This is an old bra. I’m talking, this was when I only went to VS, and they told me I was a 32DD. Ha! As you may have guessed, this bra’s size is a 32DD as well... I’m a 28H/HH.
But I thought I would upload this anyways despite the amount of dislike I have towards Victoria’s Secret!
There is a lot wrong with this bra. I haven’t worn it in forever, and it’s sad to see just how bad the quality really is. The material is not the best, but I will say you are getting what you pay for (kind of) since it is from VS which is ...an easily accessible company which has alright prices (this bra is listed as $49.50 as of now).
But let me get into the sizing and fit issues. Again, I want to preface that this size wasn't for me! So, maybe if you actually were a 32DD, this could work.
The cups leave gaps at the top— I will say this bra is full-coverage, and I am bottom heavy. These two don’t go very well hand-in-hand (in my experience). There’s wrinkling, gaping under the straps and the band is higher up on the back than it should be.
This may just be me, but it was very difficult to clasp the hooks on this bra. It may be the quality or some other factor, but I usually can clasp hooks fairly easily. I noticed the clasps are a bit too close to the actual band, making it difficult to get the clasp under the hook.
To be honest, I really do not have anything good to say about this bra. It’s mediocre at best. I’d advise to not support VS, but that’s my own opinion. Read more 181 more words
I never thought in a million years I would like Victoria's Secret, let alone have become slightly obsessed with their bras.
Let me set the scene. I live in the UK. I discovered my "true" size approx 3 years ago, going from a 34D to a 30DD. I now wear a 30E or F usually. My impression of VS up until the last month was solely based on other people's experiences from reading about bad fittings and company attitudes on online blogs and seeing their somewhat irresponsible advertising and imagery which very much does not appeal to me. I went to Birmingham a couple of months ago where ...they had a VS store, and I figured I go in and have a look around, hoping to have a giggle at the nasty diamante encrusted push up tack and feel smug about how supportive the bra I was wearing was. However, my plan failed when I saw a couple of unlined bras I really liked (basically the only two unpadded items in the shop!). I tried one style in a 32DDD (E UK) and the other style in 32DD. The fit was really pretty good...and those designs and materials were gorgeous. Anyway, I promptly left after deciding I couldn't let myself be sucked in and the fact they're like £40 a go meant this was not a decision I wanted to make quickly. On my way back home to my home town of Bristol, I had a vague recollection a VS was opening...and googled it to find it had already opened, 5 mins walk from where I work! So anyway to cut a long story short I have been lurking in the shop more than it is healthy trying to find the two unlined bras in a 32DD as they NEVER have them in stock. Eventually gave in and ordered online (!!! madness) and then they stuffed up the order and sent me this bra instead of the other style I ordered (I also ordered this bra in light blue which actually fits slightly differently to this one!). BAH!!!
But - this bra is a great fit on me. I measure 30.5 underbust and was worried this may be too big as it is my first 32 bra. However I wore it comfortably on the loosest hook today although think I will definitely be utilising the others fairly shortly as fully stretched this does measure 32 so is true to size. There are 4 sets too which I'm pleased about. For me this design is KILLER! It reminds me very much of my Parfait Caroles except this guy has a gorgeous crochet over the lower boob part rather than lace. The upper cup is a thin mesh. The main difference between this and Carole (and what made me desperate to try this) is that this is a plunge - there is barely a gore in that it doesn't even really come up between my boobs. Sometimes the high gore on my Caroles irritates very very slightly, so to have such a similar design without that one teeny failing is AWESOME! The wires on this are slightly narrower I think, another slight reservation that I had, but I actually think this wire follows my natural breast root better than any other bra. It is very comfy and materials so soft. With no visible seams and no labels the band's interior and exterior are both completely smooth. For all VS's advertising bullshit, they seem to make some smart choices with the designs of their items. Another one is that although the straps are only half adjustable (as they get wider from the top of the shoulder down to the cups), you can detach them at the back and make them into a crossover back. I haven't tried this yet, but it's a great way to provide an alternative/racerback way to wear as well as making the half adjustable issue more wearable for more petite ladies.Smart, huh?
Time will tell with this one how good the quality is and how quickly the band stretches out. If these two factors hold up though, this might be a bra I basically buy in every colour.
Whilst VS have some clear failings, they've pleasantly surprised me in many ways so far. I must say I do feel slightly ashamed of this blossoming love but it's also pretty awesome to have a shop in my city that sells beautiful things that fit me well (albeit at a rather inflated price). Arghh I feel like I'm selling out the large cup community and am battling slightly with my initial judgements of the company and how I feel now. But yeah, great bra if you fit in the size range! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" /> Read more 700 more words
I dont think you are the only one to find they actually like some VS bras. A lot of the venom towards VS comes from their awful sizing advice, esp for people who really are not in their size range. Its cute!
