Is There a way to compare measurements with other members? So if they have a bra that fits I ca compare my breast measurements to their and get an idea if we are close to the same size and then order the bra

I learned last night that I had been treating my breasts the wrong way for most of my entire pubescent and post-pubescent life. In hindsight, a part of this was understandable -- up until fairly recently I had still been living under my parents' roof, after all, and with that came the oft-repeated tales of a mother buying her ... daughter some ill-fitting bras that were probably meant to fit but mostly just didn't, leading to long, uncomfortable years of sternums and underwires and all kinds of creative side-boob.
But when I finally headed out into the big bad world on my own, one of the first things I did was remeasure myself for a bra. And I remember thinking at the time that, well, according to these calculators and the whole +4 method, I'm probably a ~34B or something, I mean I can't be a C cup because that just sounds huuuuuuge, and these bras fit so much better than the 36Bs I've been wearing since high school so clearly I must have found my size, and now I can buy several and go home and wear them all the time, and never have to worry about bra sizing again.
Clearly, I was wrong, because last night I finally came around to admitting that my cups were too small and the underwire was digging into my side. So this morning, after climbing out of bed, I remeasured myself according to the fitting guide on /r/ABraThatFits and put in my first order for a single bra in size 30E.
I'm not so optimistic as to believe that this first try will be perfect. But I think it's a step in the right direction, and am looking forward to the moment when I can finally put something on and say, "Wow. This really fits."

I have a question I'm hoping you ladies can help me with...I'm thinking about buying some wire-free bras but am unsure about sizing with wire-free since most do not come in my cup/band combination. Any suggestions? Right now I'm buying 32K's. I'm looking for wire-free mostly because I have Fibromyalgia and lately, my bra underwires are killing me, no matter ... what size bra (I wear my Panache Sport on days when I'm extra sensitive and it's a 34H but it's even giving me problems). Part of it, of course, is the fact that I'm still finding my perfect bra and a size that works best for my shape but I'd like to try a wire-free to see if it would at least help with the uncomfortable feeling for the days when I'm extra sensitive.

Hey, I have two bras to give away, they are both wire free, Polish brand and made of cotton, so that they won't cause any irritation, 80DD - Moda Polska » Miękki Codzienny (Give away) and 95D - Moda Polska » Miękki Codzienny (Give away) . Maybe you want one of those for alteration purposes?
You could look at Decent Exposures . Their sizing is different, and you might not want to wear them out of the house (very little projection or lift), but they are wireless and come in band/cup sizes and are comfy - they are all I wore for about 2 decades. But being a 32J in Panache bras - I cant imagine trying to wear a non-cup-sized bra. There's nothing S/M/L about this shape

I've heard many different things about their sizing. Do the bands run true to size, or am I gonna feel like I'm trying to squeeze a sausage in a casing that is too small?

Hi! I'm new to bratabase and I want to order a 55G from Comexim but I hear they don't speak english. Anyone else here who already has ordered that size from them? In that case would you like to share your experiance, measurments? Maybe if I like your bra I could get past the whole language barrier by ordering the exakt same bra if you just give me the information.

they do speak english :) I ordered in english!
They have very limited English and will use google translate, but you can place your order in English and it should work out fine. I've done it a couple times, and I tried to use very simple language to keep things from getting lost in translation!

If I had a bra brand, I would use index sizes. I would have a straight-forward naming system for the models (like certain endings meaning plunge, halfcup, etc...). The naming thing would be super cool, I think. Samanta has a cool system going on, but it is confusing because model numbers aren't unique. There ... is a certain style/theme that is named, and they have it in their multiple cuts which are numbers. So there is a Mintaka A124 and a Mintaka A330. And they are pretty different but have the same name. I think that is a cool system as they have the same design in many styles, but it gets confusing (especially to add to Bratabase, LOL).
I would have weird franken-names. Say the suffix "-ella" meant "plunge" and "-iana" meant half cup. I could have a base design called "Prim" (I have no idea how I thought up that name lol). The bras could be called Primella and Primiana. You would know they are the same design, and also immediately know what style it is in based on the name, which is more succinct than "Prim Plunge" and "Prim Halfcup." Especially if there are cuts that are hard to distinguish in a name, like what Samanta makes. And, sister cuts would be immediately apparent.
Model numbers would follow the same pattern as names, so they would be unique but it's a logical system. "Prim" design is 001-. Plunge is -01 and halfcup -02. Primella is 00101 and Primiana is 00102. Or maybe cuts could be letter combinations.
I don't know, this just sounds so cool to me. The hardest part would be making up names that go with anything! If this already exists, I'd be amazed.

