Adding old bras?
I'm cleaning up my hard disk and found old bra pictures. I made pictures of almost all bras I tried. Is it helpful if I add those pictures even If I don't own these bras anymore (sent back, sold etc.) and they don't fit me anymore?

Happy Festivus month
I want to go to London during my winter hollidays, maybe 2 or 3 days. So I want to try to have a fitting in bravissimo, because I have read good things on them. But I am very shy ! And I speak english with a terrible french accent that make me even more shy ! I really WANT good ... bras, so I hope I will dare to enter in the shop...
If I go there in the end of December/beginning of January, it is the sales period isn't it ? I am afraid a lots of sizes will be out of stock, and too much costumers in the shop.
Did you have a brafitting here ? How was it ? Did the fitter learning you some brafitting things for your next online shopping ? Do you know over good bra stores in London ?

Yes, the sales start straight after boxing day, on the 27th of December! I'm French too but used to live in London and to shop there. Don't be shy, the staff is really sweet! For a bargain, you can check Debenhams'own line, Gorgeous.
Head to Bravissimo, they're the number 1 for best fitting and great bras. :-)

Had a frustrating day bra shopping at Lane Bryant and Torrid. Associates at both stores were rude when asking my bra size, and stared at my breasts as though I was crazy for wearing ~such a big cup size.~
I've done most of my bra shopping at Nordstrom. The girls there are always polite and most helpful. My only complaint is they don't carry every model of the brands they carry. For example, I really like, from what I can tell, the "Amazone" by Chantelle. Nordstrom has bras by Chantelle but not the Amazone. I asked if they could have an Amazone in 40D sent to their store so I could try it out with out having to buy one. They said no but I could order one and have it sent to me and if it didn't fit I could bring it in and return it there. I don't find that very helpful.
Don't feel bad just bc of some stupid shopping attendants, it is not worth it.
I second the recommendations for Nordstrom. I haven't been there, but I read nothing but good things about the fittings there.
BTW, my US-cupsize is a K in Goddess, I bet those would have fainted hearing that. :D
Hi. Since a lot of bra problems has all kind of different explanations I thought let's all combine and tell *all* the reasons for why something might happen. Without judging and without further discussions about right or wrong.
Say for example:
"Cups wrinkling in the bottom". And then follows all possible explanations we know of that can cause this. You ... can write down as much or as little as you want to.
This way it will be easier to collect all the bra fitting wisdom out there and allow the person needing fitting help to choose from a lot of options to see what best relates to her. Let's all be humble about the fact that we don't know everything and can learn from each other.
No one owns an etherpad, everyone can write and edit whatever someone else writes, but it will always be possible to come see with the time slider how the first text was written.
I would suggest not to edit any other persons texts, but just allow the pad to fill with very different colors and very different explanations for a fit issue. Just make a new number for a new problem and let's fill the pad out with information! Editing it and filling in the spaces can be done later on.
No logging in is needed, no accounts needed, no advertisers will bother you since etherpad is just free software made by enthusiasts. Everyone can also copy the information and take it wherever they want. And Bratabase can use it to help people finding a better fit
I will copy the information to other etherpads as well for backup.
If you have any question about how the pad works, feel free to ask.

Going to ask for fitting help once pictures go through, but I wanted to say that I got a package of bras delivered a few days ago, then went to Nordstrom for a fitting today. I was fitted into the same size I've been wearing in the Wacoal Awareness, and the same size of the ones I bought too; 36H ... US/36FF UK. But I'm not sold. I still think I could do with going down to a 34 band, but I'm not sure about the cups. Is it normal to have quadboob when leaning forward, sitting down, or pushing your chest out? They all (all but the plunges; I think my boobs are just too soft for plunges to work) seem to rest okay on the breast tissue, maybe a little dip where the edge of the cup lies especially on ones with elastic cup edges, but as soon as I sit down, lean forward, or pull my arms back, they cut in a little for some quadboob. Is this the way fitting cups just work, or do I need to try bigger cups? Specifically I have the Goddess Rose Bandless 36H (definitely too big band) Elomi Abi 36FF (too wide wires) Panache Tango II plunge 36FF (cups way too small) Wacoal All Dressed up 36H, and Chantelle C-Chic plunge 36H (too plungy).
I did get to try a 36GG and 34GG in the Cleo Natasha, but those cups were definitely too big. But the fitter said she was surprised at how big the cups were running, so I don't know if it's good to go off of. (also, just want to say that in the fitting 36FF it gave me the strangest shape; like this if you were looking down http://i.imgur.com/zbjoZ.png This picture's exaggerated, but that sort of shape.)
Also expecting a 34GG Freya Faye in the mail that should be a bigger cup than the 36FFs I tried, so I guess I can see then, but... I just don't know, does a cup fit even if it digs in when you lean forward?

