The midnight blue tempt me is absolutely gorgeous! I love the colour. I would like to point out some inconsistencies with the sizing. The "height" of the blue cups are the same as the height of the coral cups, but there is more "depth" and it is slightly rounder- not flatter. The blue is "wider" comparable most similar in width to their older sizes in 28G. So this means you don't need to go up as many cups, and you'll get a better fit because the cups will not be as high.
The blue is cut nicer- I have no complaints about the sewing. The cups are angled slightly closer in the center https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Unfortunately, this bra feels too big for me when I move around because of the added width and depth, I will be exchanging it for a 28F in this colour https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> And will sorely miss the 3 hooks on FF+ https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I am not going to lie. I'm utterly disappointed with how this this bra is made compared to the 28F I have. You can read that review here: http://bra.pe/RB4w/
It seems like the quality is not as good. The padding is a lot softer, but it wrinkles easier thus there is no way it would support a larger bust if it's flimsy and gross. I am also disappointed with the stitching and the lace. While everything is tucked in nicely and just sewed better overall in the 28F, the 28FF clearly shows that the stitching was made differently. The sides of the ...cups are overly surged in my opinion and I am disappointed that the lace does not look as good. The straps are crazy thick, and the cups don't hold shape very well. I also think the cups are excessively tall compared to the 28F.
The fit on this bra is much better though, but no cleavage.
Update: After wearing this bra for a day, I noticed that the cups really wanted to slide down on me, showing that the bottom of the cups seem to be a bit shallow since my boobs want to push it down, even though I think the bra looks quite large on me in height >=( Ugh.
Another update: After bringing the cups closer together and the straps, I find that the bra provides much better comfort, and I'm reaching for it pretty much every other day in my drawer :3 As long as I don't look at how tragically prettier the 28F is, I am pretty satisfied with this one. I tried this on in a 28G and had all kinds of issues. I was hoping the 28FF would be the answer to my problems, but it wasn't. The band was firmer than the G was, so that was an improvement, but as soon as I swoop and scooped I had major quad boob. I still had a bit of an issue with the wrinkling of the bottom of the cups, but that wasn't as bad - seems to be a shape issue rather than a size thing. The cups didn't stretch as much as they did on the G, so the width was no longer an issue. The straps were still a bit wide and cut into the front of my armpits. I also got a pointy shape with the bra, which wasn't ideal. Based on this, trying the Princess in a 28G, and trying the CK Lottie, I'm giving up on Curvy Kate.
Oh Curvy Kate. What a love/hate relationship we have. I love the look of your bras, and you love selling bras. I hate the way most of your bras fit, and your bras just don't get along well with my boobs.
I have this Curvy Kate Emily in a beautiful navy/blush color. It is a STUNNING bra. The fabric and the lace is soft, and the construction of the cups feels well done. I think the mixture of sheer and opaque fabric is very sexy. I also love that it has three hooks in the back--the band feels very secure. I found the band to fit pretty true to ...size, and was comfortable on the loosest hooks.
Unfortunately, the cups were really the problem. I likely just prefer a more up front look to my bras, but I didn't find the very wide set cup construction to be very flattering. Even with the bra tucked right under the boobs, the band comfortably under my shoulder blades, and all swooped and scooped in, I felt like my boobs were sitting rather low and apart. Though I think you can see it in the photos, the photos do not do justice to how low and wide it felt. I still have some confusion about whether I have wide set boobs or not, or a wide or narrow root (please feel free to weigh in!), but whatever I am, combined with being bottom heavy and fairly soft and squishy, it all didn't combine well for the shape of these cups. My breasts seemed to want to sit more up front than the bra allowed, and I didn't fill the sides of the cup well, and quad-boobed up front.
The quad boob is definitely a large issue-- you can see that one of the breasts is nearly busting out, the other is just grumbling against the lace edging a little bit. It very well may be that I just need to size up in the cups of the Emily bra and it will magically fit, but I have some concern about the already wide underwires then being still wider in the larger cup size and the bra still being uncomfortable. As can be seen from the side photos, I don't think the wires could stretch further back without starting to wrap around my back.
Additionally, because Curvy Kate straps are set so wide, I also am not sure that I could size up in the cup and then just shorten the straps to make up for any slack (which I think I would definitely need to do for my smaller breast...damn, calling it smaller so often makes it seem like the gimpy one). Shortening these straps seems to do nothing to help with the central integrity of the cup, and instead sort of dumps everything into the middle.
