I've had the Ella for a few months and it still fits quite well. I have no complains about it - it's a pretty bra, the first proper - as in the right size - bra I've ever had. I wear it to got to school or work, to parties... it is very comfortable. It has yet to stretch enough to wear it on the middle hook.
This is a pretty bra! It's the best fit I've gotten so far...center is perfectly flat but doesn't dig, cups fit just right, band is comfortable but snug enough to not ride up on the loosest hook. I have it in chocolate/lime and the colors and embroidery are gorgeous! It is quite sheer but still one of my more supportive bras. Quite high under the arms and I have to watch that I don't overtighten the straps or I will get some wicked red marks on my armpit area and shoulders. Maybe this is why it doesn't lift very well? Wires are ...wide but don't come up very high so they are not bothersome.
I really dislike the shape it gives. I would prefer less pointy and a lot more lift...my cleo lucy and marcie beat it hands down there. I do wear comfy cups/no peek pads in all my unlined bras for modesty and those do round the shape out enough that it's wearable.
I still wear it often...I don't leave the house much so comfort matters more than shape to me. It has held up well and so far not stretched at all. The other colors available are pretty but I won't buy it again...there are better bras for me. Read more 117 more words
This is for the blue/orange Ella. I really like the cut of this bra. The bows on the straps are kind of large, but they’re not noticeable under my tank-top undershirts. The band is nice and tight feeling – a total contrast to the Tease Me I picked up at the same time. The cups are nice and deep for this size, but they are really narrow. Maybe I’m just used to Panache’s wide wires at this point, but I constantly feel like I need to pull everything back in on the side a little. I get a tiny wrinkle at the top where the lace meets the fabric ...cup, but my bottom-heavy boobs have come to expect that, especially in soft-cup bras. The underwires come up a little high in the middle (a common complaint for me). Somehow the ends put a lot of pressure on my sternum, but I think gently bending them out a little or putting something soft under them should help. The straps are NOT fully adjustable, but it’s not an issue on this model for me. The profile is a bit pointy, but it shouldn’t be a big deal under a tight undershirt. I think the cup might be a tiny bit small. I would love to try a 28FF for comparison, but the fit of this one is close enough I don’t want to mess with trying to return/exchange it. In order to get this bra to fit,(as it was too late to return) I had to sew on 2 more sets of hooks. I also had to bend the underwires in, as the cup was starting under my armpit, and not leaving enough room for actural breast.
This is a lovely bra, but it just doesn't fit. I am trying to get close to my correct size but it is difficult because I have gone through a weight loss and unexpected growth spurt in my breasts. It would be perfect if the cup was a few sizes bigger and the band smaller. The only way to wear this bra would be on the tightest hook and tighten the straps as much as possible.
Unfortunately, I was so excited when the bra came in the mail I cut off the tags and tried it on. So I can't exchange it for another size. I wore it only once because I found I had an unflattering quadboob after a few hours.
I really love this bra. It isn't my ideal fit, but I wear it all the time even though I have to adjust myself a few times throughout the day. The band is SUPER stretchy, I definitely recommend sizing down in the back if you can. These cups are smaller than your average ones, so I get some major quadra-boob here, but it's mostly masked by the ruffles (I see what you did there Curvy Kate!). The lining of the cups is super duper soft. I wish everything I owned was made of this ...stuff. The straps are also stretchy and soft, if you often have to tighten your straps a lot, this might be a problem for you. While the Thrill Me is marketed as a "bedroom" bra, it is comfortable enough that I reach for it when I have an 8 am class. I find that wearing a stretchy cami over it eliminates any bumps created by the seams, ruffles, and most of the quadra-boob. However, it does have a tall shape that I personally think looks weird unless I have a v-neck on. The cleavage, however, is very tavern wench-y, and one of my favourite parts of this bra. I went for my regular size here, but if I were to buy the Thrill Me again, I would go for a 28H/HH. I recommend this bra, just size yourself accordingly!
I have this bra in cream and turquoise and it is by far my favorite and best fitting bra I own. I don't understand why this website says I should be a 36B, though, when my measurements put me at a 36D or DD (36 band, 41 bust) depending on the bra - I definitely fall out of a C cup. regardless, this bra is SO beautiful in person and has a lot of delicate details that make it a classic. I'd highly recommend.
The cups have a gap on top (this may be better at a different point in my cycle, my breasts swell a lot on top for 2 weeks out of the month) and the center gore digs in pretty badly. The band on this one is a lot more stretchy than on the 28E I have in the same style.
I may return it depending on how well it fits in the other part of my cycle.
I'm new to proper bra fitting, and while I'm quite well aware that this bra does not fit, I'm not sure where to go from there. I have a few bras that fit really well and I forgot that I'm wearing them, but I have read that their sizing is very off, for example:
Teal/Purple Curvy Kate Thrill Me in 38E fits perfectly, no double-boob, can fill it out all the way. Red/Black Curvy Kate Tempt Me in 38F again, fits perfectly.
