This bra is great for my not full upper boobs and doesn't leave empty space. Nice lace. Maybe a little uncomfortable on the under arms due to lace texture. Goes far up on the sides so would be good to keep from spilling over if you have that issue.
The Hettie feels nice and light; the cups have a soft, thin, and smooth lining and this same fabric comprises the band material. The cups and wings are covered with a fine mesh-like material with tiny holes in it. The lace at the tops of the cups seems flimsy and a little cheap to me - I'd need to be careful adjusting it to avoid putting my finger through it. Straps are ribbed and stretchy. I think they would be better if they were a little wider, say 3/4 inch instead of 1/2 inch, but I like wider straps in general. I have to adjust them almost to ...their full length and they feel too tight.
The bra has quite good center projection and fairly good immediate projection at the wire, although for me the wire is still about 1/8 inch under my IMF. I don't think this would be a deal-breaker if the cups fit well otherwise, but it might get a little uncomfortable after several hours of wear. I can't fill out the cups at the top or at the center, so they are clearly too large. However, the wire fits well on the sides and encloses my breast tissue comfortably; it feels very secure but doesn't poke into my armpit, so I think the wire length is probably right.
I like the shape that the Hettie gives me, but some may feel that it's too pointy. With the flimsy lace at the tops of the cups, I think there will be some jiggle. As for the gore, I have very close-set breasts so just about any gore bothers me. It's not actually sitting on breast tissue, but poking into it slightly. If this bra was available as a plunge, the shorter gore would be preferable.
As for the color, I'm not a fan of white bras unless they are very lacy and decorative, and the Hettie in the white colorway is rather plain.-looking But this was the only color available in my size at herroom and I wanted to try it for size. The 32E I tried in purple was too small in the cups, and this 32FF is too big...so hopefully the 32F that I'm trying next will be the charm! Read more 266 more words
The upper lace on this bra is too open for my shape. It wrinkles even when the cups are too small and swoop and scoop makes them quadboob briefly before they fall away.
I'm still looking for a bra that actually fits. Mimi worked better for me than any of Cleo's molded bras. It's a cute bra. The straps work when fully extended, but I know I'm unusually short in that area. I got quad boob on larger boob and an okay fit on smaller. I had a ton of side tissue I couldn't scoop in with creating extreme quadboob. I don't know what's migrated tissue from wearing bras that are too small for the last 20 years or if my roots are very wide or some combination of both. The band was fine on the loosest setting, but the overspill was bad under my arms and almost to my back. I'm exchanging it for a 32G to see if the larger cup works.
I'm fob and inner full. I didn't seem to have bad orange in a glass with this one. The apex of the cup was filled unlike all the molded Cleos I've tried.
Cute print, I am glad you were able to exchange for a larger cup size. It is a trial and error process to find the correct size and the styles that fit us well, but it is worth it when you get a nicely fitting bra :)
This was in my first batch of bras ordered online trying to find what fits and what styles I can wear. hint: this is not one of them! I went to Nordstrom first but they had very few 32FFs in stock. The only one that came close to fitting was a Freya Fancies Plunge in 32FF. I don't like lace bras. (As I add bras I will add that Freya with photos.) So I turned to HerRoom and ordered the KoKo Spirit Plunge bra in 32FF, 34F, and then later in 32G, and 32H when fit checks on r/ABtF said to try a bigger cups. Like the Cleo ...Lexi this bra did not work for me.
The reason this one doesn't fit is a shape/style issue, but I am new to this and mildly confused at all times. I'm very full on bottom, center full, some separation, projected, with pendulous, soft, round boobs. I think my root width is average, but I have a lot of migrated side tissue. My roots are short. I think the takeaway is that molded bras will be unlikely to fit me.
The 32FF band was fine. The cups didn't fit in a number of ways. When I swooped and scooped even halfheartedly the 32FF the gore wouldn't tack and was sitting on my left breast. If I wiggled/tucked the tissue back so the gore tacked, it gaped at the top. Pretty sure I had orange in a glass issues with 32FF and 34F. the 32G and #32H were way too big in the cups. This bra is so cute and I was sad to send it back. I learned that I should take photos of the actual tags in the bras and will do that from now on. Read more 186 more words
I'm still trying to find the perfect bra. I used to wear Natori Feathers but then I figured out they I too shallow. This looked similar so thought I'd try it. It's also too shallow and the wires are slightly too wide. Other than that it seems to fit well, high gores bother me and I think I'm center fill so the plunge and gore are nice. Goes up kinda high for my preference next to my arms, but I think a cup size down I would quad in. Other than the feeling that it seems to be sliding down in the front, it's nice, but that feeling that's it being pushed down is distracting.
