    Hasn't set fit

I've wanted to give Bravissimo another whirl, and with all these cute new fabrics, now seems the perfect time. I LOVE this bra! The support and shape are stellar -- comfortable underwires, and perfectly (but not overly) round shape. I had some slight wrinkling, particularly on my smaller breast when I first tried it on, but it's gone after wash and wear. My only gripe was that the wires at the gore dug in my sternum the first time I wore this, but I've found that to be true with all of the Bravissimo bras I've tried. After bending them out a bit, the issue is gone. Once ... this was resolved, this bra is astoundingly comfortable. The cups are made of a thick and sturdy material, so there's no headlights coming through, and support is great. This bra feels like a nice big boob hug of support, which I generally only get in my EM padded bras. The print is a good compromise of cutesy -- definitely not what I'd call sexy, but also not knocking on To Catch a Predator levels of cutesy. I really like the touch of bright lace to bring in the, 'yes, I am an adult' factor to this print.

Size wise, this is perfect for where I am now in both band and cup. I seem to be somewhere between 32GG/H and 34G/GG. In my order, I tried two of their padded plunges, both in 34H, and one was much too big and the other was mostly 'meh', so I exchanged them for 2 more of the non-padded plunges. I've read Starburst in particular runs large, but the customer service rep I spoke to about sizing claimed all of their non-padded plunges were cut from the same pattern, so they should all, in theory, be sized the same. I love the wide band and 3 hook fastening, and that this doesn't cut into my FoT tissue at all. The wires are a bit wide, but that somehow magically doesn't impact shape much, if at all. Overall, can't recommend this enough for those who love plunges!

You've probably heard that this bra is pointy. Yeah it is a bit, has a retro feel to it. But it's also in kind of a cute way rather than an old ugly bullet breasts way. You may have also heard about this bra's uplift. All I can say is YES. It's in the construction of the seams. I don't know if to get this kind of up lift you need pointyness, but I'm doubting it. This kind of uplift is near impossible to get without padding in this small underbust/large bust range but it does it effortlessly because of the construction. I think this bra is a solid choice in the few bras our size range has.

It actually tacks with my close set breasts, doesn't quad boob or even threaten it, doesn't shift and did I mention the uplift? This bra became more rounded as time went on for me, but that could be due to me filling it out better.

    Fits

This is my best bra at the moment. It's gorgeous, comfortable and fits well. I've had it for a few months and it was great to wear from the first time I tried it on. I bought it full price (about £30) and don't regret a penny.

The fabric is soft and feels great against my skin. The floral design is extremely pretty, though it does show through lighter fabrics. The smoothness of the material means that it doesn't show as patterning through my shirts. I find it great to wear under opaque fabrics.

I like that it's so low cut, and that the gore is so tiny. My breasts ... are fairly close together, so I struggle to find bras that won't into my tissue on either side. This one poses no problem whatsoever.

In all other aspects, the fit is great. the band is maybe a bit looser than it could be, but I honestly don't mind as it doesn't ride up or stop holding my breasts up properly. It just means it's comfortable, and it hasn't stretched out yet. My breasts fill the cups nicely, and I have no spillage or quad boob at all with this model. I also like that the wire is sort of cut low under the armpits, so it doesn't dig in or wrap around too far under my ribcage.

  5. Rococo Charm (SB19)

    Didn't fit

When I received Bravissimo's Ivory/Ice Pink Rococo Charm bra late November 2012 or early December 2012, it fit well. I would've ordered a 28F, the size I already had in Bravissimo's Tanzania Stripe, but they were out. The Ivory/Ice Pink 28FF Rococo Charm arrived, and it fit! Now, mid-February 2013, it seems to flatten me out a bit, if I look at the side profile. (A few weeks ago, I tried the Tanzania Stripe in 28FF and 28G, because my 28F Tanzania Stripes (I bought two) no longer seemed to cover enough, though they didn't flatten me from the side view. To my surprise, and you can ... read about it in my 28G Tanzania Stripe review, both sizes fit. There was less mounding above the top line of the cups in the 28G, but I still got that Marie Antoinette cleavage.) I wonder whether my cup size has gone up. If it has gone up, will it go back down during different parts of my cycle? I don't know.

