This a super cute bra that gives great shape (even though I quad boob when the center gore is laying flat). I'm in between sizes and my measurements don't seem to quite add up to a "correct" size so trying this in a 32J was just to see if weight loss worked. I tried on a HH cup (not sure of the band) once and I spilled out of the front with the center gore not touching me at all but it almost seemed that I could have worn that ill-fitting size better than this ill-fitting size.
When I first put this bra on it looks good, but after I move around a bit it does the quad boob thingy and just has a horrible shape. Doesn't seem supportive enough in the lower part and it digs in everywhere with the underwire.
It's very cute, but from what I've experienced and read, the ribbon detailing causes the cups to cut in at the top a bit. As the cups are too small, the wires dig into my boobs painfully. The band on mine seems to have deteriorated a bit as I was out of baby shampoo and thought I could get away with adult shampoo.... That's a no no, don't do it! Oh, I was also surprised by how flimsy and thin it felt when I put it on, but it most certainly gets the job done!
Just an FYI....The Portia in Sea Foam, the bra pictured, is IMO defective. I had the same bra, same color, hand washed using Soak and it still began running, as yours did. From what I was told, that was common with that particular color. I was given a full refund and exchanged it for a different Curvy Kate bra. I don't know if Adult Shampoo is good or bad, but it definitely did not cause the deterioration.
This bra is absolutely B-You-tiful!!! I wanted this bra to fit sooo bad because of that, (and I also didn't want to pay return shipping/stocking fee) I am sad to say that this bra was quite uncomfortable because it didn't fit me. I know that I have broad shoulders, however this bra's straps are VERY wide set, they actually fall off my shoulders if I wear it properly. I pull the straps closer in , which actually leads to gapping on the top part of the cup. The cups are on the wide side as well, however I do tend to need narrower cups so they may be of a slightly wider than normal cup. Also I have found with Curvy Kate if you are in between band sizes to get the smaller band and go up one-two cup sizes, this bra runs a little truer to size but you still may want to go one cup size larger.
I bought this bra on clearance at an amazing price, with fingers crossed that it would fit. I was really hoping once I tried Emily in the correct size, she would work for me. I've flipped back and forth between thinking the cups were to small (because once I scooped and swooped, I'd have a bit of quadri-boob) to thinking the cups were too big because the lacy tops of the cups would wrinkle and feel a bit loose/empty when I was sitting or leaning my body forward a bit. The band is a bit snug for me, and at times the place where the underwires meet dig ...into my sternum, but it's something I can live with from a new bra.
I've decided that my problem with Emily is that to get decent shape and to fill out the cups properly, I have to tighten the straps as short as they go, and doing this means the sides of the cups come up high under my armpits and painfully dig in. Also, I get a square boob-profile, and not much uplift.
I would maybe try an 32HH to solve these problems, but I don't have high hopes that it would give me a more rounded shape, I think the cut of the bra is just not for me sadly. Read more 110 more words
This is a lovely bra but not the right shape for me, back is reasonably firm but cups are slightly small, this was too small for me and I am usually a 32HH/J