I've come across a few unlined VS bras that I really like as well. And like you I'm a 30DD (sometimes 28E), and I get 32D. They're a lot more comfortable than most of the bras I have. I have a longline version of this bra you have coming to me soon.
Prettyncharmeuse Ooh I saw the longline version on the clearance section of their website in my size the day after I placed my order, d'oh! And it's down to like £14. I would soooo have bought! Never mind though :-) Hope it works for you. dbmamaz that's a relief, makes me feel a little better to hear that a lot of people aren't immune to VS's charms! I completely get that they only stock a small size range and abuse a position of trust to mis-fit and sell people bras that don't fit them, and I believe that's wrong. That's why I'm torn because I don't like the idea of buying things from a company who think that is acceptable way to do business/treat people. The horrible irony is that this year I've specifically wanted to "vote with my money" to get into smaller, more ethically made brands. And what do I do? Sell my soul to the biggest lingerie company in America! Eek :-/ damn them for opening a shiny store in my home town ha.
I'm always torn with this whole 'buy local' thing . . . i mean, I mostly buy groceries and paper goods. I do buy some bras from EM, which is a small woman-owned business, but certainly not local! I buy veggies at the farmers market when its open. but . . . most everything else comes from amazon, target and kohls. there arent very many small stores near me anyways.
This bra looks fabulous on you! I don't have much VS experience - the ones I've seen were mostly padded, so I thought that's all they made. I don't think you should worry about the VS image - it fits and you like it, so it's a success.
emsiepie I'm happy you found a bra that works well for you! Thanks for sharing your story of guilty love, which made me smile. That Victoria's Secret does serve some customers' needs well doesn't mean you've betrayed the full bust community at all! I didn't know VS made unpadded and unlined bras. That's good to know.
I have a VS unlined bra for sale actually - it was the last 'almost fits' bra I bought - I think a 32DD demi. I wore it maybe twice before getting pregnant (yeah, I think it was my lucky bra lol) and never wearing it again. its older of course, maybe before the pushup padded ones were so popular?
erispe Aww thank you. I'm trying to not overthink the whole image/ethics thing with VS items but I reckon it'll take me a while to get over it! (haha two more bras might do it! ;-)) @learningaboutbras Omg "guilty love" sums it up perfectly, ha! :-) you hit the nail on the head there!
My shape (I'm slowly learning more about this): teardrop, splayed, even fullness, average projection, low on chest.
This is a pretty bra. I love the color, and the it's higher quality and the lace is softer than I expected for Vicky's. It's mesh-lined sheer lace with just a little bit of thick-ish opaque lining in the bottom of the cup, which I assume gives it it's "push up" quality.
I think the push-up aspect is what messed up the fit for me. The band is snug and level, but the gore doesn't quite tack (I can fit one finger between the top of it and my sternum). The ...top of the cup doesn't cut into my breast, per se, but there is a lot of extra tissue on top. This may very well be the style, but I don't feel secure in it - I was waiting for nipple slippage. After swooping and scooping I had to do some strategic arrangement to cover the nipple, so I think the cups might be too small. Either that, or it's a shape mismatch and would work better for someone more FoB. The straps also feel like they're too far apart and might slip off my shoulders. Read more 96 more words
This bra is surprisingly well-made. I liked everything about it except the cross-back straps. Full review of this bra and the gin floral colorway on my blog https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
It's been a while since my last review, sorry! I expected to hate this bra - I mean, Victoria's Secret and I don't exactly have the best history - and while it didn't work out for me because of the strap configuration (ugh, cross-back, why?!), it definitely did the job of a lightweight sports bra. In my size range, I would say it could double as medium support. If only size consistency and range were improved, I would recommend this sports bra as a lightweight option. Helpful! I'm looking to start trying more 32DD and 32DDD bras, specifically wire free ones. I wish more information was available. One day I guess I'll have to just go in Victoria's Secret and see if anything at all works.
Helpful review! Thanks!
I love the color & look. Hawaiian meets Aztec- very nice look to it!
annabellynn It's worth a browse, and at least they have sales often. Good luck!
