Very pretty pink and gray, stretchy band. The straps are wide set enough to be irritating but that might be because I sister sized up to try this out.
The cup depth is similar to my 55HH (reduced cups) Rozalia. A little too small for my larger side, but I'll take it for less wrinkling on the other. Curious to see how this compares to an unaltered padded 55HH 3HC. Would like to try a 55HH, maybe with straps moved in, in this or a similar non-padded style.
The apex projection is great and the print is super cute. The cups are too tall though. I would try this is a 55HH with reduced cups, maybe with straps moved in, and hopefully those alterations won't affect the depth too much.
I've heard that the plunges are narrower than the half cups, but the cup width of this is the same as the 60H Onyks. So maybe they're similar in my size range or I'm measuring wrong. Since the wires are soft, it doesn't bother me that they're a smidge wider than I need.
So, I'm really not sure if I'm listing this in the proper size because I purchased through Breakout Bras. It says 28G on the sewn-in tag. Please let me know if I'm wrong and I'll change it! This bikini top is oddly true to size in the cups and and I think the band as well (my underbust is around 28-29"). I purchased a 3HC Basic Half Cup bra, also in a 28G according to BB, and it is 1-2 sizes too small. This bikini, on the other hand, fits me as expected.
Thank you so much for your review. It would also be great if you could add all the measurements for the bra. This is exactly the size I was thinking of getting
I ordered from Breakout Bras so the sewn-in size tag says 28G. I think this is a 60H in Comexim's sizing based on the cup depth measurements, but if I'm wrong please let me know and I will gladly correct it.
My underbust is about 29. I typically wear 30F/FF. Soft tissue, projected, close-set, too much outer fullness for Cleo Marcie and others. A constant issue is rib pain and underwires slipping down.
This bra is definitely at least a cup size too small. I thought I was sizing up enough based on advice from a customer service rep, but that is definitely not the case! I can tell you that this feels like a solid 28 band but that's about all I can weigh in on, LOL.
I just received Comexim Ginger and Elena, both in 60H. The Elena feels slightly more projected at the wire, which is a better fit for me. However, Ginger is very pretty and the wires are perfect and comfortable, so it will be in my regular bra rotation.
Edit after a few wears: The band is almost too tight- it feels perfect when I'm standing and is comfortable for most of a day, but can start to feel tight at around the 9 hr mark or if I'm sitting and slouching for a long time. Although I wish it had a little more projection at the wire, the top of the cups fit perfectly with no gaping or quadding.
I've just tried on this bra and am astounded by how well it fits. I will update my review after a few wears. This is the snuggest 28 band I've experienced (measures 26 inches stretched) and it feels secure without strangling me. The wires are what I am most happy about. They are narrow and U-shaped, with a low gore. The Elena is a simple design, but prettier than it looks on the Comexim website. The foam cups are light and flexible and the seams are fairly low profile, although will show through a very thin shirt. I am FOB with tall, narrow roots and immediate projection.
Edited after ...a few wears: Although the band on Elena measures exactly the same as my Ginger in the same size, it feels a little looser and comfortable for a whole day (tested on an eleven hour drive), I think because the bottom of the cups are slightly more projected. My UB currently measures 28/26.5/25.5 so I think I could wear either a 60 or 65 band depending on the day. The top of the cups lay flat with no gaping or quadding, but I feel a little extra space on the upper and outer part of the cup near my armpit. I think I could go down a cup size to get rid of the extra space, but it is minimal enough that I'm not worried about it. I would like it if the straps were set in a little on both Elena and Ginger as they rub on my armpits a bit. This happens to me in virtually every bra I ever worn, except for Panache Clara, so it is not a huge deal. So far, I'm sold on Comexim bras and recently received a 65F Anna Pardal Lady Grey half cup from needboobwisdom and am curious to see how it compares fit-wise. Read more 207 more words
** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurements are CUP HEIGHT and GORE HEIGHT. **
Customization: This is my third round of customizations with Comexim. Basically, I need a 60H Standard Plunge with slightly lowered cup height and gore, and I need the straps moved in so they are sitting more like on a 60G.
