A long overdue update to the blog and review of the Comexim classic Ingrid that I can't believe I went so long without trying. Beautiful autumn-friendly floral pattern, typical narrow wires, more apex than immediate projection. A size smaller than I originally wore in Comexim is making me feel the extent of the shrinkage I've had. I'm wearing mostly 28Fs and tight-banded 30Es these days. Fits well and makes me feel classy!

Yay. A new review! Welcome back. Also perfect timing. I really want to order this same bra, but am not sure if I also need a 60H now... I have been obsessing over Ingrid for a few days, but my existing 60HHs have me stumped. When you measured at the apex, which part of the cup was it?

    • I found the deepest part to be where the two seams meet.

    • Thanks for the review. From what I've read in a couple of your reviews, I think I fit bras pretty similarly to you (broad shoulders, short roots, narrow, soft), so I find your reviews particularly helpful. It looks great on you, btw.

    • Thanks, that's how I measure mine. I noticed that your depth measurement is deeper than the other 60H Ingrids on here, but troubling for me is that the measurements are really close to my 60HHs, so I'm totally stumped on sizing again :/ I might try writing to Anna with pics. I'm starting to wonder if I got one 60H mislabeled.

    • Beautiful! :)

I have been obsessing over the Comexim Ingrid forever, ever since I first came across this bra. Since it's no longer available through Breakout Bras, I thought that it would be out of my reach as I didn't feel comfortable blindly ordering from Poland until I knew what size to confidently order, as during my initial research, I had put together a wide list of potential sizes and had no idea where to start. Thanks to my experience ordering Comexim standard plunge cuts through Breakout Bras, I felt pretty sure that 60G was a little too small and I'd do better in 60H. So, after ... a long and arduous wait, I received my long-anticipated Ingrid 6 weeks after placing an order with Comexim.

Originally I had concerns that the cup height would be a little too tall in 60H, but I decided to skip alterations for this first order in order to correctly assess the standard size and fit. However, it turns out my instincts were correct. While the 60G in the standard plunge cut is too small for me in terms of wire size and projection, the height was better. The 60H cup width and depth are perfect for me, but as the fullest portion of the cup is a little higher than my natural shape, I have some emptiness at the top of the cup on my smaller side. When I move, I can also see some gapping at the top of both cups that doesn't occur in the 60G. The taller cups also mean that the side of the cup and strap cause a little chafing. My hunch is that the problem is driven by the cup height because the cup width, depth, and wire measurements are pretty much the same as all of my other best fitting padded cup bras so far, and I get a pretty good fit on my larger side when I don't move my arms in.

Thus, in terms of sizing, I will plan to ask for 1.5 cm reduction in cup height and straps moved in 1 cm, which should give me the right wires and cup volume without the cups coming up too high on my body. Other than this, the shape of the cups is awesome and fits my shape well. The taller cups even play well with my tall roots, so I am thrilled with the overall fit of the Comexim standard plunge!

The band of my bras in this order all measured 54 cm, with one bra coming in slightly shorter at 53 cm. This matches perfectly with the average band length for this size according to the data here, so I am happy that the bands came in TTS to my expectations, as I had heard that the bands have been running smaller as Joanna tries to standardize them to their size chart. Based on my experience, I would recommend ordering your UK band size and add 2 cups to your index cup size, then converting to the Comexim cup size chart. So, for me, my normal size 28E converts to 28:6, which becomes 28:8 in Comexim, or 60H. This is much more accurate than their size chart, which tells me I should be in 65G or 70E as my underbust measurement is kind of between 65 and 70. The bra came with 4 hooks, which I appreciate. On me, this band size feels perfect for my 26.5" underbust, and I love that the leotard back keeps the band nice and low.

The only thing other than the cup height that I don't love about this fit are the overlapping wires at the gore. I find overlapping wires to be a bit unstable on my body, because although my breasts are right next to each other with no gap, my splayed roots work better with standard gores of about 1"/2.5 cm. This gore is extremely narrow, about half of the width I am used to, so it takes some extra positioning on my body to sit properly.

As far as styling goes, the Ingrid has a very pretty vintage English rose aesthetic that I love. The fabric is actually printed mesh over the cotton cups, which I didn't expect, as all of my other Comexim bras have been the shiny poly/spandex disco pant fabric. It's hard to tell the real fiber content of these bras, as all of the bras I ordered had the exact same label, and they are all made of different fabrics. A little odd, but not something I would worry about. I was a little surprised about the mesh though, and I would have a slight preference for satin rather than this fabric as I felt it would suit the style better.

In terms of trims, I feel that Comexim is a bit more simplistic compared to other brands, which helps to keep the costs down. My Basic Plunge in Beige shares the same upper cup lace, picot edged band elastic, textured strap elastic, and dyed to match plastic hardware. Simple ribbon bows decorate the gore and strap attachment, with no blingy charms to speak of.

In general, I am very pleased with my first Comexim direct order and can't wait to order more bras with the lowered cup height and moved in straps. This is an awesome fit on me and I am so glad that I took the plunge to try these bras!

    Didn't fit

The band felt loose but as if it had been stretched out by another person previously. Quad boob on my right. Felt as if there was a lot of flesh beneath the arms. The cup is made of foam, though not quite molded. Unfortunately, the 3-part cup design like this one just isn't the best for me. Also, it may be best to go up a size in this bra if you're used to Comexim unlined bras.

I love this bra. It fits my breasts wonderfully, and I absolutely love the fit and how it looks. Unlike with my 28G - Parfait By Affinitas » Charlotte Padded Bra (6901) which I love (underwire broke the other day https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> ), the gore insn't too high. I have teardrop-shaped breasts which generally avoid each other, and this bra lifts them and gives me natural amounts of cleavage. Fits snug - but doesn't strangle, and at first I was worried it was too small because inhaling seemed to cause some tissue to rise over the line of the cup. But after a wear or two, I think I just hadn't swooped and was also used to ill-fitting bras. I am so excited to get another Comexim bra if they all follow a similar shape pattern.

For me, I could probably go up a cup size in this bra. It is comfortable but a little too small in the cups for me. I could also go for a Comexim with the gore lowered.