With the Romance, I'm very confused on the fit. As you can see from the pictures, the main problem is that the cups are huge - I know I ...need to go down, but I'm unsure of how many cupsizes. Even on my larger breast, I can fit my entire fist into the cup and then some on the top. However, the bottom seems to be ok, aside from some odd wrinkles right above the underwire.
And then the band...it looks like it's cutting in...it feels like it's cutting in, but not that badly...So I bought a bra extender to find out if I needed a bigger band size or not, and even adding just 2 more inches made it ride up and completely destroyed any hope of support. Is this just because the elastic is so narrow? Or is there some bra-guru secret that I'm missing that helps rid me of back fat and cutting into my rolls?
Even despite the poor fit, I am head over heels for this bra, it's just so beautiful and feels like me that I really want to send it back and just order a better size rather than give up.
This bra gives a very lifted shape, almost like a shelf bra, and a very open top. I had some issues with the casing of the underwire rubbing me under my breasts, but it seems to have resolved itself.
This bra has too shallow cups. It has not the same construction as Tempt me! Tempt me fit me well in this size, but Elegance runs small in the cups and large in the band. By the way – the lace is really itchy!
This was too big. It really does run big in the band. I measure 33 inches, and usually go for a 32 band though that's pretty tight. But this one really was big. I'll be exchanging for a 30 band. I didn't find that the cups run small like other people say. A 32GG is often a bit tight in the cups, and since everyone recommends going one or two cups sizes up in this, I did that. But it's at least 2-3 cup sizes too big. I'm sending it back and going to try a 30H instead (what Bradar keeps suggesting). I hope that will work since I really love this style.
Well it fits, sort of. I ordered this because I thought it might be a more practical bra than the thrill me, but the lace on the top of the cups still shows through most things so I would only be able to wear it under thicker clothes.
I also feel like maybe I could go up in the cups, I know it's meant to be a cleavagey sort of bra but the tops of my areolas are peeking out at the top of the cups, but there's no noticeable quadding so I really can't see myself filling the cups on the next size up. The underwires are also poking in the center and I can't see a solution for this other than to bend the underwires out a bit. I reckon this one is just not right for me so I'm thinking I will just return it without bothering to try the next size up.
This is a gorgeous bra, all the way. I bought it for the way it looks, and I wear it because it looks amazing. I have this in the pink/ivory colorway (although I love the almond/black and would love it in a green/ivory or lemon/ivory!).
The band size fits me well - it's neither too tight nor too loose. The underwires are not too wide, and they don't dig in. The gore sits flat against my chest, with no discomfort. The only area of discomfort I have is the fabric along the underwires tends to roll under the underwire and this chafes my ribs. The cups fit well, ...with minimal wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. Everything about this bra is amazingly soft and luxurious.
The colors are amazing, the lace is gorgeous and the ribbons are super cute. I have had issues with the ribbons falling off (while shipping no less), and the colors bleed. If you buy this bra, make sure you wash it in cold water, so your colors don't run. My band is now pale pink rather than ivory, and while it's not noticable it still annoys me. They don't mark it cold wash, but it definitely needs to be! Read more 98 more words
This bra is my favorite bra! I now own three and use them as t-shirt bras because of how smooth the satin is. I cut the ruffles off because I'm one of those people that just hates them because they show under clothing. I also removed the bows on the straps. Alterations aside, this bra is a perfect fit on me. The back band is nice and firm and sits where it's supposed to. The straps are fully adjustable and are super comfortable. The colors are absolutely beautiful. The only issue I have with this bra is that I get a bit of orange in a glass problem with the bottom of the cups. They seem to be shallower than my Wine/Navy colorway.
Update 10/4/12: The Jade/Fuchsia colorway has now become too small in the cups for me and I have double boob. The Wine/Navy is still a perfect fit though. Like I said before, I think the newer colorways are cut smaller. Read more 152 more words
I tried this on in a shop so don't have pictures or measurements but it is really small. I usually wear 28ff but was advised that this is small so tried 28g and it was still heaps too small, at least one if not two sizes too small. But it did give amazing cleavage! And is very pretty.
I got the 28E in nude and the 28E and 28F in black - the 28F in black fit even smaller than the 28E in nude - the wires were bigger but the cup cut in even worse - I tried every sort of strap adjustment, but could not make this bra work.
I am writing this review as I pack this bra and the Freya Sophia up to ship back to the UK, because first and foremost, it did not fit. The cup size is waaayyyy too small. This is alright, as I am in the process of figuring out my Curvy Kate size. Not to fear, my next order contains the next two cup sizes up to try, and I can't wait until they get here!
That being said, this bra is really beautiful and I love it. The "teal" color is darker than it looks online, a rich and vibrant shade of blue-green, nicely complemented by gold criss-cross stitching, lace, and bows. This is seriously the most extravagant and beautiful bra I have ever had in my possession!
One of my favorite things about this bra is the band, which is a bit wider than that in my other bands, and is pretty firm. I feel like it looks good on my back, causing less bulges than some of my other bras.
