This bra is beautiful, and fit, for the most part. I had a little quadboob in the 32D, while in the 32DD I felt like I was a little shy of filling the top of the cup. The foam padding of the cup kind of compensated. The straps are wide set, but not problematic. It looked gorgeous on its own, but the close set apex projection was more apparent under clothing, and I am not sure it is the right shape for my preferences. I felt a little pointy. I was torn, but ultimately decided to exchange to try something else.

This review is for the new 2016 "Floral Shimmer" black and white colorway, which reportedly fits differently than earlier versions. I can't speak to the fit of the solid colors, as this is the only Charlotte I have. It does not work for my somewhat pendulous, high-, and close-set breasts. I recently lost a significant amount of weight and went from a full 36J to a 30/32G with a lot of soft tissue. The bras that work best for me now are padded half cups. I ordered this one on a whim and, although it gives a nice rounded shape and the narrow wires are comfortable, the cups ... are just too tall and I don't fill the upper part at all. Pretty sure going down a cup size would just cause quadding. One of the hooks bent the first time I tried it on too (and the band was not overly tight, so I think it was just a defect). So, between the hook issue and the too-tall cups, this one is getting returned. It is a very pretty print though!

This was my first online purchase of a non-matrix sized bra. I read as many reviews as I could and the majority said that the both the cups and the band ran small. This wasn't true for me. The band was huge even on the last hook. The cups fit me weird- the gore tacked and I was able to fill out the inner cups but I was floating inside the outer cups. The top of the cup also gaped. I ended up giving this one away.

Oh, glorious day! Something just about fits me, finally!! (In other words, I finally cut the paper tags off of an Amazon bra! LOL)
I love this bra. Purple and black are my favorite colors, and I adore the rich color and unusual style, so I felt strongly about hoping this one would work. After 9 failed bra trials with 30 bands, I downsized to a 28 and that seems to have helped.
The band is very snug and firm. I do hope it loosens just a little. This is the first bra I've worn that let me understand what people are talking about when they say a bra ... creaks. It definitely does! Like other reviewers have said, this is not a bra that would be comfortable to wear all day. I can definitely see myself looking forward to taking it off when getting home. However, it also makes me feel good about how I look with it on, which is priceless to me.
It's not perfect. There are moments when the cup feels too small and I get small amounts of quad. There are moments when it seems too big, because at just the right angle, I get a little bit of gapping in the upper corner. I accept that this says far more about my body shape than about the bra itself. I'd be curious to try this on in a 28E and a 30D or DD. Most reviews for this suggest going up in both band and cup. I'm not convinced that would work better for me, but when I get the chance, I am going to give it a try.
The gore does dig in a little bit...I shoved a piece of make-up sponge foam between my skin and the gore, for now...I am hoping that the band stretches a little and helps resolve that (or I can bend the wires slightly and fix it). But, all in all, this is (by far) the best fit I have had so far. It supports me very well and gives me a nice shape. The thicker padding on the upper part of the cups really helps compensate for my lack of upper breast tissue. The side support is fantastic and the wide set straps aren't a problem (even on my 5'1 frame). It will definitely show under very thin shirts, but at this point, I don't even care! I am just so happy that something seems to work for me!
I have wide-set/splayed/ average-rooted, shallow (from sag), small, deflated upper, very soft breasts. I've also developed an exaggerated tail of spence, which I now believe is from 20 years of wearing ill-fitting padded push-up bras. I was starting to get pretty upset about nothing working for me, when someone reminded me that I may not find a "perfect" fit, and may have to settle for something that's pretty close.

The colors: swoon :-) So lovely!!
drawingdwarf How much are you asking and would you be willing to hold on to it until after the first of January? Between the holidays and simultaneous intensification of the bra search obsession, my bank account is not very happy with me right now! But, I really do want to try the 30D and the red in this (even though I never wear red) looks beautiful.
I have an eye on the matching high-waisted brief (which I can't believe I'm saying). I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off, because I'm short...but I would love to cover my post-pregnancy stomach with something that was matching and cute. Even if it's less than ideal, aesthetically, it would probably do wonders for my confidence...
That, too, needs to wait until next month though!
Thank you, all! It is a relief that something fits enough to reassure me that this is not a hopeless endeavor. :)
sereneindeed I can definitely hold onto it. I've had it for most of a year and never gotten around to getting rid of it. I was thinking around $25? I just bought a bra I don't need and a panty grab bag I definitely don't need so I'm also having to cool it on the bra front.
Even though the bra didn't fit I've been wearing the brief because I love it. Definitely one of my most flattering pair. I'm 5'1" and the brief hits me just a bit below the waist. I'm about 35/28/37 and the small is a good fit, snug but I wouldn't want it to be at all loose. It's not a control brief but it does smooth everything out a bit. And they never give me wedgies.
I love this bra too! So glad it works for you. I especially like the side covage as I have squishy old boobs that just escape easily out the sides. Also going to FF gave 3 hooks.
When i tried this bra in a 32D and 32DD, the height of the cup was the biggest difference. also the apex was in a higher place in the larger size.

This bra is a little too wide in the gore for me at the top. Lightly padded, seamed bra, with no push-up padding. Snug band. Full coverage on me.

very close to fitting, but not enough that i want to keep it at the price i paid. if i can find one super cheap, i might snag it, but this one is going back to amazon. ive only worn it to try on so far, so i cant speak to much of the fit.
the band is firm but not painful, and i expect it will loosen with wear. i love the 3 hooks! the cups are a great width, and the wings are high which is awesome for me and my tall roots. on the right side my armpits to get dug at a bit, but that ... might be the strap placement. the gore is too wide, so it gets shoved side to side a bit and that is one of the main issues. the other is that i get some gaping at the top edges of the cups not nearly as bad as most molded cup bras, and mainly on my less projected right side, but enough that i dont think id like wearing it because gaping irritates me. i think if the gore were narrower, it would probably gape less, because the cup would come closer to the inside edge of my breast tissue. i get the tiiinist bit of quadding on the inner edge of my left side near the gore, but i think im center full so im coming to terms with that possibly always being an issue.
the color is a lovely pale peach, and i like the styling of this bra. its possibly the only non half cup bra ive tried that doesn't have a ton of issues within the cup! im going to try my hand at a used one, and maybe see if i can narrow the gore, but im not terribly confident in my ability to alter things.

This is just a poorly designed bra. The underwire don't have enough padding and dig into my ribs painfully. The angle of the underwires is all wrong, also contributing to non-tacking and extra fabric not being filled at the bottom of the cups. The cup separation is too wide for me so that it doesn't tack.
At least it looks nice.

What has not been said about this perennial best-seller? Great styling and a comfortable fit, as long as you are not too projected ... or you have soft tissue that will cheerfully accommodate the cup's shape.
I had originally tried this in a 38FF, because I perceive myself to be projected (well, I guess that's true) and I was warned that this model is best for wide and shallow breasts. Turns out that you can be functionally shallow if your breast tissue is soft enough, so I went back to my usual Parfait size, 38F. And that works very well. The firm moulded cups hike my breasts up to ... give me a lovely, youthful rounded shape. I have a teensy bit of gaping at the top of my smaller breast's cup, but it's not enough to change sizes. I might pad that side. Or I might not. The wire has a small amount of flex to it, and the "padding" is really more of a thick lining than anything approaching WonderBra territory.
I love the dusty rose colorway, which reminds me of my pink tights and black leotards from ballet class long ago.
