Wire replacement a success!

I want to thank cupandahalf and MamaPagan for their advice on how to replace a broken underwire of a @Curvy Kate Pricess (CK6001). MamaPagan brought to my attention that there are different shapes and thickness's of underwires. And cupandahalf turned me on to @Porcelynne.com. which is a lingerie and sewing supplies website. That's where I bought the replacement wires for the bra. ( I replaced both so they'd be the same) It only cost a few dollars and really fast shipping. It was easy and cheap and kind of fun. Thanks again!

Kris Line website is horrible at cataloging their stuff

It's always a nightmare to match which of the items of the pictures corresponds to each of the products at the bottom of the page. Which one is the "Brassiere"?

  And, they sell styles that don't have pictures on the website...only in the pdf catalogues.

  I even have the pdf catalogues going back to 2013, so if you're being unsuccessful in finding pics, let me know.

  There have usually been 4 molded/padded styles in KL:

  The "brassiere" is the molded and padded one that looks like the Victoria Secret pushup and is always shown on a small bust model. Cups are usually plain but cradle and gore are decorated.

  The "push up" looks like the brassiere but usually has decorated cups.

  The "deco plunge" is the molded cup one that has very full coverage, plain molded cups and is usually shown on a medium or fuller bust model..

  The "balconette" is easy to see ;) classic padded balconette shape.

  The multi-ways have straps that can be wrapped halter, low back etc.

  Sometimes the style will be listed under white, but only shown under black, e.g.

  The new spring/summer and fall/autumn catalogues have a new molded styles called the S class. More confusion. Awesum, eh?

• Wire height at center between breasts is the gore height and wire height under the armpit is the wing, both included in our measurements we take. Are you looking for a different spot of measurement?

• Hi! Yes, the measurement I mean is from the bottom of the arch of the wire to the midpoint between the two tips. So like the radius of a semicircle. Because it seems like that's the depth of my actual root. The wire of my bra is deeper by an inch, so it can't come up into my IMF everywhere at once (front and sides) without poking into my armpit. I will see if I can add a picture to show what I mean.

• I find that bandeaus are usually wide and shallow (and the band on the bandeaus usually run tight). Both the Freya halterneck bikinis and the Miss Mandalay halterneck bikinis work for me, and are relatively narrow and projected. MM is perhaps a little shallower than Freya, but I find MM's cups really stretchy, so it accommodates me well enough. I wear 28F in Cleo and Panache bras, but I consistently wear 28FF in swimsuits. I have a couple swimsuits added to my profile if you'd like to check out specifics!

• sherrach898 perfect! Just the information I was looking for! Are some styles better suited for fot, even, or fob the same way that bras are cut? I’m going to look at your profile!

Ok. I don't know about any of you , but I find it weird that @AprilGoulding's adventure entitled "Help myMom" has been the last adventure posted in a whole day!?! Where is everybody at? I've been a Bratabase member for almost 7 years and I've never seen such an activity -less bra adventure slump!

Help me to help my Mom

My Mom hasn't worn a bra that fits - EVER! She was wearing 34D molded cup that didn't touch her rib cage or sternum and the top of the cup was empty. Arghhh. She measures for a 65 band and at first glance, in terms of volume my 65G EMs fit. However, after she scoops and swoops she spills all over the place. She is full on bottom and completely soft and deflated on top. Like pudding. After an hour of wearing my 65G SF, this is what happens.

• Size wise it looks good, but I feel she is more center full and the SF is too low at the gore to keep the tissue in the cups. Have her try one of your S styles and see how that fares. I also wonder how a BM and CHP would work for her......

• @MamaPagan I put her in everything I own: every EM style as well as Krislines and Gorsenias. Nothing works. I wish I had one of those FC/S for her to try ...

• At least with Comexim bras, they don't tend to sell out like Ewa new releases have, so the "now" urgency isn't as strong.....

• MamaPagan true! Although I wouldn’t know, since 1. I haven’t bought any Ewa bras and 2. I haven’t been around here long enough to experience her new releases selling out 😂

• I don’t think that a $20 bra should have any import/duty charges. Definitely double check the limits and contest the charges if the bra is within the duty free range.

• Goods $20 CAD or less are exempt. Charges are 5% GST. Unless you are in a province with HST. There’s zero reason for paying $20 more IMO. The $4 one maaaybe, if it was a little bit more than $20 CAD. Contest it if you can.

Kris Line Bikinis

Yesterday there was a sale event for Kris Line bras and bikinis on Zulily; I don't normally order stuff from there, but I started looking through what they have, and there were quite a few swimsuits available. You all may know about my bikini woes, so I took the plunge (no pun intended) and ordered an emerald green Kris Line ... bikini top yesterday as a sort of impulse buy. (I also got my kids some flip flops so I wouldn't feel as badly, lol! Does anyone else do that??? Like somehow it justifies the spending... I digress.)
I don't see hardly any info about Kris Line swimsuits on here, so I had to go in blind and hope the size I ordered will fit OK. (70G) Anyone have any info on their sizing? I hope I didn't just throw more money away on an ill-fitting swimsuit!
Hoping one of ya'll will make me feel better and give me some good info, lol.

• I saw the same sale and ordered not just one, but two bikini tops, one in 70FF/US 32H and one in 70G /32I. I have a couple of their bras and 32H seems to only fit me sometimes.... I have no experience with their swimsuits, however. Let's both keep our fingers crossed together! I think we are very similar in size, so I'm thinking you could be okay.