Personally I always fit a bra for a good posture (standing up perfectly straight), as I don't want the bras to be an excuse for slouching, especially as many of us already is doing it. It is a matter for taste though, but I would say size up. When leaning forward, it could be a question of softness, but just straightening properly should not be giving you quadraboob...
Natasha does run really big, but also quite deep and narrow, so it might both be the wrong size and the wrong shape for you hard to say.
Do you scoop everything into the cups? And, in that picture, where would the wires have ended on you?
It's true I probably need better posture, but the way my computer is set up I have to slouch over quite a bit so I spend a lot of time slouched. When standing straight it doesn't seem like enough quadboob to go up a cup no matter how I scoop, but then, maybe I'd be surprised, since there's obviously enough when I lean.
I'd definitely call it the wrong shape, yes. I liked how it gave me a very forward projection, kind of where I feel my breasts should be as I'm very close-set, but at the same time it just did not smooth the sides out straight to get there. The wires ended behind that shape, so it really was the cup doing it, not the wires, which is why it was so weird. And yes the fitter jiggled me into it and I scooped. It lifted me up from the bottom quite a bit more than any of the others, too. It might have been the fault of the straps pulling in where that dip is. Either way I don't think the Natasha is for me- are the "same cut" Cleos very similar?

A smaller busted friend mentioned the brand Melissa in passing, so I investigated, but I have a couple of questions, since the brand doesn't appear well reviewed here and it's a whole lot cheaper than a lot of Polish companies. How does the sizing work? Should I trust the size given by their sizing charts (30E sounds way way too small)? Do their cups run large enough that 30E would fit someone who vacillates between 30GG and 28H in UK sizing? How's the quality? Is it even worth it for me? Thank you to anyone who can answer.

I don't know anything but I've been just as curious as you about them. They have a lot of good looking bras ^^
I tried looking in Lobby Biusciastych, hoping that google translate would be enough for me to understand, but I can't even access the site. What's up with that?
EDIT: I meant Balkonetka.

I am looking for a new sport bra. I do zumba, and I need very good support.
I already have a panache sport in 32D. The cups don't fits perfectly (I show you the issues in the link), and the band is too loose.
My question is : should I go for the same model in a 30E ? I am ... afraid the cups will be too deep, and my breast bounce into the cups. Or should I try the freya active ? Does this bra have wider underwires ? Or maybe an other brand ? What bra is the best for what shape ?

One of the best sportsbras for shallow breasts is the ShockAbsorber Pump (B4246), sadly this is only Level2, so maybe not the best for Zumba. Another really good sports bra for shallow breast is the ShockAbsorber Run (S5044), this one is Level4.
I would not recommend the Freya Active for shallow breasts at all.
Haven't read through this yet, but I remembered this article from @beckym82

This puzzles me so much. When I put on a bra it will seem to fit, but an hour or two later or sometimes just half an hour my boobs have swelled.
They swell when cold outside, they swell on PMS. They swell when in a bra, they swell whenever they feel like it and they are certainly way firmer ... when when it happens.
How on earth will I take this into account in bra fitting?! When my perimeter changes from 38/39 to 42 (today even close to 43) Also bust standing up, laying down and leaning over changes in the same way.
The bigger cup will be too big when not swollen, the smaller cup will be too small when swollen. It's really not about being in between sizes but having boobs acting totally crazy. I think it has to do with migration but I am not sure. I also know my ankles swell from socks.
It's not like rashes or anything, it's just swelling. So much swelling. All this summer I was afraid I was pregnant because of all this swelling. I'm not, but my boobs seems to act like I am. So what on earth do I do?

Get yourself checked for hormone levels and lymph problems. Should you have problems with your lymph system, you might want to consider bras with a wider band. Sometimes swelling such as you describe is a result of obstructed lymph flow. A very tight band hinders lymph flow.
This is offtopic because I dont know anything about swelling except on pms - but I am egarly awaiting your george adventure!

How do you tell someone nicely that they're wearing the wrong bra?
A friend of mine has been losing a lot of weight, and she JUST bought new bras (at Victoria's Secret, of course.)
And I can tell before she even takes off her jacket that she isn't wearing a bra that fits. Knowing how life-changing a well fitted bra can be, ... this is a huge pet peeve for me. I want to hug her and tell her breasts that it's going to be okay. But people don't like it when I tell them I want to take them bra shopping.
Any thoughts?

What I've found is that you don't tell them they are wrong, that makes people react defensively, you let them discover themselves then they embrace it as their own achievement.
It is not "bra size denial" but plan old "being wrong denial"
My mom lost weight too and I got her with the line that unless she bought a new bra her slimmer waist would be invisible. And indeed, once she had a fitting bra she finally fit into her old clothes again.

Yes it is! I've been thinking of doing this as well.
But I won't be able to add measurements of some because I don't own them anymore.
I just added a CK Emily in 32H I tried like 8 months ago. Now I'm thinking the Emily was actually the best fit in a CK Balconnette I ever had.
