This bra is pretty great. It is padded enough to hide the nipples and is comfortable. I wish the edge was a little bit thinner because the line of the edge does show up under tight fitting tops but it's not a deal breaker. I am a bit in between 28F and 28FF and this is just a hair snug on my larger breast but I am pretty sure that I would not be able to go up to a 28FF.
The Cleo Lyzy is cute, but not super stylish, and this size was too small so naturally it wasn't that comfortable or looked particularly good. I think i wrote a more detailed review of this on the 30FF Lyzy i got.
I loved the cuteness and wanted this to work for me for a lounge bra, but like most lounge bras that are plunge it duh badly into my center fullness no matter the size :(
If you can get it cheap and it’s the right size, an easy way to fix that is to just stitch the cups together from the band up to make it less plunging and higher cut. It typically helps round the cups a bit as well.
confused Yeah I feel you :/ This bralette ends up working like a hammock instead of a bra - the boobs are just hanging there instead of being lifted. Which is sorta the goal? But not like this x)
cupandahalf That was a good idea! I like the cup separation because it makes less boob sweat though.
This bra is so girly and adorable! The gore seemed like it would be too seperate for me, but somehow it's at just the right height for it to work. This might change as I've only tried on the bra at the moment. The details on the straps are so pretty! This bra fits me perfectly, you'd never guess it by how pretty it is, but it's so comfy!
My shape: FOT, narrow, very center full, tall roots, projected.
This bra seriously cut into my tail of Spence, and gave me this weird vertical line just outside of the center of my breast that cut into my tissue, the gore wasn't a problem but I think the pattern doesn't have enough center fullness for me, if it weren't for these two things it would've been perfect.
Like i wrote on the same bralette in 28FF - this is so cute and I love the design, but ultimately it doesn't fit me. The cups are too small in addition too the band being fairly tight. This bralette feels too tight because of how the breasts are pushing on the cups because they're too small, so the band or general feeling of the bra becomes artificially/deceptively tight. Full detailed review of this bralette is on the 28FF size. They made the straps wider and added a hook so you can pull them together in the back, which is a great feature for many people out there ...with short torsos or very sloping shoulders.
This bralette wants to push my breasts to the outer sides of my chest, as if they were east-west pointing. That doesn't work for me at all, and is another reason that I fall out of it - my breasts are placed firmly on the middle of my chest, close together, and can only be pushed up and center (like a Cleo Marcie bra does).
On this bralette I measured the cup depth to 23.5cm. That's an increase of 2cm from the 28FF, which I measured to 21.5cm. Neither are enough for me personally, but these numbers (and subsequently the cups) are also smaller on average than other bras in this size. A Cleo Hettie in 28G has a cup depth of 26.5cm and a 28G Panache Jasmine has a cup depth of 27cm, and a 28G Freya Soiree Lace High Apex bra has a cup depth of 25.5cm. Read more 156 more words
I'm actually pretty impressed with this bra. While it's not quite as soft and comfy as most of my Polish bras, it's pretty good. It feels a lot like my Hettie- the cups are fairly narrow and projected for a UK bra. It closes off on top more than Hettie, so it's good for breasts with less upper fullness. Also, the fabric is a bit more supportive than Hettie.
My old cleo minnie was my first properly fitting bra. It's too old to wear now, but I was really impressed with it's shape and lift when I first got it.
Yes, I agree. I love the centred and lifted shape it gives. And not too pointy.
I tried this bra on along with a 32FF a couple years ago, but decided to go with the smaller size, in part because I was losing weight at the time. I think that the 32G was technically a better fit in some ways (at the time), despite appearances.
My biggest complaint was and is the thick edge at the top. It causes a noticeable line regardless of how well the cup fits, both in and out of clothes. This is a bigger problem than the seams. If you are quadding at all, it is accentuated by the edge. The edge can also give the illusion that there is ...gapping (when looking from an angle or the side), simply because the bra seems so thick (I do not think the foam is actually as thick as it appears with the bound edge).