I might try this in a 28G, but I'm not feeling particularly hopeful. My Curvy Kate Princess in a 28G was decidedly too big, and the 28FF fits so long as I have the straps appropriately cinched up. I really do like this bra, but find the overall shape and fit to be challenging. Read more 417 more words
Yet another failed Curvy Kate experiment. Given that no brick and mortar retailers ANYWHERE near me sell Curvy Kate, I'm stuck buying sale items online, all over the map, without a real clue as to what will fit. So far, I have struck out in every line and every size.
Aside from my fruitless process of elimination, this is a great bra. It's in the light blue/plum colorway, which is quite charming. Thrill Me also seems to be one of the more accessible bras (read: day-wearable) of the Showgirl line, since its embellishments - a soft mesh ruffle and embroidered line and ribbon across the ...top of the cup - are not as prominent and less likely to show under clothes than, say, the Tease Me's lace, ruffles, bows, ribbons, etc. The construction of this bra is fantastic, and it provides gravity-defying lift and great cleavage. That said, since it is at least a cup-size too small, I feel like I am always on the verge of literally popping out of this bra. The top edge of the cup seems to land juuuuust shy of nipple level, and only a bit of arm-raising or bending down will lead to escape.
I wonder if this would have fit if it were a 28G or GG. C'est la vie. Read more 115 more words
This bra was pretty, but it didn't suit my shape (wide root, full on bottom). I couldn't fill out the top, so there was major wrinkling. The center gore hurt as well, but if I'd decided to keep it I probably could have bent the wires out and made it work. The band felt good.
This was the first bra I ordered in my proper size, so I didn't expect it to fit quite right. It ended up being totally wrong for my shape, which is a shame because it's a really pretty bra.
Pros: The band has three hooks, which I love. I felt like it reduced the bulging that sometimes comes with bands that have less than three hooks. It's really pretty! The lace is beautiful, and the bows are super cute. The gore tacks. The shoulder straps are nice and sturdy, and the bra feels really well constructed.
Cons: Again, it's just all wrong for my shape. I found out ...that I need much narrower wires than these. It would probably be great for someone who needs wide wires, though. The gore is too wide. It wasn't painful or anything, but it was sitting on some breast tissue in the middle. The band seems to stretch out easily. I knew that before I got it, but I wanted to put it here so others would know. I got bad quad-boob on my left (bigger) side, and some gapping on my right side (all after scooping and swooping). This is the most uncomfortable bra I've tried on so far, in all sizes. I tried everything from 28F through 28GG (28G was a pretty much perfect fit) and all of them were downright painful where the underwires touched my ribs, especially on my left side. It's entirely possible that bending the wires to conform to my shape would have alleviated the problem, but I didn't try that since I wasn't keeping any of the bras. It's too bad that this bra didn't work out for me, even in the correct size, because I like the overall design and it looks so pretty from the front. I just wasn't a fan of the shape it gave as viewed from the side (too pointy for me). The band was nice and tight; in fact, it seemed a bit tighter than any of the other Curvy Kate balconettes I've tried. Moreover, it was the only CK balconette that fit my shallow shape. I wish it had worked for me.
This just ran a little small on me. I love me CK Showgirls, but this is an older model, and I think it runs smaller than average. I need a 28G in this one for sure. Cute bra, though.
The 28FF is too small, I probably need at least at 28GG - but it looks like the shape of the plunge will work for me which would be great as I don't have much luck with them. The straps are fully adjustable and the band has three hooks. The cups are padded. The bra was very comfortable on.
I love the look of this bra but the 28FF is unfortunately too small for me - think I'll need a 28G or 28GG. But even with too small cups the bra is very comfy. The cups are padded and it's actually padded not lined. The straps are connected with a triangular piece of fabric that seems to give more lift and are fully adjustable. The decoration of the bra is not very noticeable under a tight shirt. The band is comfortable and has three hooks.
For whatever reason, I prefer the fit of my blue/pink Thrill Me. The cups on this white one seem to jut out more or they are a little bigger.
Other than that, it is the same. It's a super comfy bra, rather stretchy but gives good support and a nice shape. The frills make it hard to wear with some tops. I really like the elastic straps and the wide band.
This was way way too small in the cups for me, so I can't comment on the fit.
The quality on this bra is amazing though. I love the material and design and the details are great. It also feels very comfortable, even while it's too small!
