Well, I have come to the conclusion that neither the 30H, 30G, or 30E Cleo Lucy fit me properly or comfortably. However, I have yet to try it in a 30F or a 30FF. And the adventure goes forth!

I just got the three cleo lucy bras I've been waiting for in the mail today...so far the fitting has been interesting. The 30E was much, much to small for me both in the band and in the center gore, the 30H fit comfortably in the band, but not so much in the cup, and the 30G fit well in the band, but had some issues with the cup.
Ok, so I have a messed up breast root since years in too small cups. I have old creases from my old wires in every direction in my bras. The problem with this is that the boob wants to fold/bend in the old creases. In bottom it falls down on top of the new crease, on top it wrinkles, on ... the sides it folds as well.
When I tried to give room for the creases not to fold/bend in the bottom I ended up with the wires so low I couldn't breath so I gave that up and now I'm in a bra which basically make the boobs fold/bend themselves in the bottom.
What I like to know is whether that might ruin the migration process. Because if not I'll stick to this bra.

Yesterday, I received the Ewa Michalak CHP Ametyst I ordered on a whim just before the weekend. I was already a bit sceptical but still felt mightily disappointed when I found my suspicions confirmed: this beautiful style just really doesn't work for me. Like, AT ALL. CHP is supposed to be a blend of CH (which I love) and HP ... (which I haven't tried), both half-cups though with slightly different properties. Why, then, does it fit on me almost like PL, a plunge?! With all the fitting issues attached to that style and then some: seriously gapping cup edges, my soft breasts spilling towards the centre due to a (too) low centre gore, and cups that simply come up too high for my ridiculously short upper body and high set breasts. It seems to have a bit less projection than PL -- which, I think, actually makes it fit decidedly worse on me than PL as the shallower, higher cups tend to slip down at the bottom and gap more at the top -- but apart from that, on me, CHP is just an ill-fitting PL in disguise and nowhere near a worthwhile alternative for CH. Bummer.

Oh so sorry to her it didn't work :( I know the feeling, and it's even worse when you get super excited about something. From what Ive heard, it isn't entirely impossible that tgey have sent you a plunge. take some poctures and send them, ask them if they are sure that that's a chp. Will you be giving hp a shot?
What Vlatka said. EM seems to be having problems when it comes to label their products. HP Koktaijl on their site is a CHP for example. Had it not been for Curvy Wordy I wouldn't have known.
Put up pictures and we'll judge if they did something wrong?
I didn't have a printer when I sent my returns to EM and I also didn't have proof of postage so I guess I will never have my money back from them.

Even though I seem to know more about bras and proper fitting than most of my friends, there's a lot that I'm confused about. Like sister sizes for example. A 40D's cups are about the same size as a 38DD? Or should I say 38E's cups? Never the less, there are lots of blogs and things to read and advice from you girls here at Bratabase. For this I'm grateful .
After D is pretty much where it gets wonky depending on size charts :)
For UK (and Poland) after D comes DD, for EU there comes E, and for US it's DD/E.
Thanks XLhourglass,I think I'm starting to understand a little more.I now see that it's good to know what country a certain bra is from.
Soooo, someone was wrong on the internet and I wanted to correct them.
Context: CurvyKitten/Kel Kitty (whose Bratabase name I can guess but don't know) posted her photo and measurements to a body positive Tumblr.
The wrong on the internet:
Someone doesn’t know how to measure their bust.
How does 36 = that insane bra sizeand 33 = 34B (my measurements are 33-23-34)
My ... response. Note that no URL tags came through on this post, so if you want to see where I linked in each sentence, go to my Tumblr.
Boy are you in for a treat!
Start here [Bra Matrix]. Perhaps you'd prefer an academic study on the efficacy of the sizing method you reference. Or maybe a rundown in non-academic English?
Then, read a little bit on the relativism of cup size.
Actually, how about a little more? To hammer it home: D cups aren't that big.
Troubleshoot your fit. You might still feel like your bra passes this test, and that's ok. I'm out to educate, not to have a pissing contest.
Read some more about fit. Still think your bra fits as perfectly as it could? Be honest.
This is an accurate calculator, though of course fit is most important.
It's so important, you should just read this whole blog (starting with the bra fit tags), because the host does a great job explaining.
With a 23" waist, you might be more at a 24 band, and so you should totally meet Brittany from Thin And Curvy. You might also be interested in this fascinating multi-part survey looking at the average ribcage measurements across a decently wide population, both athletic and lingerie enthusiasts and an overlap.
And then check out some super cheap gorgeous bras or somewhat less cheap gorgeous bras...and clothing.
Welcome to the world of bras that are beautiful and change the way your body looks and feels.
PS: Don't call other people's bodies wrong or insane. That's not okay.

Hey, I already follow you! :D I couldn't find many bra-related tumblr's, though :o
When I try to introduce people to bra sizes, I have to start by explaining: "No, a 75band is not actually made for someone who measures 75cm" That's a really steep one to get past.
Then I explain about fit (flat center gore, band riding up, too narrow wires. The basics.) and then hope that they realize that it is not how their bra is fitting, and then go on to how to get a better fit. But I do find it difficult, wihtout saying "You are doing everything wrong!" I was talking to a friend yesterday, who luckily wanted to hear about it, who told me she wore a 75A or AA, and found 70's to be too tight: she is the most petite person I know, and she is not very straight-figured. She Must be smaller than 28", and I would guess a decent bust-size. So I gave her lots and lots of instructions, and she said she would go home and measure. I hope she will take the results seriously :D
Lol, I would say you missed a link:

Many women with shallow breasts think of their breasts as small, so they cannot imagine wearing anything larger than a B-cup.

