Really like this bra. The gore is a little wide for me, but not terrible, and the cups come up a bit higher than I would expect for a halfcup. The top of the cup runs into the front of my armpit a bit on my smaller side, but I have this problem in most bras. But the cups have decent projection, the padding is similar to a moulded bra, the floral pattern is pretty...it’s a great everyday bra.
This was my first bra that wasn’t terrible. The print is cute (I have the blue multi, which is kind of a muted mixed up plaid), the stretch lace is soft. Gore is pretty narrow and it has enough projection by the gore for my center fullness. Straps are lightly padded in this size, which is comfy but makes it hard to tighten the straps past the padded part. It gives a very natural shape. But for my soft tissue, it gives a lot of in cup quad when the straps are tightened at all. And although the bottom of the cup fits well, I don’t fill out the lace at all. Definitely more for full on top shapes.
Wow, this bra is perfect for my wide root breasts, and even fits my larger side without gaping on my smaller side. It was very comfortable for me right from the start, no breaking in needed. It also gives a great shape without feeling like I am wearing a stiff, thick bra. I will definitely be buying more of these bras!
Update: Turns out this bra is so close to perfect fit for me, but not quite. I do have cutting in on one side, but it is mostly hidden by the lace detail, I wish this bra came in 28HH. I may end up trying a 30H to try for a perfect fit because I love this bra so much!
Me: Narrow roots, narrow shoulders, evenly round, lots of immediate projection, slightly FoB, slightly centre full, never met a gore I didn't like, left-heavey by more than a cup size, 31" underbust, but prefer tight band with extender. Panache, Freya size 30GG
I now understand why people rave over this bra. The shape is unique and very pleasing. It is a bit too open at the top of the cup to fit my even shape perfectly, but I do like it.
The wires are a touch wide, the gore is particularly wide, but doesn't bother me, and as with the Lucy, I have sister sized ...down to get the firmness of the band that I like.
I have the colour labeled "burgundy" but it really is more purple than red. I like it a lot. It does not show in all the pictures as well, but it really is quite dynamic and attractive. Plus, no neon anywhere! (I may remove the bow on the gore)
The shape is achieved by the angles of the seams. The bottom of the cup diagonal starts fairly low - at least half way down the gore - and the strap attachment and upper end of the diagonal is further into the center than most balconettes. The straps are a full two cm inside my Ewa Michalak BM. My Curvy Kate Bardot imitates this strap placement, but the Marcie vertical seam is two cm inside the Bardot and the diagonal on the Marcie is three cms further inside the Bardot so the rounding effect in the Marcie climbs inward along the wire and thus gives a flatter apex/nipple area and a rounder inner cup. I will try and draw what I mean.
The immediate projection is adequate and the strap set width, as already discussed it narrower.
I'd love some side boning and/or three hooks, but oh well.
The straps are not only scalloped on the outside edges, but ribbed so it is almost impossible to adjust the straps under tension, which means they will not be moving anywhere.
Very snug at first, but I prefer that. The band is stretchy, and the 30 was too loose, so I sized down to 28. The lace on the top doesn't quite lay flat, but that seems to be normal for this model, and it doesn't show under clothes. I have a tiny bit of extra room at the bottom. This is the closest I've found to a "t-shirt" bra that fits me. The seam shows a bit under thin tops, but I've just come to accept seams as a fact of life. My favorite bra, once I got the sizing right.
I tried this bra in my normal Cleo size of 28GG and this 28H to see if a larger cup might work better for my center fullness. This cup was too big on me and this larger size did not improve the tacking issue I have with my touching center full breasts.
MISLABELED: IS A 28H ON THE TAG. Just got it so have yet to wear all day. Have a little space at the top of the cup but I think will lay smooth with shirts, aside from the damn lace which isn't elasticized (poor design decision). I have a little space on the outer wire that maybe isn't breast tissue but is debatable. Center gore is way too high and for the first time I understand what digging into your sternum feels like. Straps don't adjust short enough. I like that the seams seem benign and it may function as a t-shirt bra. UPDATE: It is actually the most comfortable bra I own, something must have shifted. Outer wire is a tiny bit wide but no chafing. Also, the center gore warmed up or something and no more digging there. Worn 3 times so far.
This was the first bra I bought that actually fit, and that was amazing. When I bought it, I was breastfeeding an infant and full of milk, plus still had an expanded ribcage from pregnancy. So at that point, the bra fit great! Now days I'm still nursing, but the baby is older and as a result I'm less full of milk. My ribcage is no longer expanded, so now the band is a little large on me, and my cups are very empty. The sides of the cups come up pretty high on me, which isn't uncomfortable, but does result in the bra peeking out considerably from ...the arm holes of any tank top. Hopefully I can find a bra that doesn't do that. The straps are sort of wide for me, but I have a petite build and narrow shoulders, so I don't think a more averagely built person would have that problem. Besides my body changing shapes, this bra was good to me and is still going strong with almost daily use for around two years (I know that's taboo, but it was my best fitting bra). I know it'll be good to me again during the next pregnancy and postpartum period! Read more 97 more words
I had 2 of these bras in 28H. One in white and one in the peach/neon orange color way. The white bra has slightly smaller/tighter cups. There is very slight quad-boobing at the horizontal seam in both bras, but I believe this is due to my soft tissue rather than bra construction. Overall very happy with these bras.
