I originally purchased a 32FF in this bikini top. It had its fit issues so I tried to see if I could achieve a better fit with a smaller band size. Unfortunately they did not have a 30G. I’m unsure if they just didn’t have it in stock, or if they just don’t make that particular size for this top. None the less, this did not fit. Way too small in the cup and as you can see the back clasp does that annoying twisting thing. At this point I wish we could just vacation someplace with a topless beach so I can be done with this nonsense lol.
Oh my, that's quite the quad boob going on! 😬 Bummer, as it is a very nice looking swim top. Simple yet elegant.
Breakout Bras has several swimsuits available and many are on clearance/sale. Maybe you can find one through them that would work?
MamaPagan I’ll check them out! I really wanted a white strapless bikini top. I have a bunch of bottoms that would work well and I had high hopes of getting rid of my dreaded strap tan! It really is a nice top for someone who can work well with a Panache fit. I originally thought I might take the band in on the bigger one, but honestly the cup just rides down. I’m about to go to the fabric store and make a top myself. 😩
Hopefully whatever you choose works perfectly, be it another bikini top or homemade. There are so many fabric choices to choose from!! That could be very exciting. 😍
The beautiful Amelia is a gorgeous bikini from the new Panache Swim collection and it's probably one of the most gorgeous full bust bikinis I've ever seen!
I finally decided to get full bust bikinis a go and this was my first experience! Marina in white, from the 2016SS Panache Swim collection was one of the picks! It fits wonderfully!
If I buy a bikini like this, I would like to get a body like yours to go with it. :D I mean seriously, you could make a garbage bag look like a perfectly fitting fashion item. Sooooo envious here.... Linda!
erispe beauty is in the eye of the beholder! <3 All bodies are good bodies! <3
Oh good, because I was just about to go and lock myself in a gym and not come out till July. lol
Am I really the first one to review this top?? Welp ladies, I've done it. I've found a bandeau swim top I can actually wear. I've always liked the bandeau bikini top look, when worn correctly, but it's really hard to pull off. To buy any old Target bandeau, you basically have to possess either no boobs, or boobs of steel that hold themselves up, walk on their own two feet, and answer your phone calls for you while you're busy downing that margarita at the tiki bar. Since I do have boobs, I've never had luck with unstructured bandeaus, although I've ...tried on more than my share.... which gave me a really sad looking, squashed together uniboob shelf. Not a good look for me.
I'm on a roll trying swimwear lately, and I ordered this preppy little polka dotted number because it was on Amazon Prime and why the hell not, I needed a good laugh. I totally expected to return it.... but now I'm apologizing to my bank account for the $38 that is, in fact, not coming back.
It's available in 3 colors but I picked black and white because I'm not very adventurous and it matches everything. Plus, the black and white colorway has this white trim at the top with a cute 2 button detail on the gore and I thought it gave it almost a nautical flair. I should be wearing this on my yacht, paired with fancy boat shoes, but I'm not a millionaire so the lake will have to do.
This is the best swim top I've found yet. In fact, it's better than any strapless bra I've found thus far, so under dark shirts it might pull double duty. It feels really sturdy without being overly padded, and looks and feels like it's very well made - this wasn't thrown together in a hurry. It's a two part cup design with one vertical seam, but the white trim on the black colorway makes it look like a 3 part cup. It's not overly shallow (but it's no Comexim either) and even the wires aren't horrifically wide at 5.5. The depth is only 9" and on paper it shouldn't fit me and in the database it says it doesn't, but somehow I'm not falling out of it and it more than exceeds my low standards for a bikini top. I haven't taken it swimming yet, so I might change my mind, but right now I feel pretty smokin' in this thing. The cups aren't tall - one of the reviews on Amazon mentioned muffin-boob, and I could totally see that happening on FOT or tall-rooted ladies. With my short roots, it works pretty well. Even better - Panache designed the outermost layer of fabric to lay in a way such that it hides all of the wires, so it doesn't look like a strapless bra!
Band is pretty TTS, if not a half inch tight or so - which is really good for me. It comes with detachable straps that can be worn normally or cross back, but they're a little too short for me to wear cross back, and I like the bandeau look better anyays. I have really low set boobies, so I doubt this is a problem for many other women.