It was too shallow at the wire, but the projection was decent overall. Definitely NOT in my IMF. The top edge seemed to gap very slightly, but this was hard to gauge due to the thick binding. The wires were a little wide. The gore tacked hard.
Caveats: I am full on bottom, somewhat soft-tissued, projected, slightly pendulous, close-set, inner fullness, need a lot of immediate projection. I have narrower roots. I am long-waisted and tall for a woman (5'8"). I have a smaller frame, am a bit deflated on top and have some looser skin. It is not super obvious, but likely affects fit slightly. I was very excited about Marcie when I first found out about this style, and I managed to snag one for a great price in a lovely lime green to try. While I usually don't go for colors, this particular style reminds me of an Agent Provacateur style from many years ago that I was seriously lusting after but couldn't justify (Brittnie from Sp/Su '14).
I really like the appearance of this bra, from the styling to the materials. I'm pretty meh on the polka dots, but I think the embroidery at the top is pretty, and the overall style and cut appeals to me too. ...The fabric is soft mesh and feels pretty much the same as Lucy. However, there's something about the fit that is just off for me.
I purchased this online from an Amazon seller that I have purchased from before, and it seemed to come in mint condition. So, my assumption is that my issues with the bra are due to the cut and not due to the particular bra I received. While Marcie 30D fits just fine in terms of overall measurements, I am disappointed that it just looks kind of odd on me. Something is not quite right here.
First, the wires on me feel very splayed, causing the cups to feel stretched horizontally. I like a wide wire, but these were shaped like a wok rather than a bowl. Since I could (and should) easily go down to a 28 band here, it is not from distortion caused by overstretching the band. I managed to correct for this slightly by bending in the wires a bit (and measurements are taken before bending), but they are still not shaped as I'd like. Also, the wires cross spontaneously at the gore sometimes, though the gore spacing measures exactly the same as other bras that I have, and none of them do this.
Second, this bra raised an issue I never thought I would encounter in a bra: my nipples appear to be in the wrong place! They appear to be pointing too low in the cup, but I am sure it's not my body doing this on its own. I put on a couple of other bras and compared, and sure enough, only Marcie manages to make them appear substantially lower. My theory is that the wide wire of this bra is acting like a shelf, forcing the tissue at the bottom of the cup to fold over itself rather than to lift from the bottom. Imagine putting your breasts on your flattened palms and lifting up-- that's the effect Marcie has on me. Since this bra is sheer and a light color, I can't help but notice this every time I put it on.
I am disappointed that while Marcie fits me, it doesn't flatter me, since it's a popular style and not too hard to find. She's fine worn under clothing, since none of the fit problems are visible, so I'll be keeping her in my collection, but I'm not enthralled enough to seek out a 28DD for a better fit. What a shame! The lime green is a great colour. I personally love the polka dots. Could the nipple placement issue (and shape) be because it’s a fot style with a fair amount of projection? Have you considered doing a fit check for it?
I followed the advice from cupandahalf half and tried sizing down a cup. I also sized down a band and fastened it with an extender, as I seem to fall pretty consistently between a 34 and 36 band. I think cupandahalf is right - this is a better fit! There is much less loose material in the tops of the cups while still tacking at the gore. The shape has a smaller, tidier profile - I have gone from a kidney bean to a cannellini. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The smaller cups still seem wide enough, and the wire so far ...only threatens to poke under the arms. I'll have to wear it a little longer to see if it actually makes good on it.
So this bra gave me a unique problem I have never contemplated before: my gore tacks, but my shirts do not. :/ Both the tank top and the shirt I tied on are stretched out away from my chest at the collar! This gives me some pause, as I am not keen to replace my wardrobe along with my bras.
I find this bra very cute, but a little scratchy. I think a few washes would help with that. It delivers more uplift than most other bras have managed and a nice rounded shape. I like the polka dots, but I wish they had some more colors to choose from in my size.
@cupandahalf, thank you for your good advice! Read more 144 more words
My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.
