  1. I did not want to give up on this bra. I have been searching for an unlined bra made of a knit or cotton fabric that wasn't absolutely hideous. This is pretty much the only one I have found so far (someone, anyone, help me!!). I ordered it in the size that I have had the best luck with at my current weight first (30FF). With the 30FF, the top of the bra cut into my tissue, so I ordered the 30G. I think the fit is pretty great with this one BUT there is a wrinkle on the seam on the right cup. This makes me wonder if the cup is a little too large in this area with a bonus of looking like a nipple through Tshirts. Hmmm. I am not sure, but I want to like this bra so much I might just walk around looking like I have headlights.

    • Thanks for sharing. I, too, have a short frame.

    • ^The comment above was intended for your Deco ;-) Oops.

    • Giggle. The fit looks great! Perhaps washing it will help...? Good luck :-)

Lol, glad I can help! I thought the same thing about washing. I hope so!! Love4Pollinators

Just to say, I can only see it on the t-shirt shot because you mentioned it and I am looking for it.

    • 1

I see what you're talking about on the bra but not the shirt picture. Otherwise, this looks really pretty!

There's the Flirtelle Leila Balconette Bra (7301) which is made of a cotton blend knit. There was also the Claudette Cool Cotton Underwire Bra (CD8008) which is discontinued but there's a few listed here and a few on eBay.

    Fits

I was excited to find a full cup bra in soft, stretchy 100% cotton without irritating seams or edgings, since I am apparently really sensitive to this. Of all the bras I've tried since beginning this Bra-Odyssey, this one fit the best and was the most comfortable. Unfortunately, the softness and give of the fabric wasn't enough support for my 40+ year old boobs, which are so soft they pretty much take on whatever shape they are poured into and are easily mashed by clothes. As a result, I didn't get much lift or projection in this bra under clothes. Because gravity has taken it's toll, I do ... prefer a bit of a push-up effect to give me back at least a little fullness on top, but this bra did not do that. Another consequence of the stretchiness: although I marked the "stretch band length" at 26" -- the point at which the distance between the tips of the wires began to spread, flattening the cup across the top -- the band actually does stretch from 23.5" all the way to 30", which could unwittingly warp your fit if you are above 26".

Another huge problem with this bra for me was that even through a heavy weight white t-shirt, the contrast between skin color through the top lace panel and solid white cotton in the wavy shaped cup showed right through in a really distracting way.

In addition, the workmanship of this bra was poor -- wads of thread in spots and bumpy vertical seams that also showed through clothes. It would be worth buying for $10; not for $50.

For those who are short torsoed, this bra had a very minimal underband width -- just .7 inches including the wire, so the relatively deep gore didn't cause issues, even when sitting.

I had very high hopes for this bra, it looks so well on the model! Here is what I found, the gore is high and a bit uncomfortable, but I could possibly become accustomed to it as it is fairly narrow. The band can stretch unusually far, but feels decently firm and supportive while new. The cup volume is perhaps slightly large for me, because the seams are rumpled and don't quite lay flat, but the wire width feels nice. The top lace portion of the cup has a narrow rubber elastic strip that digs in a tad on me. It looks rather rough under a t-shirt- all lines and ripples. Overall it's pretty and fairly comfortable.

I’m returning it because it is too small and has a couple of shape problems. I’m too FoT, even with the stretch lace the top of the bra cuts in to the breast tissue a little bit. It wrinkled at the bottom and I don’t fill out the sides. The band also rode up a little. I like the basicness of the bra and the material, but it’s pretty cheaply made for almost 60 dollars.

Wow, this bra has such a stretchy comfy cup...if the wires fit me. Having close set breasts, I have mostly been trying on plunges. But some people say that a high gore can work, too. Not on this bra! It seemed to fit fine in the cup, and the measurements show that it should fit me, but I had to take it off quickly, b/c the pain on my ribs was severe. And the band is plenty big enough. So if you have a normal distance between your breasts, I recommend this on!

