The Wacoal Women's Plus-Size Basic Beauty Full Figure Underwire (855192) was one of my fav bras, but I had it in a 32D and when I lost weight it stopped fitting. Sadly they didn't make smaller band sizes for this model. Which sucked because it had the perfect back ("leotard"?) for someone with narrow shoulders like mine. BUT I just realized they make this bra, which has the same back and comes in 30DD! Bonus it is also has some light padding, so unlike the Full Figure Underwire, I can wear it under some tees. So yeah, great bra for small band size/larger cup size and also for narrow/sloped shoulders.

Things I'm looking for in a spacer bra: true-to-size band and a lower coverage style, or at a least a style that isn't too minimizing.

While this bra is obviously full coverage, I am impressed with the band. It is true to size, maybe even a bit tight. It has 3 hooks, something I don't see often in 30DDD bras - I'm not opposed to it.

Unfortunately this size seems a bit big in the cup on me, so I can't comment on the shape yet. I do expect the shape to be slightly minimized based on other reviews, but maybe not so much as the Fantasie Rebecca was on me.

There is extra room in the top of the cup that gets worse as I move about and relax. The bra was also not super comfortable due to tall cups and wires in combination with the tigher band, so I may size up in the band and try a smaller cup.

This is a a very basic but plainly pretty t-shirt bra. It's really well made, the band is a true 32, nice and snug and doesn't stretch much. The cups run a little deep for my shallow shape, and they are tall. The thin spacer fabric is a nice departure from the normal foam. Being a small 34B/32C I never really thought/cared much about support...until wearing this bra. I have to say it's a game changer for me. This bra provides a ton of support the likes I have never experienced, I think partly because of the high quality band, tall wings and 3 row 3 column hooks (most bras in my size are padded with very narrow bands and thin straps). My only complaint is the stitching on the shoulder straps is a little irritating, hoping it will soften up after a few washes.

    • This bra is amazing to me, too. In fact, I'm selling nearly all my undewires, but I'm reluctant to sell this one. So glad you found a supportive bra, too.

I am very shallow on top so this bra gapes on top. Despite that, it is my go to bra for everyday wear. It keeps everything tucked in. Very comfy, no rubbing or pinching, super secure.

In my opinion, this is Wacoal’s best bra. If they’d make it in a few different fits, it would be perfect.

The good: The straps are set at a good distance (not too wide), and the wires are narrow (love it!). Has good immediate projection and solid depth for a t-shirt bra - it’s not shallow. And it has 3 rows of hooks!!! That’s so hard to find in the size, but I find it so much more comfortable.

The less good (for me): The gore is a bit too wide and the cups are really tall. I think if the gore were narrower, the cup height would actually be fine for me. As it is, it cuts in a bit along the top of my larger side and there’s a bit of empty space at the top of my smaller side. I really believe that brining the gore width down to .5 inches would solve both of those problems. It’s not noticeable under clothing, though.

This now fits me better than the 30DD. A little too wide, but good depth on my larger side. A little bit of empty space on the top of my smaller side, but there’s no way you could tell under a shirt. Love the 3 hooks - so much more comfortable than 2. Band is quite small for a 30. Cups are pretty tall.

Edit: Ended up returning it, because the band was just tooooooo tight. Much more so than the 30DD (which is strange).

I originally reviewed this bra in size 32DDD, review here: http://bra.pe/XYuC/

I purchased this bra as a comfort at home bra when I need something more than a bralette. This bra is very comfortable and gives a very smooth silhouette. After owning several of these bras, in various sizes and colors, I can say the band does stretch out with regular wear and will look well loved with regular washing. It’s still great to me and I do reach for it over a bralette.

This is a decent fit for a molded bra but I just don't like it. The cups are too tall so they cut into my armpits and there is empty space in the area near where the straps connect. It feels too full coverage for me. I don't like the feeling of the gore because it's tall and too wide. The cups have side support slings made of stretchy, thin mesh. They don't do anything for me because I don't have much outer fullness. The band fits like a loose 28. The wires themselves feel flatter than what I've felt in other bras, which I thought was interesting and could be more comfortable. It might fit me better in a 30D. The fabric is soft and I think it could be a nice t-shirt bra for someone with a different shape.

  9. I was surprised that I like this bra. Seeing it on the hanger, I thought, “No way,” because it looked kind of granny-ish. It’s pretty cute on, though. Gives a really nice, round shape.

The band is quite firm. My snug UB is 29, and the 30 still feels very snug (I just bought it, so no break in, yet). The cups run large, IMO. My bust is 36-ish inches standing and 38 leaning, and my horizontal perimeter is 9 inches, but the DD fits very well. The material is stretchy, so I think it’s forgiving. It’s got good immediate projection, which is something that I need. Normally 30DDD ... cups are too small for me in Wacoal (and 30G becomes surprisingly wide and tall), but I’ve always tried their molded styles. This was a very different shape than what I’ve previously experienced in this brand. I have the ever-so-tiniest bit of spillage on my larger breast, but nothing that’s noticeable unless I’m really looking for it. I have even-leaning-toward FOB fullness, and I fill it out in all parts of the cup, even though the cups are somewhat tall.

The wires are surprisingly (and wonderfully) narrow at 5 inches. This is so hard to find and is one of my biggest requirements. Large wires swoop back into my armpit, pulling my breasts with them. That flattens me out, and it causes the cups to cut into my armpits where the cup meets the strap (that hurts!). That doesn’t happen with this bra, especially because (god bless Wacoal), it has center-pull straps. Those are so hard to find in a small band!

I’m close set and was worried about the 1-inch gore, but it seems to be fine. In most bras, the wires sit on my inner tissue, but with this bra, the gore lies super flat against my chest.

The cups are “lined” with spacer foam, but it’s the tiniest amount. I worried about this, too, because I’m used to unlined bras making me look pointy. This does not. It’s rounded and mostly hides my nipples. You can see them through the bra, but not through my shirt. It gives a nice, rounded appearance that doesn’t add or subtract from my natural shape. Just brings everything to the front and smooths it out.

My most comfortable bra when I go one size up to 36DD (36D used to be perfect, but I've gained weight). The spacer foam accommodates my immediate projection and I love the smooth, natural, rounded profile it gives. Not a particularly attractive bra. The band is stretchy and forgiving and I'm able to wear it comfortably in a 36 even though I have to go up to 38 in some other bras.
