This review is for the new 2016 "Floral Shimmer" black and white colorway, which reportedly fits differently than earlier versions. I can't speak to the fit of the solid colors, as this is the only Charlotte I have. It does not work for my somewhat pendulous, high-, and close-set breasts. I recently lost a significant amount of weight and went from a full 36J to a 30/32G with a lot of soft tissue. The bras that work best for me now are padded half cups. I ordered this one on a whim and, although it gives a nice rounded shape and the narrow wires are comfortable, the cups ...are just too tall and I don't fill the upper part at all. Pretty sure going down a cup size would just cause quadding. One of the hooks bent the first time I tried it on too (and the band was not overly tight, so I think it was just a defect). So, between the hook issue and the too-tall cups, this one is getting returned. It is a very pretty print though! Read more 73 more words
This bra is very difficult to get used to! It took me awhile to break in, and even after breaking it in the straps are too wide and cut in to my armpits. As with other Parfait by Affinitas bras I have, this bra makes me feel and look bigger than I actually am.
I really wanted this one to work for me, but I fear it's another loser.
The fabric is really nice, a light stretchy mesh, would be perfect in the summer. The whole top is stretchy, so it would definitely accommodate top fullness. The color is a nice pale pink, not close to my skin-tone but pretty and delicate. It has 3 hooks, and the straps are a nice distance apart, so it feels pretty supportive.Quality-wise, I'm guessing it's not the greatest, as there are defective stitches (see pic). Also the lace is easy to snag if you have a ring on, etc.
The wires are definitely too wide and ...tall for me, and I keep debating whether I should try to get a smaller cup size since I like it so much, but I think that this style is not so supportive with my FOB, splayed boobs. It doesn't seem like it would do much to bring them in toward the center, but would would probably just flatten them in a smaller size.
This is more of a question, but for some reason I don't understand why when I scoop up all of my tissue, the bra is up way too high on my bigger side, but not on my smaller side - there it is low it enough to be comfortable (notwithstanding the wide wire). This seems to be happening to me in several bras, and I don't know if it has to do with depth or what. Read more 141 more words
These cups aren't deep at all, yet really open. I feel like I'm spilling out, when I'm not. Very odd feeling and fit. It's not supportive, clearly. Kinda hard to feel lifted when the bra barely covers half your breast.
Like most Parfait bras, size up in the band AND cup. The 32 fits like a tight 30. I might even suggest 28 banded girls to get the 32, because the fabric being kind of scratchy and the tightness may acerbate sensitive skin problems.
BRA HAS SINCE BEEN ALTERED SINCE ORIGINAL REVIEW ORIGINAL The jump in the cup size from 32G to 32GG is huge... The band fits more like a 30. I feel all the charlottes flatten you out and don't give u cleavage in the correct size. One size or two smaller and they do. Straps were also very very very wide...I don't know why bra companies do this just because its a bigger cup size doesn't mean the cup has to grow crazy wide and tall... Oh well back it goes to amazon Its a shame because its cute but the cups are so big that there is only ...11ish inches of elastic between the gore on the side when hooked on the last hook. Very cute but not a great shape unless you have really broad shoulder and shallow spread out boobs. Though no space at the bottom of the cup like the 32G and 32FF but i also felt squished. Oh I know! It can be used as a sports bra almost.
NEW So my breasts have grown a bit. It started to sit on my breast tissue because it is so wide at the base of the gore. I altered the gore I think i took it in an inch at the widest spot its so much more comfortable now and i was starting to quad before but now I'm not https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 131 more words
This bra fit ok when my measurements were 30:41, but now that I've gone up at least a cup size I have horrible spilling. Good shape under clothes and great cleavage, but not the most comfortable bra. But if you just need a good, CHEAP bra for going out or certain low cut tops, this does the trick.
This bra is pretty and I like the way it fits, though with the matching panties I am so packing it for my few days of honeymoon in January 2015. The band is very firm, material is very sheer. The straps are 1" but in the front half the elastic is more narrow with the same lace trim seen on the panties sewn onto it from the underside while the back section of the strap is a thicker 1" width elastic without the lace trim.
This is the first bra I ever bought from a swap. I was looking for a bra that gave cleavage - this one definitely does. The bra is just fine other than the fact that everything falls to the middle when I wear it longer than five minutes.
I was concerned with exactly how much padding this bra would have (but ordered it anyway and took the chance) but to be honest the padding isn't any more than you'd find in the average t-shirt/contour bra. It is different from their "half-padded" styles which are essentially half t-shirt bra cup and the upper cup is typically lace or sheer only. From the fit it appears to be one of their more recent seasonal releases that in my experience have had wide wires - definitely a good thing for me. It does have that new-bra starchy feel, so I may actually do something I almost never do when I get a new bra - wash it before wearing it the first time because it's new and it's a bra that fits. The matching panties are cute (plus they don't have that center front seam that I HATE) and the right mix of girly/sexy but comfortable.
The Delphine is a half-padded underwire bra from the AW 2014, there's also a non-padded version - it comes in what they call "autumn print", which is floral on a medium-light cornflower background and a light pink stretch lace makes up most of the upper portion of the cup. The wire is fairly wide like the majority of the last couple of years in parfait bras, and the padding isn't nearly as thick as I'd expected which was a pleasant surprise. I got the matching panty as well. From the minimal time I spent in this bra to make sure I didn't need to return it, it is comfortable and gives a nice rounded shape.
Firm band, just does not work with my shape. I don't know why, but it doesn't give me the rounded shape I usually have in bras, and there is some gaping on top. It's beautiful, but doesn't work for me unfortunately.
obviously, I made a mistake ordering this bra, since it is to big in the cups for me, and I knew that even before putting it on. The most uncomfortable part about this bra is that for me the under wires are to long, they poke under my arms. Also I can not fill the cups in the bottom and there is a disturbing amount of gaping.
I really like the affect of the long line. I like how it is a bit like shape ware, what is all of the reason I wanted a long line bra in the first place and this is a particularly lovely looking one. So it makes me sad that I have to send it back, but keeping it is not an option since the fit is completely off.
This is just a weird fit on me. Parfait runs pretty tight, so I ordered a size up to 32G from my usual 30G. The band is a good tightness, but the cups are too wide for me. It converts to strapless, which I like, and it's so obnoxiously Cute that it even has a princess crown decal in the center, which I love. Such a cute pattern, and with the lace details, it's a beautiful bra.
I usually wear a 30G, but parfait seems to run tight. I could do this up on the middle hooks right away, so seems like it could be good for 30 or 32. The cups seem true to size. They were a bit too big for me, even with the straps tightened all the way. Even tightened all the way, the straps were way too long. They were very pretty, though, with the light pink lace edges. A lot of the pictures make it look a vibrant purple, but really it's almost a stormy gray-purple. I wasn't disappointed, though. It's unique.
Band is surprisingly firm- I'm a 30 and it would do fine. A bit looser than I'd like, so would be totally fine on a true 32, but I could make it work if the rest fit. I love the color and design and everything about the look, but the cups are just a little bit too big for me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I think they MAY be a bit shallow, but I can't tell very well because that could just be the cups being too big for me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />
