Measurements for this bra: Stretched band: 81cm Band length: 60 cm Cup width: 14 cm Cup depth: 21 cm Wire length: 25 cm Cup sep.: 2 cm Strap width: 2 cm Hooks: 3
Looks: The bra is pretty though I could do without the frill above the lace. The look it gives is not as front and center as my Ewa Michalak but is still nice. I'm pretty bottom heavy so the boobs on a plate look doesn't really happen for me. There was a little gapping on top (I think from ...the top of the cup being a smidge wide) but I tightened the ribbon up a tiny bit and that fixed that issue. The wrinkles are cosmetic and I don't think I've seen a Thrill Me without them.
Fit: The band is loose for a 28 but since it is taller (3 hooks vs 2 hooks) it seems more stable. The band is mesh and comfy. For a great fit I should probably use a tighter hook as it would pull the wire a little wider but since there is no smaller band I leave it on the loosest hook. The bottom of the cup is pretty shallow and the wires are wide - which works for me as I have a pretty wide root. The longer wire (in comparison to my 28F Cleo Lucy, 28F Deco Half-cup, and 65FF EM CH Lato) really works for me as it keeps my side boob from escaping above the cup. The straps are completely adjustable.
I wore it to work and it was comfy all day. I didn't really need to readjust very often as the longer wire was able to keep my boobs contained.
This bra squeezes your breasts, so it "push up" your breasts tissue high. It might cause quadraboobs, but there are ruffles and ribbon, which hide it. Your boobs might look smaller. (see picture) But the shape is rounded. Squeeze, but rounded. The wires in the front run high, but after one or two wearings it is alright, no painful or uncomfortable feelings. The band is really stretchy. For me it's comfy, but I think that I'm the one obsessed with firm band, so to my 83/85 cm (about 33 inches) this band fits pretty well. But I recommend go band size down (and cup size up, as usual) for slender ...ladies. Cups can run smaller because of shallow cups. The cut of the bra is extremely low for me. This might be solved by go cup size up to 32FF. So if you are on the edge of cup sizes, go up. Also if you've got experience with non-padded underwired CK bras, I'd recommend you go cup size up. (I bought CK Emily and CK Thrill me in the same time and Emily fits me better in the cups, it has got firmer band.) In the future I will definitely buy 32FF padded bras by CK.
The colours I've got the purple/jade version. The purple colour is incredible, I really like it. But I hope, that jade will be more blue (I know, jade is jade, but blind hope is better than no hope), but it isn't. It's just green, you know. But it's interesting idea, so young and strong.
Another chapter for ruffles and ribbon. Is it visible under t-shirt? Yes, of course – it is. But after few wearings it's better.
I'll have to sell it, because of the small cups.,, Read more 179 more words
I love the colorway, I love the sheer details and I also love the support it gives me. I think it's my bra with highest level of support (minus sports bras). But... You know, the shape. It's really ugly. Upside down 7 is terrible. I think my own breasts have better shape than this bra gives me. It's a shame! The band feels too tight at first, but I use an extender, after few hours I closed the bra on the loosest hook (and I'm still on the loosest). The cups are a little bit small, but I'm still struggling with non-padded bras (I love them, but I can't get one that fits)... I hope it has got better shape!
Very pretty bra. The colour i have (gold/teal) is so deep and rich.
The band seems true to size / a little snug.
The cups on me are too small, which was a surprise as i had found my best fitting bra to be a 28H with an extender, thus, i thought, making it the same size/ shape as a 30GG?! I think i might be confused about sister sizing.
Give my breast a pointed shape, due to the cup being too small i think.
i won it on an Ebay auction for super cheap, so i don't mind too much, but there is some serious Orange in the Glass effect going on for me, along with gaping like crazy at the top. The gore doesn't lie flat and i can pull the bra out from my sternum by about 3 inches. It's a shame because it is soooo pretty! The back is slightly more true to size than Thrill Me, but is still roomy for a 28 band.
On a side note, the knickers come up tight with this model. I got my usual size, and i *can* get them on, but only just - i would say to buy the next size up in the knickers!
Some days I can fit into this bra more than others, since my boobs tend to vary in size frequently. The wires are simply too wide; they dig into my armpit. The straps, too, are too far apart. Strangely enough, the underwires dig in to my sternum as well. If my torso was just a tad longer, and my shoulders wider, this would fit. Sadly, it's very uncomfortable ;/ The shape this bra gives me, however, is glorious. Ideally, I think I would size down to a 28GG in this style.
The cups are too small (I had no idea what size I would need), so I can't really give a fair review. I really want to like this bra because it's beautiful, and the Emily has such a strong following. But, so far, it's not working for me.
The straps are a bit too far apart (common problem I have), and I had some quadraboob at the top of the cups. The shape was a little odd because the cups were too small, and the center gore did not sit flush against my sternum. Perhaps the next size up would have helped, but I still don't feel like there's as much lift as I'd prefer. Also, my shape was a little too east-west for what I prefer.
Beautiful set, though. The matching shorts look great with the bra.
I want to like Curvy Kate bras....I REALLY do. They all have beautiful designs and colors, the quality seems good, and you can usually always find them on sale.
I tried the black/purple Romance bra. Visually speaking, it's gorgeous. The purple just pops against the black, and it's by far one of the prettiest bras I've ever seen.
