I have had problems with balconette style bras by Mimi Holliday where as I am full on the bottom and I have had Mimi bras where the cups are to close together. I have neither of those problems with this bra. It is practically perfect. The only thing (and this is far from a deal breaker) is the straps are a little far apart for me I never thought of myself as having particularly narrow shoulders, but I definitely do not have broad shoulders so maybe it's just me. I do love this bra, the fabric is soft and as usual I have no problems or discomfort with the wires in any Mimi Holliday bras. I love the pattern on the satin, a sort of mix of sexy and sweet. I am very excited about this bra!
PSA: These are crazy cheap on Amazon right now and there are matching panties. The comfort panties run a bit big/stretchy. They are high rise and the size small measures 27" unstretched at the waistband.
The band is huuuuuuuuge on me but also runs a tad stretchy for a 32. When I pull it reasonably tight, the worst of the cup wrinkling goes away. The silk is more grey than I expected, which is a bonus as I prefer that over white. The cups don't provide a ton of shaping so things aren't going to appear rounded in this bra. I think it is a great set for comfort and/or the bedroom.
Probably depending on size, deeply discounted bras might not be available. This is 3 sister sizes away from my "real" size and I am going to alter the band.
Beautiful bra...I only tried it on, but it seems like it is both comfortable and sexy. The make of the bra is excellent - soft silk straps and encased wiring. The sheer mesh is not itchy nor cheap looking. However, I bought a cup size too big since my previous experience with Mimi Holliday is that the cup runs small. However, this one is very true to size. I will be buying in 28E and selling this one. The band is pretty stretchy too, so prob not best for those who want/need very snug bands.
I loved this bra however it is way too small in the cup for me so never got to enjoy as I had wished. It will be perfect for someone else. Hardly ever worn purchased online from figleeves I believe. I look forward to finding this same bra in the right size.
This bra is an epitome of cuteness - exactly my aesthetics! Unfortunately the band is wayyy too big and the straps don't adjust long enough. I know I should have got at leat a 32F if not a 30FF, but I found this bra for mere $10 and wanted to use it as a cute alternative for a pyjama tank top (new boyfriend, new lingerie, meheheheheh). I will consider altering it since I have matching panties arriving soon.
I stalked this bra for months like a crazy person until I finally found someone who had one for sale on Vinted and she was willing to ship it to me!
It does not disappoint in any way. It is technically not a perfect fit on me but it's really comfortable and beautiful. I use it mostly as a PMS bra for when I am too sensitive to tolerate a tight band, plus the foam feels nice and protective and the high quality means no scratchy or pokey bits. The print makes me so happy. I LOVE polka dots.
If you're considering this bra, I would say that it ...runs a size large in the band and a touch large in the cups. This is an older Mimi Holliday bra so the same may not be true for newer models. Based on my experience with this bra, the "balcony" models have significantly more cup height than the "fully padded super plunge" models, which might explain why the cups seem larger on this bra than on the 30D - Mimi Holliday » Peacock Fully Padded Super Plunge (SS15-1. Aesthetics: WOW, this bra makes me feel grown up and sophisticated! The fabrics are soft and luxurious. I love the peacock color (very dark teal) and the sheen of the silk on front of the bra. The cups, gore, wings, and fronts of the straps are silk. The lowness of the cut is striking in a sexy way.
Padding: I am not usually into padded bras, but it works on this one. The padding is not thick, it is just a layer of maybe 1/16" foam. I think because of the somewhat minimal top coverage, I don't get that freaky "not my real boobs" feeling that I usually get with padded ...bras.
Fit: I expected the band to be loose and it is. I need a 26-28 band and I would say this one is a true-to-size 30. It does not ride up and the straps don't fall off my shoulders, and the bra does not slide around on me throughout the day, so I'm declaring it to be fine. I am wearing it on the tightest hook for now and I'll alter it later if I have to.
Oh, and that's "hook", singular. This is a one-hook bra. I was wary of that but this does not feel unstable at all. I don't know how tight it would be advisable to wear a one-hook bra. If this came in a 26, I might take the 28 anyway. As is, I'm not sure how a 28 would work on me, because...