But i'm a 32J in panache (with everything needing to be on the second hook halfway through the first wear after a wash), and EM's sizing thing (with a VERY tight measurement) put me in a 32HH, but I ordered 1 hh and 1 j

It's not your fault ladies. Too-small bra cups are known to affect your listening skills! It's even been said that once you finally put on a bra with big enough cups you'll hear angels sing ;-)

Um . . same ones? it kinda goes together, because i'm looking at bras with 13-14 depth, so if they are more projected, by definition they kinda have to have smaller wires. But the ewa michalak are supposedly smaller

what is it about the Cleo Jude that makes it such a monstrosity? I bought it on Zulily a while back before I knew it was "the Cleo pariah" (source for that quote from an old /r/ABTF thread (can we please always use that phrase now)). I know a lot of people said the cups were too tall, ... but what IS it about the underwires? That's my only gripe with it.
I was rather uncomfortable in it when I first tried it on when it arrived, and thought it might just need a breaking in. I kept it because I had no t-shirt bras. I wore it today when I had to wear a nice dress (and I feel like I filled it out way better than last time... I'M SO HOPING I'M NOT GROWING). I think I actually fit it pretty darn well. The underwires are just strangely uncomfortable. It's a completely new feeling, and I can't pin down what it is!!

Ughhh, Jude. Cups were fine with me too but the wires were very stabby at the gore. I always thought it had something to do with the gore not being part of the band...

Has anyone tried a Venus of Cortland design before? They're on zulily. Some of their granny bra designs are available in a 32 band!!
What I know: Cortland buys up the rights to patterns/models that other manufacturers don't want to make anymore.
What I don't know: the quality or sizing. (Had a bad experience with another company that does the same thing, Valmont... they kept the vintage sizing, the cups were huuuuge compared to today, but used modern superstretch fabrics and cheaped out on everything, I would not recommend even for stage costume purposes.)

How forgiving or tolerant are you of minor fit issues? Are you OK with a little flutter at the hemline, upper or lower portion? Are the wires a trifle wide? Some wrinkling here and there? When does a bra go from fitting to not fitting, or vice versa?
Deal breakers for me include lots of wrinkling, gaping, band much to large or small, quadding (even minor quadding), overall discomfort, bad shape mismatch, and unattractive profile.

Ok-ish: slightly loose band (I sew, can take it in), minor quad not visible under clothes, minor discomfort (firm wires, itchy fabric. Will soften with time)
Dealbreakers: painful/uncomfortable (fidgeting often while wearing). Poor shape. Visible quad under clothes.
Basically, if I don't want to wear it (for whatever reason) it's a goner. What's the use of having beautiful bras if they hurt or you never wear it. It won't do anyone any good sitting in the back of the closet.
Edit: oh, and I don't usually have to deal with wrinkling, but it's the same for quad. If it's visible under clothes it's a no-go
Dealbreakers for me are straps that don't adjust up enough to give me any lift (a big issue for a shortwaisted gal like me - most straps are too long), quadding on both large AND small boob, and if it just looks really unflattering.
I need a really narrow gore and narrow wires in general, more than I'm usually able to find, so as long as my boobs will at least stay in, even in the wires dig in a bit, I can tolerate it. When the gore floats so badly that my boobs slide out underneath it, or the wires are so wide/tall that it really rubs my armpits, that's just not gonna work for me.
But I'm pretty lenient. If nothing falls or pops out, they're well lifted and they don't look saggy or pointy, I call that a good enough fit to keep.

I'm 5'3.5" and I find bandless really uncomfortable because the wires dig horribly into my rib cage. I've given up on them completely.