I've heard mixed things about CK bras, that they don't work for some people. I must be made for them since this is my best fitting and most comfortable bra. I got this is in my normal size and it fits fine, I could probably wear a 28G in the white version which seems to have smaller cups. The bra itself is silky and so pretty! I have it in blue and white. The band is fine on me. I seem to be inbetween 28 and 30, so a loose 28 works fine on me.
The cups are shallow and wide which is just what I need. This ...bra gives me a great uplifted look and puts all my tissue up where I need it. It gives me a lovely round shape. I do like the three hooks, it feels secure. The straps are also so comfortable and don't fall down like other bras.
My only issue is the lacey details make it unwearable with some tops. I can also see how the underwires may make some women uncomfortable. I don't know how to describe, they kind of come away from the body. They never bother me however.
I will continue to find CK bras since they work so well on me. Read more 103 more words
Cute print, but a horrendous bra! Band is HUGE, under-wire comes up way too high which pokes horribly in the sternum making the whole bra stick out from my chest and look awkward :'( Scared to try more of this brand
Purchased from Figleaves November 2012 for 44 USD, selling on bareneccesities in the US for $68!
Disclaimer: I have a 28 1/2" rib cage and wear 28 bands instead of sizing up to 30F.
I got this bra as part of a great Curvy Kate haul at brastop.com recently. Sadly it seems that tis one is getting discontinued, but I would snap it up if you can find it in your size.
Pros: beautiful bra with light padding for modesty, nice push-up effect, beautiful color/detail
Cons: straps were slightly too far apart for my taste despite going for my smaller band size (took a while to adjust them well enough that they weren't slipping/too tight), detailing toward the bottom of cups creates show through if you intend on using this bra under clingy tops
As far as comfort, I wore this bra for a few full days and aside from the slight strap issue I was having, it was very comfortable while giving the boost my un-lined/un-padded Curvy Kate bras don't quite have.
Disclaimer: I have a 28 1/3"-28 1/2" rib cage so I opted for 28 bands instead of going up to a 30F.
I have only worn this bra twice so far, but it seems like a keeper. The second wear was during a 9 hour work shift with lots of upper body movement, and it held up amazingly. The band felt a bit tight at first but seemed stretchy so I ditched my back extender for the day (if the band were maybe 1/4 inch longer it would be perfect) and wore on the loosest hook. The straps stayed in place despite lots of lifting of the arms/shoulder movement and the cups stayed in place. Great support for a pretty, un-moulded bra that didn't show through my button down top. I can see this one becoming a favorite.
Measurements for this bra: Stretched band: 81cm Band length: 60 cm Cup width: 14 cm Cup depth: 21 cm Wire length: 25 cm Cup sep.: 2 cm Strap width: 2 cm Hooks: 3
Looks: The bra is pretty though I could do without the frill above the lace. The look it gives is not as front and center as my Ewa Michalak but is still nice. I'm pretty bottom heavy so the boobs on a plate look doesn't really happen for me. There was a little gapping on top (I think from ...the top of the cup being a smidge wide) but I tightened the ribbon up a tiny bit and that fixed that issue. The wrinkles are cosmetic and I don't think I've seen a Thrill Me without them.
Fit: The band is loose for a 28 but since it is taller (3 hooks vs 2 hooks) it seems more stable. The band is mesh and comfy. For a great fit I should probably use a tighter hook as it would pull the wire a little wider but since there is no smaller band I leave it on the loosest hook. The bottom of the cup is pretty shallow and the wires are wide - which works for me as I have a pretty wide root. The longer wire (in comparison to my 28F Cleo Lucy, 28F Deco Half-cup, and 65FF EM CH Lato) really works for me as it keeps my side boob from escaping above the cup. The straps are completely adjustable.
I wore it to work and it was comfy all day. I didn't really need to readjust very often as the longer wire was able to keep my boobs contained.
This bra is absolutely beautiful! Material is silky smooth with absolutely no discomfort, has got to be the least itchiest bra I have ever owned. Unfortunately, the cups wrinkled on me, I have had this problem with Curvy Kate bras before and I'm not sure why. Definitely would have needed to go atleast one cup size down.
The band is quite firm when being worn but can be stretched out quite a bit. Felt like a snug 28 for me. Might have even debated going up to a 30 to be honest! This bra is definitely of high durability, I can not stop raving about this bra! I will be repurchasing it in my size! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
(My one had 'Portia' written and crossed out on the label as shown in the pictures, only issue with it which to be fair isn't really an issue if you're looking for a good fitting supportive bra!)
