I have heard the marcie is more shallow in lower cup sizes. My issue is I get awful in-cup quadding - its a 32HH, tho, and I usually wear a J, so I am really curious if it would be better in a J. But I dont think, in your size, you'd have that problem.
pic, in case you want to see what I mean: http://media.bratabase.com/cache/2b/65/2b650464aa10220b9ed9191a968cbe6b.jpg
dbmamaz You may get more feedback and reach a wider audience if you submit a fit request for your issue.
I am pretty sure I did a fit request, I'm not asking for help with my bra. I know its a tad small and has awful in-cup quadding and is comfortable.
I am LOOKING FOR information from ppl who own the new colorways (esp black and beige) to see if its likely I'll have less of the quadding problem with these colors now that whatever issues have been fixed
I was looking at other pictures of 30FFs and this one does look more similar to those than my 30G, so I guess it's just the shallow range cut off. It's a bit unfortunate, but it might work out OK in the end.
As for in cup quadding, I had a little bit of that when my red one was like half a cup too small but it was negligible. Even though this one is a little off, there isn't any quadding, so I wonder if it's a red/respberry issue. I don't think I ever had that issue with my pink ones.
Yes, I've heard it suggested that the reddish ones are stretchier and that caused the problem. Idk, i might try a beige or black 32J some day
The band on this bra runs tight and doesn't appear that it will stretch quickly....currently waiting for the extenders I ordered. I can wear it this way but the cups are distorting because the band is too tight for me and the underwires dig so bad they leave bruises.
Cup shape is very open on the top, I can't get it to dig in no matter what position I try. Probably the cutest bra in my drawer at the moment. It's a true red, not orangey. Mine did need some stretching on the diagonal seam as it cut in slightly but it did ... not show under shirts and was very minor. The gore is quite narrow. Overall it fits very well. I slip some comfy cups/no peek pads in and no worries about nipple show through. Seams definately show in most of my summer shirts which I don't particularly care for...but it's pretty enough that I wear it anyway. Quality wise...there were some loose threads but nothing that looks like it's going to fall apart. It gives a very rounded, uplifted, up front shape and is more supportive than Lucy....I can jog in this one with minimal jiggle.
Edited: The extenders arrived and what a difference! The underwires no longer bruise my ribs and the cups fit perfectly with no wrinkling. I needed two positions looser than the loosest hook at first and now just one. This bra is getting a lot of wear! I don't think I would go up a band size personally, just because it will last longer this way. I think this is one bra I will actually end up buying in more colors...especially the aqua that's supposed to be coming up!!

how did you stretch the seam? the same thing is happening to me but i'm not sure how to go about stretching it

Just grab the puckery part on either end and stretch it. Works best while wet. Mine doesn't do it at all anymore.
Ugg, I keep trying, but the in-cup quad-boob keeps getting worse. I'm at the verge of tossing this bra! It looks so disgusting . . . like camel-toes on my boob (only the bigger side - i wonder if its worse because the cup is slightly too small on that side?)
WHEN WILL I LEARN THAT CLEO DOESN'T WORK FOR ME!? Ugh!
My stats: 27H ish, narrow+projected, tall roots, 5'3", close set, moderately FOT average root placement, VERY SENSITIVE SKIN.
Look:
This is the most adorable and patriotic bra ever, lol. It's ridiculously cute and gives a good and round shape.
Fit:
This bra is so uncomfortable! The material is rough, making a nicely snug and supportive bra a torture device (for me at least)! The gore hurts so bad! The straps are similarly rough and scratchy, plus they're too wide set and dig in my armpits. The cups are pretty wide, as is the gore, when combined with the terrible fabric, this makes the perfect medieval torture device in sheep's clothing. The upper cup cuts in while the mid-upper cup gapes. This bra has immediate projection up the wazoo, so it would've been perfect for me if they just used a higher quality fabric.