My second round, with the Pearl Flower Mint Standard Plunge, worked out perfectly for the cup height (tip: you must reduce cup AND gore height by the same amount to maintain the same proportions!), but we still struggled with getting the strap placement correct. I basically ended up with the same ...placement as on an unaltered 60H bra, which means it is too wide for me and ends up digging into my armpits when I move my arms. After many emails and photos with Joanna, she asked me to take one more measurement: measure the upper cup from the gore to where the straps should attach. Therefore, this is exactly how I requested my order:
Queen of Hearts 60H: Please keep as Plunge - Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction - Cup depth: normal for 60H, total 20 cm - Cup height: Reduce 1 cm, total height 14 cm - Gore: Reduce 1 cm to keep original cup shape - Outer cup length/strap attachment area: total length 6 cm, same as 60G - Move in straps and change angle of outer cup: top of cup to strap attachment measure 17 cm instead of 18.5 cm
** Final bra should be the same wires and cup depth as normal 60H, same cup height and strap placement as 60G ** Outer cup angle needs to be cut in more than normal so that straps are moved in like on 60G
Note: the reason that writing "move straps in 1.5 cm" isn't clear is because once you change anything about the cup, like the cup height or depth, the placement is already going to be slightly different than on an unaltered style, and it's impossible to verify if the alteration was done as you intended. Many other people have had issues with this method of requesting strap placement changes, so to save yourself the headache, please take the measurement as I did, and provide a photo if possible.
I used the same notes to order the Queen of Hearts Plunge and the Elena Plunge, which are both basically the same bra but in different fabrications. I am pleased to say that this customization worked out perfectly! Coincidentally, Joanna was very fast with this order and shipping was also very quick. I received the order 16 days after placement, when it normally takes Joanna about 16 days to produce and ship . . .
Fit: Queen of Hearts is made from a slightly shiny knit fabric, and the band is single layer firm tricot. Elena is all mesh with a double layer powermesh band. Both bras fit pretty much the same, though oddly my Elena came in with wires 2 cm smaller than normal, and the cup measured .5 cm deeper than normal. I remember someone else who ordered Queen of Hearts in 2020 said that the band came in much smaller than expected, and both of these bands measure 53 cm, which is within the normal range for this size. Most of my Comexims in 60H measure 53 cm, with a range of 53-56.5 cm. They are both very snug on me, but not tight enough to need an extender. For reference, my underbust is 26.5-27" depending on how tightly you measure, but my ribcage doesn't expand much bigger than this. If you are between band sizes or have a very flexible ribcage, consider sizing up to your sister size in these styles.
Other than the band being extra snug, the cups fit exactly as expected. This gives me a really nice round, lifted shape without being too tall in the cup or running too high in the armpit. The only caveat is that now that I am a little fuller, I probably need to request the next order with +1 cm additional depth in the cups. Combined with the snug bands, the cups do look and feel a little tight on me now, but that is due to my changing size and not realizing it in time for this order.
Styling: Queen of Hearts was a pleasant surprise because it looked pretty different from what I had expected. The fabric of this bra is different from all of my other Comexims and is a thin silky knit with slight shine, similar to the fabric Freya and Fantasie use for their printed bras. The cups are black, as is the band, but the cradle and trims are deep wine. Somehow I had expected this to be a brighter red, but I like the color. Straps are medium width plain wine-colored satin. The center gore and strap attachments have two small square stacked bows using the contrasting colors. The band is pretty standard for Comexim, with a deep leotard back. Wing fabric is made of single layer firm tricot. It is a black bra, but a little different. She's not fancy, but Queen of Hearts is a nice update to a basic. Read more 781 more words

Basically, Elena is a beige-colored mesh bra. You can think of her as a solid nude Ingrid, or a mesh version of the Basic. However, if you look at the trims, they are actually very cute: the trim that outlines the wire channel and connects the cradle to the wings is actually a pattern of little bows! This is a unique touch and adds a little something extra to an otherwise basic style. Note that when it comes to elastic and bows, Joanna tends to use whatever she has on hand. I ended up with the diamond textured beige elastic I've received on many other beige bras, and my center bow is a double stacked folded square bow in beige satin. The website photo depicts a gingham bow, and the blogger's photos depict grosgrain bows. Your trims will vary . . . depending on what is in stock.
