I wasnt expecting much with this bra because I havent had good luck with curvy kate in the past, but it was $15 with amazon prime so I decided to try it anyways. I'm very glad I did. It fits perfectly, the lace doesnt show up underneath most of my shirts, and has a nice round shape (not cone or wedge like). If you dont have shallow breasts, however, this bra is not for you. There is very little projection.
Also, if you want a nice bra for low cut tops, I wouldnt recommend it because it does nothing to give cleavage, just gives support. I actually found ...this as a plus because how curvy kate designs bras to create cleavage is not compatible with me.
Overall, it's a very pretty bra that feels wonderful on. No poking or chaffing, and the fabric for the straps is soft and just stretchy enough. My underbust is actually 27 in, but the band still felt nice and snug. I dont know how it will wear because I've only worn it a couple of times, but seems to be made well. Read more 81 more words
I really, really wanted to love this bra. It was the first 28 band I ordered. I got it off of Brastop for a good price and it seemed like a good place to start in looking for bras with bands that actually fit. Good: it is well made and the colours are more rich in person compared to the photos; it's very pretty and the ribbon detailing is so cute. The band fits wonderfully. I measure to a 26, and this 28 band is snug and does not move, but it is also fairly soft, so it isn't uncomfortable either. Bad: the wires are really wide and wrap around my sides. the cups seem very big for a 28d and I am nowhere near filling them; It looks like they are a full cupsize too big in every direction.
I really want to keep this bra, but the alterations to make it fit are just beyond my skillset.
I didn't find the band to be particularly stretchy. The hooks are wider than normal so Rixie clip or extenders with regular size won't work. The cups are padded, a bit thicker than the usual "lightly padded" bras. There are two vertical seams, and the shape seems to be promising for shallow busts. I had some gaps but it looks like the cups are smaller than other 28Ds. The wires are stiff and tall.
Fill out the bottom comfortably, but bra gapes at the top. There's a lot of empty space under where the straps join the cup, where I don't have any breast tissue. There's also a bit of gaping in the cups at the bottom centre near the gore, though I get a nice bit of cleavage further up.The band is very stretchy, and the last hook is slightly too loose.
As a person with kind of wide-set boobs, I actually wish the cups to be a little more separate. As the gore is very narrow and low, there is a little empty fabric near the gore. It is hard to notice though.
Curvy Kate has been known for having wide wires, but this saying is not true to the smaller cups. The Roxie has narrow wires in my size, but not that narrow as Freya Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) .
While the unpadded Curvy Kates usually do not work on smaller and shallower sizes, the Roxie is shallow friendly. If you have relatively shallow breasts and narrow roots, and really want a plunge bra, you should give it a try.
The Reddit ABraThatFit finder put me into this size, but it's definitely a cup too big; I was able to take about 3cm out of the cup edge and it hugged close to my boobs. I was super happy to take it off, the underwires dug into my sternum something fierce, but the rest seemed comfortable. I noticed a few loose threads, so I wouldn't say it's superhigh quality. Very different appearance between 28D and 40D pictures!
Seriously incredibly poor fit. The cup is a size too small, at best, and I do normally wear a 28DD. The side sling formed by the straps is pulled too tight, even when the straps are too loose. Despite that, the top edge gapes and the top portion of embroidered fabric wrinkles terribly. My breasts are forced into the center by the sides creating a cut-into quadboob effect which makes a terrible shape.
I wanted to love this bra. The pink and red combination make a lovely rosy color, and the mesh and lacing are so cute. It was just not a good fit. The underwires dug in really painfully at my sides and sternum. The band fit way too loosely. I clipped the band to try it tighter, and the lift was a little better at the cups. As is, my breasts just rested inside of the cups instead of being supported in any way. With a tighter band it could have passed as an uncomfortable bed room only bra.
Ugh! Well this one was definitely not for me! I heard that this bra might be good to try if some of the Mimi Holliday ones fit me well. Unfortunately, I must not be nearly full on top...or full enough in general to fit this.
The cups are definitely deep enough for a full 28D but only if you're reallly full on top and shallow near the bottom. Also, the wires are incredibly stiff and do not flex at all so if you require wide width wires at all, this will definitely not be forgiving to you at all and actually dig in (like it did to me) ...if you're too wide. The wire, especially on the outer sides of the cup, turn inwards and up fast like a sharp C shape so it helps if you have much more narrower roots and a narrower build overall.
The bra is an incredibly pretty and gorgeous color but the shape definitely did not fit me. It definitely assured me that I need some projection on bottom and I am way more FoB than I thought. Read more 76 more words
It's really pretty, but I can't fill the cups all the way. The seafoam/pink color was prettier in person than on the sight. It has a lot of extra material on top. I guess I'm full on bottom and can't fill this out.
Band: pretty firm. I have 26" ribcage and it feels nice and snug. Cups: underwires are not very curved, and the cups are pretty shallow. The lace details on the cups show under tight or thin shirts. The center gore is wide.
Technically this bra "fits" other than maybe a tad too wide gores, but something doesn't seem right on me.. Not quite sure but perhaps it's the shape.
Bottom of cup is very shallow, I measure 28D/DD and the bottom of my breast cannot fill the shallow bottom of the molded cup. I might need to size up. Because of this, bra slips down and bottom of underwire digs into my chest.
Cups are molded with a lot of projection at the front and center of the bra.
First word: COMFY. Even with the underwire going rather high up my side and poking a bit, this is probably the most comfortable bra I've ever tried. It's like wearing a pillow, or something.
A fair amount of padding lines the cup, two vertical seams instead of one like the rest of my bras. Definitely gives a 'boost'! It's very shallow at the bottom, so anyone who needs immediate projection should steer clear, but this works for anyone shallow or soft enough to be, uh, molded.
The wires on this bra are incredibly narrow, and the cups seem to move straight up from the apex. Goodness this is a confusing bra. Really pretty, but I would need much narrower, taller breasts for it to fit anything close to right.
C-. The band was comfortable, but the cups gapped like crazy, the wire on my smaller boob side dug into my ribs so bad, and the gore was so painful. Not a good fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
This bra is so pretty! Seems to run true to size. The band and straps fit great, but the band seems kinda stretchy. I am between cup sizes, and would need to go up a cup for more coverage. The wires seem to run slightly narrow. The top of this bra is pretty open, so even though the cup was overall too small, it still gapped at the top. I would recommend this to others if they could find the right fit.
This is the first Curvy Kate bra I've tried on. I think the band is slightly too loose. My underbust is 27, and if they made 26s I think I would prefer that, but it isn't horrible. I think the wire width is good, but digs in at the sternum. I wish the cups were more molded, since I think this bra has the potential to give me a really good shape it the cups were less floppy, but at the moment, I'm not sure if it is too deep, too small, or too large in the cups.. Also, the lace, while beautiful, stands out from my breasts-- touching the lace would require some major quad boob!
This bra is a touch too small - I get minor quadboob. I should probably move up to a 28DD, but I don't fancy paying for shipping to exchange again.
This bra is super comfy, and I am so excited to have a non-lacy bra that doesn't show through my shirts. The band is sufficiently tight and the cups are just a touch too narrow for me, but not enough to be annoying. I like it a lot.
Looks like you and I had the same experience in this bra. The cups run really large. I'd say this bra is more typical of 28E!
