My friend let me measure her Freya Deco (4234) so I could enter it into the database. But the tag is kind of faded to where I can't read all of numbers for the 5 sizes on the tag . I can make out the UK 38FF, EU 85FF and US 38FF. But ... I can't read the numbers for AUS NZ and FR and record them correctly therefore the database will not let me go any further adding the bra. Could someone tell me what the sizes for AUS NZ and FR would be if the US and UK are38FF and EU is 85FF? Or even where I could find a conversion chart? Thank you .

• French size for uk size 38FF is 100H. (because we don't use any double letter). But in reality, bras stops at french "G" cup, so 100H do not exist.

  For addig to the mess, if the tag says EU size is 85FF, I suppose the tag would say french size is 100FF, because EU size normally do not use double letter either if I remember well.

• I've been figuring it out that it's more than likely that a bra will work for me one day,then not the next day,and then again the next day,since that's what's been happening lately.Even though all of my bras right now are not the right size,one will fit me better on some days and be completely unbearable and unwearable the next!It's kind of crazy.haha.
  So I think I need a variety of bras in different sizes. O.o

• It is crazy! I have one bra that is super comfortable once a month. It's wearable for a few days more, but that's it. Weird!

• As long as whoever you ask is more prompt than my friend I asked to post me a vinyl from ebay.co.uk you should be fine. I love her dearly, but it's been months and I don't even know what I owe her for postage. :(

  It's definitely worth doing an ask though- someone may be happy to buy & post it for you and you can give them funds via paypal or something.

  I don't know how negligible is breast density on breast weight, but once there is enough breast mass more weight can have some effect on the shape, as much as skin elasticity as well... just to add more variables to the puzzle.

• What I have heard -- but I don't know if it's true -- is that the increased risk mostly comes from the fact that things are simply more difficult to spot in dense tissue than in less dense tissue and are therefore often found later, which results in a poorer prognosis. Anyway, this is what the ultrasound lady told me when I went in a couple of years ago to have some irregular 'lumpiness' checked out. My breasts were very small -- '32A'-ish, I thought, but I wasn't really wearing any bras back then -- but according to her they were dense and it was therefore difficult to tell what was going on (as nothing was found the conclusion was "most likely related to hormonal fluctuation").

Sep 07, 2013 About number of back hooks

I've noticed that most bras I've had in my size of 38DD/E have had only 2 hooks in the back. Except for some cheaper US brands like Bali and Olga which in the same sizes have 3 hooks.When I say cheaper US brands I mean that they are cheaper in price and their quality seems kind of less ... than my higher end bras. I was wondering if this has anything to do with the quality of the band and it's support? Like my higher quality bras by Chantelle, Wacoal, Fantasie and Goddess all have only 2 hooks and the bands on these bras are very solid and supportive. Same with the Bali and Olgas but only with 3 hooks. Does anyone know anything about the segnifigence of the difference between 2 and 3 hooked backs? I hope I make seance.

• This has to do with the fact that most people who are wearing 38DD/E should be in something like a 36G or 34H or something significantly different. A 38 band won't provide very good support and likely won't be very comfortable. More hooks in most people's opinions is significantly more comfortable, but many people think that 2 hooks is more aesthetically pleasing. Higher end bras tend to be more aesthetically pleasing (and more comfortable in the correct size, in spite of less hooks). Most low end US companies design bras in larger sizes to cover up fit issues. The three hook thing is one of the features they do to prevent people from going outside their size range. Does that make sense?

• Personally I wish more bras came with three hooks. And I do agree with Jillsas with this.

Let's convince UK stores to stock Claudette in 28 bands!

After my fit success with the Claudette Dessous Mesh Underwire Bra (CD2000)](model:4575) , I set on a journey to find more Claudette - in 28 bands most of all! But alas, there are no UK retailers selling 28"bands, with 30"s also being rare.

So, I decided to start a campaign: Operation Claudette 28. Let's bug all sorts of ... retailers, to let them know there is a demand for these sizes. If you too are from Europe and are interested in buying Claudette in 28 bands, see my blog post for more info on which retailers to bug!

• Sadly one of my new bras did that to me too.So now I know to look for lower gores.Just not sure how high I can tolerate.A lot of bras I like have a higher gore cause of the bigger size. :(
  But the Satine bra by Bravissimo was suggested to me and I think that one will work quite well. *fingers crossed*

• Try moving the wires away from the more towards the outside of the towards where your arms are. That is what I do and it helps with poking/stabbing in the sternum.wher the center gore is. Good luck. The 1st 6 bras I tried on where the wrong size and shape for me. And another one was a cup or 2 too small. Infact the first ones were all too small. I wish I had known a out bratabase before all that trouble that I went through. I really love this website! It is great!

zulily-Felina and Parmour

Felina &Paramour is on zulily today. Personally I've never heard of this brand, but the prices are really good. The sizes run 32C-40G (*US sizes so be careful*) The bras are basic but pretty, and would be nice to determine size given that they are $15-$17.

• I have a lot of experience with@ Felina, and @Jezebel ,@ Paramour is new.@ Felina runs big, if your band is 32, 34 will be very big, loose on tightest setting. They go to G cup and start at 32 band.

Help with Parfait Charlotte?

I received my Parfait By Affinitas Charlotte (6901) in 28E today. The band is a true 26"- I can fasten it easily, and it doesn't feel too tight. The cups fit fine, no gaping or quadboob. Really, the only minor issue are the straps which are on the wide set side. But.
The wires are practically assaulting my ... sternum and sides, a problem I so far have identified with too small bras.

What should I do? Exchange for a 30DD? 28F? I really want to wear this bra as I like the shape and fit, but it's too uncomfortable to wear now.. help pls

• I think a 30DD might be alright. If the shape is fine and the fit is fine but the band being tight makes it really uncomfortable there's no harm in getting a larger band.