I am wide rooted with tall thin tissue. Need immediate projection at the wire. Splayed roots with close set breasts at the top. Full on the outside and even verticalfullness. Very soft breast tissue.
Man I wanted this to work. This bra had a great narrow gore. And it gave me a nice rounded, lifted shape.
However I get quadboob at the top. With soft tissue it looks more like my breasts are trying to spill over the edge of the bra. Not a good look.
I kept having to readjust the bra to contain the sides of my breast. Not sure if the wires ...just weren't wide enough or the band was too loose. Or maybe soft tissue just needs higher wings/ side support.
I also have an issue with the lip of the bra. It's super obvious under shirts. I wish they had thinned out the material so it blended with the shape of your breast more.
I tried a cup size up but it had strap gap and still couldn't contain the sides of my breasts. I'm going to try a band size down and a cup size or two up and see what happens Read more 91 more words
I have wide roots, thin tall roots and need immediate projection at the wire. I am full on the outside, and have even vertical fullness. I have splayed roots that start about 1 finger apart. However what seems to affect my fit the most is the fact that I have very soft breast tissue. Like seriously squishy... thanks kids!
So for the other squishy boobs out there here's what I ran into:
1. In cup quadboob. That stiff bottom fabric and stretch lace combo is probably great for fitting a variety of breasts. However my breasts see the stretch lace's slight give as an opportunity to break free. ...I actually didn't even notice it until I put a shirt on. But wow is it noticeable under clothes.
2. Gaping lace at the top. *sigh* Gaping at the top seems to be a trend for me. Particularly around the bra strap. I have even breasts when I do the 90 degree test. (The hand bra test is hilarious with soft boobs. What's your shape when supported by your hands? I don't know. What shape would you like me to make?) I have tall thin roots. My soft tissue pools at the bottom of my bra cup so it's almost like having short roots but I still can't wear closed in top styles because it cuts into that thin tissue up top pretty noticeably.
3. Gore is too wide/high. This one is less about the squish and more because my splayed roots start close together. Not a ton of tissue up there but enough to make this gore uncomfortable. Read more 158 more words
The Cleo Marcie in 32FF matches my breast shape nearly perfectly. However, I'm not keeping it. Why not? The straps and the fabric.
What's wrong with the straps? The straps are not atypical of other Panache/Cleo bras. They are often set a bit too wide for me, so I have to pull them in a bit. That is usually fine, but in this case they are also just barely long enough. I rarely have strap length issues, so that was surprising. I also don't like the material they made the straps out of.
What's wrong with the fabric? Honestly, I'm not sure why I find it irritating. I think ...it is mostly the trim on the straps and band that bother me. They feel stiff and unforgiving. The cups and band are made of 82% polyamide, 14% polyester, and 4% elastane. It feels oddly rough to me. (Can you tell I'm not knowledgable about fabrics? Yeah, I don't know - I just don't love it.) A lot of people also complain about the dots on the cups showing through their shirts, but I'm sure that depends on the shirt material.
Could this work for me? Yeah, the shape is great and I would probably get used to the fabric. It just wasn't worth it for me right now because I have enough options that are more comfortable.
If the Cleo Marcie does fit you well and you are looking for other options, try the Cleo Skye and the Cleo Maddie. Read more 139 more words
Purchasing: * $23.19 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (not Amazon Wardrobe) * not available in neutral colors (only bright, bold colors)
Band: * One layer of stretch mesh outside boning (between boning and clasps). * Band between cup/wire and wing boning constructed of non-stretch lace lined with non-stretch mesh. * Elastic at top of band. * Wing support: boning. * Continuous band - band straight under wires (a short longline, will not provide waist shaping) * Back close with 3 columns of hooks. * Extra boning beneath each apex to prevent rolling/bunching.
Straps: * smooth elastic * soft (don't stand up on their own) * full adjust * straight back (not leotard)
Cups: * 3-seam (4-piece) half-cup (top ...edge is diagonal, not horizontal, so I can't call this a balconette) * unpadded, stiff underwire * Upper panel is mesh with only vertical stretch (no horizontal stretch) and lined with non-stretch mesh. * Lower panels are non-stretch lace lined with non-stretch mesh. * Soft cups (no padding or molding).
Fit
About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts * average projection * wide-set (3 fingers width of space between breasts) * very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line) * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full) * short root height, average vertical placement * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away) * conical shape (but will squish to round) * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame * front (anterior) rib flares
Band: * length: fits * wings: barely high enough * no axillary skin spillage * Smooths my rib flares nicely.
