Ewa Michalak!
I got my ewa order! And the first one I put on fits pretty well I'll put up a fitting request later because I still have some wrinkling at the bottom of the cups

Ok so depending on when I measure (either before I put a bra on or after I take it off) my full bust and perimeter I get contradicting measurements. My measurements vary by half inch between the before and after. Like my Standing perimeter before bra is 10in but after taking off my bra is 9.5in and my laying perimeter is 9.5in before but 9in after.
Which should I go by?

I once mentioned that I had a friend telling me that her nipple to neck distance also varied right after she took of her bra or spent some long time braless.
I don't have an answer, since variation in boobs is quite common. Maybe use the middle value. I imagine that it is a similar situation to seeing your weight before mexican food or after mexican food.
I would definitely average it!
Or use the larger measurement maybe?
My recent Comexim order (Scarlet, Veronique, and Roma), which shipped out January 27, is JUST NOW showing itself in Springfield, MA. I'm seriously so overrun with joy I could cry.

Ooh, I have a couple of questions for you:
1) Was Scarlet already on sale when you ordered it? I wondered if they would sew bras in the sale section (or do things like reduced cups, etc.)
2) Did you order by email or from the website? The reason I ask is because, although I considered myself a seasoned veteran of Comexim orders, apparently I'm hearing now that international orders are to be submitted on the website instead of email.
I don't think they will customize bras when they're on sale, as they pull from current stock for those. Doesn't hurt to ask, though! :D
I sent Anna an email for the order, and she didn't say they no longer accept international orders via email. However, the order was placed in early/mid January, so maybe it's changed since then? I just assume the website won't work for int'l orders, as it hasn't in the time that I have placed orders with Comexim. That would be fantastic, though, if the site does now work, so I won't have to wait (sometimes, weeks!) to receive a response.

I'm still looking to get rid of some bras I can't even wear. I've got a 30J Freya Arabella, a 34H Panache Tango Classic Plunge, a 32JJ Curvy Kate Romance, and a 34HH Panache Andorra. Anyone interested?

the romance might fit me - if it was a full inch narrower in the cup.
Interesting that that jasmine looks so rounded on you - didnt someone just post a review of it being very pointy on them?
Sorry, cant help you.
Really? I've never seen anyone look pointy in a Jasmine. Link?

Has anyone noticed that Amazon sells some bras in a "Husky" cup size? I've been taking advantage of the free Prime shipping/returns and I noticed this on a few bras.

Its only an error. They dont really have husky sizes. I wrote them about one I saw, and got some sort of free shipping coupon I couldnt use lol
If I remember correctly it just means an 'H' cup. Still silly though!

Got the bra *almost* finished, just straps, closure, and dying left. I go to assemble the straps, and while the stapling easily fits through the slide adjusters, the blasted rings are too small. It appears that they're 1/2" instead of the requested 5/8". I fired off an email, but it's been almost 2 months since the original order so I'll probably just have to buy more.
Filed under Bras ups and downs
aww. will you just buy more?
I emailed them hoping they'll replace them. Since it's such a small item I'd end up buying them somewhere else rather than from sewsassy again if I have to (if I'm only buying the rings and not a full order.) They have a minimum shipping charge of close to $7, and the rings would fit in a regular letter envelope.
First of all, I have 2 questions. 1st one is for sayitifyoumeanit how come you can't wear plunge bras? I noticed a comment from you located on the bra alterations section where you said you can't wear plunge bras. I found this interesting because both you and I have center full and close ... set girls. And because I love plunge bras. Sorry in advance if I missed the reason on your blog.
2nd question: What is a U band?
2nd of all, I noticed issues with a lot of my bras. Straps being way too wide for me and center gores digging into my center breast tissue. I thought about sayitifyoumeanit's blog on center fullness being a dominant trait and what she does for this problem. I just tried on 1 of my favorite bras with pins in the center gore, to bring the cups closer together, with a band extender.
Took care of 2 problems: Gore digging into my close-set, center full boobies and made the straps more narrow. Did the same thing on another bra that is a plunge and the straps became the perfect width for me. I wanted to share this because I know that I'm not the only one who has narrow shoulders and center full close set girls, (dani ). Altering a center gore is one of the easiest alterations to do also.
Love this website and all the women on here, btw!

I know I'm not who you were asking, but I can't wear plunges because my tissue is too soft and my breasts seem to have magnets inside and they puddle together in the middle. I need a higher gore to separate them so the cup doesn't dig in where the gore meets the cup.
I'm a little curious about the plunge bit. I dont want plunges because my soft, somewhat center-heavy, somewhat close-set 32Js tend to climb out the middle of bras that are too low-cut. Plus, I get rash and really want them SEPARATED! It seems like in my size, plunges squish your boobs together. Cuz they cant pull them apart.

Does anyone have an idea of delivery time to the UK when ordering directly from the Comexim site? I placed an order last Sunday and the money left my bank account Wednesday or Thursday but I haven't had any emails advising when the despatch date might be (is it "despatch" rather than "dispatch" for talking about sending ... things? I can never remember!)
Am curious to try out my purchases ๐ Not entirely confident I've ordered the right sizes so am anticipating a period of trial and error... I can but hope though!
Thanks in advance for any advice ๐

It usually takes about two weeks for bras to be dispatched/despatched from Comexim (I think you can use either spelling, btw!). Anna sends out an email saying they've been sent, and then I've found they arrive pretty quickly after that, only about 3-4 days. Good luck! I really want the Yoko and the Joy longline because so pretty, but have managed to resist so far...
Thanks! I've ordered the Yoko as well as the Mint and the Ingrid, but the Yoko was my favourite ๐ hope it fits!
Is there a way to measure what cup width you need? Or is it more of a try bras and figure it out from there?

