I'm a projected, slightly full on top 28E/F. This bra is PERFECT for me. I love the color (I currently have aquamarine) and the fit is so great that I will probably be buying one in every colorway I can find.
I would not recommend this bra for shallow breasts or full on bottom. As it is an unpadded Cleo, I will say that it is consistent with others in that the band runs a little tight (which is fine for me since my underbust measures 26") so if you're in between bands then definitely size up.
Very nice bra which gives round shape under clothes. Straps are not fully adjustable which might be a problem for some. Wires and the fabric at the upper end of the center gore are both very scratchy and leave a nasty looking marks to my skin. I'm hoping the fabric will soften after few washes.
This is the Cleo Lucy bra in yellow! It's one of my two favorite bras as far as fit goes, and it looks pretty nice too (even though I'm not much of a yellow person).
I have average to slightly broad shoulders and the straps feel a little too wide/far apart at times, but it's not a big deal.
I have pretty much equal fullness on top and bottom (maybe a tiny bit more in the bottom) but I'm fuller on the inside of my breasts than the outside -- the top line of the cup is smooth on me in general -- a tad too tight with ...my chest out, shoulders back; a tad too loose when I'm slouched forward.
All my tissue fits within the actual cup well. The wings are high enough to feel secure and supportive without being bothersome to my armpits and without showing under tank-tops and the like.
The fabric is kind of rough but it gets better with a few washes and you get used to it. After a full day of wearing it you may see the embroidered details lightly imprinted into your skin.
My rib cage measures 70cm -- this band is nice and firm! It was a little too tight when I first started wearing it but it was perfectly tolerable and, after the first couple weeks, not noticeable. Now, three months into wearing this thing fairly regularly, I'm still using the (first?) hook setting that makes the band the longest -- this bra will last! It also doesn't stretch very much throughout the day. It will leave me with a red under wire mark at the end of the day but it's very worth the extraordinary amount of support -- it's a very good band!
My breasts are positioned fairly low on my chest and the straps are plenty long; I could even make them longer!
What else to say?
The embroidery on the fabric will show through a thin/tight shirt.
I love this bra because it gives me exceptional support aaaaalllllll day long and it's cute!
Be warned though, I have 2 other Cleo Lucy bras in different colors and they are not all they same! I also love the Cleo Lucy in 'raspberry' but I also have it in pink and did not like it -- I ended up altering (narrowing) the center gore and and it's alright now, but I still consider it my 'frumpy' bra. This bra! SO GREAT! Lift the girls and puts 'em together, which is just what I need! Definitely one or two cup sizes too big, but I think I need to find the right cup size so I can see how this fits then! Can you tell I like this bra? I just realized I've been writing exclamation marks like crazy! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" /> Love this bra. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Oh, and I've got two of these.
A good, lightly padded, everyday bra. This bra gives a lovely rounded shape, and the lace on the cups/seams don't show through my shirts. In the 28F the centre gore is quite narrow (wires touch at the top) so great for my close set boobs. Band is very stretchy but feels tight first wear. May stretch out with further wear and washing.
Beautiful bra! Tag says it's 6631, but it's definitely blue with pink/purple/blue polka dots (like the Cleo Olivia). I actually LOVE the colors! (I have the blue one with polka dots.) Almost fits my larger breast, but not quite. When I look at my smaller breast, it's clear it's not the right fit. Gives a great shape. Not a t-shirt bra. Gore is slightly painful, but I'm not used to a tall gore, so that may be why. A little tight on the loosest hook, but I don't mind. I am tempted to try this on in a 28E, except that it's not a t-shirt bra.
I've just received my first Lucy today. It's the the new AW 2013 White/Neon Orange color. Only there isn't any white to be seen! It's a very pale peachy color. Not a problem for me (it's pretty!) but I do wonder why they called it "white".
The neon is really bright. You won't be able to wear this bra under a white shirt. It's a cute print though (probably too cute for my age but I just couldn't resist). Very fresh and summer-like. Why is this part the Autumn/Winter collection?
I'd heard so many great things about the fit of the Lucy and the nicely rounded shape it gave. ...I can safely say that it deserves all the praises it got.
The band is nice and firm. I'm wearing it on the first hook and it feels very comfortable. It feels great to be able to start a bra on the first hook: plenty of room left to tighten it when it starts to stretch.
The straps are well-positioned for my narrowish shoulders. They stay in place and never threaten to fall.
The gore lies nice and flat against my sternum and the cups are perfectly filled. The gore itself is narrow but the bra still works for my separate breasts. The fabric of the cups seems pretty light and flimsy when you see it but once the bra is on, it gives great support when you're standing, sitting or just walking. However, there was a bit of bounce going on when I tried running and jumping a bit. No biggie. I wasn't asking the Lucy to support my boobs the way the incredible Panache Sport bra does.
The top of the cup is very soft and there would be room for breasts that are a bit more top heavy than mine without causing too much of a quadboob effect. When looking at a side shot of my largest breast, there does seem to be a bit of quadboobing going on but the cup isn't too small, it's because my breast tissue is very (too!) soft. It's unoticeable under clothing.
The wires are of a perfect width for me but maybe slightly too tall on the outside. They make the bra come a bit too high under my arms toward the front but it's not really uncomfortable.
Verdict: My favorite shape is the very rounded and uplifted one (Marie-Antoine or 2 cakes on a plate) padded half-cups give me. So the vast majority of my bras are padded half-cups. However, it's really nice to have a couple of unpadded balcony bras to simply stay at home or when I'm wearing a tight blouse that requires "non enhanced" breasts to prevent it from gaping at the bust.