What I did conclude about the Rococo Charms (I bought two) in 28FF is it is a much less comfortable bra than my 28F Tanzania Stripes. I haven't worn the Rococo Charms much as a result. I have enough comfortable bras now that I don't have to tolerate scratchy materials, poking underwires, or digging in straps. The underwires are not too wide for me in the 28FF Ivory/Ice Pink Rococo Charm, but the channel should be cushioned better.

The colors used in this bra are unfortunately a good example of how not to combine colors. The outside surfaces look fine, but the inside juxtaposes a cooler pink with a warmer pink. The warmer colored underwire channel and back band therefore looked dirty, even when new.

On the good side, the outside color is very pretty and can pass as a nude color for me. I mainly wear dark tops to minimize my upper body, but occasionally I want to wear a nude color bra.

    Edited to add:
Since I bought the 28FF Bravissimo Rococo Charm Bra, I've discovered I can wear 30 bands and still get adequate shaping and support. For comfort, therefore, I no longer wear 28 bands, except in bras with extremely stretchy 30 bands. For this reason, I would suggest you look at the band measurements of this bra and compare them to yours, if you're thinking of getting this.

  6. Fleur Bra (LN103)

    Didn't fit

    Fleur 32K:

Fleur really impressed me. Very comfortable materials, wide straps and overall it is very supportive. I love how Bravissimo bras are really built to carry a 30JJ/K bust, when Freyas are not.

I followed Raspberryleafs advice and got it 1 band size + 1 cupsize bigger than Alana.

I was so glad I got up 1 band size! At first I could barely fasten the 32 band! It’s the tightest band I ever had on a 32 bra.

So I would really advice to size up 1 band size in this bra or if you are between sizes, go with your bigger size.

However sizing up in the cups ... was not a good idea. They are too big on me. If I thighten the straps all the way I can get a decent fit. But there is still some slight gaping on top.
Also I’m not impressed by the shape it gives me. But this might be because it’s too big and it would give me a better shape in the right size.

The wires were really narrow for a bra in that size. I normally wear 30JJ and the wires of the 32K Fleur were not even too wide for me. I needed the wire width of the K-Cup.
Also the wires did not poke me under the arms.

Quality: 4.5 (I don't keep it so I can't say how the quality is after wearing it for some time. Just from the looks I would say good quality.)
Comfort: 4.5 I can't say anything negative about this. The material feels good against the skin.
Apperance: 4 The colors even brighter than on the pictures. I personally do like fuchsia /magenta and teal color, however seeing the bra in real, the combination of teal and magenta a bit too much coloring for me. But it's just a question of taste.

    Overall: 4 / 5 hearts:
If you can get this bra in the right size, it's really a good bra for everyday wear. Supportive & comfy. however I was not keen on the shape it gave me.
And it's quite high coverage, if you don't like this, avoid it. In bigger cup sizes the upper section of the cups is huge, so it wont look quite as good as on the Bravissimo model.

  7. Alana Bra (AU01)

UPDATE: My boobs grew a little, so Alana now gives me quadraboob. And no 28JJ in sight. Sigh.
I think the straps might have stretched somewhat, because now I wear the straps as tight as possible.
I really like the design of the Alana and I'm thinking about writing a complaint to Bravissimo because they don't offer JJ+ cups in 28 bands and/or ordering it again in 30J.

Appearance: Unpadded, three-section-cup bra in Black. Striped bows whrere the straps meet the cups. On the center gore, there is one bigger bow made from the same see-through striped fabric and on top of it a smaller, thinner bow. Upper section is ... see-through and features different kinds of embroidery. The band and the straps are rimmed with, uhm, loops (I can't think of a better description, sorry.).
That sounds like a lot but it really works and doesn't look too busy at all.
This bra is simple but sophisticated and basic without being boring (Hooray for alliterations!).

