Pointy breasts

Am I doomed to having pointy breasts in soft cup bras? Or is it a case of the wrong bras and/or the wrong size? Or am I just used to molded bras and the silhouette that they give?

Looks a lot more pointy irl)
The freya instinct is slightly big in the cups, but not enough to size down.

- Well it depends a bit on what you want and on your natural shape and firmness--if you're young with firm, dense breasts and firm skin and your natural shape is very pointy, it'll be hard to get that flattened-front rounded shape that looks like a molded cup.
  
  However, with the right cup construction you can easily get a perky and uplifted shape, even if it does have somewhat of a defined apex.
- I don't know how to figure out if my breasts are firm or soft. I haven't had any major weight gain/loss-- back in 2007 I gained about 8lbs in 4 months. I don't know if that would be considered major, the weight came off once I quit that job. No pregnancies, or breast surgery. I'm 31.
  I think my natural shape is pointy. Some of the bras I've gotten make it look like I'm not wearing a bra.

Selling my 34E Parfait Charlotte Padded Bra on Ebay...

The bidding starts fairly low. I only wore the bra once (for about 5 hours!) and washed it once (on the delicate cycle in a lingerie bag). It's in great condition! Unfortunately it just doesn't fit me.

RIP SM Cynamon - lament for the t-shirt bra that was as good as it got

It finally happened. It had to happen sometime. My beloved 80JJ - » Sm Cynamon (517) Ewa Michalak has walked out with me for the last time. Tie black ribbons on the doves in the square...
Melodramatic maybe, but it's a pretty big (no pun intended) loss for me. About a year ago I got a new ... job (yay) which requires me to wear a white t-shirt as part of my uniform (dear gods please. no. ) and ever since I've been fruitlessly searching for appropriate underwear.
I understand that at 36K or thereabouts a seamless bra would have to defy the laws of physics to actually do what I need it to. Today's capabilities of engineering are advance but not magical. I need some sort of structural seaming and rigidity of material to hoist my bosom into place. AND regardless of colour and styling, EM bras are pretty much the only ones I can wear that fit, support and don't feel like a torture device within half an hour; you know, the underarm and sternum stabbing, the shoulder gouging, the back chafing. And so on.
Unfortunately (EWA, ARE YOU LISTENING??) Ewa Michalak is yet to make an ongoing basic style. Some come close and I've tried a few. My 85JJ - Ewa Michalak » S Rarytas (595) has great straps for all day but the padding is just thick enough to prevent a smooth line across the top, and it has ribbon detailing that shows through. My 85J - Ewa Michalak » Sm Kusidełko (652) is supportive but the nude cups have black trim all around (for the love of subtlety, why?). And Cynamon, oh Cynamon. Look closely and you could see the lace but otherwise, pretty darn good. I should have bought six but I kept thinking 'this is so close, surely she'll put out something PERFECT soon'.
Nope nope nope.
So I wore that poor bra day in, day out for a year - how's that for quality? The others made guest appearances when an overnight wash didn't dry out soon enough, but I tell ya, I got my money's worth and then some. I'm no athlete but I don't have a desk job. Last week I was shopping after work (so happy it made it to the end of the day) and crouched down to a low shelf. There was a POP and a sort of sinking feeling on one side and I knew a wire had snapped, and that was it. Of course, not replaceable. Many new beautiful bras available, but for under a white t-shirt, forget about it.
What now I ask? I've ordered a Curvy Kate Daily Dream but the Daily Boost was no good, so I'm not holding my breath. Sure I have the others in the meantime but I'm not happy about it.
BASICS EWA MICHALAK, BASICS!!
At least I now have a spare wire for when I kill another EM.

- That's terrible!
  I have some potential good news for you though.
  On their Facebook page, somebody recently posted about their wire snapping. Ewa offered to fix it if she would send it to them, so it may be worth asking about!
- Thanks for the tip jlcl119 . Tbh I've no problem with the quality; if the wire hadn't snapped I'd have had to let it go soon anyway. I truly did wear it to death. I'd like it if Ewa offered to make me the t-shirt bra I need tho!