So the Lucy is perfect for me. I can have my unpadded balcony without sacrificing the rounded, uplifted look. It's my first unpadded balcony in the right size and I'll need a second one to replace my too-big-in-the-band Cleo Zia which I have to wear with a Rixie clip.
The only downside for me is the fabric. I'm not a fan of mesh in general (I find it a bit cheap looking, too stretchy and not as confortable as silkier, softer fabrics) and the Lucy is 100% mesh except for the straps. It's not really a problem but I think it will prevent me from buying it in another color to replace the Zia. I'll choose an unpadded bra in another fabric. Tough I wouldn't say no to a yellow Lucy if I can ever find one in 28F. I've been lusting after that particular color but, alas, it's from an older collection and there doesn't seem to be any left in that size. Read more 504 more words
I heard and read a lot of eulogistic reviews of Cleo Marcie. And as I'm quite compatible with other Cleo balconettes, I decided to try this style in a beautiful colourway, aquamarine. Some of my Cleo bras are a little loose in the band, so I went down to a 28F.
Marcie is made of a very soft material, much more softer than Meg, Bella or Melissa which is not necessarily beneficial for the support. The colour is a very intense turquoise-blue.
The band is really tight and some days I just can't wear it without an extender. If I'll ever try an another Marcie, it'll be definitely with a ...bigger band.
I have a doubt about the cup fit. It seems OK in the center, but something strange is happening under my armpits and in the middle of the cups. I have some extra material between the strap and the underwire (under the armpit) and if I shorten the straps it disappears but the cups wrinkle especially on the smaller side. I also find the underwires extremely wide particularly in the upper part which is “falling down”. They leave their marks about 1 cm behind the breast tissue. My other issue is the in-cup quadraboob effect and I'm not sure if it means that the cup is too big or too small. I tried to make it disappear with an extender or by loosening the straps, but it didn't change a lot. I suppose it's due to the fact that the in-cup cut is lying just over a very soft skin around the nipples. The last complaint is a hurtful center gore, my frequent problem. I think that it's due to the tight band and maybe because the cups are a little too big (wrinkling on the sides).
The shape Marcie gives is rather rounded and it keeps my boobs near the ribcage. The support is satisfactory.
In conclusion, I'm not fully satisfied with this bra. I'm maybe not compatible with this style. If I'll ever try to “tame” Marcie again, it'll be in 30DD. Read more 232 more words
I think this bra runs small in the cups so I´d recommend you size up in the cups! 28F was too small for me, quadboobing. Wires also feel too narrow. Other than that it is a nice bra. I love the strawberry colour. The band runs true to size, a nice and snug 28. Straps only partly adjustable.
I got this in also 30F (no 28FF available) and it fits very well https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> The only downside is that I have to alter the band down.
Some people have complained that the wires stab them but I don´t have that problem.
This is another really pretty Cleo bra. The purple is fantastic and it is dark enought that it doesn't stand out that much against my skin so I can wear it under light tops. It fits better than my other bras other than my Marcie and the only complaint I really have is that as I move around the gore torques and one wire will lift off of my sternum. I am guessing it is because there is no band at the bottom.
Get as many as possible of these type of Cleos... it fits great, the band hugs my body and it's very comfy, plus looks great under clothes...
...as long as the clothes are nothing near sheer or white because massive white and yellow dots on black tend to be rather obvious underneath clothes which you didn't think of as see through before this. Guess the idea was rather funky and original though.
I have a shallow, wide root, and 28F fits me better than the same size in Cleo Lucy, which was too closed on top. However, I still get a "George fold" at the top of the Marcie, suggesting it's still a bit too closed/too much projection for me.
The first day, the gore was so painful that not only did I have red marks still visible the next day, but also the flesh under the skin of my sternum was really tender and sore for almost 2 days. I bent the wires away at the gore, which helped a lot. I'm also wearing it with an extender for ...now.
This bra is not the ideal shape for me, but it's really cute and I got it for 20% off, so I decided to keep it so I'd have one bra in the right size, until I found something better.
EDIT: I found something better for my wide, shallow shape - the Masquerade Alice (30+ bands only) and the Betsey Johnson Eyelet Lace demi (also 30+ only), so I gave away my Lucy to a friend with a narrower root and more projection. Read more 83 more words
After trying the Meg in 28E, I had such high hopes for the 28F. The 28E cut into the top of my boobs and prominently displayed my armpit fat. Since I love the bird print of this bra, I was hoping the 28F would be perfect. The wires are wide enough for me, but there are a whole host of other issues.
The 28F still manages to cut into the tops of my boobs. As an added bonus, my smaller boob can't fill out the top of the cup, causing some wrinkling. Perhaps if the bra were made of softer material, it could be ok. But, the fabric is pretty stiff (not uncomfortably), so it's not as forgiving.
This is my all-time favorite bra so far. It fits perfectly. There is no quad-boob, no gap, no wrinkling, and minimal armpit flab. I actually wouldn't mind if the wings were a bit taller, but they do a fair job of holding my armpit flab in. Initially, I was wary of the wires coming up higher at the gore than the 28E, but after some wire-bending, I don't feel a thing. The Juna is a wonderful basic bra.
I love the look of this bra. It's gorgeous, I can fit out the bottom and the top, and it doesn't cut into the tops of my boobs.
Unfortunately, it's not perfect. I don't love the shape it gives me. From the front view, it contains the sides of my boobs most effectively on the bottom and less at the top. This makes me look like my boobs are very wide at the top and small on the bottom, with no curve at all. While the material is soft and generally comfortable against my skin, it is very uncomfortable on a hot, sweaty day. The gore comes up higher than I would like, causing the wires to dig into my sternum. The straps are a little too far apart. After extended wear, I noticed that the cups are digging into my armpits. When I take the bra off at the end of the day, it leaves red marks.
