It's technically "lightly lined", but there is a little bit of padding in the sides and bottom so it pushes your breasts towards the middle and upwards a tiny bit. It doesn't work as a push up bra because the "pushing" is very minimal, and I think the padding is there for comfort. Haven't worn it too much so the band has not stretched out yet. Because of the too big band, most bras this size causes some gapping. Surprisingly, this has caused significantly less gapping. If it fits you, I would recommend it.
Dark blue with pink inside and at the back colorway
Triangle bikini top. Had a wide band and everything tied, so I figured I would try it for less than $10. It's more like a 30D/32C/34B? Laughably small on me, anyway! Size tag says XL, but its an Asian XL the eBay description said. Really cute!
Another sweet bra from Scharminkeltje https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> (my cups runneth over https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" /> A very pretty shear pink bra with feather-design embroidered non-stretch cups. However, my breasts don't fill them completely, and the band is a little too large and stretchy. I will pass this one on.
Don't want to be more OCD-like than usual, but none of your new bras are accompanied by pics ^^ you have to tick some box in the pictures section of the bra description to make them show.
Surprisingly good, it has a pretty snug band so even though it's a 32/70 i can comfortably wear it with a 27.5inch under bust, i'll probably edit this later to add how well it washes.
This bra is pretty much a waste of time . It is orange. It is a foam t-shirt bra with no center gore , little thin straps . I can't read what the label says because it's worn off the tag.
I have started to wear N Cup bras but they are so hard to find.
When I tell people what bra size I am people just look at me and say nothing.
I have put a picture of myself wearing one of my N Cup bras but I did not like the shape I like a pointy look but I can not find any bras in my size with a nice pointy look.
I was reading on here that a girl was having trouble finding L Cup bras I am sure she understands what it's like for me.
Is this an American or European size N? or a British size N?
How pointy do you want the cups to be... are we talking ordinary mid-twentieth-century pointy, like the Triumph Doreen, or really super pointy?
I live in England so it's a British size N I like my bras pointy like my profile photo I had to sell this bra because it became to small to wear Aggggggggggg If anyone knows where I can purchased large cup pointy bras please let me know I might be able to do some work on them so that they fit.
Band size too big, cup too small for me. Cute bra, black with white polka dots. Not sure of the brand but it says "Revelations" on the tag. Super comfy material, kind of squishy, it's comfortable. Causes quad boob. Hardly worn, convertible straps. Padding.
dbmamaz Thanks! :) I think so, but not quite yet. They both seem to be a fit but they need some work:
I need to get the lace reworked on the back of the Charlotte Russe, and i think it will be fine.
The Forever 21 has a zipper that I need to figure out how to get closed with the tension on it. It has an elastic panel in the back.
I'm not sure exactly what the picture is of, sort of looks like part of the laces found in corsets...?
Yes,valentine556 I will retake pictures. Jj rejected my pictures, I think because I photographed them both together?
Yeah, that's probably why, you have to take separate pics.
And I think that Charlotte Russe is the name of the brand, not the model :)
Yes, Scharminkeltje; they are both corselettes (?) without cups, so I didn't think it would matter. Ah, well, live and learn. I will take separate photos later today when I have time, and upload them.
Yes, Charlotte Russe is the brand-name. I'll fix that too. :)
Now that I see the pics.... wowowowowowoowow it's pretty!
Thanks, Scharminkeltje I thought it was pretty sweet, especially for $4! :)
Very cute, it looks like you could even swap out the boning so that instead of plastic it has at least spiral if not spiral and spring/flat steel so that it actually cinches without needing to fear the moment that a plastic bone snaps and/or rips through the corset fabric.
Fashion corsets have always been so disappointing for me, since they're often so beautiful yet nowhere near as strong as they need to be in order to create the "super dynamic hourglass" shape. :)
So, valentine556 Where does one acquire spiral and spring/flat steel to do a swap-out? Is it stainless?
Look up corset making supplies on google! :)
Thanks! :)
valentine556 So when you say using "spriral and spring/flat steel do you mean alternating between the two, or combining the two into each of the pockets?
It depends. The spring/flat steel are typically found in the boning channels closest to the grommets for the laces for stability reasons. The spiral steels are then used in the remainder of the boning channels. Fashion corsets with plastic boning generally make the torso look like a cylinder wrapped in pretty fabric. Not exactly what most have in mind when they buy a corset that's not adequate in structural design for any waist cinching. If there's no waist tape and it's not added after the fact, special care should be taken to not strain the corset structure with tight-lacing. Basically even with some upgrades there are limits to what one can or should expect from the corset - my guess is that it would be able to handle a 2" reduction but 4" on a regular basis will eventually - much sooner rather than later - kill the corset.