Shape: Very, very uplifted and sadly, also pointy. Perfect example of Bras I Hate's green shape.
I tell myself that it looks a bit "retro". I found that I prefer tight-fitting tops with this bra. They show off the uplift und the rounded bottoms of the breasts. Wearing looser tops just makes my boobs look, well, pointy. I decided to keep the bra anyways but I'll have to see how I get on with that. I never liked pointy shapes and for me, this isn't a "your boobs, but better" shape because mine are naturally round. Yup, still a Cleo girl.
Also, I don't know how this is even possible, but while there is a lot of forward projection, this bra is still minimizing.

Band: It's wide, features a three hooks and eyes fastening and is very tight. I love that, as I need tight 28 bands (or 26 bands). Also, I was very impressed with the fastening: It is rather big and the sets of eyes are wide-spaced. One could probably put four closer-spaced sets on it but the way it is, I think I will get a lot of wear out of this band. Interesting Sidenote: This bra doesn't have a "wing" with boning. I have no idea if this affects the support or comfort of the band or if they decided to leave it it out because the band is so short in this size.

Cup Fit: Pretty much perfection but a little migration would make me quad-boob. My shape is balanced, I think, but my tissue is very soft (even though I'm in my early twenties and have never lost a lot of weight or breast-fed). This is probably the reason why the tight upper section works for me. If you have bottom-heavy, close-set boobs, this bra could work for you.

Wires: Compared to my usual Panache/Cleo bras I wear at the moment (especially Lucy & Marcie), the wires seem to be more narrow, which suits me much better. When the bras laid flat on a surface, that isn't visible, but the wires of the Alana are less flexible and therefore retain their UU shape better. Because I experienced some discomfort from the wires after wearing the bra for a long time, I'm considering trying to bend them.
The center gore comes up very high but, most surprisingly, it works for my close-set breasts.

Straps: Fully adjustable, wide and elastic. I could tighten the straps about 3/4 of the whole length. Meh. Better than the disaster I recently had with the Freya Ivy, at least. I really prefer having the plastic adjuster things on my back, where they belong!
Still, this means that the straps could work for a variety of people both taller and shorter than me (1,60m). Keep in mind, though, that it is a high-cut bra. The fabric between the straps and the outside edge of the wires comes up to my armpits. It's not really uncomfortable but I do notice it. This is probably due to strap placement. I feel that my shoulders are rather broad for my frame but women with narrow shoulders might face bigger issues.

Overall, the Alana is pretty basic bra and feels very supportive.
I think getting used to the shape will take some time, right now I like the look of the bra better with my clothes off.
Also, I wear a lot of low-cut tops, but that won't be possible with the Alana. Both the cups and the center gore come up high on my chest and peek out of my v-necks.
Even though the bra itself is beautiful in my opinion, I will have to use it as a "practical" bra.
I did try the Bravissimo Thea, the plunge version of this bra, but unfortunately I would have needed a 28JJ which never existed and will never be made because the Thea is discontinued.
I want a plunge bra, NOW!

    Something strange on sizing:
I chose my usual starting point size 28J.
I ordered a bunch of Bravissimo wardrobe staples together with the Alana and none of the other bras fit, they all were at least one cup size too small. Might be shape-mismatches though.

This bra has full coverage and is supportive but still lightweight. I have several and they have not stretched much or lost their elasticity over time. The gore is quite high but sits flat and does not dig in. The wires are not too high at the sides. The shape of the cups does not give me a very round shape. It is slightly torpedo-like but not unnatural. I have a small gap at the bottom of the cup. The fabrication of the cups is rigid (but soft) so the sizing has to be right for a smooth fit at the top of the cup. Occasional issues with wires poking through the casing, not enough to stop me buying this style though.

