The straps on this bra dug into my shoulders. I could barely keep it on long enough to try it on. It's a very attractive bra. I had the same problem with the 28FF Curvy Kate Emily. That one, an unpadded balconette, also gave me an east-west and downward pointing look. I've decided not to try any more Curvy Kate bras.
This bra is more beautiful in person than I expected, but I found out that the cups are too tall for my body.
The band is quite snug and very comfortable. This is my first three hook band that I've tried, and I really like the support it gives. I like the other CK bra bands I've tried in 2 hooks as well, but the 3 hooks just feel firm around my 27 in ribcage. The bra is in indigo and wine and the colors are just beautiful together. The bow in the center is a little big and looks a little awkward, but not too much.
The top ...of the cup is a sheer mesh with a pretty wine colored embroidered edge. The bottom is opaque satin-y and feels sturdier than the top. The straps are pretty thick compared to the bras that I am used to, but it feels comfortable and supportive. They were located at a good position. The cups came right under my arms to encase the tissue from my armpits.
Now, this bra is a terrible style for me. I seem to have pretty balanced breasts that I thought were full on bottom, but if they're held up, I can see where the tissue goes pretty high on my chest. Yet, the top of my chest is pretty empty. I think I'm actually semi full on top. Either way, I do not have the tissue to fill the top of this bra, or any others with a similar shape or height, so there was a lot of wrinkling at the top of this bra. The shape it gave me is very natural looking without a shirt, but it was quite pointy or torpedo shaped with a shirt on. I got a little bit of quadboob when I put my shoulders back (making it more evident that it's just not the shape for me even if I go a cup size lower). The seem where the mesh meets the opaque material is a little thick and would show under a tight t-shirt.
Overall, this is a very lovely bra, and it feels quite sturdy and seems like it could give some good support, but is not suited for my breasts. Read more 267 more words
The underwires aren't long enough within their casing, which causes the very top of the center gore to push out forward. I'm getting the same wrinkling on the bootom of my right boob as with my black daily boost. For a t-shirt bra, it'll do.
can't quite fill the bottom of these, there's a bit of wrinkling on my right. otherwise, i'm really happy with this bra and am waiting for the nude version of it in the mail. bf calls this the neoprene bra, makes a great everyday t-shirt bra.
the center bow fell off the third day i wore it. haven't bothered to resew it back on.
edit: i bought a second one of these, same color, and the cup is a smidge smaller. i'm getting a quad boob effect that i didn't get with the first one. i don't know if it needs to stretch out, but if it doesn't, it'll go up for sale. same wrinkling effect on right boob.
it is gorgeous! fits well with normal posture, top of cups dig in when i push my shoulders back. the top lace detail is not stretchy. not too fond of the crystal detail because i already feel like i'll lose it, but this is a special occasion bra, so it won't have many chances to drop off. the matching brief also has the same crystal detail.
This is the first bra that I have bought in the correct size. The back is lovely and firm on the loosest hook and the cups fit perfectly. When I first tried the bra on the centre gore dug in slightly but with a bit of breaking in it feels fine. The shape the bra gives is very natural looking maybe a little bit pointy but not enough for me to send it back. The straps aren't fully adjustable which isn't a problem for me but could be for some. This is my first Curvy Kate and I'm definitely going to buy some more!
Had a pretty firm band, so that was a major plus. I was hopeful based on that, but shape was a bit off for me and that was made much worse by the straps being way too wide. Just trying it on for five minutes resulted in pain from it cutting into the front of my armpits. If I pulled my shoulders back and stood with perfect posture, it didn't cut in nearly as much, but every time I relaxed, it cut in a painful amount and the distortion changed the shape of the cup and made the top of it no longer fit. It also gave me a bit up a pointy/torpedo look, which was not ideal.
Cute bra! I had some major fitting issues with it though. The 28 band seemed to stretch a lot and I was easily able to hook it on the tightest hook, and pull it away substantially from my back, whereas the 28 I just bought from Freya was a nice, tight fit on the loosest wire but the initial band length was the same. The wires seemed to do a lot of stretching - they expanded to be almost on my back, which then caused the side of the cup to cut into the front of my arm. This was pretty uncomfortable and also changed the shape of ...the cup, make the fit even worse. The gore fit pretty well on my sternum, but sat a little on top of my boob on one side. I only tried it on long enough to evaluate size and take pictures, but it didn't seem to poke into my sternum. I adjusted the straps to try and help fix the fit, but they wound up just hurting my shoulders, though they weren't visibly digging in. Lastly, I experienced a some wrinkling in the very bottom of the cups. This bra might work for me if I go a cupsize down, provided the wires don't stretch as much as this one does. I definitely need something with a firmer band since a 26 isn't available. Read more 123 more words
Like any Curvy Kate bra with a small band, the underwire dug into my sternum in a painful way when I tried this on. I used a cotton pad to counteract this effect but the cups were too large anyway. Other than that, the straps and band were just right. No discomfort under my arms and it's a very cute style.
I really like this bra, but unfortunately cannot speak to its accurate fit, because the size I currently have is a little too large in the cups. The band is a great fit, and I like the results of having three hooks in the back. I imagine the cups would be great, if they were the right size.