Gore: Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine.
Cups: * Cups far too big. Fabric only covers breasts (with gapping) and provides no shaping. * Wires wide enough (SO RARE). * Bottom of cup filled (enough immediate projection at the wire). * Upper, outer edge of cup cuts into tail of Spence.
Straps: * not too far apart * adjust short enough
Comfort & Fit Summary * I tried this bra because it looked pretty in pictures. The mini-longline band is very flattering (accents my narrow ribcage). * I chose this size based off a measurements search (cup depth & wire width) here on bratabase. The cups were wide enough, but far too big, so this style may be too projected for me. * Think about trying a 32E or 32F. According to measurements table, as cup size drops in this range, cup depth decreases but cup width stays the same. Read more 303 more words
Getting in-cup quadding at the seams and the gore doesn't quite tack. Seems to have a square-ish shape on me. The gore is very narrow, with overlapping wires.
This would be good for someone who has short, close set breasts, but alas, I think you need firmer breast tissue for this one.
Me: short & narrow roots, center full, close set, pendulous, petite, short waisted, low set, fairly even fullness, narrow shoulders, soft
This bra was recommended to me because I like the Cleo Maddie (which I have in a 34F, but haven't tried in a 32FF). With a 33" snug underbust, I sometimes fit a 32FF and sometimes a 34F. I tried the Juna in both sizes.
The 34F had a few small fit issues which I described in its review. The 32FF definitely fits worse for me. The band is ok, maybe a little on the tight side of snug, but not uncomfortable. The gore tacks if I swoop and scoop. However, the cups themselves are definitely too small. IMy breasts can't sit down in them, so I get a ...lot of quadding (should be visible in pictures). This doesn't seem to be an issue of projection at the wire (which is a common problem for me), but rather just the whole cup is too small. As with the 34F, there is an o-ring on the strap between the soft, padded section of strap and the adjustable portion of the strap. Unfortunately, this bra fits me in a way that puts that o-ring at a weird spot on my shoulder that wouldn't be comfortable for all-day wear even if the rest of the bra fit.
Ultimately, this is another miss for me. Read more 101 more words
This was my first attempt at a longline bra. I got it in acid coral which is basically neon orange. I liked the material, but the fit wasn't right for me. The band is on the tight side of snug. I have mixed feelings about the longline aspect - it isn't bad, but the side boning digs into my ribs. The gore is good for me, but the cups are a little small and give me some quad-boob. I think the cups are too deep and narrow for me. The underwire digs into my armpit - I'm not sure if that is because of the height or the width.
First of all, it's a beautiful bra. I love the pink mesh with the blue contrast. The band is a bit loose, but t's okay when I hook it on the tightest hook. The cups fit and fill fine, I fill them, although there's a bit of wrinkling near the top of the cup after I scoop and swoop. I marked the wires as being too short on the sides, it's not like my tissue escapes, but I feel like they are short for some reason. Maybe I'm more used to taller wires on the side, I don't know. It feels comfortable as an everyday bra anyway. The gore is pretty high, and it tacks, but it's really comfortable, the wires are not as hard as in most bras I've tried. I really like this bra, and I might try it at some point in a band size down.
The pink Lily fits pretty much the same as my other 32FF Lily in the parrot print, which is to say it doesn't. This one seems to be older than the parrot one, though, and the age definitely shows in the fabric and band stretchiness.
I think Lily will always be a shape mismatch for me. In theory it should work - it used to be widely considered the diagnostic bra to try for narrow, projected, and even shapes - but it just doesn't. I've tried several different sizes over several sets of body measurements, but all of them are pretty much the same on me - in-cup quad with an empty top section. I could size down a cup to fill the top section, but then the quad would look even worse. Then there are the strange wrinkles on the sides of the cups... really not sure what causes those.
It's really a shame because the parrot print version is super cute, and sturdy, too. This bra was apparently quite used when I bought it, but you can hardly tell.
It's a sexy bra and well made. I bought it when I was measuring as a 32f, hearing that the cups run small (that statement was true in my case). However, the fit just didn't seem to work for me because of the lace looking loose and the straps felt too wide. Now that I'm measuring as a 32g, I still wear it and really like the appearance. I get some quadding but the lace is no longer a problem and the strap width feels better. I think this is a bra where you have to play around with the sizing to get the fit that you prefer. The gore does seem a little tall to me. But the cups are nicely projected for FoB.
Cute print, I am glad you were able to exchange for a larger cup size. It is a trial and error process to find the correct size and the styles that fit us well, but it is worth it when you get a nicely fitting bra :)
