I have a lot of bras with fun patterns, but was in need of one sold black and one nude t-shirt bra. I had not had a Goddess in about ten years - I tend to prefer a bit less matronly bras and more interesting fabrics. On a whim I decided to try this one and I am glad I did.
When I first took it out, I noticed the VERY firm elastic on the band. It is like a corset! I almost did not try it on. When I first did, I could not get it hooked - it is a tough pull on that fabric! ... Then I realized I needed to let out the straps - with them very short it kept the back too high and I could not connect. As soon as i lengthened the straps, it went on easily.
The cups are a made of a softer material than the band, thankfully. It still has a more industrial feel than, say, a Sculptress Belisle. The inside of the cups reminds me of the Elomi Carmen. The outside of the cup is soft (like an Elomi Cate) except where the lace is - this has a powermesh behind it against the skin. Even the straps are sturdy and firm. This is my least favorite part of the bra. The scratchy firm material on the outside of the band tends to curl under on me and that materials is definitely scratchy. The straps, after wearing a short time, were definitely too short; I could feel them digging into my shoulders.
The shape of the cups - to me - is almost perfectly balanced between round and projected. It is more rounded than Kayla on the front of the cup, but does an excellent job of projecting the sides of the breasts. No tissue is extending beyond the side of my body. It reminds me a lot of Elomi Caitlyn, but my memory is that it is not quite as rounded. Could just be material differences.
The fit is PERFECT for my soft, heavy breasts. The wires only measure 7" wide, but they seem wider on. The wire on the wing side is firmly under my armpit. The wires seem just as sturdy as the rest of the bra and are quite firm.
I would love to know if this is based on any other Goddess bras and if those are a bit softer and less firm AND that have longer straps. Slightly nicer materials and long enough straps would make this a top fave instead of something I have am not going to buy.