• hmm so even though I don't find the band to be too tight / it doesn't feel too tight, it's still the source of the wire digging? Asking as I've only had the exact same pain as a result of too small cups.

• MilkAndHoney - I'm sad to hear it didn't work for you! :-( It's funny, the first thing I thought when I tried this on was that I had to let you know about it! :-)

  (Now I'm hoping this really fits, lol. It sure feels like it does...)

  I think that maybe you have a bit more forward projection and I'm a bit wider in my roots?...(It's hard to tell from photos, of course.)

  I've tried this Porcelain bra in several different sizes over the last year, in a quest for a moulded bra that didn't pull my boobs down to my hips. Each one of those fit in somewhat awkward ways. The 28DD was so bad it was nearly comical. The 28E, 30D, and 32D each looked like I strapped two tea saucers to my chest and hung myself from a hook in the wall. The cups left indents all over me and they actually hurt. With 30E the cups were too wide and they felt like they were trying to become part of the band under my arms.

  The Viva, for some reason fits in a much different, better way, in 30DD, which caused me to me wonder if, at some point, the style subtly had been "updated". I don't know for sure if this "Marni" style is a slightly different cut from the regular t-shirt one, but with this one the cups "cut" at the top only when I push my arms backwards, and any bra does that. I'm just happy that for a soft, everyday bra it manages to keep my side tissue inside the cups, and it's completely smooth under clothing.

Babydolls

Today I have a naive question, I feel a bit ridiculus, but you bratabase lady are not mockers, so I ask :

How can you wear a babydoll with a real bra on top (like the ones of Elomi, and Curvy kate and Cleo this automn winter) in real life ?
Is it a summer loungewear if you live alone or ... with your lover ?
Is it something to wear in sexual occasion ?
Or can you wear it like a bra under a dress ?
Other ?

I had 0 lingerie education from my mother, cousins, etc, only "wear cotton white knicker" and "a t-shirt bra". And all the babydolls, basques, etc I see are in photos or movies, so I can't really understand how to use it in real life.

• I haven't worn one of these things since I stopped fitting the ones without built-in bras, and it is only recently that the ones with built-in bras have become available. I assumed that they weren't sleep bras (because they look like they have underwires) which I think makes them loungewear or sexual attire.

• I'm interested in trying one of these new GG+ bra sized babydolls as a slip. I don't like having to adjust the straps on my slip, when my bra stays in place so well. Also my slip tends to show through the neckline, or under arms, even when my bra wouldn't.

  Babydolls are a bit shorter than my slips though. And the main reason I wear a slip is to keep my dress from hiking up - so I might need to wear a half slip or bloomers anyway. So, I'd have to figure out where to get a nice pair of bloomers to match Elomi Betty Babydoll (8171) :D

  The "traditional" way would be for sexy time lingerie. But neither my partner nor I are into lingerie in that way, so I'm not going to bother ;)

• I would try a 28FF next with those measurements. Your only an inch smaller then me in the bust measurement and I wear a 28G.

• Have you tried 30's on? I have a 30 DDD/E and it seems to fit pretty well. I kinda figured I would go up one cup size if I went down in the band. I am quite petite, height-wise. I find that I don't seem to fill out the top of fuller cups. I don't seem to be shallow though. I wonder if this is common with short girls?

• It's hard to tell without pictures, but I feel like the main cause of reverse letterphobia is wearing your bra too low. Take your most comfortable bra. Now hike it up as high as you can go without boobs spilling out from the bottom. This position provides the best support. Now tighten the straps just tight enough that they don't fall off your shoulders or move around too much (putting too much weight on the straps can put a lot of pressure on your upper back and neck). Make sure the bra encompasses all of your breast tissue. If you have some on your sides, LIGHTLY scoop it so that it's enclosed by underwire (or if it's wireless, by the cup). Is the cup too big? Is the band uncomfortably tight? Does the cup reach up much higher than you're comfortable with or to the point where it just doesn't look right? If none of these are true, you're probably fine.

Curvy Kate SS13 bras manufacturing fault?

Just thought I'd ask everyone - I had the seafoam Gia, and I had to return it because there were runs/little holes on the band mesh. I'm sure I saw at least one person with this problem before, and it looks as though it was a manufacturing error, but so far I haven't seen CK acknowledge it. I thought it ... was just the Gia but I've seen it on the seafoam Portia, too, so I thought it might be the seafoam material. I think alisa got the same issue with another bra, but I think the Portia is the worst for it? I could really do with any experiences.

Did anyone else have this problem? If you did, which bra was it? What country are you in? Where did you buy the bra from? Did anyone get a response from CK about it? Pictures would be good but not necessary, it would just be really helpful if anyone could reply, or tag anyone you remember having this problem.

  I complained to figleaves and they accepted my return of it. I think they even stated that they will give feedback to Curvy Kate about it. I haven't contacted CK directly about this.

  Earlier that summer I got an Curvy Kate Gia (CK2101) in seafoam. I got the bra from Ebay seller miodestinolingerie NWT.
  The bra looked like new when I unpacked it. After 2-3 times of wear, the band looked like above linked Lottie. I had not taken pictures of the band. I sold the Gia to Ereshiy, maybe she can add a picture of it?

  Elphabra, didn't you have issues with your seafoam Portia too?

• Yep, I had two sizes of seafoam portia that developed that issue at least by the end of trying on, I don't think I checked them beforehand. I think there are pictures of it up here for my 34J and 36JJ. I'm in the U.S. and bought from figleaves.

• I know what you mean. I walk by the bras in Kohls and they just have a cheap appearance, like the quality just isn't there. I pointed this out to my mother a few weeks ago and she agreed as well.