Edit: Recently underwent breast augmentation after weight loss. The orange/peach color way is now a perfect fit with its slightly larger cups. No more wrinkling at the seam. The white, however, would be too small.
This bra is soft and true to size. However, like all Cleo bras, the wires are very wide. The straps are also very wide-set, and chafe on my armpits. This bra also made my boobs a weird square shape.
I had the Maddie Orange animal print in 28GG and it was too small in the cups, so I thought the cobalt blue in 28H would be a good fit. Unfortunately this one doesn't work either, as the center gore comes up too high and it digs into the sternum -quite painfully.
The bra itself is really nice though, beautiful blue, with a cute orange/pink ribbon at the gore. The 'stripey' design on the fabric also adds a nice look to it.
The band is nice and firm, although it could be a little tighter (this is probably more because I lost some weight though). The underwire is perfect for my shape, going ...far enough on the sides. Again, with the center gore coming up so high, I pointed out a few issues for my shape : the wires are digging into the sternum, and the top of the cups are cutting into the breast tissue (not sure exactly how).
I'll try to add some more details soon...

I'm not sure if I should keep it or not : The cups on this size are absolutely perfect. I love the shape under clothes and the fact that the straps are not too wide which makes it perfect for strappy tops, the underwires -for once- are not poking my under arms, but the wires at the centre are just so painful, I can't wear the bra more than 2 minutes! I thought about shortening the underwires but not sure it will be comfortable once it's done. I might just try to sell it and find a bra that actually works for me...
I can't comment on the long-term wear of this bra, but it seems to fit me very well. There's a very slight gap in the lace at the top of the cup, but it's easily ignorable. It fits well around, which I wasn't expecting because my 30GG Neve was tight around. It looks nice too, with a up-and-out support type. For my fob, hard to find comfortable bras boobs, I think this bra might just work!
SIZE This bra size is true to size. The cups are deep and projected. The band is snug.
SHAPE The shape of the bra is beautiful!!
I have full on top breasts and this is the first bra I have found that has enough room for my upper fullness and doesn't give me an "upside-down-7" shape. The wires are to wide for my narrow roots but not uncomfortable.
This bra is also very beautiful and soft https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I bought this bra from a user on Reddit. I've had problems with the gore on Cleo's being too wide for me in the past. This bra has had the gore taken in to make the gore more close set. The alteration looks good. It is perfect for me with the alteration, however, it also made the band too tight for me to wear. I like the shape that this bra gives me, I just wish the band wasn't too tight. It fits more like a 26 band.
Perfect fit with extender. I agree that this bra runs large in cup (I usually need 30H in Cleo). Most narrow and projected english bra I ever had. Good for short roots.
When I owned this bra, it actually fit a bit better than Lily in the same size. I believe I was verging on quadding on the 28H Lily but this was a bit more open on top so it was more forgiving. It was also used, which might have played a part. It definitely made it more comfortable, though.
Pros: -Beautiful color and detailing -The shape is good and works decently well with my boobs Cons: -Super wide wires and wide gore (this may be a pro for some) -Straps are really wide -Not enough space at the bottom of the cup so my boobs push the cups down -It's unbanded so the band seems to dig in worse -The wires are tall and poke me in my underarms
For me 28 band is essential. I can't even think other band size for my alternations. Unless I do alter X) tho thats not my prefer I hardly do. Anyway this bra its like I met bright sun shine for a long time. When I was young it was easy to get nude bra in my size but not? Its hard it was my first nude bra over 4 years. I love it everything about this bra except but band says its 28. Well. I guess the designers designed using +4inch thing. It works and I can fasten. It snug. But not hold that well after 5 mins it will band like rainbow did. Then I have to adjust again. So for me if they had 24 band I would take 24j. Or 26hh perhaps.
*edit : I think this bra is okay up to 28J. because my juna bra cup is measured 13.5inches (when I measure the deapt)
pretty uncomfortable but pretty...the band digs in after a few hours- its quite stiff, and the wire at the gore pokes in like no ones business. I might just follow the same tactic like some other Marcie owners and tack the gore a bit further down so that the wire doesn't stab me in the chest each time. I also think it runs slightly large in the cup. I usually wear a 28H but i could have done with a 28GG in this bra I think. I have quite narrow rooted full on bottom breasts and this bra seems to want slightly fuller on top breasts...
My favourite thing about this bra is the colour. It looks different depending on the lighting, but in daylight, it's a deep warmish yellow. The wires are stiffer than I'd like which does force the gore to tack, but it's a bit uncomfortable. I pushed the wires down about half an inch and stitched the wire channel ends so the wire can't slide back up. It's the same alteration I performed on my 28H - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) in pink. It does help reduce the chafing and rubbing.
After owning the pink version for several months and now the yellow version, I'm beginning to move on from my honeymoon phase with this bra due to the stiffness of the straps. They are not as soft and adequately accommodating as other soft cup bras I've owned such as the Curvy Kate Angel or Lottie. While I still love many things about my Marcies, these straps give me shoulder aches.
