Wow, this bra is neon. I decided to order the Freya Rapture padded half cup since it's supposed to be the same cut as 30G - Freya » Patsy Padded Half Cup Bra (1223). Thinking this would be an effortless fit, I was more worried about the color than any fit issues arising when I ordered it, knowing I wouldn't be able to return it. As it turns out, the color is pretty nice albeit bright. I like the pop of color. What I was not expecting were all the fit problems. I tried it a bunch of times over the first week that I had ... it and it fit differently every time. So much so that it has made me question the fit on my Patsys. Here are the main issues:
The material: The cup material is thinner than Patsy's padding and sheerer. The bra as a whole seems less well-made and the stitches less clean. I poke through it, though for some reason only on my larger side. My nipples fall in a weird spot between the two front seams, but unlike Patsy, the material is not substantial enough to hide this. The straps are thick and rough with lace sticking out on the sides so they are difficult to adjust.
There is also a stitching defect where there is less outer material than the inner padded material so there's a pinch on one cup. I have read that others had the same issue, so I put this down to shoddy manufacturing.
Once adjusted (straps and swoop & scoop) so it fits in my IMF, the right cup is a smidge too small. I think it's quite a lot shallower than Patsy, because instead of quadding, it sort of pushes the edge of the cup outwards. One week out of the month it hardly fits at all.
After wearing it for one full day, I experienced something I have never had, even when I used to wear a 38D which was only rectified last year: the straps left painful, red indentations on my shoulders and the underwire tip poked so hard into my undearm area on my smaller side that it left a painful mark that took 2 days to fade. The marks from the underwires all over were generally deeper than I've had before even though the band is comfortably snug.
After I took it off, I examined it and and the underwires on Patsy are much more padded on the ends (they go full up to the edge of the underwire channel, so they get the cup hem as padding, too). The Rapture underwires poke through the channel and this is particularly bothersome on the left side only. I've never had this or shoulder marks with any other bra. The skin was super sensitive the whole night and next morning.
With over 3 months of wear, the bra has only become marginally more comfortable. I still don't like wearing it for long. I get a lot of spill over the cup edge on my larger side and have to keep adjusting. Because my tissue is so soft, it's not cutting/quadding as much as muffin-topping over the edge.
The best thing about this bra in comparison to Patsy is the shape: it is much more rounded and uplifted. I wish the cups just had a bit more padding and depth and the wires were narrower.