Bottom line - most likely fantastic for average width, average projection, FOB and/or short roots. I am narrow rooted, extremely projected, evenly full with short roots and if you're like me, it's still worth a shot. Read more 497 more words
I love it! It looks really good on you, I'm glad you're keeping it.
Thanks!
That's really cute! I've been considering ordering a Comexim bikini, but now I'm wondering how this one behaves in my size (or if it comes in my size...excuse me, off to research!)
OMG there's a navy one! Hmmm.
I think it's really worth trying, I was surprised there wasn't any other reviews of it on here... but this is a bra site more than a bikini site. Especially if it's got prime shipping and returns, it's affordable enough to take a gamble on IMO.
If it's there in the morning, I think I may go for it. No 30F, but I could maybe swing the 30E.
Thank you so much for reviewing this bikini top. I have been eyeing it for a while and never found any reviews. I have short roots and am slightly fot, but get along with shallow bras so I think this might work for me.
I forgot to ask if you did try swimming in it?
I did. I did backflips off the diving board in it. It stayed up just fine. It is too wide & shallow on me, but all bikinis are. I think you'll get along fine with it. It's worth the money!
Wow, backflips! I can't do those at all.
Former gymnast. It's fun, but I also have hella broad shoulders and overdeveloped back muscles plus a whole host of joint pains. So, I've paid for that ability lol!
I bought this top impulsively while browsing Breakout. I can't remember the last time I even wore a swimsuit, never mind a two-piece, but I liked the nautical look of it so much I couldn't resist. It's so cute! I love the stripes, the cup design, and the buttons on the gore. There's even a little gold Panache charm sewn onto the left side band. Adorable.
The material is standard non-shiny swimsuit fabric, with not too much stretch. The cups are unpadded and lined in white mesh. I do get a little bit of nipple poke, but the contrast between the navy band on the top of the ...cups and the stripes hides it pretty well. The back has one plastic interlocking closure similar to a typical front-close bra clasp, but bigger.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the fit and look in person! It's really flattering. The band is snug but not too tight. The cups fit pretty well on both sides with no quadding or gaping, and somehow manage to hide my asymmetry. The gore tacks comfortably. I was concerned that the band would be too thin on me and would accentuate my back bulges, but it doesn't. The only small issue I have with it is the straps - they're spaced wide for me and I can see them slipping with wear. It would be good if it had a j-hook or a way to cross the straps in the back, but I can finagle something if it becomes a problem. Overall, I really like it. The matching high-waisted striped retro bottom didn't work for me (waist comes up too high), but I'm exchanging for a midrise solid navy bottom that I expect will be much better. I look forward to finding an excuse to wear the set this summer! Read more 199 more words
This is a classic black swimsuit by Panache. I felt that it was quite flattering on, and would even be suitable for swimming laps. I took a chance on this as it was only $10 on breakout bras.
This 28 band suit pleased me with its ability to fit the rest of my body appropriately. I wear a 4 or 6 in pants, have narrow hips and a bit of belly fluff. It was flattering, slimming and classic. People with a 28 band and wider hips might have problems, as the body was snug fitting on me.
Here are the problems I encountered with the suit. 1), the cups definitely ...tried to continuously slide out of my IMF. It soft of seemed like they were attached too low in the suit, not that my breasts were pushing them down. I was able to shimmy the cups up and in to location, but they slipped down again later. However, I didn’t mind terribly, I don’t have the same standards for swimsuits as other bras. 2) this is the BIG problem. The underwire at the gore goes up high, and stabs my sternum badly. I included a picture of how my chest looked after wearing it for 2 hours yesterday. Today I am literally bruised and tender on that spot. Argh Panache! I have only ever had 1 other bra that did this, also Panache. I’m looking for suggestions on how to try to fix this problem so that I can resume this suit. I normally wear 30, sometimes 28 bands. This band didn’t feel too tight, so I don’t think that band tension is causing the problem. Read more 166 more words
Looks great on you! Just replace the wires with more comfy ones from an older bra you don’t wear anymore and your problem will go away. The wires are also probably sliding down because they are too tall.
I think that looks great on you 😀 I wonder how Comexim wires in this would hold up?
Thanks Sovavosi and cupandahalf ! You know how I love Comexim, but I dont have any that are unwearably od and dont want to take apart a perfectly good bra... I will go browse all my non fitting bras and look for options that could work. Do I need to pick a bra with similarly sized wires?