This bra is cute and fun with the little pink detail on the edges. I'm not a huge fan on the floral print, but it's not too bad. The gore is super low (4 cm / 1.6" in) and doesn't hurt like all of the other Panache/Cleo bras I tried. The cups fit well, except at the top edge where they cut into my breast tissue and give me quad boob. Also, it did not give me a lot of lift, more of a natural shape, but still somewhat rounded. Maybe ...sizing up the cup would help with this since it looks a tiny bit small for me. I loosened the strap the most I could, but it still cuts in. The band is okay on the middle hook, but what I didn't like about it was that where the straps connect to the band in the back of the bra, it doesn't lay flat. I think I got a bra with a defect, since even without wearing them you can see in my picture that it's pulling up the band. Read more 90 more words
note: I ordered this before my size change. This is why I didn't originally get the 30GG.
I really like this bra, but I don't think it fits. What I'm afraid of is that in 30GG the wires would be a little too wide for me. However, if I can still find it I *might* give it a try. However, my boobs really feel like they're at the point where neither of these sizes will fit just right.
The cups on this one are very sturdy, I like that. They're three part cups with a horizontal and a vertical seam. They provide very good lift and for me (weirdly) a ...pretty nice, rounded shape as well. I say weirdly, because despite Cleo bras being a success for many, they are not a success for me. I still shudder to think of bullet boob Marcie. But I quite like the side view in this bra. I get some side spillage on my larger side and obviously, the lack of stretch in the cups makes it so I get some slight in-cup quadding. Nothing too bad, though, and I think under a thicker shirt it wouldn't show. On my smaller side I get both in cup quadding, and then I can't quite fill out the top part of the cup. Along the wire I get some wrinkling, probably because the cups are just plain too small. I will say though, I think this bra has the perfect projection at the wire for me. Feels really good to have cups that are so wonderfully deep in all the right places. This is mainly why I'm considering getting this in 30GG.
The wires on this one are quite narrow, but I don't know why, it's as if my roots have expanded horizontally, these wires just don't feel so well. Again, perhaps it has to do with the cups just being small and my boobs feeling squished, but I feel as if the wires are just about sitting on my breast tissue and overall it's very uncomfortable feeling. The gore is narrow and tacks perfectly as usual.
The band is nice and snug, not too tight but it doesn't budge when I move and I like that a lot. It only has two hooks https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />.
I wish the straps on this were thicker https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Thin straps + big boobs is a bad combination. There is some serious weight there, please bra companies, take note. It needs to be distributed better. The straps feel like they're long enough but after 5 minutes they start cutting in cause they're getting pulled on.
Overall, I like Lily. A lot. The print is gorgeous. There's only one in 30GG left, I might get it but we shall see. I'll decide today. On a different note, this bra is discontinued, is there a replacement for it? Read more 371 more words
It is a lovely print, sorry it wasn't a great fit. I wonder if the 30GG would have wider straps? 0.6" is quite narrow indeed!
I just don't understand the narrow straps! They're extremely uncomfortable especially when they're so tense because I have to loosen them all the way (and could do with a little more, but this is passable).
I might try the 30GG, we will see. I'm quite ready to give up on Cleo bras.
That is understandable. I wasn't fond of Cleo, though I only tried 2 and one of them was too small so not a lot of experience to go by.... :-/
Skip it and go with a nice Polish brand instead. :-D
Cleo is supposed to be marketed to young women. Maybe young women hate thick straps? That’s all I can think of.
Or Cleo/Panache think younger women are too naive to realize they are less supportive?
Young women only wear spaghetti straps I guess!
Implying I'm old :P
You’re younger than me. 😃
I am older than you brasaremean so to me you would be young. :-D
Sovavosi that could be! All the pretty replacement straps they sell on Amazon are really narrow. Such a bummer as a lot of them are really cute!!
Lol yeah I think so maybe. Tho I think even a 15 year old with 28HH would prefer thicker straps.
For comfort, yes, but if fashion is their focus then sadly no. You see that a lot here in the US....Of course that goes hand in hand with so many thinking they are a 34/36C/D/DD instead of 30/32G/GG/+ so......