Tess is basically the unlined bra version of the Parfait Dalis Bralette, which I quite enjoy. I ended up picking up Tess in the same Bare color as the Dalis Bralette I already have. Both are made from a cottony-looking modal blend fabric that is soft and comfortable, and both are decorated with lace details, although the lace is different between the two styles.

In terms of fit, Tess actually works pretty well on me. It is a 4 piece side support cut that is a little bit similar to Ava, but overall the bra measures a little bigger than Ava. Therefore, it fits well ... on my larger side, but the cup is a little empty on my smaller side. I plan to wear this with foam inserts though for shaping, so this isn't a big deal. Note that the side support panel is actually just a 4th piece of fabric and is not a true side support, since it does not have any additional reinforcement to push tissue forward.

The fabric for this bra is knit jersey with 5% spandex, so the cups have a bit of natural stretch. I think this would look best if the cups run a little tight, because the seaming is quite thick, and will definitely show under clothing. I get a much smoother appearance wearing this bra with the foam inserts than wearing it without, though the seams are at least slightly visible either way. Overall, cup shape seems to be balanced and rounded, and would be best for even shapes. The upper cup lace is stretch, and is finished with a strip of clear stretch elastic, so it should not cut into tall roots and can accommodate some upper fullness.

My only concern with fit and comfort is around the wires. While the wire shape is much more of a gentle C curve than other Parfait styles, the wires are quite long, and for some reason when I pull the band snug, the wires tend to roll inward, so the upper portion of the gore digs in a bit, while the bottom floats a little. The outer edge of the cup feels fine though, and the wires aren't too narrow. I'll see if I can bend the wires away at the gore a bit for comfort.

The band is soft, comfortable, and well-made with the same outer jersey modal fabric and an inner lining of mesh for additional stability. There's a small strip of plastic boning for stability as well, which I always like, but some people find uncomfortable. This is a full cradle style, though the elastic running through the top and bottom aren't particularly wide or firm, so it will probably not be particularly snug. Straps are a bit disappointing as they are simple narrow satin elastic. While they are fully adjustable, I don't feel the narrow width is appropriate for full figure bras, and plain texture means they can easily slip. This and the visible seams are probably the only design elements I think were not well-thought out. The only trim is a small bow at the center gore.

I think this is a great style with all the comfort of an cotton bra, but beware of the visible seams. If possible, I would size down in the cup as long as the wires still fit, as a snug fit in the cups will result in a better appearance. It seems to run just a little big in the cups, almost a half size.

The cups ran a bit small in this one for me so I sized up. Lace elastic edge cuts into bigger breast ever so slightly, but not enough to make a difference. My smaller breast has a little extra room so can't size up. The gore dug into my sternum a bit, but this was mostly resolved by bending it back w the help of some pliers for stabilization. The band seems to run a bit snug; think I will try a 34dd. I may keep this anyways-- the first bra I have tried that I can say actually fits!!

      Looks lovely on you!

I would not size up in this if I were you! The band will stretch with wear and wash! I looks really good and I am glad it is comfy. It looks like you could still push it up into your IMF just a little bitty bit.
Wanted to note to you that these wires are about the same width as your curvy Kate bras. I think you just prefer a more full coverage, taller side wire/wings than the curvy Kate bras you have tried.

    • LeProfessor, I think you are right about preferring fuller coverage. I have always worn full coverage bras. I have worn the VS perfect fit bra for at least 5 years or so, and it pretty much encapsulates your boobs.

Any recommendations for bras w similar fit/wires that are fuller coverage/higher wings?

Very slight wrinkling at mid bottom of cup. Lace cut in very minimally at the top of the cup, but is stretchy and wasn't very noticeable.

Cup didn't quite encompass everything on the sides, so there was some wrinkling. I've not had this problem yet with a bra, so this bra could potentially be geared towards a wider root (I'm more average).

Band/cup was accurate and material was comfortable. Did not give me any shape though.

Depending on the shape you prefer, this bra might be better for someone with more rounded breasts as opposed to conical.

Bra is not lined, so I would feel a little exposed.