I normally don't fit well in Victoria's Secret bras unless I take in the band at the sides/back, and also the center front gore. This is a bra I tried when it first came out and it did not fit right at all. But I was in VS yesterday and asked if they had 32DD in stock (normally they don't even carry 32C in my area, nevermind in D or DD) and luckily there was one, so I tried it on and it fit pretty good (they must have changed the shape because this one fit much better and it was the same size I had tried a ...year ago). The only reason I like VS bras is because they are really comfortable! They might be loose in certain areas, but it's nothing a little needle and thread won't fix. They're slightly cheaper - price wise - than Panache and Freya, not that great of a size range, but their fabrics and elastics hold up much better than those 2 brands, in my opinion.
Mine is the DD cup, so there is a sliver of padding at the bottom of the cup. It really is just a subtle uplift. I don't look any different in it than I do the Freya Deco (minus the fact this one sits a little lower in front). The cup itself is a bit more than just lightly lined, about 1/4" thickness at the center of the cup, which tapers to 1/16" at the tops of the cup. Great for no show-through. The straps are fully adjustable, with rhinestone detailing on the fronts. The center gore is about the same width as my size 28 bras, so it's better than most in this size at keeping you front and center. I realize it's 2 full band sizes bigger than what I should be wearing but for some reason, certain styles from VS run a little smaller in the band than other styles and brands. When I put this bra on, I was really impressed. It's so soft! The material is very light and smooth. I love the appearance. For reference, my shape: full on bottom, center full, narrow roots Edit: When I wear it for a full day, the gore starts to dig into the breast tissue a little. I think it might be too wide of a gore.
Mission: Fight my way through the semi annual sale crowd and see if any Victoria's Secret bras work for me. I do enjoy some of their panties so I'm there either way. After some digging through bras I started to go by feel - I know their padded bras aren't going to work for me since I need that space in the cups. And most of their bras are super padded, so this quickly narrowed things down.
The result: This bra
This bra definitely doesn't have enough cup depth for me, but I like it pretty well. Similar fitting bras from other brands become uncomfortable due to the too shallow/too ...small fit, but this one is pretty comfy and provides a good shape. The cup is open enough on top that there is minimal cutting in on the tissue that doesn't fit in the cup.
This bra does make me realize the quality of other bras that I take for granted. After about a month of wearing 2-3x a week, this one is looking a faded along the wire and armpit areas. Meanwhile my beige Wacoal bras are hardly faded after 8+ months.
I would never pay full price for a VS bra, but they have pretty good sale prices so I would recommend exploring if you can sister size into their sizes. Plus, they're everywhere online for cheap - though being able to try them on makes it way easier. Read more 130 more words
For being a VS bra, this sports bra actually fits really well. It gives me some uniboob and compresses more than encapsulates (35.25" measurement around the bust with bra on, compared to 36" for Freya and Panache bras); for me, it's not as bounce-resistant as my Freya and Panache sports bras. Fit-wise, it's not a big deal - my tissue is pretty squishy, so even though the cup depth is smaller than ideal for my breasts, the cup height covers them, and there's no discomfort at all. Like most VS bras, it's super, super comfortable. I also keep it around because the multicolored splatter print is really cute and goes with variety of solid color bottoms. And, though I have no need for this, I just learned the white part of the print *glows in the dark*!! Too cool. It stays.
I just received this in a bra swap - I already have one in grey so know it's a reasonably good fit for me. I wasn't that excited about the pinky blush colour but in person it's waaay prettier than I was expecting, it's got a slight sheen to it. It also works as a shockingly good English rose nude for my reasonably pale pinky complexion, score! The band stretches to over 35 inches so I am wearing it straight on the second to tightest (out of 4) sets of hooks, and this didn't ride up on my trip out and about today. These bras ...are very light, comfy and easy to wear yet provide a natural yet quite rounded shape under clothes - it's not that evident in these pics and my side profile in these looks pretty flat/not round but under clothes it seems far more satisfying https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />. I will wear this more than I originally thought I would, so that is a nice surprise. The straps are thin and made from a really soft material that I love. I think this one is a slightly older version than the one I already had (and bought recently in the last few months) as the charm in the middle of the gore is a little different. The cups on this one feel wider (will have to check measurements to see if they actually are) but I'm not sure if wearing this one on a tighter hook would pull the wires out at all and that's why? Although I'm fairly shallow with little upper fullness the cup fits really well with no wrinkling at all, but I think due to the stretch lace cup is could accommodate a fuller/more projected boob. A nice light basic, very pleased. Read more 202 more words
I've been dying to get myself a front-closure, racerback push-up bra for summer. And what better time than during Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I wasn't sure how I would do with a 32DD since I normally wear a DDD in VS. But the last 2 Very Sexy bras I bought (one of them being a front-closure) seemed too wide in the cup for my girls and I wasn't getting that extreme cleavage I was after.
