I had purchased several bras on a trip to a boutique to get fitted earlier this year - my first time since 2019 (pre-pandemic). The fitter suggested multiple 32C bras for me, probably because even at a specialty shop, they carry more styles that are in the conventional bra matrix. Also, this particular Montelle push-up doesn't come in bands smaller than 32. It also doesn't come in anything larger than a C or a D cup, I believe. It's unfortunate that the stereotypes that anyone larger than a D cup doesn't need a push-up or a bra that gives them extra lift.
This particular bra ...is new with tags and has never been worn, but due to the boutique's return policy, I was unable to return or receive store credit for it.
I notice that Montelle bras have very stretchy bands and straps. I love the look of this bra and all of the "oomph" it gives. It's just the wrong size for me and would be better suited for someone who can have it be a part of their regular rotation. Read more 78 more words
I'm pretty mad about the whole situation that led me to buy a bunch of 32C bras. During the middle of the pandemic, I thought it would be a good idea to get fitted for bras, since it had been a few months since I had surgery for my shoulder hypermobility and it had been over six months since I was teaching 10+ fitness classes per week since gyms were still closed then. I made an appointment at a pricey but popular shop with a not so great return policy in a pricey neighborhood in a pricey to live in city. The employee fitted me ...as a 32C, which I was a little surprised about, but attributed to my lack of physical activity and upper body workouts.
When I got the bra home, I was already wearing it on the tightest hook, which should have spelled danger. That, and I had to adjust the straps as tight as I could to prevent them from sliding down my shoulders.
Flash forward to a week later: The band was super-stretched out, to the point that on the tightest hook, I could stick my whole hand up there...yikes. I also had to alter the straps and cut two inches from each strap. A week after altering the straps: Straps continued to be stretched out to the point where I could have cut more off, but would risk having the top of the bra cup warp.
Rather than continue to reconstruct this bra, I decided it would just be easier to buy something that fit better from the get-go. In the early days of having this bra, I felt like my shape under clothing had improved some but my tolerance waned as soon as it was time to alter it.
I'm not sure if I'm more salty about this bra or the crappy fitting. I'm sure she tried to get me into the "traditional matrix sizes" so that she could sell me more inventory that she had on-hand. Of course, when I called the boutique to ask about a 30 band size and a larger cup, I got the response that the smallest band size this style comes in is a 32 and C is as large as it goes in the cup. The cups are narrow on me and I have some wrinkling at the top (common in plunge bras for me). But it's a cute bra and it definitely fits well enough to keep. I would futz with sizing a bit more on this one before buying the same style again—I think it's possible that the cups are just the wrong shape.
I almost didn't get this bra because I wasn't used to the shape that wire-free bras make (a little less round/perky), but I am so glad I did! I think of all the bras I got on this haul, this one fits me the best. I was worried at first because the gore didn't seem to sit flush on my sternum, but my fitter said that's just the nature of wire-free bras, as they don't have molded cups to "frame" the breasts quite like underwires do. Everything feels fully supported and it feels kinda like a cross between a sports bra and a lined bra. Plus I LOVE the convertible strap system! I'll definitely get more of these.
This bralette is SO cute but it's obviously too big for me. I don't fill out the cups and the seams don't line up with my nipples, giving me quite a bit of sadboob from the side. I was uncertain about sizing down because of the band, but it looks like it rides a tad high so I could've afforded going down to XS/XP (if the shop had it in stock!). I'm going to keep it since I think bralettes are reasonably forgiving, but I'll keep that in mind with this brand for the future.
I thought this fit perfectly, but after posting at r/abrathatfits, eagle-eyed folks noticed that I wasn't scooping and swooping properly. When I try to line up my inframammary fold with the wire, it turns out the cups are a skosh too shallow and my breasts can't settle into the bottom of the cup. Also, the cups are a teensy bit narrow and don't quite encompass all my breast tissue at the side. But the bra is cute, it's still comfortable and I don't get any gapping at the top of the cups, so it's still a win for me!

This almost fits, but I need a cup size smaller. But they don't make a 30C, so I will try 32B next. The few measurements for this bra here indicate the 32 band only stretches a little bit more than the 30, so maybe it will work! Will report on 32B. The bra otherwise fits my boobs great, its very pretty, looks okay (thought not perfectly smooth) under t-shirts. It comes in many beautiful colors!
I have only owned this bra for a couple weeks, so I don't know how it will wear over time, but so far it is the most comfortable bra I have and seems to fit me perfectly in every way.
I feel like this bra would be a great bra for me… but I have no idea what size would fit me! The 34D was huge on me and usually I'm a 34DD (or 32E/DDD). The straps also kept falling off my shoulders- they are not fully adjustable. I feel like maybe I should size down… but still I feel like the straps would not stay put for me.
This is the full cut version. 3 part seamed bra. Lined, unpadded, underwire, bra. I really like the silver metal "hardware". The gore has a rhinestone jewel. The color I have is mint, my camera couldn't capture the true color of this bra. The top of the cups kinda smoosh my breasts down a bit because of my super flared ribcage. Gives a vintage pointy shape.
I ordered this from Zulily, as I thought it was a 30DD. Sizes seemed to skip DD, so I thought it was just an aesthetic sizing system and that 30E in this bra would still be a 30:5. However, I think I am wrong. It seems to be about a cup size too large--I ended up giving to my 30F roommate, whom it definitely fits better but is a tad small. So, I think this bra does probably fit like a true UK 30E.
Good for a shallow, wide bust. Relatively low cut but not plunge. Straps are set fairly far apart and sometimes slip off my narrow shoulders. Scratchy lace shows under t-shirts.
So comfortable. The stretch lace fabric is super super soft and there's an even softer fabric lining. The wires are a good width on this 30D where they were a bit too wide on the 30E. I do get a little bit of quadding, but that's overshadowed by the floating gore. At the band, it hits my skin, but at the top of the gore, it floats about 2cm away. The band is also very very stretchy, which makes it comfortable but not super useful as a bra. The wires are also significantly shorter than their channels... about 2cm combined (space at the ends of the channels at the gore + at the wings). The shape of the cups is very nice.
Wow this bra is comfortable! The fabric is very very soft and stretchy - I might worry about it stretching out too soon because of the high level of elastic. The wires are quite wide and the band is very stretchy and might run a bit large. On the smallest hook I still have a lot of leeway. The comfortable ness of the cups might make me disregard the fit issues just because it's so soft and nice against my skin. I have no issues with the top edge even with my shallow breasts (often bras cut in). The gore does not tack and seems to want to sit off center. I'm not sure if this is due to the band or cups. The 30d has the same gore issue.
This bra is very nice, soft, and gives good support. The gore is very narrow, with the wires actually touching at the top edge, which I really like. The texture of the lace will probably show a little bit through very thin tops, but it's alright for most of my t-shirts. It feels very delicate, so I'm not sure how long it'll hold up.
this is the best bra I've EVER had, and I bought it at the Maddox Shop in Casa Linda (Dallas), which I HIGHLY recommend! It fits me next to PERFECTLY, is comfortable, and supportive, and still very sexy. I love it.
