I so wanted this to fit. But it wrinkles too much in the upper part of the cup towards the center. Projection was good, no wrinkles, comfy and the wires were great. Gore didn't tack at the top and was too wide for my breasts. If the gore had been half an inch lower it would probably have been perfect for me. Alas.
Didn't work for me, not enough center projection in the cup so I look pointy in it., and the gore didn't tack. Felt like it was squashing towards my rib cage and didn't work for me. Also I wrinkled pretty bad at the underwire in the bottom of the cup.
This is a very popular bra that I hoped I could sister-size into, as I've heard it runs generous in the cup and they don't make seamless bras at all, or many plunges in my size (UK 32J). Unfortunately, it does *not* run large if you are full-on-top. I have close-set breasts, so I really like the low gore. As with most Freya bras, the underwires are not as harsh as you get with Panache, so the bra is pretty comfortable. The straps are too wide and cut into my armpit fat/tail of spence, but my shoulders are quite narrow, this probably wouldn't be a problem for someone in the correct size. I really wish they made it in my size!
I used to love this version of the Freya Deco Bra but now it doesn't fit. I am assuming it is too big because my boobs literally fall out when i move. I have started buying all of my bras in the 34H or 32H range instead. This is much better.
The bra itself is "fine" not as fantastic as the Deco loyalists say.. but it is a pretty neon pink.
I do not like the padding either, i don't know if anyone with H cup boobs NEEDS padding. Not my favourite.
Slight orange-in-a-glass effect - not enough projection and too wire wires for my narrow, projected breasts. Also, too small in the cup for me after some tissue displacement.
The cups gape at the top and wrinkle at the bottom. The gore touches my sternum, but the wires want to bunch up and either overlap or sit on breast tissue. I feel like the gore would be great if only it didn't come up as high. The band feels good.
ETA: After some fit help, I realized I was wearing the bra too low. Pulling it up into my inframammary fold fixed the bottom wrinkling and made the gore tack better. It also gave me a much better shape.
This bra is huge. It runs at least 2 cup sizes too big. It looks good with straps but without straps it falls to the side. Perhaps it would be better if it fit right.
The band runs snug, at least a band size small. It feels very firm and stays in place. It has sticky strips to keep it up.
There are multiple places to attach straps. There are four hooks which provides a sturdy back.
I'm sorry this didn't work for you, but this review actually makes me hopeful that a 36GG in this might work for my 34J boobs...
thecurveshaveit I totally agree with you saying this runs about 2 cup sizes big! Squish1901 I tried this in 32GG - Freya ยป Deco Strapless (4233), and it actually fit quite well (I wear 32HH in Cleo and 70J/JJ in Ewa Michalak). The cups on the Deco Strapless run crazy big; much bigger than the regular Deco. You might actually be able to wear a 34GG!
It's incredible how big these run in the cups! Other reviewers have said the same. I wonder if they changed the fit at any point or if all deco strapless bras run so large in the cups? Not so good for anybody who actually wanted a true to size GG, but wonderful for those who are technically sized out.
I'm going to call and ask my local (2 hours away, so localish) bra store and ask if they've got any 34GG or 36GG deco strapless bras. Would be good to try them! I actually don't own anything strapless, mostly because I long ago ruled it out as an option. But if I had a strapless bra...
I feel if you could get a good fit in the cups, these bras might give quite a round uplifted shape so I'm eager to see if a 34GG or 36GG would work for me.
I know this is supposed to be the alternative to the Jolie, but....no. Just, no. The shape is a bit rounder, which is welcome, & its actually a bit -less- full coverage. The band is a softer, better material too. The rest: all bad.
The cup shape is not the same. It is not nearly as friendly to full-on-top shapes as the Jolie. There is a firm band edging the top that cuts in a bit & the gore does not tack anywhere near the way my Jolie's do.
But the worst thing for me was the edging along the bottom of the cups. The bra was comfy for ...6 hours & then it was rubbing me raw, leaving sore red marks on my skin. I have this problem with many Fantasies & some Curvy Kate's that have a picot type sharp edging along the bottom band. Gem is just not the one for me. Until I find that perfect bra with the fit of Jolie, but a rounder shape, I plan to keep buying white Jolie's & dying them many fun shades with food coloring. Read more 78 more words
All in all, however, the bra material is very comfortable and the straps are great, I just don't think the shape was quite right for me. The cups are too deep. My breasts do have a narrower root, but the underwires were still digging against my sternum and my breast tissue did not fill the cup entirely to the bottom.