So I really wanted to try the DD. And....It fits like a glove!!! I was very surprised! It may be just a teensy tiny bit too ...shallow, by like a hair! But it's barely noticeable. I thought for sure I would be quadboobing or falling out. But it lays just right, no cutting in (unless I really scoop n swoop). What I really like, the most, is the tightness of the band. It's perfect for my 27" ribcage. The wire width is perfect and the cups don't feel gigantic like they do in the DDD.
I love this bra! Perfect summer!! I love the strappy back and the pretty butterfly colorway!! I even got the matching thongs (so adorable)!! I def recommend this bra! It's so comfy, supportive and super sexy! A combination I can only seem to get with VS! Read more 115 more words
This bra looks perfect on you! I have one in the same size and it fits a little funny, but I wasn't aware how wide they ran. It's such a gorgeous bra though!! Love the back :)
Thank you :) I am in love with this bra!! The back is so cute!! It's super soft n comfy! And it could just be me (lol) but I feel like the cups/wires are super wide on the front-closure bra in a DDD. I get much better cleavage in the DD :)
SmallBandBella you're welcome ^_^ the back is my favorite part! It goes great with the right top :) I'm hoping they come out with more like this :)
I want another "Strappy!!" It's the one with the crazy strap pattern in the back and has like a metal horseshoe looking hoop connecting the top straps and it's just so intricate and different. I LOVE them! Perfect for summer! It's the kind of bra you WANT to show wearing a backless shirt. I can't get enough of VS's unique styles and sexy trends. Lol!! I haven't even looked at Polish bras anymore cuz VS has thee absolute cutest and sexiest bras!!!
Well, I've been on this whole Victoria's Secret kick lately. I normally wear a 32DDD in VS, but always feel like the cups are just ginormous! And the wires are def too wide, but it's the only way I can get the depth and "close enough" projection that I need. But I've been trying some styles out in the DD for comparison.
I have a Dream Angels push up in a 32DDD, and I love it! But again, the cup Width is always too wide and the wires wrap almost around to my back! But not on this one, the DD! The cup/wire width is PERFECT for me!! 5.5"! ...However, I am def getting some quad boob and my nipples are just about popping out! But I love everything else about the fit with this one. The straps are placed just right for me, they're usually too far apart. And the band on this is pretty darn tight for a 32! Granted, I have to hook it on the tightest setting, but for my 26/27" underbust, it's very snug https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> And the cleavage?!?! Wowzers!! Just about as good as my Incredible (but that's still my fav...lol).
Even tho the DD is too small for me in the cup (depth), I think I'm starting to prefer it to the DDD, which just seems too bulky and excessive. I like the looks of the DD much better. And I don't need to keep scooping n swooping to make up for the extra wire/cup width, if that makes sense. Lol. But this is a beautiful bra. And surprisingly VERY comfy! It def provides an extreme lift and cleavage!! And I also got the matching red briefs....so darn cute! This is one sexy set! Read more 187 more words
I bought this bra brand new off of eBay for less than HALF of the retail price! Worth ever penny!! This is my second Incredible Push-up but my first one I spent twice as much on in the actual store.
I normally wear a VS 32DDD, but this style (the Incredible Push-up) only goes up to a 32DD, at least as far as I know. The saleswoman in the store told me they didn't have it available in a 32DDD, but that was last summer so who knows? Maybe they finally expanded a bit. Tho the DD is def too small, it's still wearable. This is my ULTIMATE ...cleavage bra! Nothing else in the world, no other bra on this planet will get my boobs touching like this other than this bra! Lol! And it just gives my girls such an amazing, KaBOW kinda shape! Haha! They're lifted, they're nice and round and the cleavage is remarkable. I use the one I already have for work everyday (where cleavage is a must, as a cocktail server) to the point of stretching it out and the dye from my uniform has stained the cups. So I desperately needed another one to wear OUTSIDE of work (special occasions!).
One thing I noticed about this bra that i didn't get with the first one I bought almost a year ago - the BAND! The band on this is like a true 30, maybe even a 28!! I was actually able to hook this on the first set of hooks, tho I hooked it on the second just to be safe. This is UNHEARD of for me! I have never been able to hook ANY VS bra on anything looser than the tightest setting. Hell, I can barely do it with UK brands! Lol! I LOVE the tightness of this band, and it measured to about 29/29.5" stretched! So perfect for us petite ladies! But I don't remember being able to do that with my first Incredible. This one I just bought has the lace on the bottom and sides of the cup, not sure if that has anything to do with it. But I have read other reviews of a similar situation with VS Very Sexy models - the styles with lace on the cups seem to run a bit smaller for some reason. But with this bra, I feel the cup is they same, just the band is tighter.