There actually is--I saw it mentioned on a bra-making thread at one point--but I believe the "proper" way involves at least one piece of specialist equipment. There is probably a DIY method. I'm going to try and find the place where I saw it mentioned and copy/paste the relevant text here.
Ummmm OK so I found the one I was thinking of, it is behind a paywall unfortunately I think... it's on the Foundations Revealed site. I don't want to copy a whole long passage verbatim as I might be accused of screwing over the site or the author, but basically they suggest the use of something called a Flexi Curve (which looks in the photos like just a long, noodly-shaped flexible ruler) and molding it round your breast root. You can then use that to trace your root shape on paper and measure anything you want to measure.
Does that help? Bra-making peeps can probably shed more light on this.

Thanks to Scharminkeltje, I got my Samanta order finally, the Mintaka A142! It's gorgeous, and I'm glad that the 65E really does translate to a 30DD. Yaaaaay bra friends <3

You are most welcome :p
So with spring and summer right around the corner I am reaching for dresses much more often and of course they are strapless or have these tiny pointless straps. Contrary to popular belief implants are not completely self supporting, they do need support still. So I am wondering if any of you lovely people have any advice or favorite strapless bras. I am about a 28J (UK). I would prefer a cup with less coverage.

I think your best bet might be the Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless/multiway Bra (CK2601) Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many strapless bras that go above a G cup. I think the only other one is Bravissimo Contour Strapless (AU31) but it didn't get many good reviews here.
Good luck sister... Even before babies and aging struck, as a very projected, narrow 32E I already couldn't find a strapless bra I really liked. Some ladies do manage to find something that works for them but for many of us, finding Spring/Summer attire that allows a regular bra is CONSIDERABLY easier and less of a pain in the arse (or boobs, I guess) than finding a strapless that we care to spend any time in.

Hey there girls and boys. Since I have to start making SANE bra-related decisions (i.e. stop buying everything that is pretty and under 20 pounds) I will be torturing you all with a series of questions.
First of all; do you know bras that have cut similar to Curvy Kate Wild (SG1701), Curvy Kate Tempt Me (SG4001) ... adn Curvy Kate Flaunt Bra (CK106) ? These three seem to fit me best and give me a bust shape that I am most satisfied with.
(Also, my Decos are now ill-fitting. I gape. Boo-hoo. What the he-double hockey sticks is happening?)

Those are from the Bombshell Boudoir collection made by Rene Rofe. If they look strangely familiar it's because every bra in that collection was a knockoff of a popular full bust bra ;)

I wear about a UK 36F/FF or 34GG depending on the brand and my weight at the time. I wear about a size 14 in clothing and have a bit of pudge in the tummy and thighs but not a large bum. Anyways, I was just wondering if you have any suggestions on swimsuits? Right now the closest I have that fits me is a tankini from Swim Suits for All which smooshes my boobs but is like a tank top and was super cheap. I attached the pictures of what I already own. Thanks!

For me this is based on what bras work (mostly). Like, I can't wear panache bras, so their swimwear also sucks for me. I can wear Freya and Fantasie bras, so their swimwear is more likely to work. The exception for me as been Curvy Kate. Can't wear their bras, but like their tankinis. I generally will pick something in my size from some old season (b/c, clearance is cheaper, and I'm more concerned with fit than color, honestly) and pair with a solid black bottom. My complete lack of butt makes one pieces sadly impossible, but bra sized swim just feels SO MUCH better on top. I can't get a non-bra sized top to work for me, and anything that fits my butt off the rack I'm bursting out of on top, anything that fits my bust is way too big on bottom. Can't be helped, unfortunately.
Although, in your size range, you have elomi as an option. What's nice there is that they do swim separates. They have the swim bra, and then the tankini is a separate that goes over the top, so you can feasibly wear the same tankini as you change sizes, and just have whatever cheap bikini top you can find in your bra size that fits underneath.
Bra calculators always tell me I'm a 28D or 30D but they're way too small and my current best fitting bras are 28E, 30DD and 32D
I know they're not accurate and I have shallow boobies but it drives me nuts

I mean, it's just an algorithm... If calculators are finding your correct band size (s) and are only 1 or 2 cup sizes off, I'd say you're actually getting some very good results. It's important to realize this is not an exact science! If you were under the impression people in other size ranges or with other breast shapes are consistently getting much more precise results, you would be mistaken. Just be glad you are not in the H+ cup range, where people are lucky if most calculators get within 3 cup sizes of their real optimal size!
I entered the number of my leaning bust and not my standing and got my "actual" result >.>
It IS pretty accurate for what it does thoguh :P

So I have a 75G - Comexim ยป Basic (170) and I LOVE it. Problem is the band is too tight (I sized up AND I'm still wearing an extender on it after months of wear) and the cups are slightly too big. Just slightly, so I'm not sure if it's a shape issue or if a ... cupsize down would be ultimately too small. There's a bit of gaping at the top of the cups and a small amount of space at the bottom sides. I really love the bra, it's comfy and looks gorgeous and gives me great cleavage, I'm just not sure if I should reorder it in a 75E or F. And of course none in those sizes have been added to bratabase. Can anyone determine if the bra looks to be a cupsize too big in the photos? I can add more if needed.

Do you know the shape/if they run true to size?!
I have really been wanting a plain cotton bra since finding my new size, but these are probably too small, unless they run large.
i have no clue how they run.
i wear a 32D, so they seem proportionately smaller and look to be true to size?
one is purple the other is blue.
not 100% cotton, but mainly it feels like.
