The scalloped lace along the top and bottom of the band, as well as on the top of the cups is very pretty, but I can't bear to leave this bra on for even 10 minutes. I have other bras by Fantasie, and they are all scratchy, but this one is by far the worst! I sister-sized this for what I normally wear. (32F UK fits me best in most brands, but the calculator always overestimates me at 32FF). I won't bother to try again in another size.
Otherwise, as for fit, it was really really close to ...perfect. There was minimal quadding at the gore on my larger side, and minimal gapping on my smaller side. Yes, the band was a little snug, but the way Fantasie bands seem to stretch so quickly, I would have used an extender until it relaxed. The only thing I didn't like about the style is the super tall gore. It wanted to float, not for the cups being too small but because the gore sat on my close-set breast tissue. If it had been shorter (my comfortable height limit is 2"), it would have been fine. The shape it gave was somewhat pointy. No torpedoes, but not rounded either. Sacrificed lift because of it. Based on measurements, I thought this bra would fit well. However, it just seems all wrong. Despite being a balcony, it seems too tall - gore, cup, decorative lace/netting transition from cup to strap. It just felt like too much in a lot of ways.
This bra almost fit, it was a little large in the cups but the band fit well. The gore, however, was very painful, it came up very high and pressed against my sternum uncomfortably.
I bought this used on eBay, so it’s a bit stretched out. However, it’s extremely comfortable! I’m slightly fuller on top, average projection, and I often have problems with gaping on top in t-shirt bras. No more! This bra encompasses me perfectly, no spillage or gaps. It also doesn’t show under shirts and is comfortable enough to wear all day long!
Everything fits great and is great quality except for the cups being too tall and straps too wide apart for me, but if the cups were lower, the strap separation would be fine.
My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots. Special thanks to MamaPagan for sending me this bra (and many others!) to try on! She actually threw this in the box for my sister to try on, so I can't really review the fit of this as well as it's much too small for me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Appearance: The royal blue color of this bra is so pretty! The fabric is a stiff, embroidered lace. The embroidery travels up the straps, too. There is a thin piece of blue elastic at the top of the cups, and a tiny gem charm on the gore. This bra is super pretty! Hopefully it fits my sister! If not, I'll offer it as a giveaway here.
Allegra 30FF I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.
Allegra is an underwire, unpadded side support bra. I got it in electric blue.
The band measures 25” to a max 34.75” with 2 hooks and 3 rows of eyes.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 10”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 10.75”
I feel ...these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
The cup material is quite stiff. It feels very scratchy, but may soften with wash and wear.
I bought this bra as it was incorrectly labeled on eBay as 30H both US and UK, but was in fact a 30FF UK, making it too small in the cup. Disappointing as it is gorgeous in color.
I ordered this in my band size (30) and three different cup sizes (F, FF, G). My usual cup size is G, but like others have mentioned, there was a lot of wrinkling at the top. The FF seemed to fit the best, but there was still some wrinkling at the top while the underwire didn't caress my intramammary fold. The F was certainly too small. The band was firm and the gore tacked perfectly, but the high apex of the gore dug into my sternum so that after an hour it had left a painful red imprint.
This is a bizarre bra--how could the designers have invented something so unsuited to the human breast without realising it? Needless to say, they're all going back.
A basic, everyday bra, beautiful and simple. Super comfortable and the shape it gives is very natural, rounded and the lift is nice too, very supportive, the straps are thick and very soft, adjustable all the way. The cups and the band run true to size. The little trim it has at the top of the cups is elastic. Iam really happy with this bra!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I adore this bra. It has a beautiful shape, round on the bottom and flat on the top, and of course the fabric is beautiful. Feels like something a bride should wear. Center gore does hold very snug and would feel like it's digging in for some people, but I like the feeling, actually I prefer it.
The most comfortable straps I've ever experienced: wide and plush. The design is minimalistic and adornment-free which appeals to me. However, the cup is too narrow. I simultaneously quad and have wrinkles in the top of the cup. Finally, I don't fill the cup near the wire. If it were wider, the fit might be nearly perfect because the cup height is lower than most. Sincere appreciation to klilly3 for giving away her trusted Fantasie!!!
Despite how snug this bra fits me (I went down a size to wear as a strapless) I still love it. I actually wear it quite often with the straps. I love the shape it gives under my clothes and find I can buy just about any top I want without worrying whether my straps or other bra areas will be showing.
This bra gives a nice smooth appearance. The cup is rather shallow at the base but does have a nice depth at the apex. It doesn't work perfectly for me, but I think its a very versatile fit.
The straps are too far apart and dig into my armpits. I guess I have narrow shoulders. I'm not really used to molded cups, so those take some getting used to, though the fit is fine. The rest of the fit is great, but I can't get comfortable with the straps.
What a pretty bra!