All in all, tho this bra isn't a "technical" proper fit, I'll be sporting this baby as much as possible, and will prob wear it out to its death like I have my other Incredible! If you're looking for that extreme cleavage and extra Va Va Voom OOMPH, haha, then this is absolutely your bra!! And I forgot to rave on about how insanely comfortable it is!!! So soft, and plush, the wires are "hidden" and covered in gel padding for extra comfort and extra lift! I couldn't live without this bra!!! Read more 392 more words
I love this bra. I love the Body line. I know it's not highest quality, but it's so comfortable! I've been pining over and searching for the Blush lace in the padded version for months, and finally decided to order this when I fell in love with everything unlined.
I have to hook it at the very last row of hooks, which I dislike, but what can I say? It's VS, 32 is the smallest band they carry, AND above a D, they add a row of hooks horizontally instead of vertically. The lace cuts into my left boob a bit, but that's ...always how it goes. My right boob always fits, my left boob almost fits. It doesnt cut in so much that it's an issue. I like the shape this bra gives as well. If it weren't for this bra I wouldn't have accepted that I'm a 30E/32DD; I tried on the 32D and it pushed the middle of my boobs down and made them slope out more, like every unlined bra did to me. I tried the DD and I immediately ordered this in Blush lace. It's gorgeous and gives a nice, round shape.
My only mild complaint (bands aside) is that my boobs bounce around like jelly when I walk. Again, not a huge issue, but I can imagine people with bigger boobs or soft boobs like me will have this issue. It's hard to embarrass me about anything "woman related" just because, if society is going to tease me for having breasts and my breasts doing what they do, then *expletive* them. I just wanted to include that for anyone who may be a bit more self conscious(which is totally fine btw!)
There is a chef in my town that advertises on the radio. She is talking about SOMETHING she has prepared (I can never pay close enough attention to that part), and she says "A little bounce never hurt anybody". I always get a big kick out of her. I would have to say I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY!! :)
Soft an comfortable, it's probably comfortable because of how loose the band is. The fabric isn't itchy, and the lace is so small that it isn't noticeable. The bands don't dig in but they do fall off (it's too big). I was not able to find this in a 30 band size.
I finally understand what it means to have ABTF thanks to this bra! (After coming from a 36B to a 32DD, I was very hesitant making the size switch.) With the VS Semi-Annual Sale, I decided to try out a bunch of 32DD's. (They didn't carry 30DDD's otherwise, I would've loved to try those as well.
This bra LIFTS and supports without pinching or suffocating me. The size and shape is absolute perfection.
For reference, I'm FOB, short wide roots, post-nursing and pendulous.
Good basic bra for under tight fitting shirts. I like how soft the material is, and the band works for me even though I usually wear 30. cups are just slightly too tall and I get gaps near the straps when I'm not standing up. May look into altering the band to be shorter as the bra gets older, started it off on the second to last hooks.
Edit: after about a year of regular wear, the gore doesn't completely tack on the tightest hooks. I've also realized the bra is slightly too wide for me, but it doesn't bother me much.
This is one of the bras I bought before I was aware of my measured size of 28F/30E. The fitter at the store suggested 32C/D or 34B/C which I knew was wrong and I went home with this. The fabric of the cup is soft and comfortable. It's not a bad fit, although the band is stretchy and at some point I'm really going to need to look into altering the band length. For now though I don't have an issue with the cup width or anything. That being said, I don't reach for this bra that often for reasons I'll list below. The problems: Half of the strap ...is not adjustable and I found I need the straps as short as possible. If the straps stretch out at all, I will be out of room for adjustments. The other thing about this bra is it is VERY thickly padded. I think they market it as "add a cup size" or push up something. I find it pretty uncomfortable, as the cup digs into my ribs while I'm sitting. I don't think it's a fit issue; it's just the design of this bra, it's like armor. The bra feels bulky due to all the padding and isn't well suited for hot weather. I'll always choose a thin foam or unlined bra on a hot summer day over something like this. It doesn't create much of cleavage, its really just bulk.
That all being said this bra is really handy to have when I'm traveling. the cups are so thick and structured that I can usually pack my other molded bras on top of it and they won't get deformed. Read more 169 more words
Well I guess you’ll maybe be glad to know that VS is about to close a large number of stores due to financial difficulty.
