I wish I had gone with the sister size of this in a 42F. I'm not actually sure if the cups were too small or I'm just too projected for this bra, but my main issue is that the band is just soooo uncomfortably tight. After a few hours I'm ready to cut it off. The wires slip down from my IMF and the bottom is slightly wrinkled and empty, meanwhile, the top is giving me slight quadriboob. I ordered a 40G in this bra as well and I'm hoping that the size up in the cups will take some pressure off the band.
Edit: so a couple ...of weeks later, this bra has broken in somewhat and it's not physically painful to wear any more! I still think the cups are too small. But the band has stretched out somewhat and isn't cutting in any more. I'm not sure if the wires are wide enough actually. They might be pressing on tissue on the sides, but it's hard to tell. The wires are still slipping down. I tried wearing it with an extender, and it was a hot mess. Which solidifies for me that I am a solid 40 in the band. Read more 95 more words
Finally got my hands on one of these and now is certainly my most cofortable and functional strapless bra. The underwires are very high quality and sturdy. If I could change anything it would be to add cookie pockets to or make the material stiffer in the cups because I find that helps maintain a better shape in a strapless for my full on bottom shape. I also think more could be done to mask the vertical seams. As with most Curvy Kate's, I find the cups run large.
I got this bra in a 30FF because Brastop recommended to get a larger cup. The issue I have with it is, the larger cup means the wires are way too wide, but the bottom of the cup is so shallow I have a good 2cm of empty cup below where my boob actually starts. I also have slight quadding at the center (I’m very center full). The color is a bit orangey and dark for my skin tone, I don’t think this works as a nude for pale skin. The dotted lace is stretchy but it’s set over non stretch mesh, and the lace pattern shows through fitted t-shirts. It’s comfortable enough that I can wear this as an everyday bra while working from home.
This bra is just a design faux pas which also happens to not fit my shape at all. It has a soft microfiber fabric on the outside but underneath, it has slightly scratchy mesh. This wouldn’t be much of an issue except both fabrics have their own seams and they do not exactly overlap so I end up with not one but two sets of bulky seams that make my boobs look lumpy underneath clothing. The edge of the cup is supposed to lie flat against skin but the two fabrics pull against each other so it’s raised (for an even lumpier look!). The cups are too shallow at the bottom for me and the wires are too wide, meaning I simultaneously do not fill the cup AND quad out at the center. Oh, and the gore literally bruised my sternum. I will keep this bra to throw it on when I need to run to the store and nothing else. I’m just glad I got it on sale!
I bought this bra on a online thrift shop in black in the size UK38G (EU85I). It doesn't fit me well as the centre gore doesn't lie flat against my sternum & the wires are a little too high for my liking because they poke my armpits. Nevertheless I still wear this bra on the regular as it gives my breast a nice round shape thanks to the moulded cups & gives them a bit of uplift. This could be wore with or without straps. The strapless effect is created with a firm band that doesn't expand a lot compared to other Curvy Kate's bras & with 2 ...fine lines of silicone (I think) around the edges of the band. This silicone doesn't give me rash but it could be itchy for some people.
To conclude, given its retail price (50€) & if you could try your size or do free exchange, I think this bra is really well made & comfortable. I rated Okay in the Appearance section because its doesn't fit according to the Bratabase guidelines but its isn't too obvious even under skintight clothes. Read more 79 more words
The wire of the sides of the bra dig into my breasts under my arms. The gore felt annoying (too tight?) in little time although it was sitting flat. The material is hard mesh thus a little scratchy. So this bra is not comfortable. Cups are a little loose on the top with some wrinkles but the bra looked ok. I used a back extender because the band was too tight at 33" stretched. How can they call that a 40" band at 31" unstretched?! It comes in many pretty colours.
The quality of this bra is quite nice & it would make an amazing bra for seduction time. Unfortunately, despite being close to my size on the label, the bra doesn't fit me. I went up to one size for the band as Curvy Kate's bands are not really stretching but the main problem is due to the shape of the cups. The cups are too shallow for my shape of breasts (Pendulous & FOB breasts). In consequent, I have a important quadboob effect at the cups top. So the comfort & appearance aren't there! What a shame...
I've asked this type of bra to CK for many years ago, and now it's here in my hand. better than what I've expexted. if I can have smoothie cup design on this bra, could have been bettter.
This bra feels... weird. The band is quite tight for a 30, compared with the Ellace. I have significant quadding because the cup is obviously too small, but at the same time there is a lot of wrinkling. I think this may have to do with the fabric and/or construction. The wire seems too short for the wire channel, there is about 3cm of wire channel on each side that does not have wire inside of it. If I leave the extra fabric on the gore side of the cups (i.e. the wire reaches all the way up in the channel on the armpit side), the gore tacks only up to where the wire reaches, then the rest just floats. If I move it to the other side, I get weird armpit fat shapes.
First bra that fits okay in years! Gore tacks, band doesn't ride up, cups don't cut in. Sucks that I had to have it imported because there are literally no brands that carry anything outside 34B-38D in my country. My only issue with it is that the straps are quite wide set and the cups are also slightly wide at the top, which rubs against my armpit and can be slightly uncomfortable when I'm moving a lot. I also get a very slight gap/wrinkling where the strap meets the cup, I think the stretch lace is maybe expecting more upper fullness than what I have. Looking straight down I get a slightly pointy or triangular shape that may not be my favorite but to be honest I think it's one of those things that only I can tell because I'm the one wearing it - looking in the mirror with a shirt on, I can't notice that at all.