The band is pretty standard for Comexim, with a deep leotard back. Wing fabric is made of double layered firm powermesh. This is a different iteration of a nude bra, and since I really love Comexim's mesh bras for their ultra-lightweight feel, I think I like this better than the Basic! A great addition to your collection if you just want another beige/nude in a lighter fabrication. Read more 881 more words

Requested wires and cup depth of 60H, shortened cup height and gore of 60G, outer cup shape/strap placement of 60G

When a package from Poland arrives in the mail, it is truly a happy day. Incidentally, this second shipment from Comexim was sent out during the COVID crisis right before Comexim shut down production, but it somehow arrived more quickly than my order earlier this spring (25 days instead of 30 days).
The only customization I requested in this order was: Cup height reduced 1 cm, straps moved in 1 cm.
However, I was a bit surprised to see that this Lace Nude Half Cup bra I ordered in 60H with cup ...height reduced 1 cm and straps moved in 1 cm looked so small. And the fabric, instead of the jacquard lace pictured online, was the same mesh lace as the fabric on my Ginger Plunge. After measuring, I also found that the wires in this bra are the wrong size and are the wires for 60G. Therefore, what I really ended up receiving was a Ginger 3HC in 60G!
After reviewing user photos, I found some variations in the fabric in each bra, so it seems that Comexim is just sewing this bra with whatever nude lace they have on hand. Looks like I am not the only person who received a bra made with the Ginger lace. I don't mind the appearance, but this bra was originally priced much higher than Ginger (158 zl vs 120 zl), so really I think this should just be priced about the same as Ginger. I got this at a reduced price of 130 zl, but still found this to be a bit odd.
Because I suspected that the Basic 3HC I tried earlier in 60H ran exceptionally shallow in fit, I decided to order this WITHOUT increased cup depth although I've already figured out I need +1 or +2 cm in the cup depth. However, this one measures exactly the same in cup depth as the Basic 3HC at 19 cm, so I will definitely be ordering future 3HCs with additional depth. I can also tell that the cup height customization was done, as it is exactly 1 cm shorter than the standard cut. It looks fine on me at this height, but I think that with the increased depth, I will now ask for 2 cm reduction in cup height. I asked for strap placement to be moved in 1 cm, and it looks like this was done as well. The strap placement is OK for me on this bra but I will also ask for the placement to be moved in further. I have sent Joanna a picture of the outer edge of the cup and strap attachment and asked her if she can make it just like the 60G, which doesn't chafe me in the underarm area.
However, the main issue with this bra is that I checked the wire measurements and compared against my other bras. The wire is too short and narrow to be a 60H and measures the same as my 60G bras. It also looks exactly the same as my 60G bras. Since the band is very tight on me, it does stretch horizontally and doesn't cut into my tissue, so I didn't notice the issue immediately. However, the smaller wire is 1 cm shorter and .5 cm narrower, which makes a difference for me in the fit. It also changes the placement of the strap attachment and the cut of the outer cup. However, the cup depth of this was correctly made to 60H measurements, so it is a combo of 60G wires and 60H cups. I am not sure why this happened and I have emailed Joanna to let her know. (Update: once I pointed this out, I asked Joanna for a small discount on my next order, and she agreed to refund my shipping cost on my next order)
The band of this bra uses the same very firm stretch tricot as the Basic does, so it is quite firm. The wings have the body lace extended from the cradle to the front portion of the wing, which is a nice touch. Ginger's wings are fully lined in stretch lace overlay. This style has the same deep leotard back as all my other Comexim styles. The only other real differences between this bra and the Ginger is that the upper edge has a horizontal strip of lace attached with an eyelet pattern, and the lace quality appears to be the same as the one pictured. The straps on both bras are identical, and the center gore has a tonal ribbon that is lighter than the one on Ginger.