Aw man, nothing worse than crusty fabric! I can’t stand itchy or stiff fabrics more than anything. :(
Happy2BraShop I know, right? I've gotten spoiled by comexim and EM. I used to love the feel of cleos.
This is my first non-VS bra. Based on my measurements, I was suggested to be a 36GG, but that was absurdly large on me (trying multiple styles), so finally reached 34FF as the right size for me. This bra does a great job of lifting and holding my slightly splayed breasts up front - so much so that it actually pushes them close enough that the gore is a bit too high (which has never been an issue for me, even with the other bras I've tried in the last few weeks) and it digs in a bit. So far it's not serious enough to be a problem. Also, the shape feels little torpedo-y to me, but I think I'm also just used to very little support, thus a more "settled" shape. I think this would be a great bra for anyone who wants a "high and perky" shape.

congrats! yeah, the Marcie shape is very special. you either love it or hate it. But, having found this, hopefully you can start finding more in your correct size!
It looks on the verge of being too small, but Marcie is a very full-on-top shape so sometimes people who are not so full-on-top find it a bit pointy
dbmamaz I think that's accurate - I'm definitely maxing out the cups, and even my smaller side (right) is filling out the cup completely, which is unusual. I'd previously tried the Maddie, but it cut in slightly at the top so I was recommended to try Marcie instead.
dbmamaz Oops, not the Maddie, the LUCY. My bad.
I am so behind in my reviews! Let's catch up shall we?
I originally purchased this bra in a 30E - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) at full price. I was so disappointed when it arrived and sent it back after trying it on.
When this, my proper UK size, popped up on sale at a UK website (Pro Tip: buy UK bras from UK websites. This Cleo is $55 on Amazon, it is $34 at poinsettiastyle.co.uk and I got it on sale for $25 when it was new) I went ahead and bought it again praying that it wouldn't try to kill me like past 28 ... Marcies have.
It didn't!
Sure, it's still not blue and it still had that horrible neon orange trim (which I removed right away) but it fit! And the shape it gives, A+. Marcie is super round, even though she expects a touch more upper fullness than what I have, it's still very globe-like.
The band is great and TTS.
The straps are fully adjustable and comfortable.
The wires are still a little wide at the top.
The cups have even tension (no in-cup quad).
The wire channels are much longer than the actual wires, there is a lot of empty space in them.
The gore is too high and too separate for me, so I use that extra wire channel space and shove them down towards my underarm and sew the channels at the gore so they don't stab my sternum.
It is pretty, it is (mostly) comfortable, and it gives a great shape. It won't take the place of my beloved SM, but they can certainly live together in my drawer.

Stunning! A perfect fit.
if the cohabitation becomes impossible, I would be happy to offer your SMs a new home, without any competition in the drawer ;)
Beautiful!!
This looks great on you! I just received mine yesterday in size 28GG. I've lost weight and have been replacing my 30GG bras with 28GGs. I also noticed that this bra has quite a bit of room for upper fullness. I can not quite fill out the top, but one can not see the slight wrinkling under tops. I'm glad yours worked out too!
Thanks!
vesela_krava of course ;)
This review is for the Bluebell colorway. It's an incredibly pretty shade of pale bluish lavender, but no sooner than the mailman delivered it to me and was on his way back down the driveway, I got to work removing the horrible bright orange trims that (in my opinion) clashed horrendously with the beautiful color! I replaced the gore bow with a lavender one and am satisfied with the finished result https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Unfortunately the strap adjusters and hooks are still an obnoxious shade of orange, but you can't tell from the front so it doesn't personally bother me.
As for the fit, the ... band on this colorway definitely runs loose. My snug underbust is 28," but I have only ever purchased unlined Cleo bras in a 30 band because a 28 is usually way too restricting and uncomfortable. After reading jlcl119 's review, I decided to size down though and am so glad I did... it's perfect on the loosest hook. That said, I really hope it doesn't stretch out quickly. I've owned Marcie in a couple different colorways now, but have forgotten how phenomenal the shape is! Super round and lifted, lightweight and perfect beneath clothes. The wires sit and stay in my IMF, and the lace is filled out nicely without any wrinkling or overflow. There's the tiniest hint of in-cup quadding near where the three cup panels connect, but I think that's just due to the difference in firmness between the lower and upper parts of the cup. As it doesn't show under tops, it's negligible to me. Overall I'm very happy with this bra and look forward to getting lots of use out of it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

