I've been on a mission to find my size and a bra that fits. I am a hard one to fit since I have a lot more projection than width so it's made bra shopping harder and I figured out today that I've been measuring in the wrong spot to get my under-bust measurement, instead of a 26.5" I am 25". When I first put this on I was once again saddened, the 28FF have been too small and this in a G was apparently too big and rather uncomfy. After awhile I decided to try it on again and after wearing it a bit on the loosest ...hook the underwire was hurting and it was riding up a bit so I took it off and slightly bent the wire around so that it molded to my body and I put it back on but hooked on the tightest hooks. Holy cow! It was like a completely different bra! It fit and better yet, it felt good! I'll admit I did shed a couple of tears too. : ) My right breast is slightly smaller than my left so a small dart at the bottom will make that cup nearly perfect too but the center gore now sits fully against my sternum though the top digs in a wee bit, however that can be fixed.
This isn't a very pretty bra, as far as they go it's kind of basic and not one that you'd want showing however I'm in love with it and thankful that I've found something that fit.

Actually got this for my daughter as this is a cup size larger than I usually wear in freya unlined bras but it was small on her so I gave it a try. It fit ok but the Gore is a bit wide and sat on tissue and it was slightly too shallow causing a bit of wrinkling at the bottom of the cups. Even though I loved the look of this bra I didn't get I for myself because of the thin strap on top of the cups (these always cut into my soft tissue. When I saw that strap was adjustable I literally freaked out I ...was so happy 😂. The adjustable strap made it so I could adjust it so it didn't cut into my breast! But alas twas not the bra for me. I also felt like from my angle looking down the bra made my breast look a bit torpedo like but it looked fine in the mirror from other angles so idk. It does seem like this bra runs about a cup smaller than other freyas I have tried. Read more 77 more words
This was my first experience with Freya - I knew I had to give their famous deco a try, especially since they make it in a multi-way!
This cup size sorta works on me: though the slight gaping is undeniable, the cups are firm enough that no wrinkling or awkward shaping results. I can fill the cups if I swoop and scoop, but I immediately begin to un-fill them again, as this bra is so loose on me that it would require constant adjustment. Can’t fill part of the bottom of the cup - I can fill it at the front center, but have a patch that extends diagonally ...backward toward the band of empty space - thankfully the fabric is firm enough that it doesn’t buckle. Good amount of padding coverage - not too much, not too little. Wings and cup are MUCH too high, and the painfully cut into my underarms (see photos). Band feels a little too tall on my back, like it’s taking up more space than I’d like. Cute color and button detail on the band, simple and stylish. Definitely need a larger band size - it painfully cuts in, and is a struggle to close on the loosest hooks. The lace on the band is not at all itchy, which was a nice surprise! (I usually hate lacy bands). Multiway straps are long enough and wide enough, and hook into place at the top of the cup and in the back (see photos).
Overall, it’s a good bra, but just not great for me in this size. I’d consider trying it in a 30FF/30F or 32F/32E. Read more 162 more words
My shape: narrow shoulders, FoB, and (I think!) projected, center fullness, narrow and short roots.
I'm pretty sure the 28G was too small in the cup for me, so my assessment is coming from that! I wish it fit, as it's really pretty (I love the pattern and the little feather charm at the center bow). It's lined, which should help with show-through. It's also a very rounded shape, I think due to the vertical seams, which also make it slightly pointy in some unnatural places and slightly flat in others. There's a point close to the inside and a flat plane where the point usually is on my ...horizontal-seamed bras.
The biggest problem for me is that the straps are approximately one mile apart. Left to their own devices, they actually want to sit hovering over my armpits. If I hold my arms out and look straight on, there's empty space there. This, combined with the fact that they don't adjust very long, is causing some pain. This is definitely suited for ladies with a broader frame (which doesn't make much sense for a 28 band, but okay!). Read more 79 more words
I am so in love with this bra! One of my first bras I purchased after finding this site was the Freya Pansy. Despite its ugly pattern (IMO) I feel deeply in love with its fit. After finding this one I was super excited because it seemed to have the same cut but a much more beautiful pattern.
