This was my first bra purchase in an appropriate size and although it is not exactly a perfect fit, fits well enough that I am pleased and continue to wear it regularly. The entire bra is made of soft stretch lace and for this reason is very forgiving being slightly too small in the cup, but does give the smallest amount of overspill at the top, but not enough that is visible under clothing. I am not sure if the brand runs large in the band, or if it is the material, but the 36 fits very comfortably, and my usual size is a 38.
OMG, I have never seen anything so ridiculous in my life! I sized down in the band, but this one fit on the longest hook, just the way it is supposed to. But the cups!!!!! It's crazy narrow and very projected, and with only one dart for shaping in the cup, combined with the 1/4" elastic along the top edge of the cup...my, oh my...can can anyone say "pencil tip"? This is worse than the 50's pointy look. Now mind you, I have a short, average root, and projected shape. That top elastic edge is great for short roots, but it quadded even on me. The cup was filled out but that one dart leaves a very unpleasant ending point. Too bad, too, because it is otherwise a beautiful bra.
I came across this bra deeply, deeply discountend ($20! Whaaaat!) in an absolutely stellar colorway (topaz, a nice deep turquoise, my crummy pictures don't do it justice). I said in my other review that it was a little ho-hum in terms of shape, but I think I was maybe underselling this bra a little. Sure, it's no megaboost pillowy hills of wonder, but it's definitely not part of your (grand)mother's wardrobe, either. The modesty is better than with an unlined bra (and honestly, I've given up caring much about headlights - we all have nips!) and it does shape without stiffness and has significant projection for a bra ...without seems in the cup. It's crazy comfortable, supportive, and completely invisible under a t-shirt. Very well-made, stellar quality. The lace is 'loose' on the cup, and shines when the light hits it; the bra in general is soft, lightweight and fleixble. This is a perfect everyday bra. One consideration: though not a full-cup, and there's no wrinkling, there could be less cup on top for me. I'm unsure if a D would have been slightly better: the wires are perfect, and my larger breast needed a little readjusting, but I would have tried on a D had there been one. (I am a 65E in SP unlined styles but a D in the Caressence.) Band is tight enough for me - I've come to appreciate the support these bras give without having to be as tight as my Cleo's, say. Even a slightly loose Cleo is a horror show, my Simone Pereles just seem to move with me, even though the measurements and the stretchiness might suggest otherwise. Read more 168 more words
A beautiful bra! Gorgeous lace on the double layer band. Comfortable amount of TTS stretch. (Wings are very tall.) Comfortable partial band in the front. Soft spacer fabric, tall cups. Good breathability for summer. (Does not hide headlights.) Gore is very narrow at the top; 2" at the bottom. Decent amount of center projection. Scallop patterned straps are fully adjustable. (Wide in front; kicked in, in the back.) The colorway 'Sand' (name on Amazon order) is a very pretty, neutral shade of taupe. (The name on the bag it arrived in says 'Muscade Skin'.)
Bottom line for me personally (short roots, short torso, center fullness, average width, average projection)... Fits well, except...wings are too tall and cut into my armpits; cups are too tall and buckle below the straps.
The light, breathable cups are wonderfully accommodating for assemytry. The band, however, is very stretchy & doesn't offer much in the way of support. The shoulder straps are also disappointingly flimsy and only partially adjustable.
This bra worked well for me when I was smaller, but now I just need more support (and cup space) than what this bra can give me.
Construction & detailing is superb! This price point is definitely an accurate representation of the quality.
Sadly, this bra is too small for me. The gore doesn't tack & I get tissue splling out of all sides. The straps are also VERY wideset so no matter how far I tighten them, they still slip down. The band, for a Simone Perele, also seems tighter than the other models I have tried.
I really like how light & flexible the cup molding is. It almost has a minimizing affect which comes in handy for button-downs & dresses.
This would be my favorite bra.... if it actually fit. I love the color, the style and the design elements. In this size the cups are just a tad small, and the wire pinches on some tender point on my left side. (sometimes) I can only wear it at my smallest time of the month. The band is large, also, easily stretches beyond the listed size. My choice style of bra is a spacer, and this would be absolutely perfect if it was available one cup size larger, and maybe, one band size smaller.
The fitter insisted I put this on, so I reluctantly did. By the end of the visit, this was the only bra I purchased. It's gorgeous! Beautiful color, very comfortable, really nice uplifted, round but not exaggerated shape. The lace is very sexy, might peek out of certain tops, but if the plunge is narrow this bra is great because there's almost no gore (and I don't spill out in the middle, yay!) the lace wasn't really visible through the t-shirt I was wearing, though that was kind of loose-fitting. The lace does lie flat against the skin. I was sad though, because when I got home it ...looked like mine have some quality issue wrt the stitching on the band, but we'll see. This was an EXPENSIVE bra, so hopefully it isn't an issue.
Update. After wearing this for a while, I am changing my opinion about the fit. It's still a gorgeous bra that I don't actually feel while wearing, but I don't think it's projected enough for me. I definitely cannot wear this with the cookies in, but even without I think the cups slide down a little (and the band slides up). When I take it off, there's marks in different places; in part it's from the fabric on the inside, but I also think it's the wires sliding out of my IMF and onto my tissue. I might try scooping and swooping more diligently and tightening the band, but because the fitter urged me not to I am hesitant to do that, haha.