Not wanting to get rid of a bra...

Have you ever not wanted to get rid of a bra? I mean, I've been trying to sell a lot lately that just don't work or don't fit anymore. … and I desperately don't want to get rid of my Parfait Charlotte, but the gore digs in at the top (I discovered that I can do higher gores after trying Comexim). It's just so pretty! I know I'm never going to wear it… but maybe one day… lol. Anyone else ever feel like this?

- Ugh yes, so much. Parfait Charlotte was a heartbreaker for me. It's so gorgeous! When will other companies get on retro styling? But yeah bras I love the look of (my Comexim Ginger) I try to just ignore/forgive their issues.

welp...

i placed another order with comexim. i ordered 75E size. before i've tried 70D and 70E and both were way too small in both band and cup, so i'm gonna try one last time before i rule them out for good
i really wish the Luna bra was in stock, that one is sooooo amazing... got the Ginger and Elena half-cup.
keep your fingers crossed for me!

One more Comexim question… :)

Does anyone have the Elena in the Plunge style? There is only one review on bratabase… and I was only able to find one blog review online. Seems like good nude bra… but appears slightly yellow on Comexim's website. Anyone have any opinions of this bra? I'm debating between this one and the Basic in beige from Comexim for a new nude bra. Thanks!!

- I had it and found it to be too yellow for my skin (75L - Comexim » Elena Biustonosz (315) ) -- you can see it in the pic I took from the mirror. I'm super picky about nude colors, though. The Basic in beige was a much better match (75L - Comexim » Basic (170) ). You may have a different experience, of course.
- Hmmm… it will probably be too yellow for me then too. Does the beige show much under clothing? It looks like the seams are more noticeable than other comexims.

Comexim Pearl Flower Mint?

There are only a couple of reviews on bratabase for this bra - both saying the fit is different and not as good as other comexims. Does anyone else have this bra and feel this way? I think it's super cute and want to try it but am worried after the slightly negative reviews.

- Thanks for posting this - I've been wondering the same thing! Love the print, it is so different, and I really want a green bra, but so little to go on with the size & fit here...hope someone shares more info for us!
- I'd say to order it in your standard Comexim size, but with reduced cups, and it'll fit like one of their standard plunges. The fabric softens greatly with wash and wear, and the color and pattern are really gorgeous. It may fit a bit differently than other Comexim bras, but it's still worth the purchase. Hope that helps!

So I ordered a Comexim Luna from Posh. I even called one of their locations prior to ordering to make sure I was getting the size equivalent to 65H. Their website is indeed a mess because although they say they ship same day if you place the order in the morning, it took them about 4 days to even ... create a label for it. It finally arrived today and to my utter disappointment its a 65K! Even when I'm breastfeeding I doubt my goodies could achieve that (although I wish). I checked their site to see if theres anything 65G/H in Comexim to no avail. I'm now impatiently awaiting their response regarding a return.

Got my Ewas and Miss Mandalay!

Tried Miss Mandalay Florine first. I'm excited to do the review on it and add pictures. It's a lot prettier in person IMO. After trying 2 Miss Mandalays now, pretty sure I'm going to stick with them for their unlined bras. I'm still feeling self conscious about unlined atm, but I switch back and forth. They're so pretty and ... they fit really nicely.

My hands were shaking opening the Ewa box. THAT is how unhealthy my obsession is. Lol
The Paris isabout one hundred times prettier in person. I'll have to photograph it in natural light because I don't think any other lighting could do it justice. It's a lot more silky, which is just what I've been wanting. Band is about 28/29, so perfect. I'm having back issues atm so I'm going to wear an extender and possibly purchase some off EM's website also. But for when I'm feeling better, the size is on point.

Not a huge fan of the Kleksik, for reasons I'll add later because I'm running out of time. Lookwise, it's super pretty and my band is actually (fortunately) stretchier than the Paris. Which is good for the time being.

