the armpit.
This is the first balconette I have tried that has fit me properly - with freya bras, I usually find that the wires are right for me but I don't fill the top of the cup.
It's a lot more sheer than I was expecting, but it is very lightweight and comfortable. The band also fits quite well, and is much smaller than the thrill me bra I have as well!
Oh. My. Gawd. This is the best fitting bra I've had yet!
FIT/COMFORT: The band is the perfect combination of stretchy and supportive on the loosest hook. The straps don't cut into my armpits or fall down my shoulders. The wires are comfortable even without breaking it in or washing it- no digging into my sternum or armpits. The gore tacks. My boobs feel 10 lbs lighter (which is apparently what they weigh, based on my boyfriend holding them up while I'm standing on a scale).
The cups have a smooth line- no wrinkling, gaping, or folding over at the ...bottom. I'm on my period right now, and despite having slightly larger boobs than normal, there's no quadboobing! The Fleurty must run large in the cups, because in Curvy Kate, usually I would need a 30HH (in the Thrill Me, for example).
LOOKS: The cleavage is spectacular- full and lifted, but not in the bad way, where it's up to my neck. The shape is lovely and sexy- lifted, round, front and center, perky yet natural, not pointy at all. (My breasts are full in the bottom). Nice projection- this bra is not as shallow and wide as other CK Showgirl bras. And it's really pretty on- the color scheme is cute and, well, flirty, without being gaudy.
This is a match made in bra heaven! Why on earth did CK discontinue this one? Read more 140 more words
This is a modified 28G-the center gore was taken in by the prior owner. Lucky for me, I'm sub-28 ribcage, so this is fantastic. Bra is comfy, I love the CK showgirls in general, and the only issue is minor orange in a glass. Thinking I may have migrated-looking at my measurements, I lost weight, over an inch off my band, and my boob size, not so much. So yeah, might be bigger than I thought. Anyhow, this is awesome, so glad I own it!
The band on this feels tight to me, but this is the first bra I've ever purchased that fits in the cups so I think it's probably normal. For comparison, I've been buying molded-cup 38Ds for some time. I don't have any problem with the wires poking and I'm happy with the height of the center gore. The seams are a little thick, so if I wear this under a thin T I'd definitely have to wear a tank top too. The straps are a little wide-set, but my shoulders are broad so they work. The only thing I'm not entirely pleased with is the shape, which seems to me to be a little pointy. I think I'm just not used to the shape a soft cup gives compared to a molded cup.
This bra actually fit extremely well. The quadboob, although present on my larger side, was ever so slight. Going up a cup size had me swimming in the cups. I'd say my larger side was only about 1/4 cup-size too large, just enough to be barely noticeable. That said, there was no way I was keeping this bra. It looks very pretty from the front, but the shape it gave me is one I particularly dislike. Sort of a downward-sloping pointiness that was incredibly unflattering, both on its own and underneath a shirt. I know that CK sometimes gives a pointy shape when a bra is too small ...in the cup, but even on my smaller side (which fit wonderfully) the same shape was evident. This just isn't the bra for me, given my personal preferences. The bra was mostly comfortable for the few minutes I wore it, though it did hit uncomfortably against my usual problem spot on one side of my rib cage. If I were keeping it, that might be easily fixed by bending the wires to accommodate the shape of my ribs. Read more 79 more words
Ordered this in a 28D. I love how this bra looks, but the cups were slightly too small in this size for me...I think. The lace just barely covers my nipples and has a tendency to flip down and just leave them exposed. If the cup was a bit higher I think it would fit perfectly, but I'm not sure! It's hard to tell with how the cups are cut on this bra. I ended up ordering a couple other Curvy Kate styles in 28DDs and I'm actually not sure if the cups will be perfect or too big on those because of how this bra is cut.
This bra is so pretty, I ordered it although I guessed the fit would not be good...
The wires are a little too narrow, just a little. The cups are the bigger problem right now though. They cut into the breast in the top, but are also empty in the pointiest part. Actually they create quite pointy shape. ETA: The wires also dig in in the center and are not very comfortable.
I´m going to do some alterations on this bra because I wanna keep it anyway!
EDIT1. The band in this bra runs small! I normally need 28, but this 30 is good for me.
The only real problem with this bra is that it gives a very pointy shape and there is empty fabric it the tips of the cups.
I´m really not sure if the wires are wide enough, but I think they are adequate. I´m going to alter the cups because I like this bra´s appearance so much. The cut is not good for me, so another size would not be good, I think. And there are not really other sizes left, I think they´re not producing this model anymore.
One thing that I really wonder. The straps don´t stretch much at all! It was a real surprise.
EDIT1. I have to say that the band runs snug! I normally need 28, and this 30 is tight enough for me even after some use. The band is not very stretchy, same thing with the straps.
Well I got sent this bra size on accident, but overall it is a very comfortable bra (when wearing on smallest hook to be closest to my normal 28 size) even though Ive only tried it on a couple of times, I think the cup may run a tad small but not a full cup size since Im on the larger side of a 28DD. The lace on the front sits very flat and it has a very pretty tan/gold color, the straps are thicker but not in a bad way and adjust well and sit steady.