I love my Cleo thin straps and I’m 44, but my volume is also slightly smaller than yours. I’m still undecided about the 30FF. It says sold out along with the 28G Red Lucy, but I’m not sure if it’s really sold out or if they forgot to put it back on the site after they had held them for me for a week. I’m not convinced that it will fit and I’m not sure if I want to deal with the return policy and restocking fees or chance it by selling it here. I feel like I would be fine with the 30FF in my aqua Lily but that the swans is a larger fit.
I do really love the shape of the Lily though, so if it’s really still there, I’m still a bit curious.
I think that it looks brilliant on you but I can see how you’d want to try them both.
Definitely feel very 'constricted' in it. But yes so far Lily has the best shape for me of all the Cleo (and Panache tbh) bras.
brasaremean As you told me before, don't wear it if it's like that... yesterday the bottom of my Crazy felt tight and my boobs still feel "off" today. :|
Don't do it!
I won't :(
I never thought about the thin straps before I had bras with wider ones. Once I had wider ones, the narrow ones felt weird to me. If you are able to get the intended support from the band though, I'm sure the straps wouldn't be as much of a concern. My bands on the otherhand often lack that needed support so I do rely more on my straps for lift than I should, even when I have them loosened for comfort.
I actually just used to wear strapless because straps always bothered me. But I was a teeny 28DD back then. I don't think I could get away with strapless now lol.
Strapless? I don't even know what those are anymore......
I wanted so desperately to fit into this bra! I have tried all sizes that might fit me but this bra just isn't for me. It's well made and beautiful but is not going to fit on my body comfortably.
This is the first of my fitting bras, and I do love it to this day even though it in no way fits me anymore.
Excellent quality! And out of all the bras I've tried on, this is the most comfortable one. The gores were bothersome at first, but with wearing over time the fabric softened. Gives the best of support! The bra has a sturdy feel. I kinda like the design, the pink/orange color combo is cute. The bow in the middle is sort of sideways because the cup separation is so small, but I like the frillyness of the edges. The gores are the perfect width, my boobs are squishable and my roots so narrow that the wires have to be sort of rounded and smallish to be properly snug, and the Cleo Lily does this well.
Cleo is aimed at much younger women, hence the tacky patterns and colors. Too bad they are the best fit for so many less-young women (or less in to bright colors and weird pattern women)
Cleo Lily is sadly long discontinued, so if you find another in your size, you may want to snatch it up sooner rather than later. I personally love the "ugly" swan and parrot prints, but I agree that more options would be nice.
dbmamaz Ahh well that makes sense. Yeah, perhaps I can mail Panache and ask them if they can make some new Cleo Lilys but with a different appearance..? Hmm. I'll look into this.
kohakuriver (ohh my gosh your username!!) Will do! Hahah naww, it's nice to hear that someone enjoys them :D It's a cute pattern but far from what I would prefer. Then again, I have a dream of becoming a lingerie model, so my tastes are a bit more lacy and decorative x)
I'm posting this for the hilarity of it. Had I bought this bra (and my upcoming Lily) in 30GG, they probably would have *fit*. If they both came sooner, they also would have fit. Unfortunately I ordered it a while ago and before I had this sudden growth spurt, and then it took a while for it to get here and so this is what I got.
That being said, I don't think the issues I have with this bra would be fixed with a different size.
For me, this bra does not allow for upper fullness. I don't care what anyone says, I don't even *have* a lot of upper fullness ...but look how closed the cups are on top. I'm not sure what kind of breasts I'm supposed to have for a Cleo bra to be honest. The shape I get is just... weird. Looking at this is like looking at Marcie when I tried it (and I so regret not saving those photos because those were tons more funny).
Anyhow. Three part cups with upper part being non-stretch lace. Invisible in the photos, but the different tension in the lace where there is and isn't embroidery cuts in in the shape of hearts, cause very soft tissue. This is the same thing I had with Fantasie Alex. The wires are alright. They're not Curvy Kate wide, but they're not Ewa narrow either. Somewhere in between and I liked the wires. The cups are actually quite deep, and they should technically fit. I genuinely don't understand the bad fit. I guess maybe I'm on my high tide days already? I'm gonna give this bra a whirl past period and update the review. On my smaller side there's some major wrinkling at the wire going on. Actually I felt like my asymmetry was very pronounced in this bra.