• I almost got that black and white one too!
  I’ve only ever tried on one Kris Line bra, and it was three cup sizes too big, lol. So I don’t really have a good frame of reference on this brand.

• I think that you might be good with M, PL, CHP, and maybe S and/or BM. S might be too shallow but it’s the same shape as SM only padded. BM is unlined and a more natural shape, but has a little stretch lace on top. M cut is a petite cut, but it does cap out in size out right around our size. So you may or may not fit the largest size offerered. Take note that it’s known for having a really tight band, 1-2 sizes smaller than marked. M is similar to PL as both are plunges.

  I mostly take 65FF in Ewa. In UK bras, I’m mostly 30F or 30FF. Hopefully I have helped you some.

• I would contact them by replying to your original request email and then send pictures of what you received to confirm. See what they have to say.

• This is why I stopped ordering from Comexim, twice. When done correctly they are wonderful, but they are inconsistent at best. Sorry you experienced this as well.
  I agree with @Cupandahalf. Your order confirmation should have your original request on it. Address it to Anna who is the owner. She will either ask you to return them (use Paypal's free return option & make sure to mark the outside of the box with "Returned Goods" to avoid rejection due to import fees) or if it would be cheaper she may opt to just redo them or refund the order.

• where are you that you had to pay to get teh bra through customs?

• Maybe clearance is the wrong word to use, but as with most countries there is a customs duty free limit for any packages/items coming into the country. Our cap just happens to be ridiculously low, so it attracted a fee upon entry? I'm not quite sure the exact customs terminology..but yeah

• I always check the wire marks to see if they follow my roots. It’s kinda neat, right?

• Wire marks can be misleading though. If your breast tissue is compressive (a fair amount of squish to them) as you put your breasts into the cups, they can be squished in all directions and with a proper Lift/ Swoop n Scoop, your breasts may sit higher. This can give the illusion that the wires don't match up upon bra removal, and give the false impression that the wires are below your IMF at times when in reality it's not the case. (Though if you use your hands to hold/compress/lift your breasts like the bra does, you will see how they match up. )

  The perfect bras to test this with are sheer bras, where you have a full visual of the true fit with the bra on then compare it to how the wire marks sit when the bra is removed. I love my sheer Ewa SM bras for this reason. 😍

replacing thin bra straps

I recently borrowed my friends @Carnival Seamless push up(504) 38B bra to add the measurements and photos to @Bratabase's data base. So my friend read the review I wrote and she fully agreed with me that the bra straps on this bra are too flimsy and thin.. So then she came up with the idea of taking off the ... straps and sewing on straps that are a bit thicker and strong. She asked me if I could do this. I said I'd look into it and see what I could do.
So, I was wondering if any of you have ever replaced bra straps and/or have any advice for me?

• Lifespan depends on how frequently you wear it. I’m still wearing my navy Cleo Marcie that I have had a year or so. I’m on the loosest hooks but I did use the extender for 6-10 months. But I have a largish rotation. If I wore it more regularly, I might be closer to the end of its life. I wear them as long as they fit, regardless of how long I have had them.

• Ovulation/PMS bras are nice but if you have any that have stretch lace on top, those are more flexible all month long.

• Bummer! Me with my splotchy pale pink skin can totally relate to the color skin mismatch. That's one big reason I avoid plain beige at all costs and prefer darker browns which are nice in contrast.

  But is it comfortable at least?

• Yes, MamaPagan , agreed, I would never pick this color in person. I tend towards dark blues. It is called powder, and didn’t look greige on screen ;) I like a little looser fitting pajamas. It wasn’t uncomfortable while I slept, but it was tight enough that I felt self conscious/ not very cute in it.

• I perpetually have a hard time with long lines. I have some theories on why this may be in my case. My waist doesn’t really go in from my UB measurement, I just go straight down the side. I also have rib flares to the side and front, so a little under my UB is bigger than my UB. I also think if I sit or slouch my belly pouch helps fill up the longline. Not sure which is the main culprit...

• I love the idea of a longline, but also felt the support wasn't where it needed to be, and also get the band fold n roll when leaning or sitting. I think this will occur for all longlines that don't have strong frontal boning.

  I feel that the lack of support is due to there not being any firm full band support across the upper back from IMF and above since the normal elastic that runs at the wires is sitting several inches lower and power mesh doesn't really do "support" well.

  If you were able to sew some elastic at wires level, it would add that missing support. I have done this with a few of my Comexim Longlines in the past.

Giveaway bikinis + sports bra 28F

Hi, I have listed three giveaway bikinis and 1 giveaway bra. All have been altered to 28F by shortening the band. I have received some inquiries about them, but not gifted them yet, because I would like to be able to estimate if there´s a chance they will fit the new owner (because Jj / Bratabase will gently pay for ... the shipping!). This is why I cannot send them to someone who has not added any bras to the site with fit information, or their measurements. So if you are interested, please have some bras added to the site with a (fit) review and fill out the fit setting of your bras, and please put your measurements on the site, and send me a pm! You don´t have to add any photos to the site if you don´t want to.

I won´t be storing these for long anymore, I will be taking other stuff to charity next week and the bikinis + bra are going as well if someone here doesn´t get them first. The bikinis are almost as new, all of them worn 1-2 times.