The cups are wide on the sides. I am coming to terms with the fact that I am unusually narrow for my size range and this will be a problem for me in a lot of bras. If you are wide and shallow, this is the bra for you! For me, the cups are only a little bit outside my tissue, like 1/4". This is not so bad, I have other bras that go 1/2" or more beyond my breasts on the sides.
Because of the wideness and shallowness of the cups, I would hesitate to go to a 28DD for fear of quadding with the additional tightness. When I pull this bra tight behind my back, there is quadding. I would be afraid of how wide a 28E (or 28F??) would get. If I had unlimited access to a bunch of these to try on, I would certainly do it! The expense of full-price (even if returnable!) ones and scarcity of discount ones makes it unlikely that I will do this.
Oh, and can we discuss NARROW GORE HEAVEN? Yesssss. This is the narrowest gore I have ever seen and I love it.
The cut is very low, nipples are just in the top of the bra, but it doesn't feel at all like there's danger of the inmates escaping.
I really love this bra and I have put it into rotation despite the slight shape mismatch. Read more 371 more words
Took a stab at the size ordering from Outnet.com. Everything about these materials is wonderful to the touch, and wonderful on. Fit is not perfect, though, as the gore doesn't tack. Despite that, I have plenty of room in the underwire and the cups lay flat. Wire is shorter under the arm than I'm used to, like my Claudette Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000). If I get a chance, I would definitely want to check the next cup size up. Bra adjusts only halfway through the strap. It has four sets of hooks along the band, so plenty of room for adjustment. Nice wide band only has two hooks per set for some reason. The lacy details are gorgeous in person, much more subtle than the pictures online. Worth taking the chance I think, happy as of the first day.
Well, this didn't fit. I'm guessing like with the Masquerade Antoinette Balcony bra,the cups are too small? I was definitely popping out above and in the middle (when I swoop-n-scooped the center gore was poking into my left breast). I'm really bummed because I heard Mimi Holliday might be good for my type (shallow,tall,wide-root,FOB). I kind of want to return it and try a 28DD but with the $$ shipping prices and not knowing if the DD will just be too big or what. Like with the Masquerade Antoinette, the gore did not come close to my chest at all. Maybe the balcony style just isn't right for me. Gorgeous bra otherwise.
I would definitely try the 28DD. Because this one seems about a cup too small. IMO the padded plunges from Mimi Holliday are really good for shallow and tall roots. I didn't like the way the unpadded Mimi Holliday, balconette?, fit me at all.
Yes, I believe they made some alterations. This bra is from 2009, so it's quite old.
Wow
Staaldrigstill I want one of these! :) Is this a new version of the 2009 model or is the same model from 2009? Thanks!
I bought it unused from someone on r/braswap like half a year ago, so I don't know if it's a remake. You could always try emailing the wonderful folks at Mimi, mostly they answer their mail within 15mins during the days :)
It's just the cups are bigger than most of the 28FF Mimi Holliday bras on bratabase. I think in January is when they started making their bras a cup size bigger
Hmm, yes. I was also a bit puzzled by how much projection the cups had. I'll remeasure tomorrow just to be sure!
The design is so pretty and delicate and the bra feels very well-made, but I prefer the fit of the unpadded shoulder bra cut. The cups are made from thin lace that has a very slight give to it (not a stretch lace, just not completely rigid), and the cup edge is not elasticated - it’s just a narrow satin trim with no stretch. I think this is why the edge cuts in very slightly on me, though at first I wondered if the cups were too small. I have even fullness and my breast tissue doesn’t come up very high, so this might be an awkward cut ...if you’re full on top or have tall breasts, and I don’t know how well it would work on someone more shallow than me (I suspect it might be too narrow and closed on top). The cups have no seams, just a dart, and the shape I get in this bra is basically the same as my natural shape.
Despite the fact that my new measurements put me at a 28C/30B, I purchased this Bra in a 32A. I had previously purchased one of Mimi Holliday's super plunge bras in 30B and it gaped a little, especially on my smaller breast.