The band is tight. Even with my measurements technically being a 30 right now, I'm just not used to bands that tight so this is where my issue was, not that the band was tight for a 30. The band is not suffocating me or making me feel uncomfortable, though. Just feels tight. It stretches out beyond 71cm but I didn't want to enter that in the database as the wires get slightly distorted. I initially thought this is why the bra fits so bad, but after putting an extender nothing changed.
The gore is... very wide. I measured it at close to 3 cm and this is the first bra I had that has a gore that wide. It didn't bother me, the gore tacks, but I felt like there was soooooome wire on breast tissue going on. A gore scoop and swoop fixed it but it's a thing to note. If I were to wear this bra, I would alter the gore.
The straps don't adjust long enough, the story of my life.
To be honest, nothing about this bra seems like it should be made in a cup over E-F. The straps are so thin even if they could adjust long enough they would cut in bad--the weight of breasts would just be too much for it. The double hookset is just not what someone like me needs (or wants). I often underestimate the extra stability from that third hook, but it is quite obvious I need it (as anyone with a fuller bust does). It makes me appreciate Curvy Kate cause for all their faults at least all their bras at my size range (and smaller even) have three hooks and wide straps.
The fun part: the colour is FANTASTIC. I am absolutely in love with it. I got this colourway cause it was the only one available, but I think even if that wasn't the case I would have gone for this one. The heart embroidery on the lace is fun and cute. Maybe some day I would call it juvenile, but I quite like it today, lol.
Overall, Cleo by Panache --> not for me. That's 0/2. I do have Lily still coming in, and we'll make a final verdict. But things aren't looking so good right now.
edit: I know the tone of this review sounds a bit frustrated but I'm really not. Read more 586 more words
That’s always fun, the weird smooshing and cutting into the top slope. Sorry 😐
That's alright! Like I said, I didn't expect it to fit at this point lol :) Still good to know if someone's looking for info that this bra is no good for tall roots even if you are FoB (I know that Kali is meant for FoB shape, but everyone but the FoB-est of FoBs have *some* upper fullness.) Can't see it in the photos but the same cutting in was happening on my smaller side as well.
I think you’re FOB & this is just too small and any larger & the wires would be too wide.
CK’s unlined bras haven’t had wide wires in prob 3 years now. Ever since Bardot came out & they revamped their fits. But they’re also all going to fit even more closed off than the Kali/Lucy.
That is very interesting as both the Ellace and the Dottie I got have had wide wires (15+ cm). Older colourways, maybe (but I doubt as old as three years)? Who knows.
I am FoB (more so FoB to evenish, depending on the cycle, lol), but I also have freakishly tall roots--they go all the way up to my collarbone) that will often make bras meant for FoB cut in (no matter the size). In the beginning of my bra journey I tried all the bras (that came in my size) from the subreddit's list for FoB and almost all of them had that same issue.
It is a gorgeous color, but ugh on that fit. Wide gores are the number one reason I don't wear UK brands any longer. (That and being sized out, but I wasn't when I stopped wearing them. ) I could handle the wider wires if the gores weren't an inch wide!?! After the addition of stretch lace on top of the cups, I too would have a difficult time going back to no stretch. I'm still trying Ewa's SM again though because I want a sexy bra!!
I find the single Ewa SM I have is the bra that fits me best right now for some reason! Lol
Pretty colour, too bad on the fit though :( it does make me curious on how it fits others in general though, because of the close off shape. I guess I'll be browsing through that section on bratabase.
If I were to ever try an SM it would be either the koralik (even though I know the fit issues on that one. I really like coral) or the Yennefer
There isn't much choice with SMs at the moment... hopefully we see some soon.