I would look for wires that are comfier than these and about the same size or maybe shorter. You can always tack them below where the other wires came up if part of the problem is how tall they are.
This bathing suit was a dream. The only downfall was the center gore pressed too hard against my sternum and left me sore at the end of the day but other than that it was perfect. I felt confident, and secure nothing rode up nothing felt out of place. I'm very picky, but this suit was perfect. I don't regret it.
I have the tanking and I love it!! I've ised it while scuba diving and was great. The gore is horrible but I just putted cotton pad and was good with it :)
Oh what a good idea. I'll have to try that next time, thank you for the advise.
I purchased it on lace.de for only about 35 EUR, and today it just came.
With the first sight, I thought it was huge. However after I put it on, I'm really impressed. The design and the fit are almost perfect for me.
The material is robust but comfy. Compare to the Freya Bandeau Top, the band is tighter. But the plastic hook is easier to close and not scratchy.
Since I started to try bandeau bikinis, I found them are not TTS. This one is also no exception, so I chose a 30G. Although the cups are actually wider and deeper than my other fitted padded bras, the compression is ...just right for my boobs. There's neither empty fabric, nor tissue cutting.
The center gore is even wider and taller than Freya Bandeau Top. It makes a less cleavagy shape but also makes me look younger. I feel I'm not middle 20 any more but a young lady with age 17 instead when I am wearing it.
It's already the late summer but all of our public pools are still closed because of COVID. Hope I can use it in our indoor pool at end of this year. Read more 86 more words
xoxonxkx It's hard to say. The size I choose depends on the measurements from other Bratabase users. For example, I usually start a trial of British brands like Freya, Cleo at 30F (30:7), because their bands are relatively loose. But when I try a European brand such as Hunkemoller, I will start at 70F (32:6), because they have relatively tight band. There are also some brands that not true to size, such as Comexim, I will start at 70HH (32:9). I think this bandeau bikini top is also not true to size, so I chose a 30G (30:9).
By the way, the British size system is different from European size system. There are also French, Australian, Japanese systems which are rarely mentioned.
smjwzhan Thank you for your answer! May I ask you where you bought the Comexim Bra because the Online Shop of Comexim seems to me a bit complicated with the shipping costs.
xoxonxkx I don't think it's very complicated. I order their bras directly from the official online shop. The shipping cost to Germany is 20 PLN (about 4.6 EUR). You can use PayPal to pay all the costs in their shop. However, their delivery is very slow, you should wait for about one month to get your order.
If you have average size boobs, such as 30F, 30FF and don't want to wait so long. Then I suggest you to try Hunkemoller bras. The cup shape and depth ratio of their bras, especially which from "the Kissable" collection, is similar to Comexim bras. They use European size system and their bands are tight. For a normal UK 30F size, you need a 70F in their shop, and for a normal 30FF, you need a 70G.
This tankini is really cute and has been a favorite for years! There is a bright floral panel that runs down the center front, taking up about 50 percent of the width of the front. The sides and back are black. The floral panel is rouched. The effect of the rouching, and the black sides is very slimming. I usually do not care for Panache bras, but this is a winner. This swimsuit is cute for wearing any time, and has enough coverage for wearing to family or lightly active swim times.
The cups are molded. I have found these molded cups that are fairly open on top, maybe ...sort of balconette style, to be very friendly to cup size fluctuations. When I bought this swimsuit I thought I was a 32G (uk), I was probably more like a 30GG. It fit fine then, and was wearable when I was an H cup as well. At a HH cup I could wear it, but was closer to busting out, and was pushing my breasts in to the cup versus swooping and scooping, haha. Many other swimsuits do not play nicely with any size change, and I think it is the cup style on this that makes it so nice. The band stretches to a maximum of 34, which is very reasonable on a 32 band that has been worn for numerous summers. The straps are partially adjustable.
I bought the bikini bottoms with rouched sides. They are fantastic. They continue the floral down the center, lining it up with the tankini top. The rouched and streching sides do a wonderful job of looking slimming and not cutting in to create muffin top. These have moderate coverage on the rear. Read more 184 more words
Amelia broke my heart this summer! It's one of the prettiest bikinis I've ever seen. I am in love with the pattern and stalked it for weeks before finally ordering it, only to find out that it doesn't fit me well. The cups are tall and shallow and it has a wide gore. I'm projected with short roots and close set. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. Full review on my blog.