The cups of this bra are very much like oblong tea cups, so there was absolutely no gaping. However, this shape might make this bra uncomfortable for folks who are more full on top, or have breast tissue that begins higher up on the body. I had some very mild discomfort at the top of the cups at the end of the day. My breasts are short, wide-set and full on the sides and bottom. I think the underwires on this model are rather broad and fit my wide-set breasts fairly well.
I was very happy with the quality and craftsmanship. It's extremely pretty in person, although it is a bit pinker than the stock images.
I purchased this bra new on eBay after hearing that Mimi Holliday bras are great for shallow, wide-set chests. I have to say that I not only agree, but this is probably one of the best fitting bras that I own.
This bra is super soft and the lace cups are stretchy and accommodating. The cups are probably a little small for me, but the lace is a little stretchy and I get no quadboobing or anything. I also love how classic and feminine this bra is and I'm elated to have this bra in my collection. I will be purchasing more bras from this brand in the ...future (on sale of course, because I don't have $100 to spend on one bra!). If I had the funds I would probably buy them full price because they are very well made.
It's important to note that this is a pre-SS13 Mimi Holliday. Since then, their sizing has changed, so if this bra was in their current range, it would be marked as a 28C because they have made the cups larger since SS13. Just something I thought I would mention in case you are in the market for a more recently made Mimi Holliday. Read more 95 more words
I ordered this bra on purpose although I knew the size would not be right. The reason is that I tried to find the sister size to 28FF that I normally wear, or slightly bigger. I intend to alter the band myself.
I have to say it is going well so far, the cups really are very much like in 28FF!!
I love love love Mimi Holliday lingerie and found this piece online, they don´t produce this model anymore. I felt very lucky because they normally cost very much, but this was cheap https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I really cannot comment on the fit more, because this size ...is so wrong for me. What comes to appearance, there are pictures I added. What you should notice though, is that even in this size there is only one pair of hooks and eyes per row!! But 4 rows instead of the usual 3.
EDIT. The wires if some Mimi Holliday bras are very stretchy. So the cups will get a little pulled when wearing the bra. So beware. Read more 68 more words
I love this bra. It is my absolute favourite bra I own.
The lace along the top edge of the cups makes a big difference, as it helps bring the cup in a bit closer to my full-on-bottom boobs, and also makes the cups a little bit taller, unlike some of the more recent Mimi Holliday super plunge models, which tend to put nipples on show unless you kinda tuck them away somehow!
I had this bra sitting in my drawer unused for a good year or two after I bought it, as I was convinced it was too narrow for my wide-set boobs. However, once ...I lengthened the straps a little and got well-practiced at the swoop & scoop method, I realised that it actually fits me perfectly, better than any other bra I've tried before or since.
With all the four Mimi bras that I now own, I have to be quite extreme in my swoop & scoop to avoid any tissue escaping to the sides, but provided I do this well, the bra fits very well and is incredibly comfortable.
The only slight downsides of this bra, for me, are:
- If I was to be really picky, there's a very tiny amount of overspill / pinching (visually, I can't feel it) at certain times of the month where the straps join the cups, I suspect the wires might be just a tiny fraction too narrow.
- The straps are part elastic and part satin. The non-stretch nature of the satin makes them inclined to fall off my shoulders very occasionally, if I'm having a day where I'm on the move a lot.
- The bra is made out of such a lovely delicate satin and lace combination that I know it'll eventually fall apart (I always wash it in a mesh laundry bag) and I won't be able to replace it! Read more 208 more words
To me it looks like that bra is too small for you. I think you are sizing yourself to your smaller breast instead of your larger breast. It looks to me like you have ALOT of tissue at your sides behind your cups. Have you tried 28C's? I'm curious about your measurements and would like to chat. I am also quite small busted. I have also amassed quite a few places that sell smaller sized bras for more petite women. Beautiful bra though.