This is so pretty! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" /> I went up a cup size compared to my Freya bras. The underwire is slightly too narrow and pokes my sides a bit, but I really like that most of the volume is in the forward projection. It gives a nice rounded shape, and the embroidery along the top is very lovely. The band is wide, and nice and firm. Maybe a smidge too tight for me, but I may also just be used to my usual Freya bands. The straps are wide, sturdy, and nice and soft to the touch, and I have plenty of length to spare.

Edited to add - the underwire has widened a bit, so it's now very comfortable, same as the band https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I hope Bravissimo releases this in more non-pink, non-neon colours https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

  10. Dotty Spot Bra (AU08)

Ridiculously gorgeous bra, even if it is rather pointy on me (apparently it's a lot less pointy under a J cup?), though I found the black/café pointier than the aqua/red. It takes a lot of jiggling to get into the right place, but settles over time. Good fit and comfortable, although the central gore does put a bit too much pressure my sternum - I'm not sure if it's slightly too long or short, but it isn't a huge issue. A lot of reviews say it runs large in the band/cup, but I've found my regular size to be fine - it's about half a cup larger in the aqua/red than a usual Bravissimo 30JJ, I think, and I found the black/café more true to size in the cups.

  11. Dotty Spot Bra (AU08)

The Dotty Spot is said to run slightly larger in the cups in the original aqua/red, and I think in black/café the cups are closer to being true-to-size. It is pointier in the black/café than aqua/red. I found the central gore puts just slightly too much pressure on my sternum in both colourways, and I'm not quite sure why, but it isn't a huge issue. I wore my usual size, and it isn't too loose in the band at all.

Very weird fit on me indeed, I'll leave it to the pictures to show (and also, hello breast asymmetri: Rarely is it THAT obvious) I'd say it could only work for someone with soft boobs with a large base, yet most volume at the apex.

The cups come up quite high at the straps, which is placed much further from the armpit than I'm used to.

The band is quite snug - not a whole band size difference, but definitely go with your larger band size.

The cups are very, very stiff - you could almost hear a knocking when knocking on it - and I could ... balance stuff on top of the cup on the table, without it collapsing, so again, good for soft boobies I'd say. And, you could double it as a strapless if you tuck in the straps, it doesn't change much shape from it, and felt rather stable.

It's very simple, very practical - the only ornaments are the little bow, and a shiny trim to the bottom of the band - even the straps are seamless! Would be very very smooth under clothing, and the material also feels smooth and non-clingy.

    • If this would have worked for you, would you say this is more of a t-shirt bra or "the GG+ cup girl's answer to the Deco"? (I just ask because it doesn't look like it'd give much cleavage since it covers so much.)

    • I do think it can give a lot of cleavage, in the sense that it pushes them together, but it does also cover a lot, more than the Deco. So perhaps somewhere in between? Difficult to say when it was so off on me :/

    • What in particular do you think made it bad for you? it certainly seemed to small for your bigger breast - would a larger size if it existed not have helped? what was the cup depth like near the wire? you didn't happen to take a complete side view or under a shirt, did you? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out if it's at all worth attempting for me.

    • Hmm, it's difficult to say what made it bad for me- It was like it was too shallow along the bottom and the top of the cup, and too deep at the apex - my boob could just only make it there, even though it looks to small at the top of the cup. So I guess my breast is too round? And not soft enough to conform to the shape, but not firm enough to push the top of the cup to form to my breast.
Added to that, it came so high up at the straps, I can only imagine it would come up even higher on larger size.

I didn't take a side view or with a shirt, sorry :/ But I'd say it actually has a quite nice uplifted shape - bottom-shallow cups often do - and a nice round apex. And I feel quite sure nothing would show through a shirt.

    • ROTFL at the candlestick. I want to try this bra, but they're OOS in my size. :-( I just keep looking!

    • How would you compare the bottom of this to the Satine?

    • I'd say this is a little less shallow at the bottom than the Satine. But this has a more projected apex than the satine.

    • Thanx :)

I just found my new all-time favorite bra, and will be ordering more ASAP!