Bra Review: This bra fit extremely similarly to the Freya Pansy. It is great for my close set and full on bottom shape. The lace on the top holds me in without causing any quad boob and the straps are perfectly set (not too wide for a small frame). Because I bought ...this used, I can not vouch for how the band was when it was new, but this one is definitely a bit stretched out for a 28. Never the less, it fits great.
The material is very soft and comfortable and I love the lace top. It is a sweet green that is not too neon. The pattern on the lace is also very cute.
Overall: I am in love and would gladly purchase another one if found. Read more 76 more words
Lovely bra, really really comfy, but the band runs loose and the cups are too shallow and wide for me. It's really a pity that it stops at G cup, as I would have needed to size up.
I got this lovely bra specimen from the amazing CurvyCandy - thank you so much!
Firstly - if you'd told my 32DD-wearing-self a year ago I'd be wearing a 28G bra today, I'd have laughed you all the way to China. Secondly - what a pretty bra! Love the glacier color and the buttons and the preppy little stripes and the fact that it's not PINK like every other bra I've had lately. Thirdly - holy boobs, batman! Umm, I definitely have some boobs in this bra.
Wires - I measured 5.75" wide. *update* now, with tissue migration, they are too wide. ...But the molded cup masks that. Once I get pics up I'll probably do a fit request just because I definitely feel I am on the right track with the 28G Decos. Are there Decos that aren't *quite* so... round... on top?
Band - Good so far. Hooked nicely on the loosest hooks, could do the middle hooks. 28 bands, FTW.
Cups - so.molded. Seriously. Boob armor. They stand up on their own. I measured 9.25" depth - less than what I expected it to be. I don't quad at all, but there is a tiny bit of space between the top of my boob and the bra cup. If I reach forward, there's enough space to hide my cell phone, loose change, and take my lunch to work. They also tend to gap at the corner of the cups where the straps attach - similar to my Charlotte that tried to saw my armpits off, only less uncomfortable. But they give me such a pretty, lifted, rounded shape that it's kinda forgivable. I see what you did there, Freya. You made a bra that asks for beach ball boobs, but made it in such a way that it hides boobs that aren't beach ball shaped. Read more 218 more words
8/1/15 Update: This bra no longer fits. This bra is too big in the cup after weight loss. Adding current pics to reflect this.
5/19/12 Original Review: This is one of my better fitting bras at the moment. I find that as the day goes on the band stretches out. I end up having to wear this bra on the tightest fitting hooks and it still rides up a little. The fabric is soft and I love the color and pattern. The straps are made of softer, more comfortable elastic. The straps are stretcher than my nude colored Freya Deco bra so I tend to have more bounce when I walk fast. I also find that this particular bra has cups that are a little bigger than my nude Deco in a size 28G, but that works in my favor because I really need a size 28GG in Freya Deco.
I've been drooling over this bra ever since I first saw it become available for sale, and recently I bought it from another bratabase user.
Visually, it's stunning. I adore heather grey and I think that the white lace details are absolutely lovely, and transform an otherwise boring bra into something really adorable.
I really like the fit, both with and without the J-hook (though in order to use the J-hook comfortably I have to loosen the straps considerably). I do think I prefer it without the J-hook but I'm happy the J-hook is there for days when I want to wear something more racerback. My problem with the J-hook ...is that the triangle-ish space where the back strap meets the band becomes irritating when the J-hook is in place, but I have sensitive skin.
The cups fit in the traditional Freya Deco style, which I'm coming to realize is pretty much what my boobs need. The cups are shallower than I expected but, as I've always found the Deco runs a smidge large, I don't mind. The cups give me a lovely rounded shape with nice, tasteful cleavage. I do think that the wings come up a little more high and/or wide than I prefer, but it's not irritating or painful, just noticeable.
I heard that the tops of the cups were more closed in this model than the traditional Deco, which I was looking forward to because the tops of the cups of my nude 30FF Deco are beginning to turn out. However, I think that the closed edge presents a raised surface which shows through thin shirts just as much as a turning-out edge, so that was a bit of a disappointment. Still totally wearable with most of my clothing, though.
Overall I think that this bra is visually stunning and has a few minor fit issues that don't impact its overall wearability. Read more 203 more words
Quick note on the appearance: amazing true deep green colour (Jade/Emerald, AW13), the strap and band detailing prettifies it and makes it stand out from the usual Deco crowd.