I ordered it blindly, as I could find very little fit info on it (the few reviews of it I've seen were conflicting and none mentioned shape). But I needed a swim top, I can't afford to spend $70+ on one, and I already had a really cute pair of black high-waisted briefs so I wanted an actual bikini instead of a tankini. This colorway was $35 on amazon in my size.
It. Fits.
The wires are wide, but I expected that to be the case. I had a bit of extra room at the top, but adjusting the straps fixed that. I don't ...really get any wrinkling at the bottom, and so far everything is staying in place - I don't find it to be particularly shallow. The band is stretchy, but comfortably so. The biggest issue I have with it is the clasp is really difficult - I cannot get it fully clasped behind my back by myself, and I can't put on bras backwards and twist them around. I do like the shape it gives me - it's more natural and not super-uplifted, but it's still very rounded at the same time.
My shape is even to full on bottom fullness, with very short and narrow roots, and very pendulous and projected. I'm going to say this top is a good option for anyone who's more FoB or has shorter roots, and it's definitely worth a try since last year's colorway is so cheap right now!
Also, in case I haven't mentioned it, the pattern is really cute. I love the bright flowers and dotted pattern on black mixed with the stripes on the edging and straps.
The real test will be how it holds up when I go swimming (which probably won't be for a few days) but, so far - I'd say it's a winner. Read more 206 more words
I'll begin by saying that this bathing suit top is not my correct size (I usually wear a 32J making it effectively one band size too small and one cup size too big). I bought it simply because I own no bathing suit tops that are even remotely the right size and I found it very cheaply and they didn't have my correct size. I figured that the band would stretch out over time and I could try my hand at altering the cups. Oddly enough, neither of these seemed to be issues. The band was a bit snugger than I'd like, but it fastened and was not ...unwearably tight. And while the cups are definitely too big, the wires are so wide that almost all of the extra space is on the side and fortunately this bathing suit has little panels that cover this up.
Now onto the details of the bathing suit...
As I mentioned the cups were a bit big (but given the fact that they were a cup size too large for me based on the marked size, I expected this). The wires are also very wide and pretty tall as well. They're tall enough that I think if the wires had been a bit narrower, the would have poked me. However, since the wires fell all the way behind my arms, this was not an issue.
The straps are fully adjustable. There is a little decorative layer over the adjustable part that is just a continuation of the side panel which makes them functional without giving as much of a bra look.
The band is too small as mentioned before, but I'm not entirely sure if I would size up if I were to buy it again (though I don't plan on buying another one of this top). I think that if you're towards the smaller end of your band size, sister sizing down may work for you. However, this probably depends on how squishy your back is (sorry, I couldn't think of a better or more technical way to say that). Given that it's a bathing suit, its possible that you may want to not sister size down to avoid having so much digging in since it will be more noticeable than a bra. Another little note though, I really hate the type of clasp that this suit has because it twist.
The gore is by far the biggest issue I have with this bathing suit. I think that the wires may be too short for the channels that they're in because they seem to almost slide down and leave a little pocket of fabric at the top of the channel. This seems to happen only on one side at a time. The wires also seem to move to overlap once this happens. I'll have to play around with it I think to see if there's anything that I can do to mitigate this issue.
Overall, all I can say about this suit is that on me all of the fit issues came together to make it surprisingly wearable. Read more 403 more words
Unfortunate, because it's super cute. After I saw lcl0706's review of the black, I had to try the navy. From the front, it's not bad. But from the side it gives this really unlovely shape. It sort of abruptly cuts in then pushes all my tissue down into a low rounded pointy shape. It's also too wide and the wires would not even pretend to be friendly with my IMF.
No sir, I don't like it.
Anyway, it's really comfortable despite the shallowness. The band was a bit of a bear to fasten, but once on I didn't notice it much. I ...jumped around and bounced a bit and it didn't slide down more than it did initially and I didn't fall out with a bend and shake. So, it's friendly to soft tissue and good for active pursuits and not just tanning.
Despite my issues, it's a cute top and seems well made. I would suggest trying it especially since it's risk free on Amazon. I'm sending this back on Monday. Read more 69 more words
Oh noooes! I'm sorry it didn't work for you. It's too wide and shallow for me too but I don't have super high standards for a swim top. But I see what you mean by the cutting in on top. It looks like your roots are taller than what this swim top will allow :-( It is super cute though!!
