I bought this bra in "nude" to wear under a wide-neck, low-cut dress at a wedding, and it did pretty well for that.
PROS: Well-made. The cut is perfect for wide-neck dresses -- I have quite broad shoulders and I really liked how wide-set the straps were. Very feminine. Doesn't feel like a 'big' bra.
CONS: I ordered at least 2 cup sizes too small, a newbie mistake on my part -- but having never worn a bra that fit before, I didn't seriously believe it was possible that I needed a cup size as big as I did. A scoop and swoop brought me spilling out of the top, and I have ...bottom-heavy breasts! The band was a little looser than I expected -- I think if I were to reorder larger cups I would also downsize to a 30. Bottom-heavy as I am, the cut just wasn't good on me. I like something with a little more lift. I think that's a function of the typical Curvy Kate style, not a fault of this bra.
I ordered a bland color because that's what I was looking for, but I'd definitely go more colorful if I did it again! Read more 84 more words
First, the band -- It is quite stretchy. So much so that I think it would be worth sizing down a band size (and almost certainly ordering the smaller band if one is in between). As I wore this bra during a not-too-active day, it wasn't much of a problem. But it definitely would have moved around if I'd worn it on a typical work day.
The cups -- Very definite wide and shallow shape going on. I appreciate that the wires are wide enough for me, ...even though I quad out of the cups. ("Quad" can be a verb now, right?) The material along the inside edge of the cup is soft enough that the quad boob doesn't feel uncomfortable.
I'm not sure if the cup runs a bit small in addition to the shape issue, or if the shape issue accounts for all of my difficulties. I fill out the outside half of the cup just about perfectly -- so if I sized up in the cup, I wouldn't spill over inside, but I would have gapping outside. (So either way, I think shape is *enough* of an issue to make a 34H/32HH not really worth seeking out to try.)
Much better fit than the Tease Me, which is disastrous in smaller sizes. The band is too big for me, and seems to be on the stretchy side. The cups are quite shallow, and the gore is very low. This bra would be perfect for shallow-breasted ladies that need a plunge, as this is one of the very very few plunges that work on shallow breasts.
This bra does not match my shape at all, it's much too shallow and the cups wrap around to my back and irritate my armpits. It's a cute bra and looks good on but it's not my shape. The bottom of the cup also wrinkles because it is too shallow. I have listed this bra if you're interested.
I like a new bra to fit on the first hook, giving me room to move on to the second and third hooks as it stretches out. While in a 32 band I already needed to fasten this bra on the second hook, the 30 band was very tight on the loosest hook. Like the 32FF, the 30G also gives me the orange-in-a-glass effect as well as quad-boob, and the gore doesn't lie flat. I plan to try the 32G.
I love the look of this bra, and have admired it for a long time. But was dissapointed when I finally found one. The straps are too stretchy to give much support and they are very wide set, and tend to rub my armpits. It gives a very uplifted cakes on a plate cleavage. Very in your face. The cups do run small. The band is very stretchy, i could use a 26.
This is my rock cello bra https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I could probably easily go to a 34G or a 32G/GG, but this bra is extremely comfortable as is, I just get a LOT of cleavage. As in jacking the ladies to Jesus levels of cleavage. No nipple poking out or anything, so it's acceptable.
I have the purple and aqua colorway and the black and white colorway. I do think the black and white is a smidge larger in the cup.
Back has 3 hooks, it's awesome, I love it. Band is very stretchy, but it holds very tight and doesn't ...shift around on me at all, even with the crazy antics I put it through.
Despite being crazy good at giving me cleavage, I can NOT shake myself out. Jumping around, playing rock cello, playing guitar, headbanging, singing, acting a crazy girl for 2 hours and the worst was the top lace ruffle peeked out a bit when I was leaning forward enough to headbang. The straps showed from time to time, but the shirt is prone to that, so it's not a bra issue.