I was advised to size down in cup and band in the Deco, which I did, but it turns out this doesn't apply to the Honey. It's got detailing on the band which makes it firmer - and more true to size - than the regular Deco. The gore is also too low, so I fall out in the middle (soft + heavy in the centre boobs). I actually need to size up (to 30GG) for the gore to be ...the right height. The bottom shallow cups force the breasts up and centre to create cleavage, so it's essentially a push-up without pads. The wires are wide, meaning I get that empty space in the outer bottom corner of the cups, and my boobs push that whole part down, folding the corner over itself. The Deco's just an incompatible shape for my breasts. (Side note: despite this, I have managed to hoard a collection of various Decos to be used as occasion bras (when that occasion requires cleavage) Read more 88 more words
Regular Deco and I parted ways about a year ago, after I accepted that its gore would always be too damn wide. I picked up the longline with low expectations and high hopes (from a store with free shipping) and...its gore is too damn wide. It doesn't tack, either--my projected, center-full boobs push the cups out and I get quadboob. So much quadboob. But the sides of the cups are empty enough that I think this is probably the correct cup volume for me (somewhere around a 28GG/H these days), so it does seem to run big in the cup, much like the Deco plunge. It's hard to gauge when the shape is so off...much like the Deco plunge. I really don't know what I was expecting.
I have a flared ribcage, so longline bands often fit me kind of oddly. This one feels comfortably snug and very supportive. If the cup shape were even slightly compatible with my breasts I'd probably keep it just for that--more strapless longlines, please!
This pretty black halfcup balcony bra is only lightly padded an makes a very round and uplifted shape, including some notable cleavage. I specially appreciate the little details like the lace flower application on the center gore bow and the little bows on the straps. The fabric covered straps are considerably broad and not very stretchy but fully adjustable.
As Freya bands are said to run looser than other UK brands I decided to order this bra both in the 28'' and 30'' Band which proved to be the right decision. If you are between bands I probably would go for the smaller band.
Personally I don't like the fabric covering the straps and cup outside very much. It's not as smooth as I would like underclothes to be. The padding on the contrary is very soft. All in all it's a reasonably comfortable and nice looking bra. Nevertheless this will definitely not become my favourite everyday bra.
I really love the way this bra looks on *other* people, but it's not right for me. I've been puzzled as to what the exact problem is, since the measurements are similar to those on other bras that *do* fit me correctly, and I've come to the conclusion it's just an incompatible shape for my breasts.
My boobs are somewhat evenly full, leaning towards FOT, but relaxed. They need some depth on the bottom to support fullness there, but not too much depth, or my breasts will relax into the bottom of the cup, and kind of hang there like tennis balls in a sock. I wear a bra ...for lift and support, so this is not a good thing. I think the Lyla is too shallow in the bottom of cup for me, so my breasts tissue gets pushed to the middle of the cup, which isn't meant to support so much weight, and so the whole bra shifts downwards. With perfect posture and a swoop-and-scoop, I can get my bras to look ok in this bra for a minute, but before long, I end up with underwires that don't sit at my inframmary fold, tons of wrinkling at the bottom of the cup, and somewhat droopy looking boobs, with wrinkling at the top of the cup also.
I think this bra is better for the perky-breasted and very FOT. If my breasts didn't need so much structure to put the volume where it should be, I doubt I would have gotten the breast-tissue-pushes-everything-down problem.
Other than that, in 28G, I found the bra to be fuller-coverage than I was expecting. The center gore is pretty high for a supposed plunge bra, and the entirety of my breast tissue was covered. When I put a regular ribbed tank on over the bra, I had to consciously adjust the shirt so that the top of the cups wouldn't peek out the neckline. I could wear a high V-neck tee with this bra, but I would not feel comfortable in anything low cut. If it weren't for the label, I would have called this bra full-coverage.
Lastly, the seams on this bra stick out more than those on similarly cut bras I own. Not sure why this is, but it further limits the versatility of this bra for me.
Needless to say, I've sent this bra back, and I've crossed similarly cut Freya's off my "to try" list. Read more 296 more words
I have full breasts and a narrow root and this bra is one of the best fitting bras I've come across.