Fit-wise, this bra is basically a 60G on me, and it feels that way. The wires are a little too small, and the cups are a little shallow. It's passable and it does give me a much better shape than the Basic 3HC in 60H with its flattening, overly-tall cups, but it's not ideal. I'd prefer the normal 60H wires and deeper and shorter cups. Straps could be moved in a little further. Because the band is so firm and the cups are already small, the band on this hooks but feels really tight, so I need an extender for comfort on this one.
It's a bummer that it didn't turn out was I wanted due to the wire mistake, but I am pleased that the actual adjustments I requested in my order were done, and I am reaching out to Joanna to see about ordering another one with additional modifications and corrected wires. Like all my Comexims so far, this is totally wearable, just not perfect. I am getting close to getting the best fit! Read more 878 more words
** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurements are CUP HEIGHT and GORE HEIGHT. **
This is my second round of customizations with Comexim. My main concerns have been around lowering the cup height and cutting the outer cup at a steeper angle so that the straps can be moved in. I emailed Joanna several times to discuss how to do this and showed her pictures of what I wanted, and she told me to request the below customizations:
Pearl Flower Mint 60H: Please keep as Plunge - Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction - Cup depth: normal for 60H, total 20 ...cm - Cup height: Reduce 1 cm, total height 14 cm - Gore: Reduce 1 cm to keep original cup shape - Outer cup length/strap attachment area: total length 6 cm, same as 60G ** Final bra should be the same wires and cup depth as normal 60H, same cup height and strap placement as 60G
However, while the cup shape and height are now perfect (note: if you want to maintain the same shape, make sure to lower the gore the same amount as you lower the cup height, otherwise your bra will end up kind of straight across), the issue of the outer cup length and strap attachment still hasn't been addressed. The strap placement is identical to my unaltered 60H Ingrid Plunge. Therefore, it's still sitting a little too far apart with the sides of the cups chafing a bit under the arms. I am asking Joanna once again the best way to request this change as last time I simply asked to "move straps in 1 cm" but the angle of the outer cup edge didn't change.
This comfort issue aside, the rest of the bra is awesome. The band is TTS and fits perfectly. Like Ingrid, Pearl Flower Mint has a printed mesh outer layer and a stretch tricot inner layer for the wings. The cups are much better for my proportions with the slightly reduced height--it's amazing how much difference 1 cm can make. The volume and shape of the standard 60H Plunge always worked for me, so the cups fit me as expected. They are made from soft green mesh printed with a white vine and soft floral pattern, which is just lovely. The upper cup is trimmed with simple mint green lace, and are lined with white cotton. The straps are seafoam with an interesting shiny texture, and there are satin ribbons at the strap attachments and center gore, as well as a silver C charm.
Pearl Flower Mint is a sweet and lovely summer bra with a slightly unusual color combination, and I am very pleased to finally add it to my collection! If only we could figure out the cut of the outer cup and strap placement, I would be happy wearing nothing but Comexim altered Plunges. While I also ordered a custom 3HC that worked out pretty well, I think that the Plunge is the better fit for me as it gives a more rounded and lifted shape. Read more 414 more words
This bra's measurements have been altered
Requested wires and cup depth of 60H, shortened cup height and gore of 60G, outer cup shape/strap placement of 60G
** This is a customized bra! The only non-standard measurements are CUP HEIGHT and GORE HEIGHT. DEPTH was requested but seems to measure as standard. **
This is my second round of customizations with Comexim and third attempt with making the 3HC cut work for me. My main concerns have been around lowering the cup height and increasing the cup depth, as the standard 3HC is too tall but too shallow at the same time. I decided to try this in the Ingrid since I think it is one of the most stable and classic Comexim styles and the mesh fabric would give a better ...idea of the fit than the thicker satin used on styles like the Basic. I emailed Joanna several times to discuss how to do this and showed her pictures of what I wanted, and she told me to request the below customizations:
Ingrid 60H: Please make 3HC, not Plunge - Wire size: normal for 60H, 21.5-22 cm before gore height reduction - Cup depth: increase 1 cm, total 20 cm (same depth as 60H Plunge) - Cup height: Reduce 1.5 cm, total height 12 cm - Gore: Reduce 1.5 cm to keep original cup shape - Outer cup length/strap attachment area: total length 6 cm, same as 60G * Final bra should be same wires as 60H, slightly deeper and shorter cups, strap placement like 60G
The resulting bra I received is pretty good, though the measurements didn't turn out exactly as I asked for. The cup depth came in at 19.5 cm instead of 20 as I requested, as I can feel that the cups are still a bit shallow. The cup height also came in at 12.5 cm, so it was reduced only 1 cm instead of 1.5 cm, and gore height reduced 1.2 cm instead of 1.5 cm. So, the cups are still a little taller and shallower than what I asked for, but overall it fits quite well.