Ok, thank you valentine556! Now I'm understanding better! And the waste tape would run horizontally to reinforce the center? : )
Yes, however, adding waist tape to a corset will require figuring out how to do it without stitching through the boning channels - technically if the tape is only stitched down on the inside in the spaces between each channel it should be enough, but will be visible on the outside too unless you take the layers apart and that's even more complicated to put back together successfully. :) Might be better off getting a corset with the waist tape and steel bones for tighter lacing and the upgraded boning corset for lighter duty wear.
valentine556 OK, thanks for the info! I'll take a closer look at and do some pondering! : )
Sorry I am not able to do the measurements so they are not correct.
Does anyone like the look of this bra ?
I love the vintage look! What a shame there is no label. Where did you get it?
Wendybien Thank you for your comment Interesting you think it has a vintage look. I am sorry I can not remember where I got this bra from. My bust measures 46ins at it's fullest wearing this bra my under bust measurement is 34ins but I like 38 bands I think I should be wearing a size 36 band.
Yes, the horizontal seam across the cup and the lace upper/solid lower cup design are typical of pre-1980s bra designs. That's why it allows so much projection (unlike many later designs which try to create a rounded shape, which can be a problem for many of us; I find that construction uncomfortable in most cases). Some of my bras are designs that have been sold continuously for 40 years!
I picked this bra up at a thrift store about 10 years ago. As the pristine label shows, it has not been worn much at all. When I purchased it, my bra preferences were different, so will offer this up as a giveaway. It is vintage, non-underwire. It is interesting that it has a model number, but I can't find a brand name on it anywhere.
The fit is horrible in general digging under wires, boobage spillage. But I can wear the hooks on the first setting/don't have to tighten the straps all the way plus they're perfectly placed for my narrow shoulders. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> overall not to pleased with the fit
To be honest I like the teal color plus the straps are fully adjustable for my short torso. Not very pleased with the fit though but I'm at a loss of what size to go to next because the only C-DD sizes here are 38-44 and my ribcage measurement is only 28-26 inches depending. From a side view the bra does not cover the whole breast root and as you can see from the front *shudders* the boobs are ascending from their too small caves.
www.brasizecalculator.tk Try this calculator, it's one of the most accurate ones out there and will give you a great starting point of what size to look for.
this is some strange hand me down from my mom - no tags no labels or anything. didn't fit at all: straps didn't adjust long enough so the tight band kept riding up and cutting my tissue off.
Green bra. Very comfortable. I have a problem with straps being too wide set. I like the strap placement on this bra. I like the low center gore. I know the band is too big for my ribcage but this bra doesn't ride up at all. For being such a cheap bra, the bra seems like it's pretty well made. It cost $5.79 on E-bay.
ive been having problems finding bras in my size that are affordable so im trying to work with sister sizing and shortening the band. to do this alteration experiment i bought a 5 dollar bra at walmart, so the bra is terrible quality. The band fits perfectly on me but the cups still turned out ill fitting. my breasts dont fill out the bottom of the cup so i have this fold of fabric that shows up and my breasts have a quad-boob because of it, the cups on this bra also go to far back toward my armpit, and the wings are too tall for me as well. Im happy with my alterations on this bra but the cups are not right for my shape.
How much are you taking in the band? Altering a bra can work if you are going down one or two sister sizes... not so much if you're trying to go down 4 band sizes. The proportions of a 40D and, say, a 32G are very different.
yeah, i think you are right and trying to alter with that big a difference will not work out for me, ive been mulling over this bra all day. (i only did the alteration thursday.) i think shortening the band pulled the cups back too far and that caused the cup issues.
True, but also a large band, small cup bra usually has a wider and shallower shape. What size do you think you need?
32:9 i think would work for me, i haven't gotten to try on anything quite to size though. since this experiment didn't quite work out and i cant find any bras near by with a more equal sister size I've decided that my best option would be to stop lollygagging and just buy an appropriately sized bra on here instead.
Great for nice cleavage in a low cut top. Provides support, but I only recommend it for special occasions as the support is less than that of a regular bra. This bra has only been tried on, never actually worn.