You could buy like an XL bralette and add wires from an old bra or cups from an old bra and then take in the bottom on the bralette and add the cups?
It'd take a lot of sewing and probably trial and error, but it could work.. maybe!
So in my 28E Cleo Bonnie it wrinkles and gaps, but when I lean over I actually fill the cup properly. What does this mean?

In seriousness tho I'm guessing you mean that it's wrinkling at the top right? So given that your breast tissue would come forward when you lean bc gravity, I would imagine the shape is meant for someone full on top and it's not a match for you. However i wouldn't consider it a big deal since its not causing you pain or anything tbh, just decide whether it bothers you.

Someone mentioned that if I was going to order from EM, and was considering ordering another later, I should just order both at once and return (or sell here) if it doesnt work out. I thought that sounded nuts, but hubby actually agreed.
So I was thinking of getting SM Beżyk, which is an unlined sheer-ish lace bra - ... but its discontinued. So I'm looking at BM Niebieskie Migdały and BM Bibi beżowa Perła. The only difference I can SEE is that Migdaly has some blue lace and ribbons and Perla doesnt. Does anyone have both, by chance, and know if this is true?
Also, these lined BMs seem to run a cup smaller than the unlined SM - so while I was expecting to order a a32J in the unlined SM (Fiolecik, which stole my heart), I think I'll need a 32JJ in the lined BMs - I'd love any advice on that too
I joked to hubby that I thought I knew why he said go ahead - he got 3 games in the mail. But no, it turns out one was a freebie (because he helped play-test it) and one was a set of 3 used games, one of which he thought he could sell for what he paid for the 3.
But still . . . I already ordered the decent exposures bra-shirt for doing winter yoga in (I havent done any yoga in months! brrr), and maybe this weekend it looks like I'll be ordering 2 EM!! I so hope they fit . . .

Do you mean padded? Because the BM isn't sheer, but it is a unpadded seamed bra. The S is padded and runs smaller.

is side/armpit/back fat an indicator of bad fit, or is it just inevitable with chubby girls? I have a lot of bras that seem to fit quite well except for an armpit or back bulge (especially after wearing for a while). I've been trying for ages to get a good picture and post it as a fit issue for one ... of my bras but I just cant seem to get a good pic that really shows what I see and feel. How can I tell what is breast tissue and what is other fat? If a bra causes armpit bulge does that mean its' going to cause tissue to migrate?

I think sometimes it's just fat, sometimes it's breast tissue that wandered off and got lost, but I also think it's very specific to the individual. It is not necessarily a bad fit indicator.
I also don't think it's inevitable with chubby girls. I think it's an issue of squishability. Some woman have very soft tissue, whether it's fat or breast, and it tends to bulge if you even look at it crossly.
Finding the lateral and superior margins of my boobs has been extremely challenging and frustrating. I don't get have periods, naturally, so there is never that time of the month for me when my breast tissue is especially tender, which is purportedly one way to tell if it's fat or breast.
If a bra compresses or otherwise displaces breast tissue, then migration can occur. Assuming you believe in the theory of tissue migration.
At least that's my understanding.
I know migration is controversial, but I subscribe to it because I seem to have gained size since wearing better fitting bras, and I don't want to undo that :P
It seems to happen the most in Curvy Kate and Cleo bras for me... Im thinking because the wings/bands tend to be quite narrow, they're just squeezing the back fat up.
Even during my period I can't tell where my breast root is at the side. I saw that you should press on it and then you should be able to tell, and i think that would work for thin girls, but... nope, still can't tell what is what.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here hating on body fat... I'm just sitting here wishing companies didn't think small band=skinny!

Ohmyboobies If I'm understanding what your looking for, if you search the bra listings by measurements, you will find bras, if they are there, that should fit you.
I don't believe there is a way to directly compare other users body measurements to your own, as the body measurements are only 'public' if a fit check is posted. Hopefully you'll find your boob twin and then you can stalk their bras, and converse with them to get recommendations. I've got mine and she's wonderful! My best advice at this point is to go to the page for your favorite fitting bra, check the other users that have it marked as 'fits' and then check thei profiles to see which other bras they have.