It's a nice bra, but make sure you get the correct size! For me this was too small so I get major quadding at the top and inside the cup along the seams. It has a lot of projection at the wire and the stretch lace helps hide asymmetries or swelling/bloating due to hormones. The straps are slightly too wide for me and the wings rub on my armpit.
This bra both looks nice on my anatomy, & in the way it's designed. A rather modern yet playfully retro daily piece. From looks alone, one would think it better than others I've altered from very different sizes than my bra size, yet feels absolutely horrible in pretty much every way. Everything I'd seen from this style on others prior to purchase, made it seem that my wide short roots would have been a match in heaven here-yet starting to think this style is not for anyone's shape at all?
Oversized, yet stingy and cramped. Top Spot does not lift, it flattens everything in ...it's path.
While the band and straps are loosened, it still digs, cuts, binds and slices it's miserable way though my underbust. It stabs my sternum, pinches upper bust as it's too narrow diagonally, then cup crinkles down from being too tall which itches around areola, and even binds in around armpits. Tightening the straps altered the appearance, mainly by increasing vertical indentation from stress lines on the sides, instead of the usual wrinkles & complete flattening of the lower cup horizontally (not sure why raising the cup half an inch does this).
So far the only thing worse I've ever worn is the Cleo Piper, which probably left me with bone bruises. The pain lasted over a month from only trying it on a moment. Still Top Spot is very cute, and I can't help but try it from time to time hoping I've lost some weight and maybe this time it will work.
The Latte colour feels much more true to size in the band than the 30G - Curvy Kate » Daily Plunge. Unfortunately the microfibre on this one seems to wrinkle a lot more, hence the lower marks for appearance as it isn't actually wearable under tighter fitting clothes, while the actual cup fit/shape feels like for like with the black.
Pleasantly surprised by this one! In the photos you can see a little bit of in-cup quadding along that horizontal seam, which is due to hormonal swelling. When I'm not due on my period, this disappears. This seems to fit similarly to Curvy Kate Eye Spy Balcony Bra (011100) in terms of the lower coverage balcony cut, and lower underarm (which as a petite 5'3" I am very happy about!), and I particularly like the cross over centre front which makes it so comfortable for sitting down all day in. The bottom cups are a laminated fabric, with a standard mesh top cup. I wish there were a tad more immediate projection at the centre front, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I can see this becoming a cheap and cheerful regular in my rotation https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Gives a very natural, relaxed shape. The cups are a 3-part stretch mesh overlaid with a soft microfibre, which has a tendency to wrinkle but the black seems to be not so bad compared to the Latte colour. Similar in fit to the Curvy Kate Lifestyle Plunge Bra (CK5711) plunge bra, but more forgiving due to the stretchiness of the fabrics. I find the band on the black colour feels a bit firmer than the Latte.
So nice to see a longline from Curvy Kate again! Part of the Girls Night collection it has a slightly limited size range (30-38 DD-HH) compared to their usual offering. Feels really well constructed, the longline band is completely made of mesh with no boning so it's super comfortable even when sitting, and I find it doesn't flip or roll. The cups are lined with a foam that's about 1/8th inch thick - so not a push-up style padding but not a thin lining either, I'd compare it to their Daily Dream padded balcony and it has a similar shape too (3-part cut and sew cups, with a ...slightly lower coverage fit). Overbust straps are elasticated with a cute picot trim, and this trim is mirrored on the band too. Fully adjustable shoulder straps have a brushed back for non-slip fit and comfort. I *could* size up to a 30GG for a little more coverage at the underarm but I like the lower scoop I get in the 30G as I'm on the shorter side and find lots of bras dig in at my armpit in G+ cups.
**EDIT 25/10/21 - looks like this is actually available in 30-40 D-J cups, not the more limited size range I originally put down. Read more 102 more words
CAN you compare this bra with Luxe bra? Is it smaller than the other CK cups? Or is this shallow friendly?
FoxTaylor the cup shape is very different to Luxe so it isn't easy to draw a comparison - this is a standard 3 part balcony with a vertical and horizontal seam while Luxe has only vertical seams. As per usual CK styles with lining, the foam makes it run a little on the snug side in the cup but unless you're super full/firm I wouldn't recommend sizing up a cup. FWIW, I can't wear this style when I'm on my period and have hormonal swelling because I spill over the top, which happens to me in the Daily Dream padded balcony too. Hope that helps!
Oh okay, then do you think this bra similar with Daily Dream?
LOVE this. I have the original black one but the tan colourway is just stunning and a perfect autumnal wardrobe addition. The fit is spot on for me, it does require a bit of a wiggle to get it over my hips, but once on it fits like a glove. I could size down in the back to a 28GG (my usual size) based on the fit of the actual bra part if it were made in that size, but I think this might make it too snug in the body - so with that in mind it may be worth considering sister sizing for a more forgiving fit in the body, depending how big your waist:hip ratio is. There are 3x3 hook and eyes at the gusset to adjust the length too which is a great feature.