I am really curious what "the band is quite tight" actually means. I don't want to order a 65JJ because of that and it's 31" long. 😔
There are a couple of 60s and 65s added to Ewa Michalak Sm Wanilia (686) and as I recall it says there the band is quite tight as well in red letters.
Except that large cup bras have longer bands, so maybe they will negate each other?
I wish I knew! I also wish Kaska would just straight out tell us about that. I find Ewa bands to stretch out fast--for all the talk about them being tight they break in very easily.
Frazzleberry I ordered Koralik for a 3rd time in 60L, along with the sheer black SM (as well as SF PinUp in 60L and BM Flamenco in 60KK) on Black Friday. They shipped today, so hopefully we'll see how they fare in a few weeks.
I love the look of the SM style, and I am hoping that the runs tight is to our benefit Sovavosi.
I would love to see some more colorful sheer ones, but that's not in the foreseeable future last I checked. Just imagine a sheer electric blue SM....or neon purple!! :-D
Just bring back Sm Malinowy so I can order it in the correct size :D
MamaPagan awesome! I'll be looking forward to those reviews ;) hopefully the 3rd time is the charm
@brasaremean that would be great. The Malinowy is such a fun colourway
Indeed!
Interesting what you are saying about the fact that this is a fob style but that your roots are tall and the combination is weird with the fit. I’m still curious about the the 28G Lucy or 30FF Kali. I’m full on bottom with taller but shallow roots.
Calluna- I just received a 28G Lucy (and Andorra) so I will post measurements and pics soon. I think we have similar shapes, so it might be helpful.
The Cleo Lily is an old classic and an old favorite, but this bra is a little tired now. It looks cute as ever and I wish I had this in Brand New condition with some matching briefs!
The band sometimes rides up a bit and the gore doesn't tack, and I have some quadboob so I'd say the band is too big and the cups aren't big or deep enough.
The aquamarine/pink colorway is really sweet and definitely a clear sign of that the Cleo line is marketed towards younger women. The classic Cleo bow in the middle is cute and the frills at the top of the cup and the straps are nice little details.
My shape: average/narrow roots, tall roots, projected/very projected, immediate projection, even fullness.
This bra is perfect on me - the cups are deep, with immediate projection, and *just* wide enough. As with my 30DD - Cleo » Blake Balconnet Bra (9151), the ribbon at the top of the cup tacks perfectly against my tall roots with no cutting in.
I get a perfect round, projecting shape in this bra. It's more subtle than the Kayla in terms of its projection (and the wires are a smidge wider too).
The band is too big, but I knew it would be when I ordered it in a 32. It was ...a steal on Amazon, and I'm small busted enough that the reduction in support is no big deal. I wear this on the tightest hooks and it's fine.
The material is soft and comfortable against the skin, but is very supple/giving. I wouldn't recommend sizing down unless you are large-busted, however, because the wires do distort on this 32 band at around 32.5, although the material makes it feel bigger than it is. If you are in my size range and prefer a firm fitting band, perhaps skip this one.
Appearance - this is the cerise colourway, it's a deep, slightly dusky pink with pale pink/beige trim and hardware and a leopard print bow at the gore. I thought the bow was the same pink as the trim, but am so pleased it's not - the leopard is a subtle detail that adds some interest. I adore the look of this bra and will be trying to get my hands on a couple more because, as with the turquoise colourway, it's just perfect on me. Read more 174 more words
The Cleo Blake is a nice and supportive bra with an attractive design. As a Panache bra it lives up to the standard, the quality is excellent as always - no loose seams or threads or anything. The band is somewhat looser than a flunking new Panache band, but it isn't an issue. It's comfortable to wear, but after slouching or sitting down for a while the edge of the band beneath the cups digs into my skin. This doesn't happen with any other bras. The fabric edge is sort of sharp or rough, which I'm sure could be smoothed out with sandpaper but I'm not willing to ...do that to the fabric... I start noticing after a little while that I'm wearing this bra, it's not as comfortable as the Panache Jasmine. So all in all it's a nice bra, not as comfortable as I'd like, but has a cute and simple design. If you've got tub around your stomach I would not recommend this bra for you, as for me it irritated my skin quite a bit where the edge of the band folds with the skin. After investigating the details of it, I can see that this bra has more band underneath the underwires. There's more fabrc that extends vertically downward than in the Panache Jasmine; the band is longer/wider below the cups. This might contribute to the band rolling/folding into my tub(chub, pudge, fat, rolls). The edge of the elastic is what folds and the fabric edge is, as said, sharp. Read more 147 more words
That sounds uncomfortable! Do you have fold over elastic? It might soften the edge.