At first I wasn't crazy about the shape it gave me, this was my first unpadded bra so i wasn't used to the pointy look; however, I've found that it doesn't look pointy with clothes on at all and I like that my breasts behave more naturally.
The band could be tighter. I measure just over 28" and I think the middle hook is actually a bit closer to how the bra should fit than the loosest hook, but alas, there is no 26 band to try. The underwires ...are not overly comfortable on my sides but I can live with it.
Even though I have a significant difference in size between one breast and the other I was able to offset this by tightening the strap on the smallest breast more than the other strap. Now the difference is imperceptible, almost no gapping on the small boob and no quadboob on the larger one.
The bra has a very fun and pretty pattern. If I could change one thing it would having black lace at the top instead of red, since I tend to wear low cut tops and black would have been less obvious if it happened to peek through.
I got this bra because I had it in a 28FF and grew out of it after a few months. It was great while it lasted, although there was sometimes some wrinkling of the cups towards the bottom. The 28 band started out tight at first, but eventually loosened up enough to wear without an extender. Anyways, there was a huge difference in fit between the 28FF and 28G for me.
Like I had expected, I had to try this on with an extender. Without, I can still fasten the bra, but I'm popping out all over the place... What I didn't like was that the 28G is ...just so much MORE bra, and that doesn't work with my small frame. It comes up higher under the armpits and I didn't really feel like it needed 4 hooks, but whatever. The center gore is also a 1/2 in taller than the 28FF.
That above anything else is what makes me want to return this. For one, I have very close set breasts, which is why I prefer plunge bras. The higher center gore is basically sitting on top of breast tissue at this point. It also shows under lower cut tops which means that I can't even wear this bra anymore with a lot of the clothes that call for something strapless.... I might want to try again with a 30FF, but for now I think I'll just make due with the 28FF that I have. I don't have time right now to go through the return/exchange process.
Alas, this bra doesn't fit me. I bought it second-hand because it was cheaper to determine my new/current size that way, and alas this is not it. In the photos, the quad-boob doesn't look so bad, but let me assure you that when I push my shoulders back even a little bit, there's a massive line where the cups dig in. I thought it was due to hormones, but it's still too small for me a week later. I'm quite sad that it doesn't fit because it looks very pretty and feels nice. I like the shape that I think it's suppose to create because I'm a fan of three-part cups that have an uplifted and somewhat triangular shape from the side. I'll keep it around just in case my boobs magically change again, and pass it along if that doesn't happen for a while.
This bra gives a nice pushed up round shape that I like, and gives me more of a cleavage look. I like the fully adjustable straps. As far as the nude color goes it’s a little pale for my skin, and I’m rather light complected. In the size 28G, I find the cup size is too small because I really need a 28GG, and they don’t make that size in this bra. When I start moving around my boobs wiggle towards the middle and the tops of my areolas will peek out. For the band size the 28 fits but I have to wear it on the middle set of hooks. Very nice other than the fit flaws due to sizing. Crossing my fingers that Freya will start making this in cup sizes larger than a G in a 28 band.
This is the 4th different Deco size I've tried (the others being 30G, 30FF, 30F). The band on this 28G is small enough that I have to use an extender to make it comfortable, but this size has the best fitting cups I've been able to find. Unfortunately it is still not a perfect fit.
The tops of the cups simply don't quite lay flat on me, so the top line of the cup is visible through t-shirts...which kind of defeats the purpose of a "t-shirt bra". The center gore is close, but doesn't quite touch my sternum. Also, where the strap meets the cup, this area is not ...touching my skin, it pulls away from my body by about an inch. I don't quite know how to describe this, however it's an issue I have with many bras. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I realize these symptoms could sound like the cup is too big, but I assure you, if I went down a cup size there would be major quad.
The straps are too far apart, which is an issue I have with almost every bra I try. (I have narrow rounded shoulders.) Using a strap accessory in the back fixes this, however it's not ideal.
The bra would be nice if it fit right, and I can see why it works great for many women. However, this is the last try I'm giving the Deco, as it seems that it just isn't compatible with my shape. Will be returned. Read more 145 more words