Rapsodia is my favorite next to the Paris. I'm a little disappointed that I don't get the epic push up of the Lawenda, but these are PL's, and a better fitting size. Besides Kleksik. I guess I should go for 65E.

Rapsodia bottoms were ordered in 36 and fit perfectly. I actually asked for a 38 in another email but luckily they were kept at 36 because 36 in this matetial fits great.
I got my Lawenda bottoms in 36 as well and they fit just perfectly.
So happy ^_^ Actually thought I was going to miss the package today because I'm going out and tracking hadn't updated. So. Yay!!

From now on I guess I'll be trying their 65E's and see how that goes because my Paris Paris and Rapsodia fit best. I think Kleksik technically fits, but it's really...giant I guess. I think it's mostly the apex that kills it for me because I'm shallower on top.
I'll post reviews and photos later or tomorrow when I have extra time.

  I seem to have some minor fit issues.
  It definitely seems bigger than the other two (and it actually is, by one cup anyway).
  It has a strange apex that makes the fit kind of weird for my shape.
  It's also placed pretty high up where I don't have much tissue. I'm going to fiddle with the straps and see if that helps any.
  
  The cups are also a bit thicker than the others, which makes it more like a moulded cup IMO. Those never work for me :(
  I'm going to try posting a fit check tonight or tomorrow.

How long does it take for bands to stretch out?

When i first found this site, I learned that you should get bras that just fit on the loosest hooks, so that the bra will still fit when it stretches out.

well, I've now had my purple floris for 8 months, and my envy, which I dont wear as much, for 9. Both have gotten more comfortable - ... the wires dont hurt like they used to - but both still fit on the tightest hook. and i have not gained any weight, I've maybe lost 2 lb.

Is it just that these bras have really firm bands? Or does it always take years to move down to a looser set of hook? Or maybe I'm not even really a 32? I tried a 34 in the raspberry marcie, because everyone said marcie runs tight, but the raspberry is super loose, so even my 32 needs to be on the middle hook most of the time. and I guess I have a 34 elomi, which is fine on the 2nd hook.

- You just have to remember all fabrics/brands are different. Just because you wear a 32 in one brand doesn't necessarily you'll be a 32 in every single other bra. I'm sure you've noticed there are lots of fluctuations in measurements with different fabrics, brands, etc. Have you taken a good look at your bra measurements and noticed how different they are?
  
  As far as Marcie, I don't know if I've heard the rumor that it runs tight. Looking at your bra measurements, your Marcie was 26.5" unstretched/34.5" stretched when new, which is very, very stretchy for a typical 32 band. No wonder you can wear it on the 2nd hook. ;-) My Marcie (same size as yours, but different color) only stretches to 31.5".
  
  You have your purple Floris stretched band measurement at 31", so it's no surprise that you can wear it on a looser hook than the 34.5" stretched Marcie. :) Your Fiolecik says 24.3" unstretched/30.5" stretched, and your BM Perla says 26" unstretched/33" stretched. Even though the tag on all of those says 32/70, they are VASTLY different.
  
  All of your bras have different band lengths and are of different 'stretchiness' (is that a word? lol), so it makes sense that they would wear at different rates. Also, I believe the lifespan of most bras is *supposed to be* around 6 months or so, so the fact that you're not even on the tightest hook yet after 8-9 months is still really great. Of course, we in the bra community have learned how to care for our bras so they do last longer than that (and a lot of us tend to own a lot of bras, so we rotate more!) Wearing your bra on the 2nd or 3rd set of hooks doesn't mean anything is wrong. It's not dead until it's too loose on the last set of hooks. :)
  
  If I were you, I'd measure the stretched band length of all the bras that feel really comfy right now and compare them. That info might tell you what your "ideal" stretched band length is. In the future, you can look on Bratabase to check stretched band lengths to see if a 32 or a 34 would be best in the particular bra you're eyeing. I find it helpful to click on the link that shows you all of the measurements for each size. Not everyone measures exactly the same way, so I like to see how much it varies from person to person. I also tend to trust measurements from usernames I recognize moreso than newbies (just because seasoned users have more experience measuring).
- Yeah, i do look for that - but sometimes it varies with colors (like the marcie).
  
