A couple of weeks ago I ordered a whole bunch of Curvy Kate bras via brastop.com - they were on 50% sale, I couldn't resist.
All of my bras are pretty old and worn out, so it was time for new bras anyway. I was wearing 75L EU sized Ulla bras, but I kept adjusting the band throughout the ... day, pulling it down. It was clearly too big for me, and I vaguely remember not even getting to use the looser hooks and wondering why they were there in the first place - I never used them!
So, off to the online calculators I was. Via blogs I found the 'most accurate' calculator at butterflycollection I think, and my measurements put me into the 34JJ there. OK, sounds reasonable, that's the 75 band I've been wearing all my life. But, I felt it as too tight so I looked at the sister size 32K instead.
I ordered 7 bras that day on brastop, all but one CurvyKate (the last one being Fantasie): 2 Lotties (1 in 34JJ, I need to check if it is really too big or if I imagined it and a 32K), 2 Angels both 32K and different colors, a Princess 32K, a Romance 32K and the Fantasie was the Kara FullCup in 32K.
I awaited my package eagerly... and was so exited when it arrived. First I tried on the 34JJ Lottie bra, which I immediately fastened on the tightest hook (so in my mind it was already on the 'return' pile) but fitted me quite well overall. Cup was good, but alas the band was bad. So, out came the Lottie in 32K! Wow, what a difference in band. I had to struggle quite a bit to get it fastened, and it felt really really tight. But I assumed that was due to my being used to the 34 bands, and after wearing the 32bands for about 2 weeks the band feels perfect.
On to the 32K cups though... the Lottie, Angels and Romance bras all fit the same, so I'll bunch them together. My smaller boob seems to fit near perfectly, though there is just a hint of cutting into the tissue at the top. My bigger boob has cutting for certain, and this quad-boobing is very visible for me. However it does disappear under clothing for the most part, especially if you don't know what to look for. So, I kept these bras because they are not available in KK cup and they're worth the money for the better support. I'll adjust the cups until I have money to try out KK or maybe even L cups.
The Princess was another story, that was more quad boobing even for the smaller boob, just too much and it's returned now. Sad, because it was pretty.
Last but not least, the Fantasie Kara Fullcup bra in 32K. When I tried it on, it was heavenly. The cups seemed to be the perfect fit, and also the band was tight as the CK's but I accepted that as not-used-to-proper-band-snugness. However, with wear I've developed some issues with it. Yes, the cup is still good, but the wires and additional boning seem to poke me all the time... painfully.
I've now discovered the possibility of adjusting the central gore, pulling it together - and when I tried it just pinching it in front of a mirror the quad-boob on the Angel seemed to melt away! Of course this discovery was just before I planned to handwash them... so I am eagerly waiting until they dry and then I'll grab needle&thread and am going to try this out on one of them. If it doesn't help I can always pick out the thread again. Will try to remember to post a new bra adventure about this alteration when it's done!

oh, I love when people can "fit" by eye. The last person that claimed this (not surprisingly a VS associate) said that I didn't look bigger than a DD when I told her that I was a G cup. Yeah, they don't appear bigger than they are because I am wearing a bra that fits.
Fitting by eye is better than a flawed measuring system. Because numbers are just that. A measuring tape doesn't look at your frame size, tissue density, shape, or what you want out of a bra. Granted, some do not know how to measure by eye because they're still used to "old" sizes.