My standards aren't that high either, but I have a Cleo Lucille on the way that was $11...so I'd probably overlook the same issues in it versus the $40 (not that that's much, but it's not $11!). Some of it is breast tissue, but a lot of it is muscle. So I get that weird look. You know, I may get it in my J.Crew tops too. I just never photographed them so I wouldn't know. I'm glad to have tried it, because it is cute and if it fit better or was cheaper, I'd likely keep it.
I totally get it! I had a gift card from my brother when I ordered mine so it only cost me $13 out of pocket. It does make a big difference in how picky you can be when you can try something else for way cheaper!
jlcl119,, I just got the 30F, navy, @Panache Britt Halter Swimsuit, the one piece version of your bandeau. It gives me the same squashed down bust shape. The wires dig in at the center gore, too, because I need very low center gores.
I was going to return it, but I noticed it flatters my front, back, and sides, except for the bust. I've wanted a long leg, vintage style one piece bathing suit for a long time. I didn't expect to find one that would suit my body type, but this one does. I'll model it for my bf to see if he agrees.
If he does, I've decided I'll remove the wires, take in the center gore area so the wire channels overlap the top three inches, insert a plunge bra's wires, and make sure they go all the way up the channels under the arms. I hope to achieve a shape resembling what I get from my Ewa Michalak 3Ds or my Masquerade Serenity Plunge. Those are moulded bras, though, so we'll see.
learningaboutbras Oh! Let me know how it goes, sounds like a good way to save a nice suit.
If you are projected and close set with narrow and tall roots, you should probably avoid this bikini top. It would be far more suited to an omega shape than my teardrop, and also a much better fit for someone with firmer tissue (I don't have that at all). The band is also really tight, almost as tight as the 28s I've tried in Panache's Cleo line. Because of the tight band, I can't make perfect comments on fit. The wires are wider than I need, but the band pulled them even farther out, so I was definitely getting a weird fit to start with. As a 30F ...goes, the cup was somewhat shallow on bottom and closed on top. I would almost dare to call this a wider, shallower bra except that the middle part of the cup had projection to it. Just not the center near the gore; that was pretty shallow, but again my assessment there is affected by the tightness of the band. The straps also sat somewhat wide for my tiny shoulders, but that's a normal problem for me.
Note: this is a typical swim snap setup, no hooks and eyes for adjustment.
I have to say, the colorway is still gorgeous, which is why I had to try this even though I was pretty sure it wouldn't work out. Oh well. Goodbye, Panache, we are just not meant for each other. Read more 127 more words
I want to love Panache swimwear soo bad but they never seem to fit me! This top is super simple and cute but has too much center projection for me. It's tight for a 30 which is what I prefer, it's just not perfect for my shape!
Let me start by saying I ordered the wrong size. I’ve since reordered a 30FF to see if I can get a much better fit.
The quality is what you would expect from Panache as far as having a dry swimsuit top goes, I can’t comment on how it is wet since I’ll be returning this. Something that annoys me is the back clasp moves and ends up at an angle. Panache and my shape don’t get along too well, with their wide wires and shallow cups, but I’m in need of a strapless bikini top for an upcoming vacation. Since there isn’t much on the market as far as bra sizes strapless swimwear in white for me, here we are. It does look nice on and the crochet pattern gives it some visual interest and it’s perfect to pair with bikini bottoms of any color.
I really like the look of this one. It's very simple but elegant.
MamaPagan It really is very nice looking. Looks great with all the mix match bottoms I have, even with the subtle crochet pattern. If the 30FF doesn’t fit in the cup I just might take this one in on the band. Might alleviate the twisting clasp. And if it refuses to stay up (I have a toddler I’m constantly bending over for) I just might attach some clear bra straps so I can still get the strapless tan I’m after and still have some support.
This is a well made, pretty bikini top in a cute color. I'm sure it would look great if the cups would fit. It's comfy, except for the rigid Panache wires. The cups are too small for me, so I get an orange in a glass effect. I might try this in 30E, depending on how the teal color works out with the Freya Deco briefs in "ocean".
Oh my, that's quite the quad boob going on! 😬 Bummer, as it is a very nice looking swim top. Simple yet elegant.