However, like I wrote in my review of the Pearl Flower Mint, the outer cup angle and strap attachment were still not what I had asked for, which was to match the angle of the 60G. Still, because these cups are shorter and shallower than the Plunge, the straps end up naturally being placed about .5 cm further in, and I didn't notice any uncomfortable chafing from the strap placement though I would've preferred them a bit closer set.
My only issue with the fit is that the 3HC still seems to give me a bit of a flattened shape. The Freya Patsy/Summer Haze 3HC gives me a rounder shape, so I think this cut just isn't really suited for my body. I think there might be a bit too much projection at the wire so it doesn't have enough of a lifting effect, and the shallow center of the cup ends up pushing tissue both upwards and downwards in the cup. I might try it one more time with the correct cup depth, but the altered Plunge is definitely my preferred cut.
The band fits perfectly and is TTS. Like Pearl Flower Mint, the band is made from double layer printed mesh and lined with stretch tricot. The cups are also covered in printed mesh. I still love the antique rose aesthetic of Ingrid even though warm tones aren't usually my thing, as the colors are dusty enough to not read overly autumnal. The trims on my Ingrid 3HC are almost identical to my Ingrid Plunge, with lace at the upper cup and russet colored ribbon bows at the center gore and strap attachment, but this time I received a different elastic. The straps on this bra are satin-textured with picot edges rather than the simple diamond-edged elastic I received on my first Ingrid. It looks like Comexim routinely mixes and matches available trims across multiple bra styles, so you may expect some variations in elastic and lace.
If you're just experimenting with Comexim alterations, Ingrid is a great place to start to explore all their fits! Such a classic! Read more 578 more words

Requested wires of 60H, increased cup depth +1 cm, shortened cup height and gore, outer cup shape/strap placement of 60G
This is a great bra for my narrow/tall roots, even, center full, projected boobs. The wires sit right in my IMF with no extra space even on the sides. The only fit issue I've noticed so far is the band - it's a little stretchy for a 60 (though it's nude, so maybe that's to be expected). I wear it on the second of the four hooks, which isn't great, but isn't terrible, since there are four hooks.
It gives a pointier shape than my Belle De Nuit and Celebration Comexim plunges, but not excessively so. It's invisible under everything except very thin, tight shirts (on those, the vertical seam shows). Overall, it is a beautiful, high-quality bra.
Edit (10 months later): I've since lost weight, plus wear caused the band to stretch out a bit, so this bra doesn't fit anymore.

For reference, I am projected, FOB, center full, narrow roots, and petite (4'11"). I purchased this bra through Breakout Bras on sale during July 4th, so it's labeled as a 28FF. As per "Melissa's comments" in the item description, I only sized up one cup instead of two, since I lack upper fullness (normal size UK 28F). The fabric is soft and smooth with marble colors of blue, gray, and pink.
Unfortunately, the fit is a little small. I get some slight quadding on my larger side, but it fits my smaller side well. I also feel like the slightly small cups compress my my breasts into my ...chest rather than lifting them up front like I'm used to in my other Comexim bras. I contacted Breakout Bras to ask if I should size up to 28G. She suggested I stick with the 28FF, since 28G might have too much volume in the top of the cups for me.