The quality of the bra is excellent. The pattern is not really my style but it's fun and feminine. The material of the bra might seem flimsy but it's actually very strong and supportive. This bra, if it's the right shape for you, is a great buy. However, since this bra has been discontinued, it might be more difficult now to find it on the market.
This is my fave bra from Freya. It gives a pointier shape than Pollyanna, but the cup runs large & it is the only bra that can accommodate PMS swelling with total comfort. (I go up around 1/2 cup size for 4 days each month so that's a welcome feature). I do get the 'Freya fold' that little diagonal loose area on the top of the cup, even tho I'm a full on top shape, but it's not noticeable.
The fabric is very comfy, & is the only GG+ style that Freya hasn't ruined for me with that laminated fabric I find so obnoxious. It does have vertical stays which I remove with a seam-ripper. After that, very, very comfy.
Sadly, it's been discontinued in all but white & black. I buy the white, then dye it with food coloring, which works nicely. Here's a pix of the one I dyed bubble gum pink. The other is a Curvy Kate Princess dyed pale blue.
I was hoping for the silky fabric of Mischa or Iona, but no. It's that 'laminated' lower cup, the same as the GG+ Pollyanna. I really dislike the feel of it next to my skin, kind of like starched gauze. Im beginning to worry that Jolie is the only style that has escaped this 'feature'. The shape is also fairly pointy on me.
First off, this bra is nice and simple. No bells or whistles, but it doesn't need them either. It's nice to look at and feels very soft.
I wanted to try this bra for a while, but sadly it doesn't come in the size I usually wear (38GG). I figured however that since some of my 38GG cups felt a bit big that I would try it in a 38G. As I read about the bra, it seemed that it ran a bit large in the band, so I chose to get a 36GG.
I feel this was a bad idea. The band ...is very firm on me. I can fasten it, but after a little bit, it feels quite painful. I think if I get another of these, I will get the 38G. And for reference, the band does seem to run large, as it measured similarly to some of my 38 bands.
As for the cups, at first I wasn't sure if they were right for me. I didn't quadboob out of them, but it seemed as though the gore wasn't quite tacking. I probably would be better off with a 38GG, but since they don't make it, I'll have to live with this size. That isn't to say it didn't look nice. It gave my breasts a very nice shape, and I have to say I'm excited about it being a plunge. I really enjoy the plunge style, but it can be hard to find as sizes go up.
The straps of the bra are nice. They have a very firm stretch to them. They are also fully adjustable, which is a plus.
The band as I mentioned earlier is firm, but has a bit of stretch to it. It doesn't feel like a band that would stretch out quickly. It has 2 columns of hook and eye closures with the typical 3 rows to adjust for eventual band stretching.
There are also small bow details at the beginning of the straps at the top of the cup and at the top of the gore.
All in all, this is a very nice bra. Read more 251 more words
I have to say, I think this design/fabric/pattern might be my favorite bra ever. Too bad it won't fit me.
This bra only goes up to a GG cup and I'm an H or HH. Freya bands tend to be loose on me so I size down, but that means there's no way I could fit into this cup. The 36 band is pretty snug on me, but I can fasten it. There is definite quad-boob along the top. Pretty much to be expected on a bra that is a few cup sizes too small.
The band seems fairly stretchy, such that it would get stretched out pretty easily. The fabric, although adorable, doesn't seem very sturdy. The center gore pretty much sits flat on my chest. This bra seems like a pretty average bra in most ways, so maybe if I ever get down to this size it would work!
I loved the 38FF I wore all year, but realized recently that I'd lost 5 lbs....but went UP a cup size? I needed a 36GG, which is a perfect fit. Sadly, it's also a whole different bra. I'd read reviews on blogs that note Freya really changes from a G to a GG.
What changes? Everything. Much higher gore, which tacks well. Cup is much fuller cut too. I don't mind these changes so much. But I do mind those horrid little plastic stays in the sides - & unlike most they are anchored to the bottom of the band with stitches, so I have to saw back & ...forth with a seam-ripper to get them out. Still, I can do that. What really is unfortunate is the fabric is totally different. It's what is referred to as 'laminated'. So on the outside it is the silky satin of the up-to-G-cup version...but the inside is a stiff, rough, plasticky coated lining bonded to the silky fabric, I.e., not a separate lining you can remove. Why they put that on the inside of the cup, rather than outside is beyond me. The only style I've come across wiout this is Jolie, which is discontinued, so I've bought up a few on eBay.
Although this is supposedly the same cut as Pollyanna, I actually found it slightly more comfy. There seems to be a tiny bit of extra width in the wires & the lack of the crochet type lace at the band may be why.
I'm sorry this didn't work for you, but this review actually makes me hopeful that a 36GG in this might work for my 34J boobs...