I am trying to understand this whole migration and remigration thing. But the more I see of bra fitting the more it seems there really are two standards; one bra fitting for the thin girl. On her everything around her cups is considered probable breast migration.
Then we have the fat girls. On her it seems people mostly just think ... it's fat. I don't really get this. To me it's obvious that someone that had big boobs before she got fatter had even fatter boobs when gaining weight. Sometimes it feels as if on the fat girl we fit the glandular tissue and push the rest away.
To me it seems so backward. I just don't get it.
Look at Georgina Horne. To me it looks as if half of her boobs is outside of those cups on the sides. To be fair she complains about the bra being to low on the sides. To my taste that would mean "too small".

I know it's about taste, I just wanted to see what you all thought. But I really do think there is a double standard.
When I sized up I started fitting myself according to this rule. I still like it. But I know it's about taste.

Different wire lengths mean different height under the arms, regardless of cupsize. That the wires are too short does not mean that the bra is too small in the cup.
How high the wires need to be under the arm is a question of torso length, positioning of boobs (high/low on chest) and the shape the tissue takes under the arms. (Some people are triangular, a halfcircle, a nike flare or almost square there.) Yes, when you go up in cupsize, the wires get longer, but this "solution" causes other problems.
Freya and Curvy Kate are known for having wires that are shorter under the arms than Panache. Also the newer Panache styles (Melody, Andorra, Jasmine) have shorter wires. Which is why the Melody pokes me and I am reluctant to get the Andorra in 40HH - I do better with higher wires.
Just go and use bratabase to compare the wing height of bras in the same size, if you don't believe me.
I've been wondering about this too, especially after seeing some red carpet pictures of Amber Riley. I mean, arms have fat too, and that might look like armpit fat/migrated breast tissue when it's really just...arm fat. (I don't know for sure because I don't go around poking my heavier friends in the armpit.) Where is the line drawn and how can you tell the difference?

Hey guys, I've had this running for a while, but never really made it public or pushed it.
The idea is to replace the current breast shapes diagrams with a gallery of actual pictures and then tie that to the bra recommendations (since they can be pretty bad sometimes)
This should address the issue about knowing which "term" your breasts are, "wide root?", "narrow?", etc.
Please let me know what do you think, and please please please spread the word!
If you want to contribute, please do here http://www.bratabase.com/pages/Shapes/submit/
Have you ever hated how a bra just won’t work for you? No matter the size?

Yes! :D I especially like the "You'll have it easier than anyone else to pick your breast shape" argument :D
Oh dear... I went through the galery, it really made me sad. There are a lot of women there hating their boobs and even more in sooo wrong bra sizes...
I must say I was suprised - if judging from this gallery, most women have far set boobs? Wow, this was educational.
Anyway, haven't found anyone who looks like me, so I better be puting mine up there :)

I hope someone can help!
I have a CK Thrill Me in 28H. it is too small in the cups (a little big in the back, but the cups are way too small) i *think* a 28HH would fit fine.
I also have a Tease Me in 28HH, the back is firmer, but the cups are MASSIVE for me.
I want ... to buy the CK Fleurty bra, but am very unsure of how it would fit/ which size to plump for? i have tried to read reviews, but there aren't too many. I can't tell if it is more like the Thrill or the Tease me??
I don' know if anyone can help, but if they can they will be on this database no anywhere else!!
Thank you!

i'm just worried because my Thrill me is too small in 28H, but the Tease Me 28HH was MASSIVE!! so, i think they have inconstantancies :(
I look forward to your report about the fit of the Fleurty :)

I´m a little puzzled now.
I got a Cleo Lucy bra in 30E recently. The band was too big and the cups were maybe the right size (and shape!!) or just a hint too small. If too small, definitely not much, very much wearable
I tried to look Bratabase´s measurements and suggestions and that´s where I got ... a little confused.
If we assume that 30E cups were okay and band too big, I would have to go for 28F, right? Sometimes it is even said that you should add 2 cup sizes, so is it 28FF that´s sister size to 30E? Or is it 28F here?
When checking out 28F Lucy in Bratabase´s listings it says that cups will be too big for me!!! Could this be because of some measuring errors in here? If 30E cups are good (or very slightly too small), then 28F cannot have cups too big for me, can it?? Bratabase says that 28E "might fit", but really, it must be too small in the cups...
What do you suggest would be the right sister size to 30E in this bra model, with tighter band?

i think that the measurement suggestions on here should be taken with a pinch of salt. It doesn't seem all that accurate to me so far.
I don't think that the 28F cups will be too big for you, i think that logically the 28F is the size for you! However, if the 30E is a touch small the FF might be better, although i suspect that the fit will feel different with the correct band.
My advice: Go for the 28F and don't listen too much to the bratabase suggested correct fit! :)
Thanks for the advice, cbear :)
Do you have specific knowledge / experience of Cleo Lucy, that 28F really is the sister size to 30E? If it doesn´t work like that in all bras...

hmm, what are your fit issues in each size? lucy can be funny that way, sometimes she wont fit at all without altering.