The band only stretches to about 66cm/26in, but it's somehow still extremely comfortable. My snug underbust measurement is 27in and tight underbust is 25.5in, so that's probably why the band doesn't bother me too much. Compared to my Panache Cari band (64cm/25in stretched), this bra feels like a wonderful boob hug. The wires overlap at the gore and are very soft even compared to my other Comexim bras, and I love how comfortable they feel. They also don't cut into my armpit compared to my Comexim Ingrid, but the wire lengths in both bras measure 22cm, so I'm unsure why that is (not complaining though, my armpits have never been happier). This is my third Comexim bra, and I think I'm getting closer to solidifying the right size for me. 60HH is probably my best bet with no alterations, but I'll be needing straps moved in and cups lowered for sure so maybe 60J with alterations. My first Comexim experience was with the Magic Plunge from Breakout Bras, so I expected the Basic Plunge to be a very comparable bra as they seemed to share the same cut and fabrication. Originally I had ordered 60G, but found that this size was too small as scooping or pulling the band snug would cause some major overflow in the cups. I also always felt the combination of wire width/cup depth to be too small and that I was busting out of the cups, so I decided to take a chance and size up to 60H in the standard plunge cut.
Originally I had concerns that ...the cup height would be a little too tall in 60H, but I decided to skip alterations for this first order in order to correctly assess the standard size and fit. However, it turns out my instincts were correct. While the 60G in the standard plunge cut is too small for me in terms of wire size and projection, the height was better. The 60H cup width and depth are perfect for me, but as the fullest portion of the cup is a little higher than my natural shape, I have some emptiness at the top of the cup on my smaller side. When I move, I can also see some gapping at the top of both cups that doesn't occur in the 60G. The taller cups also mean that the side of the cup and strap cause a little chafing. My hunch is that the problem is driven by the cup height because the cup width, depth, and wire measurements are pretty much the same as all of my other best fitting padded cup bras so far, and I get a pretty good fit on my larger side when I don't move my arms in.
Thus, in terms of sizing, I will plan to ask for 1.5 cm reduction in cup height and straps moved in 1 cm, which should give me the right wires and cup volume without the cups coming up too high on my body. Other than this, the shape of the cups is awesome and fits my shape well. The taller cups even play well with my tall roots, so I am thrilled with the overall fit of the Comexim standard plunge!
The band of my bras in this order all measured 54 cm, with one bra coming in slightly shorter at 53 cm. This matches perfectly with the average band length for this size according to the data here, so I am happy that the bands came in TTS to my expectations, as I had heard that the bands have been running smaller as Joanna tries to standardize them to their size chart. Based on my experience, I would recommend ordering your UK band size and add 2 cups to your index cup size, then converting to the Comexim cup size chart. So, for me, my normal size of 28E converts to 28:6, which becomes 28:8 in Comexim, or 60H. This is much more accurate than their size chart, which tells me I should be in 65G or 70E as my underbust measurement is kind of between 65 and 70. The bra came with 4 hooks, which I appreciate. On me, this band size feels perfect for my 26.5" underbust, and I love that the leotard back keeps the band nice and low.
The only thing other than the cup height that I don't love about this fit are the overlapping wires at the gore. I find overlapping wires to be a bit unstable on my body, because although my breasts are right next to each other with no gap, my splayed roots work better with standard gores of about 1"/2.5 cm. This gore is extremely narrow, about half of the width I am used to, so it takes some extra positioning on my body to sit properly.
I ordered this bra in both Black and Beige colorways, and I am pleased that both fit virtually identically on me. They are really lovely "basic" everyday bras and I expect to get plenty of wear from them. I didn't realize until I received the bras that the fabrication is indeed different from the Magic/Celebration styles I already owned. The cups are made from stretch medium-shine satin, that the band is made from a particularly firm stretch tricot. It feels more breathable, firmer, and more secure than the shiny stretch "disco pant" poly/spandex fabric used on the cups that also doubles as wing fabric on the similar Magic and Celebration bras that I own. Though this is a seamed bra and not molded, I found that the seams are quite discreet on me, and the simple trims do not show through tight clothing.
In terms of trims, I feel that Comexim is a bit more simplistic compared to other brands, which helps to keep the costs down. My Ingrid Plunge shares the same upper cup lace, picot edged band elastic, textured strap elastic, and dyed to match plastic hardware. The Black and Beige colorways of this bra have slightly different strap elastic (Black has a picot edge and different texture). Simple ribbon bows decorate the gore and strap attachment, with no blingy charms to speak of.