The fabric, when its brand new, is a little bit scratchy. I don't find this to be as much of an issue with the bra as it is with the panties. I expect this would soften with time, however.
I'd say this bra runs about one size small in the cups and one or two sizes large in the band (it has a very stretchy band). I can't size down in the band, since it doesn't come in anything below a 28 band (would if I could), but it is wearable even as stretchy as it is. I've heard a lot about the showgirl bras (Tease Me, Thrill Me, Fleurty) being painful in the gore, but I think that might be more of a problem in the smaller cup sizes, since the gore comes up higher in the larger cup sizes and may bypass the sensitive, bony ...places on the sternum. For example, the gore on the 28F Tease Me is 2.5" high, while the gore on the 28G is just under 2.875" high. Personally, I find this bra to be very comfortable and I don't have a lot of padding on my ribcage. My biggest problem with this bra, which I otherwise like, is that the wide band of lace at the top of the cup (the one that the ribbon is laced through) can break up the roundness of the silhouette and give the appearance of a big, flat strip running across an otherwise round shape. It's possible, though, that this effect would diminish over time as the fabric relaxes. Read more 115 more words
This is a modified 28G-the center gore was taken in by the prior owner. Lucky for me, I'm sub-28 ribcage, so this is fantastic. Bra is comfy, I love the CK showgirls in general, and the only issue is minor orange in a glass. Thinking I may have migrated-looking at my measurements, I lost weight, over an inch off my band, and my boob size, not so much. So yeah, might be bigger than I thought. Anyhow, this is awesome, so glad I own it!
This bra actually fit extremely well. The quadboob, although present on my larger side, was ever so slight. Going up a cup size had me swimming in the cups. I'd say my larger side was only about 1/4 cup-size too large, just enough to be barely noticeable. That said, there was no way I was keeping this bra. It looks very pretty from the front, but the shape it gave me is one I particularly dislike. Sort of a downward-sloping pointiness that was incredibly unflattering, both on its own and underneath a shirt. I know that CK sometimes gives a pointy shape when a bra is too small ...in the cup, but even on my smaller side (which fit wonderfully) the same shape was evident. This just isn't the bra for me, given my personal preferences. The bra was mostly comfortable for the few minutes I wore it, though it did hit uncomfortably against my usual problem spot on one side of my rib cage. If I were keeping it, that might be easily fixed by bending the wires to accommodate the shape of my ribs. Read more 79 more words
The size is only a hair small... but the biggest problem is that the cups are too far apart for me - even though I narrowed the center gore. What a shame! It is such a beautiful bra.
This is my favorite bra! I have it in three sizes (28G, 28FF, 28F), two of which are too small, because I didn't return a couple of earlier orders like I should have. Nevertheless, I can wear all three sizes without having obvious quad-boob underneath my shirt, since the design of the bra manages to work with my breast shape/density to minimize (28F) or completely hide (28FF) the size problems. Although not by any means a t-shirt bra, I regularly wear it under heavier, patterned t-shirts and it gives a very nice, rounded shape from the front and sides. I've heard a lot of complaints about the gore ...painfully hitting the sternum, but didn't find it to be that much of a problem, even though I don't have much padding on my rib cage (for reference, I'm 5'9" and 125lbs). Also, I only noticed a problem with the gore on the too-small bras. Once I sized up to the 28G, the gore didn't bother me at all. I assume that's because the gore was high enough to not hit the bony spot that was causing discomfort in the other sizes. I think this bra makes my breasts look amazing, both under clothing and on its own. If you have shallow breasts, this is definitely a bra to try. Oh, and if you have nickel allergies you will probably have to replace the rings on the back of the bra (the ones that connect the straps to the bra), since they do contain nickel. Of course, if you're only mildly allergic or don't wear the bra very much, then you might not have a problem. Read more 166 more words
I think this bra material is extremely comfortable but it has its proportions severely wrong! The cups are so very wide that they wrap around almost to my back. The center gore is also so very wide - I swear the inner underwires were on breast tissue. However, since this is my only "28G" bra, it's the only one I have with 3 hooks and it's nice! Not sure if I prefer it over 2 hooks, but I am very happy happy to have a 3-hook bra in my collection for certain days..
My regular size is a 28F and I am fairly certain that ...the 28G cups may be a bit too small for me. Not enough that there is grotesque quadboob, but let's just say I wouldn't wear this when I am PMS-ing.
I altered the center gore probably an inch to bring the cups as close as possible, but still, the cups extend so far back. I like it better now and I'm keeping it for looks and comfort. Surprisingly, it makes a good T-shirt bra also! Read more 77 more words
This bra didn't fit me at all. The cups left me with a lot of overspill and the band was too loose, as is always the case for me with Curvy Kate Showgirl bands. I'm not sure how many sizes I would have had to go up but I didn't attempt it as the shape is all wrong for me. The cups are shallow and the seaming didn't create the rounded shape I prefer. The straps are also too wide-set - a common problem with Showgirl if you have narrow shoulders. I wasn't a massive fan of the glitzy thread used in it as I felt the overall look was a bit cheap rather than classy. Not a bra for me.