Still not entirely sure on the breast shape. Fairly projected, and at least functionally FOB (current guess: short roots, fairly even). Root width: who knows. Read more 176 more words
So so pretty! Very feminine and sexy look, love it. No modesty though - your headlights will be out there. Shape is perfect, and the stretchy lace cups accommodate tissue well. I thought the elastic on top was cutting in (it's pretty closed on top!) but judging by my shirt it's really not. Narrow wires, perfect for me. Band is stretchy and not super tight, not sure how long it'll be wearable. Very comfy - I feel naked?
This is a gorgeous and comfortable bra, great fit in the cups. Smooth shape, fairly natural. Comparable to the Andora, I'd say, in terms of fit. Band is loose-ish and stretchy (but not atypically so for SP) but not uncomfortable, wide enough to feel stable. Kind of an issue: the moulding, while it gives a great fit and is smooth and soft to the touch, doesn't do much (or basically anything) in terms of modesty. Your headlights will be out there! I was looking for a different colorway (all they had in the store was dark gray/anthracite) and more modesty so did not purchase. However, if it had been on sale... maybe. I haven't had SP bras long enough to determine how bad the stretchiness is over time. (If I can wear it on the second or third hook for a while then, the band thing doesn't bother me.)
Band runs a little loose (looser than Andora, Wish) and the cup runs a tad small. I think it's mostly the wires being on the slightly narrow side, and the cup is more closed off at the top than I expected. Would have tried a 65F if there was one in the store, but 65E was too small. Very pretty, subtly feminine bra with gorgeous details, soft, quality material.
This bra was a great fit for me and actually gave a pretty nice, rounded, uplifted shape. Good quality, bad fairly tight and firm for SP. Just the lace detailing... made me feel about a decade older than I actually am. Didn't buy.
One word: comfortable! Ok maybe three: it's also well-made and supportive. The band is nice and wide, not too stretchy and TT. However, it does run a little full in the cup, so I sized down from a 65D to a 65E. Had to do some thorough scooping and swooping to not quadboob but definitely the better fit. Invisible under t-shirts as far as lines go, but I would describe this as a full-cup bra, so skimpier shirts may not combine well. The shape is, well, bland, and the nude I tried was more of a sand/nutmeg that I was not in love with. Update: also tried this in a colorway that was more nude for my skintone... still not loving it. Makes me feel old!
I am so sad to let this one go :[ It is sooooo beautiful. And sooooo French... And it was 60% off at Nordstrom Rack, but it's just the wrong size and shape for me.
Me: Super squishy // low-set // east-west/splayed // center full // mostly even top-bottom (but the squish makes everything a wild card) // still trying to figure out my roots--tissue begins near clavicle but top projection starts below armpits when standing; some side tissue esp. on larger side // immediate projection // asymmetry (large left and low right)
On me, the shaping of this bra is akin to that of Cleo Pixie ...Balconnet Bra (7481) (30F) and Cleo Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) (32F). All felt good, are well made and so very pretty, but they all have the same strange horizontal profile similar to this \_)-(_/ from a top view. My tissue is sharply flattened from the outside edge of the wire to the front seam/apex. It occurs to me that padded/molded push up bras may have a similar structure hidden behind the additional material surrounding the cup, like so: (\_)-(_/)
I've only recently started my search for bras that fit, so perhaps this is a personal preference vs. a fit issue? The cut certainly tames my east/west splay, but that's the cost. I'm not sure what shapes would work for this bra. I envision this could've been under the clothes of Jean Seberg in Breathless...
I should also clarify that my main issue with this one is that the band is too big; with Pixie I couldn't fill the top cup/lace; and with Hettie I had severe quadding where the cup and lace met and awful wrinkling all over the cup. The side flattening is the only issue I see them having in common.
In summary...
Cons: *Wrong size in a very stretchy band *Side flattening *Wires too narrow *Wings too low *Better fit but less comfort when converted to criss-cross
Pros: *Elastic at top of cups provides the slightest bit of security without cutting into tissue (common issue for me) *Hidden gore reinforcement (so while it may appear to be fully banded, the elasticity of the band and top layer of mesh do not affect cup separation) *Lightweight and comfortable *Thoughtful and unique design *Convertible (G-hooks) *Fully adjustable straps *Oh-so sexy... I once heard this spacer bra had a tighter band than other SP models, but it came to me more used than expected and so the band is pretty big https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> should have asked for more pictures and measurements.
The cup shape is nice. The wires stay narrow and the cups aren't too tall. The straps are only half adjustable.
I thought European sizes are supposed to be standardized?
Before I ordered this, I read other reviews that said this bra stretches quite a bit, thus runs big in the band & then small in the cup. THEY WERE RIGHT! I normally fit best into a 32 band, so with the reviewer's suggestions, I ordered a 30. The 30 fit me just snug enough but not too tight, on the longest set of hooks . I also ordered 1 cup size up...I think I needed 3! The cups on this are so ridiculously small it is laughable. Quads everywhere...and I certainly don't consider myself large. As for the fabric and such, it is a beauty: very pretty embroidery around the bottom front edge, it's soft, elegant and (I think) supportive.

I bought this bra on sale. I don't think it's worth the full price because it is quite expensive and I can't say that the shape it gives to the breast is excellent (definitely not comparable to moulded bras or Prima Donna bras) even though it is very comfortable.