In general, I am very pleased with my first Comexim direct order and can't wait to order more bras with the lowered cup height and moved in straps. This is an awesome fit on me and I am so glad that I took the plunge to try these bras! Read more 844 more words
Thanks to a review by A Tale of Two Boobs, I learned that Comexim has two different plunge cuts, though they are not explicitly marked on the website. While most of their padded plunge are the "Standard Plunge" cut, they have a few styles that have a lowered gore and shallower cup. Ginger is one of these "Low Plunge" styles, and since it was very affordable and pretty, I decided to add it to my recent order to compare the two plunge fits.
I ordered the same size as in the Standard Plunge to compare the fits side by side, and I decided to skip alterations for ...this first order although I was a little concerned about the cup height. It turns out that this style measures about .5 cm lower with a similarly lowered gore compared to the Standard Plunge. While the band happens to measure exactly the same as all the other bras in my order at 54 cm, I could tell immediately that the reduced cup depth made a big difference in the fit. With the band hooked normally, the band felt significantly tighter than my other bras in the Standard Plunge cut. Although the cups combined are 1 cm shallower in this style, it had the effect of making the band fit 1 cm tighter, which resulted in the wires feeling more noticeable on my body.
In order to solve this, I added one hook to the band via an extender, which ends up adding about 2 cm to the band. This improves the fit, though I probably would not size up to a 65 band as the natural stretching with wear should solve this issue. The only difference in the fit of this bra is that the shallower cups end up visually giving the appearance of a larger, flatter cup rather than the more rounded shape the Standard Plunge give me, despite this cup height being a bit shorter. Though I feel like I could really wear either cut, I think that ideally I would need to lower the cup height and move in the straps on this style as well. The Standard Plunge seems to be slightly more flattering on my shape, though it will take some more wear testing to conclusively make up my mind on the fits.
Stylistically, Ginger really reminds me of the Ewa M Perlowy that I picked up very recently. Both are plunge cuts in beige with floral lace, both have floral patterns of shiny blossoms on open mesh, both have a double layered lace wing, are both are trimmed with tonal beige ribbons. The Comexim lace is smaller scale and simpler in design compared to the more intricate lace and trims on the Ewa. However, I prefer the Comexim cut by far, and the firm wings are definitely preferable in this style. While Ginger is a little less fancy in terms of construction and details than Perlowy, it is a much better fit on me. Something about this rounded Comexim cup shape really suits me better.
I think I may reorder the Ginger and ask for the Standard Plunge cut with the modifications I am planning to request on all future bras-- cup height lowered 1.5 cm and strap placement moved in 1 cm. It's such a pretty basic bra that I'd love for it to be a perfect fit! Read more 552 more words
My Stats: FOB, projected, close set, firm and dense tissue. Size: Normally 28FF, got this in a 28FF
Bra Stats Appearance: plunge style bra that is salon colored with greyish lace and tan/brown colored bows.
Cups: regular projected cups with narrow wires. The cups are tall for my FOB shape and ended up sliding down to get a better fit. I should have gone up a size or 2 in this bra because the wire sits on breast tissue on my larger side and there is some quadding as well.
Band: it's a pretty solid band however, it gets stretchy pretty quickly
Gore: gore is of mid height and tacks
Straps: average distance apart. Not as wide as the Ewa Michalak straps.
Shape Under Clothing: round shape. I really like the shape the Sonia provides under clothes. It's not too in your face. The padding level is just right where I feel protected from nip slips but not so thick that I have to think about what shirt I'm wearing.
This is one of my two favourite bras right now and I miss it when it goes in the wash.
The Good: I'm on the small side of a 28 band and I love Comexim's 60 bands. I wear it quite happily on the loosest hooks. Just like every other Comexim I've had, it feels like a cloud to wear. I'm also pretty narrow and close-set, and the wires on this bra almost exactly follow my IMF, which would be great except...
The Bad: It's not got quite enough immediate projection for me. So I get wrinkling at the base of the cup, but that's not a dealbreaker. The straps are also very far apart, and I see why having the straps moved in 2cm is a popular alteration.
Thank you so much for your review. It would also be great if you could add all the measurements for the bra. This is exactly the size I was thinking of getting