But, the fit is just not for me.
First, Curvy Kate straps are really far apart. Like, the farthest I've ever tried. Second, the shape is always strange. It's very east-west and not perfectly round (but this may be due to me not having the correct cup ...size). It's like a droopy tear drop or something. Also, there doesn't seem to be enough lift, so the top of my boobs look very empty and my stretch marks become more apparent (and I don't need help with that, as it keeps getting worse as I age!)
The band is firm and the underwires are fine. The matching shorts look and fit fantastic, so it's a shame this bra just doesn't work for me, as I'd love a matching set this beautiful. Read more 85 more words
This is a very pretty bra. However, the back is really small; i think it is on account of it being black, and thus the dye has affected the fit. I have to wear an extender with it, as it is about 0.5 inch from closing, let alone being comfortable!
The cups seem true to size, although the wires and strap placement are both very wide.
It has fully adjustable straps. the central gore stabs into my sternum after a couple of hours wear, or if i bend over whilst wearing the bra!
Altogether the material is quite stiff and it is not the most comfortable; but it is so pretty!
This bra is a little over-the-top with the decorative details, but it is gorgeous. Yay.
I got a 30 band, and weirdly when it is stretched it is pretty comparable, length wise, to a bra that was way too tight on me. Yet, this isn't too tight at all. I think I listed that it's just right because it feels fine, though I can yank it away from my back enough to fit a hand in the space there. Then again when I do that, the cups pull taught and it's horrifying. I don't think I could size down and have it be comfortable.
The cups seem to fit okay. ...I have at least a one cup difference between my left and right sides, so in general my right boob is eternally overwhelmed by the cup while the left is comfortably snug. In this particular bra, there is gapping on both sides (more significantly on the right side of course) but I can't entirely tell if it's because the cup size is too big or if the thick lace on the top is just making it appear larger than it is. Depending on how I move my body around, the left side can get slightly quad-booby, I have found.
I have what I consider to be extremely wide-set breasts, and the gore on this one is just about perfect! It lies completely flat and I don't have any random extra space in the cups near the middle like I do in most bras. Hooray.
Unfortunately, the gore is also the biggest problem for me. I wore this bra all day today, and the entire time the wires were jabbing my sternum. And I really mean, jabbing into my bone. It felt like my bra was bruising me (it didn't, from what I can tell) and all day I dreamed about taking it off. No other part of the bra felt too tight.
I am really confused about this, because I feel like the fit of this bra looks and feels ok otherwise. Am I missing something obvious? I think the cups are a little big on this (but not enough to size down, I think?) but other than that I really can't find any noticeable problems with the fit. Do the underwires come up too high? They come up the perfect height to fully enclose my breasts, but maybe that's wrong for this bra style? Or maybe it's my sternum that is the problem? The wires seem to be laying flat but I could be wrong. I really don't know, but this bra really hurts and I don't know if I can wear it again unless I figure out how to tweak the wires a little. Which is a shame, because a) it's beautiful, and b) I bought it on sale and probably can't return it.
I tried to put this in Fitting Help but Bratabase wouldn't let me since in most of the categories I noted that the bra fits fine.
The wires pressing into your ribcage is in general not about the bra being the wrong size or style, but because the ribcage not being flat but the bra wires are. Try to bend the tip of the wires outwards to match the curve of your ribcage better. That should relieve the pressure and make the bra a lot more comfortable.
The band around the ribcage was extremely comfortable--snug, but I don't even feel it. However, the cup isn't tight enough on top and the shape isn't round enough, but I overestimated when ordering, so that's my fault.
I didn't like the sides at all. Even before adjusting the straps, they dug into my sides, and it was unbearable after I shortened the straps to where I needed them to be.
This is one of my favorite bras. It gives great support and is comfortable for all-day wear. The only drawback is that the seams are noticeable through thin clothing.
This bra is absolutely beautiful! Material is silky smooth with absolutely no discomfort, has got to be the least itchiest bra I have ever owned. Unfortunately, the cups wrinkled on me, I have had this problem with Curvy Kate bras before and I'm not sure why. Definitely would have needed to go atleast one cup size down.
The band is quite firm when being worn but can be stretched out quite a bit. Felt like a snug 28 for me. Might have even debated going up to a 30 to be honest! This bra is definitely of high durability, I can not stop raving about this bra! I will be repurchasing it in my size! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
(My one had 'Portia' written and crossed out on the label as shown in the pictures, only issue with it which to be fair isn't really an issue if you're looking for a good fitting supportive bra!)
Bras with fabric cups rarely fit me on top, so I decided to try one with open-on-top cups. It works OK but not great. My breasts are too bottom-heavy for it and I have a slight gap on top. A smaller size might be better for me.
The band is fairly firm. It stretches, but takes a bit of effort to stretch it, so it feels a bit tight on the body.
One of the wires poked through the front stitching after only a couple of months, wearing 2-3 times per week. Hand wash, line dried. Seems to be good quality in general. Like the rounded shape that isn't too far out front, for days and clothes that require that "look".
This is my favorite bra! It fits me perfectly! I love how comfortable I am when I am wearing it from morning to late in the evening. I need to get me more of this line. Although I have notice that the band is very stretchy.