I´ve developed huge addiction to Mimi Holliday lingerie... they are just so pretty! I love their unorthodox colour combinations and style which is quite unique.
This is called a "comfort" bra and it sure feels comfortable. In fact, it feels like I have nothing on! The lace of the soft cups stretches a little which makes a better shape for my boobs. If it didn´t stretch, I guess I would get a pointy look, but now the look is natural. The wires are wide enough for me, something which is an issue in most bras.
The band is snug and I think runs true to size, I wear 28. Straps ...are partly adjustable and very narrow + they stretch very much. I manage with them. Just be aware that they are tiny in width and probably not very supportive.
Overall I love this bra! If you need a lot of support, this is not for you, but is you need something comfy and pretty, then it works https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
ETA 1. The wires are very stretchy in my padded Mimi Holliday bras, but in these comfort soft cup bras they are much more sturdy!
ETA 2. My boob shape has changed and now cups are a bit too small. The center gore doesn´t lay flat, and when I push it there is some quadboobing in the middle. Read more 119 more words
Well, it fits beautifully for a 28D but I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the non-padded version.
When I saw this bra on Haute Look and noticed the lace cups, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of fabric texture when I purchased it. The lace is definitely a very delicate and open lace, almost resembling a light "fishnet" style with eloquent floral shapes. The bra itself is very comfortable and the volume is perfect. However, I found that due to the shape of the lace and where my nipples hit, the cups give an odd puffy & pointy shape (see pics).
It seems that on ...the part where the lace has larger gaps of holes between the threads, the cup "bubbles" outwards just a little and makes my nipples look pillowy and puffy...sort of odd. Just for kicks, I took some of the pads out of one of my lululemon sports bras and inserted in the pad, and that fixed the shape problem right away!
I think if I just alter the bra and add in a little pad, the shape will be great and the bra will be a perfect fit. I am a little disappointed that there is only 1 hook per column in the back https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> But there are 4 hooks so that extra length/decrease in length makes up for it.
Definitely a very delicate bra...I'm afraid to even wash it!
This bra is TINY. I kind of wish I got a cup size up (maybe even a band size down) but my size was on sale so that's what I got. My nipples are out of the cups after scoop & swooping, but I just shove them into the cup afterwards. The cup is about 1-2 inches shorter/lower than my other bras of the same size. The top edge of the cups is very thick compared to most bras, so probably wouldn't want to wear it with a tight shirt. I think it'd be very nice with a blouse or something though.
This bra has made me want to buy nothing but Mimi Holliday bras from now on.
First of all, it's beautiful. Bright yellow-green satin overlaid with delicate light blue lace creates a really pretty, almost aquatic effect. More importantly, it's comfortable enough to wear all day. It even has the softest wire channelling I've found. My ribs are happy. I'm kind of fussy about how bras feel and I'd rather wear a simple bralette or stretchy crop top than an uncomfortable underwired bra, so this is saying a lot!
The cups are made of slightly stretchy lace with a single dart; they give me a very natural shape, which I ...like. The straps are only half adjustable, and because the front half of the strap is part of the cup, it's hard to adjust them very far without changing the cup fit. This style might work best for someone whose shape is between even and full on top; I'm between even and full on bottom and the upper part of the cup is slightly loose on me, but it's not a dealbreaker. It has a 4 x 1 hook fastening instead of the typical 3 x 2; the band still feels pretty supportive and comfortable to me, but your mileage may vary.
Anyway, I'm seriously impressed by how well this bra fits and how nice it looks, and whilst it's easily the most expensive bra I've ever bought (even on sale), I feel like it's worth the high price. Read more 138 more words
This is a lovely, sexy bra with a silky feel and very light, comfortable padding. Unfortunately, the bra is nothing near the right size for me! It was bought a bit before I learned my real size, and is way too small in the cups and too big in the band (which is also very stretchy). The center gore is nowhere close to my body, and I get quadboob everywhere. Even before I knew what my real size was, I understood that this bra is not for me, so after a few wears, into the drawer it went...
Thanks! I found a 32F for $16 in another style. For science, of course.... :-)