This is good to know, lunarmonarchy . Thanks for the review.
Love4Pollinators I don't have any fold over elastic, but I can get it easily from Ebay. How's it work? Do I sew it along the band?
learningaboutbras I'm glad you found it helpful! I tried my best to write a professional review to describe the bra's features, and I'm really glad you find this information useful :D
It is usually quite soft and you can sew it along the edge of the band. With such a sharp edge, you may require two layers. Sincerely, I hope you find something that helps.
This is a very pretty bra. Props to MamaPagan for sending it to me to try! I really like the color combination of royal blue with a black dot stretch lace overlay. This bra didn't fit me quite right. A couple of years ago I would have been happy with it, but now that i have been spoiled by polish bras I am awfully picky, haha. The bra is about one cup size too big, so it is a little loose at the top. It also doesn't have quite enough projection for me, and it wrinkles at the bottom. The gore is a bit taller than I like, and eventhough it isn't wide, I am so close set that my breasts try to force the wires closer together. I could try it in a 30hh, but it did not provide as much lift as I like, so I think that this is just a shape mismatch for me. Eventhough it wasn't perfect for me, I'm sure someone else will livd this beauty.
Okay, third of four reviews, here we go! For some reason, a couple weeks ago, I suddenly got a hankering to get my hands on a Bluebell Marcie. It's the SS16 colourway, so already a couple years out of production, but I got really, really lucky and found it on Amazon.ca in a 30E. Currently my Marcie in Burgundy is fitting big in the cups, and it's a 28F, so I was unsure of whether I wanted to try a cup size down or not, but the Bluebell was literally only available in 30E, so that forced my hand, and I'm glad it did! Also, there was literally ...only one left in this size, and I added it to my wishlist when it was around $71 CAD (which is the same price as the other mainstay colourways) and I kept checking on it several times a day, and for some odd reason the price started dropping a couple bucks a day. I finally pulled the trigger when it got down to $54 CAD, which for us Canadians is a steal for new (UK) bras! I wish I could see if the price would've dropped any more, but I didn't want to take the chance of it getting sold out.
In my research of this bra, I tried to see through measurements and reviews on this site whether there was a correlation between certain colours having larger or smaller cup depths than other colours, but unfortunately there weren't very many Bluebells added in the first place, so I had to just take a chance. (Side note: I try to always include the name of the colourway when I'm adding my bras; do you? It pops up under the user's name in the measurements table for one particular size, when you want to see all of the measurements added for that particular bra. Side side note: In a perfect world I would love to be able to filter data by colourway for bras like Marcie which have many different colourways. Have I said colourway enough? Anyway, back to the review.)
Oh my, the appearance! I'm sure you all know why I got a hankering for this one. The beautiful pastel periwinkle colour plus the neon orange trimmings = perfection. It gives a nice round, projected appearance as always. It fits snugly (for now) on the tightest hook, and when the time comes I'm going to take a chance and take in the band to extend the life of it. (Second side note: I have a pile of bras which I need to take in the bands of, and I've read countless tutorials on how to do it with almost as many different methods, but I'm still too scared to actually do it.) This one does run just a hair smaller in the cups than my burgundy, which is perfect for me right now, and I'm sure it will accommodate me when I'm slightly bigger boobed as well.
Overall, I'm again very happy with this purchase. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 401 more words
I loved the cuteness and wanted this to work for me for a lounge bra, but like most lounge bras that are plunge it duh badly into my center fullness no matter the size :(