  But if the average life is 6 mo and after 8 they havent even started to stretch much . . . . that average life seems really wrong.
  
  have you had any bras give out after that short a time? have you actually kept any bras for 2 years?

Soooo.. I just received all of my Ewa Michalak orders in the last few days, except for CHP Lesne and CHP Prohibicja, I figured I would just list them, and not bore you all with reviews on each one (unless you are curious of course )

Fiolecik is unbelievably gorgeous with the purple embroidery. Rokoko reminds me of Cinderella. the photos on the site do not do this one justice (picked it up for my daughter) I will add photos and measurements of each one, hopefully all tonight

Just saw on my Youtube suscriptions that Herroom uploaded a bunch of videos for many bras. I like how they're under 1m but I think they could do a bit of better job showing off the bra other than still pictures in a video -__- .

Among those, they added many more videos of their "Bounce test" where they show ... the sports bra's control capacities on one model.

I imagine her waking up that day thinking "Ugh, got to go to work and run a mile in 20 different bras" and coming home late at night walking slowly hugging her boobs still.

- That's a perfect opportunity to show a full 360 view of the bra but they don't take advantage of it. The one thing I hate about online stores is often they don't show a profile view so I can't see the shape it gives. :\
  
  They do give profile views of the sports bras though so that's good.
- @velociraptor, you're right! The 360 view could give us a lot of critical info. I, too, dislike when manufacturer photos, store photos, and blogger reviews omit the profile view. The side view is often the dealbreaker for me. You can make a lot of bras look good if you only show the front.

Ahh, so I just got my crazy cheap ($10!) Claudette Dessous in the mail from their encore sale, and the 30FF fits AMAZINGLY. It is the most comfortable unlined bra I've ever put on, and give me an amazing shape. I'll post a review when I have time to measure, but I'm so excited about this bra I immediately ... had to post a question:

I bought this bra in one of the oldest 2012 colorways (pink/black) because is was the most deeply discounted. I've heard this bra has changed substantially since then, and between colors. For those who liked the original model, did the changes mean the bra no longer fit you? I have a tall root, and worry about a shape that could be more closed on top. I look forward to getting more of these as Claudette continues to release new colors, but don't want to get my hopes up if the newer versions aren't going to fit.

- I can't comment a ton on cup shape, but the newer bras run super tight in the band. Like, I could not physically stretch the 28 all the way to 28", and because of the fabric, this is a bra that I prefer to wear a little looser on a hot day. I got an extender and it works great for me.
- I agree with runs_with_scissors that the 28 band doesn't stretch to 28 inches in my Blondie colour way which I believe is not from an early season. I have some bras from the Encore sale waiting for me in my US mailbox and as soon as I get my hot little hands on them, I'm definitely going to write some comparison reviews on sizes and colours.

Ewa S Eden

I don't need new bras. I've got a decent rotation. My hubs isnt one of those 'lingerie guys'. I really shouldnt/can't afford another 'unneeded' expense. But it's soooo pretty. And I passed on the Ewa Michalak S Turkusowe Kwiaty and have regretted it. I'm ordering the S Eden in 75H with matching 42 thong. Someone be prepared to buy it from me if it doesn't fit, please?

So I got dh's approval to buy that new EM Eden . . . I'd been wanting to try an S, and I think its adorable, and its on sale . . . and then I thought I could just pretend I didnt order it and forget about it. Uh . . . .no. Not happening. another 6 weeks of going crazy lol

- I bet you won't have to wait that long. It's always been about 3 weeks for me.
  
  And yay! Eden is pretty. It's not my style, but I do like the look of it.
- Last time it was about 6 weeks or slightly longer, but they didnt have the fiolecik material and had to order it.
  
  and it does say "On request - ready in 16 days" so she has to make it. 3 weeks would be amazing, but i've got to be prepared for 6 lol