The straps are a very soft with a firm stretch and are fully adjustable. I also find that the area of the cup that comes up under the armpit where it meets the strap in the front more comfortable, I don’t feel like the straps are going to fall off my shoulders. The center gore comes up high enough that my breasts don’t wiggle out the center of the bra during the day. The band has three rows of hooks keeping the band firm and in place all day, I feel that the band ... has equally distributed elastic on the top of the band and the bottom of the band so there is no digging in. I can wear this bra on the loosest hooks and have a firm fit. This bra gave me a great shape under a tight fitting shirt. I will be writing Bravissimo a letter encouraging them to make this bra in every color of the rainbow and then some.

*I’d like to say that this bra fits similarly to the Freya Deco, only better. The color nude is almost identical to that of the Freya Deco nude color. I can wear this bra on the loosest hooks, with the Deco I have to wear it on the middle or tightest hooks.*

    Alana in Nude 30K

For this bra I advise to go up 2 cup sizes from your usual Cleo/Panache size and go for your usual band size.
It’s a good basic bra. What I love about it, is the stability & support it gives me. I feel secure and there is no jiggling at all. (Boobs feel like concrete)
It could be quite tricky to find you size in this bra, because the top section of the cups runs quite tight. (which makes it often difficult to work on full-on-top boobs) The solution to this is sizing up 2 cup sizes in my case. It has a fairly narrow center gore ... for a bra in the K-Cup range. The shoulder straps are wide and fully adjustable.

    What I like about it:
    -Stable construction
-Good coverage (fabric comes higher than average Cleo Balconette)
-Makes you feel supported and secure (boobs of steel)
-Wires do not come too high under the arms
    - wide & fully adjustable shoulder straps
    - tight broad band / 3 hooks – back fat minimizing
    - center gore is quite narrow - something I need

    What I dislike about it:
    - top edge of the cups does run quite tight and might cut in if you are full-on-top
    - is a bit uncomfy at first, needs some time to break in
    - there is not much depth in the cups on bottom, cups are quite shallow towards the underwire
    - it might give a pointy look (my solutions to this, size up and tighten the straps)

Comfort: 4 (-1 because the wires getting uncomfy when wearing it during the day)
Appearnace: 5 (I really like the basic /simple but elegant look of it. It comes in pretty fashion colours & basic colours.)
    Quality: 5 (so far I can’t complain…)

Overall if you can find the size that works for you in this bra, it’s a good everyday bra.

This bra is quite pretty, I really like the patterns on the upper, mesh portion of the cup, and the color (Iris) is a lovely purple. The straps are really nice, substantial material (not too thick, just enough that they feel sturdy), soft to the touch, good amount of stretch. It has pretty bows in the middle and on the sides of the cups. The bra feels light and comfortable to wear, and is probably a great bra for someone who fits the shape well.

The cups are three-section, with a small inner section, and large outer section and an upper mesh section. The straps attach to the outer section. ... The main parts are a two layer mesh material, the upper section is one layer of sheer mesh with embroidered patterns on it. The band is a single layer of mesh with a strip of the same material as the straps along the inner edge (continuing down from the strap attachment to the hooks).

The cups are relatively wide, but narrower than comparable size Goddess/Elomi bras. The cups are fairly shallow at the bottom and reach full depth fairly slowly. (This was a big problem for me, I need the cups to be full depth, or close to it, almost immediately.) There is very thin edging, but no real amount of band below the cups. I found the straps to be much too wide-set, probably owing to them being placed in the same position as any smaller size but with a cup this big, it winds up with the straps very, very far apart, so they were basically in my armpits.

The bra fit over my boobs nicely when leaning over (and actually looks pretty good before I "scoop" ) but once I stood up and fastened it (and scooped), they didn't get along so well. The combination of the wires being a little too narrow for me and the bottom bit of cup too shallow meant that I couldn't get the wires to align properly with the base of my boobs (the wires sat too low on my torso, with an empty space under my boobs). The top of the cup would have been great if the straps were attached at a different angle/further in. (Basically if I held the cup an inch or two in from the strap attachment and pulled up a little, the top of the cup looked great.)