The ruffle makes this a bit of a problem, if I'm not wearing a tight cami under to cover the lace and ruffle, or if I'm wearing a shirt that I don't care if the ruffle shows. Given as it's in the upper 90's here now, I'm just not wearing them except for performances.
No, it's not the MOST practical of bras. I don't really care, I like them. They're cute, they fit, they give me impressive cleavage, and they fence the ladies in nicely. Plus, I have enough plain bras (ok, 2, but that's enough), so I want fun and cute. Read more 192 more words
A very pretty bra! The band fits perfectly on the loosest hook. The bra is made of satin with lace around the top of the cups. The satin is soft and not so shiny (which is good!) and the lace is much prettier in person than it looks in pictures. It is pretty thick though, so likely to show through thin shirts.
The back of the cup is cotton and is very soft and comfortable. The support around the cups is good. They are a little too far apart to give me cleavage where my breasts are pressing together, but they bra does give a nice shape.
This is ...a plunge bra, and I went up a cup size because there are a lot of reviews saying that it runs small. I think it fits pretty well - it squashes my breasts down slightly at the edge, but I wouldn't say that it's causing 'quad boob'. It's pretty stiff right now, and I think that if I had gotten a larger size it would gape as it got looser with wear and washing. As it is now, I don't feel like anything is going to slip out the front when I bend over or move, and it feels pretty supportive. It's actually extremely comfortable, and I don't feel the need to adjust anything when I'm wearing it. Read more 119 more words
I am shallow-shaped and have yet to find a plunge that fits, in part because my boobs are fuller in the middle and always quad along the inner edge of the cup. Although the underwires are very short, the tall sides help to encompass softer sideboob. The low gore is actually quite comfortable, but I would've preferred a snugger band and larger cup, perhaps a 28F. I can definitely see this bra working great for someone with wide-set boobs.
The band stretched out very quickly. Gives nice shape up top to my otherwise empty up top breasts. very comfortable. Side profile makes breasts look pretty flat, think cups are too shallow.
I ordered this bra because I really needed a black bra that I could wear under anything, but it didn't work out. I measure 33 inches underbust and ordered this in a 32 band size, which nice and snug. The cups were very problematic. They were slightly too small, but the major problem was that the cups seemed to pull my breasts out to the side and slightly down. Not good. At all. This went back very quickly.
I can actually only get this band to stretch 2 inches (to 26") before the stretch is coming from the underwires flexing, making the whole thing wider and then it cuts in even worse (I took the ribbon out of the top edge to try relieving this, which helped a little but did not make it wearable). I had this in 30GG, but it's too high and wide under the arms to even wear it for a fit assessment - feels like it's sawing my arms off. Also, the flocked polka dots show through everything.
Unfortunately I bought this bra before I found my "actual" size, which is 2 cup sizes larger so obviously this bra is not going to fit me. Other then that the lace is a bit scratchy and the band is very stretchy.
The bra is gorgeous but I bought it before I found my "actual" size, which is closer to a 32 H in curvy kate so obviously the bra does not fit. I spill out every where, my only real complaint that I can not attribute to size is the fact that the band stretches to a full band size larger, so beware.
Most people recommend going up two cup sizes in this bra, but that was too much for me. Wires much too wide, cup much too big. What a shame, because it's gorgeous and lined with some of the softest fabric I've ever felt on a bra!
I ordered this in what turned out to be a cup size too small because of some uncertainty about my measurements and because it was very inexpensive and they didn't have the next size. It's definitely small, but it's still wearable despite some gore-poking.
The band is definitely too big, and the frills and ribbons show through most clothes, but I'll keep it anyway.
I bought this bra at the same time as a Curvy Kate Tempt Me (SG4001) in the same size. They are supposed to have the same fit, but I have found a few differences between the two. The band on the Elegance feels slightly tighter - mostly at the bottom. I also get just a slight bit of quad boob which is not present in the Tempt Me.
The straps do cut into my armpit slightly. It's not uncomfortable, just less than ideal. The lace is noticeable through t-shirts. I wish the wing came up a bit further, but I don't believe many women would have this problem.