This color....beautiful on you!!! The shape is stellar. Is this as comfortable as Bardot?
Thank you!! Yes, it is!
I love the changes you made with the trim and the bow, I think it's so much prettier this way! Looks great!
I reordered this in a 28F when I found it on sale and I did the exact same thing you did. That trim was horrid, and I replaced my bow with a giant white one.
I love the Marcie to death. The yellow color way is pretty true to size, in my opinion, while the pink color way errs on the smaller side. For me, this means the pink one fits better than the yellow!
Overall, this bra is perfect for FOT shapes that need a lot of projection. It gives that half-sphere shape and the pattern of lace/mesh(?) isn't visible through shirts. It's a spunky yellow, too!

I bought this well-loved Marcie as a summer bra. It was getting hot, and my only acceptably fitting bras were lined. Based on what I had heard about the Marcie (that it's the bra to try to test if you're full on top) I was not expecting it to work for me and my even-to-FoB, short roots. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only do I actually fill out the top, it looks amazing AND it's comfortable!
It's not perfect. The wires are too wide, and the inside seam at the lace cuts in a bit on my larger side. But the shape is where it really ... shines. My breasts look perfectly round in this thing. It's seriously amazing. And I don't even need to tighten the straps much at all! None of the fit issues cause me any discomfort, so I can easily ignore them. Maybe it's because it's already been broken in, but the wires don't even feel too hard like Panache wires usually do.
I admit when I first started looking for bras and saw this one getting recommended constantly, I didn't give it much thought at all. I didn't care that it would probably never fit because I wasn't the biggest fan of how it looked. I'm not sure what changed my opinion, but now I actually think it's pretty cute with the bow-patterned lace and little button ornament. And I love how many different colors there are. I have a red one on the way that I hope will be as much of a successs as this pink one.

I'm celebrating here :-) :-)
MARCIES FOR ALL!! Congrats! : ) Keep in mind the pink one is known to run a little small, so the other colors you try might be just a hair bigger!
Marcie deserves the love it gets from the lingerie lovers! I thought, being even to FoB, that I would never get to wear it's gorgeous colorways...but I thought wrong! This clarifies it: http://www.myfashioninsiderblog.com/2016/04/lingerie-cleo-by-panache-marcie-28f.html

Hey, I found a Marcie that works for me! Thankfully, no in cup quadding in this colorway. I hear that problem has been fixed with the new run of the nude ones, but the white dots on the nude colorway make it useless for me as a nude so I'm not interested in finding out first hand. Regardless, this is pretty good on me despite being recommended for FOT/tall roots, of which I'm neither. The cups do gape a little bit. Nice projection at the wire. This particular color has an extremely tight band. Not sure if that's true for all the yellow ones or if it's just mine, but I need an extender at first. BTB even asked me to verify the stretched band measurement since it's only 26.5! Full review on the blog.

I wish I lived closer to you to try it on!!! It looks so good on you! The 28G was an awful fit for me. I like that the band runs small as I'm realizing i haven't got a good UB measurement from my shape and a semi recent collarbone fracture making it hard to get& I'm learning it's smaller than I thought. You always look so great in bras!!!
girl333 she really does look good in bras.
Thanks! It's definitely better for taller roots. But it's good enough to keep. I'd totally let you try it on if you could! Hope your collarbone feels better soon!
lcl0706 sorry for the double post. Cell phone posting"/! Thanks, it's a lot better, just gets irritated from overuse& the range of motion isn't great yet. I wish there was an instant bra swap like the jetsons style to try on bras!
It's such a great fit on you! It's crazy to compare how tall the cups were on me compared to how they look on you - it's definitely fitting you way better than it would have fit me. I also remember the pink color way running small, but I think my newer ones are more TTS despite the gaping problem (and then the raspberry one being kinda loose). LOVE IT! Always love your photos too!
Thank you for posting pics with the white tank top. I wondered if those little dots would show under clothing since they are a contrasting color. Why can't companies just make "nude" bras all one solid color? Don't they realize those cute little details in contrasting colors defeat the purpose of a truly invisible nude bra?
Thanks for your review, as always! :)