This bra helped me figure out pretty conclusively that a balcony/3-section cup is unlikely ever to fit me properly (a "full coverage"/4-section cup handles the cup depth at bottom and strap attachment angle problems better), and that I really do need extremely wide wires.

ETA: I wanted to mention that I did *not* find that I needed a bigger cup size in this bra, compared with the Oriental Bloom, as some have reported. My soft breasts and I do not have a problem with the tightness/enclosedness of the top of the cup.

(Note: I tried this bra on with an extender, as I intentionally ordered it on the tight side and I didn't want to damage the band or hooks trying it on. My report of "how it fits" as far as the tightness of the band is based on how it would be if I didn't have the extender.)

This bra is great for everyday wear - I find it extremely comfortable. It's a little loose in the band and I wear it on the tightest hook, but my underbust is only 26 inches. The shape is smooth and reasonably rounded, but far more natural looking than the Freya Deco, for example. The cups run a little small, which is great for me as I'm between sizes, but you may want to size up if you're not. I've washed it a couple of times now and it hasn't stretched yet - fingers crossed it stays that way! The only small downside is the padding can be a little wrinkled - I tried on two and found this one to be much better than the other. It's a bit annoying if you have to order online, but I wouldn't imagine it causes much of a problem - I don't think you could see it through clothes.

This bra is extremely pretty and still not too fancy for everyday wear, dressing up or using it casually, your choice. It's suitable for both. Unfortunately it didn't fit me, but this is actually my fault. I didn't know my size and I still struggle to get the right fit when I do bra shopping. I'm sure that if I would've gotten it in the right size it would be super supportive and comfortable. The fabric is really soft but still strong, it gives you a nice round and natural shape. It's not a t-shirt bra but it definitely doesn't show any seams and the embroidery didn't show ... through on a tight top for me. The color did of course, it's a color splash! =)

I would definitely say it's generous in the band. It didn't ride up in the back, it was still a horizontal line across my back but all of my five fingers could fit underneath without having to squeeze them in(very much ''give'' in this band). Oh, and that's on the loosest hook. In the Freya Active underwired bra I can hardly do it up on the loosest hook(to give you a reference) in a 28'' band.

I'm short(5 feet/152 cm tall), even on the shortest length the straps are way too long(it's a half-strap design), I wouldn't even have to ''pick it up'' first to brush it off my shoulder, it sits higher up than my shoulder height to begin with. That wasn't a factor for me to return it(I'm returning it), my mom knows how to sew and she helps me alter this when needed. I just wanted to make shorter ladies aware of that. If you're able to get it in your size and the strap issue isn't an issue to you, I highly recommend it to you if you like the look of this bra =)

To get this bra to work for me I probably would've needed a size 26f, bear in mind, the band of this bra runs big.

This is an absolutely fantastic bra - probably the most comfortable bra I own! It runs small in the cup so order a cup size up, and the band is less stretchy than some so judge whether or not you will want to go up a band size. My "normal" size is a 34G, but in this bra I ended up purchasing a 36G and it fit brilliantly. The materials are very nice, firm and breathable the lace trim is very pretty but not itchy like some lace. The ladies at Bravissimo are SO helpful with fitting advice and helping you get the right size, and also have a a great return policy so you can feel comfortable ordering from them even if you are not in the UK.

    • Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me your ribcage measurement. Bratabase says that the band of this bra would be too small for me, even though my ribcage measures 35 inches and I usually wear a 34G and 36 bands are too loose for me. Thanks!

I really thought this bra was "it" but once I wore it for a day I noticed wrinkling UNDER the cup and my boobs did indeed bulge over the top. I love it and only wish I had gotten the right size. As it is, I will still be wearing it.

I gues I should take some more time to tell you all about the bra: It is pretty comfortable and while I am usually highly allergic to any shape that is not completely rounded, this shape is naturally minimizing, more natural but not pointy at all. I love the shape. It is absolutely great material, too, besides being very pretty- I can tug at it and it retains its shape.
