I think this would be a very comfortable bra of it fir me right. It was simply too small. the gore didn't rest on my sternum and the top seam cut at the top of my breasts giving me a sort of muffin top. The fabric is soft. The seams may show through a thin shirt but not a t-shirt. The cup is padded but pliable (soft padding not moulded).

So, an older CK balcony really is bigger than the new ones. This is at least one cup size too big, possibly two. Consequently, shape assessment is invalid. This size has enough immediate projection and centre fullness room, but who knows?

Most noticeable: really thick, heavy duty unpadded cup fabric. Almost bathing suit material, but with zero stretch. Seams are really flat. Stretch mesh band with three hooks, scalloped straps which could be fully adjustable if the print fabric were removed from the front half, and really sturdy u-shaped wires. Gore is fairly narrow, as are cups and strap set compared to other CKs. The straps are only slightly too wide (comparable to Cleo Marcie and Hettie and newer CK Daydreamer) and the wires would probably be within range in a size smaller?

Pattern detail is a trio of bright pink leaves with an occaisional baby pink trio and pale pink, bright pink, and pale green accents. It is really quite gorgeous - it just doesn't fit. How many times have I written that?

Me: Narrow roots, narrow shoulders, evenly round, lots of immediate projection, very soft tissue, slightly FoB, slightly centre full, splayed, never met a gore I didn't like, left-heavey by more than a cup size, 31" underbust, but prefer tight band with extender. Panache, Freya size 30GG

Ok, so I love the super thick full frame band! The stretch lace on top is helpful as well, but almost covers too much of the cup and thus in cup quads just a touch. Bottom of the cup is very soft lined mesh. Scalloped, fully adjustable straps, set too wide, of course, but better than Bardot, ... Portia, and Florence. Flirtelle straps are narrower set.

Ellace has more immediate projection - about the same as Portia and Bardot, but more than Florence and way more than Dreamcatcher. Immediate projection is about the same as Flirtelle Ellie and slightly more than Flirtelle Rosie and Giselle. Accommodates centre fullness better than Florence because of stretch lace and way better than ribboned Portia, but not quite as much as the shallower Dreamcatcher. Flirtelle Rosie is the worst for centre fullness and Giselle is like CK Florence. For centre fullness, Flirtelle Ellie and CK Bardot are best overall without stetch lace.

Ellace feels more like my Flirtelles and CK Bardot than other CKs with much taller wings and a slightly taller and narrower centre gore. Size and cup depth are pretty uniform across all the CK and Flirtelles I have tried. Florence is surprisingly wider by a whole cm and as I have mentioned, and Dreamcatcher is shallower.

The differences in this update of CK Bardot is primarily in that it feels lest utiliarian in its construction - the elastic under the arms between the strap attchment and the edge of the wire is way toned down and actually curves not cuts, and the mesh is softer and lined. The band thickness is new and nice and the outside frames are lace not poly-satin and a little more practical, the wing is a touch taller, and the straps a touch narrower set. The band of Ellace is a bit bigger and looser - enough that I don't need the extender - but I don't think it will stretch out as much as it is thicker to begin with.

Of the CK new narrower more projected styles, this one reminds me of Flirtelle. It has almost enough immediate projection, but the straps are set way too far apart. Plus, the cup too wide for me. As to the centre fullness - it doesn't cut or soft tack, but it does not quite sit right. The straps are almost not long enough.

Made of super soft no-stretch mesh, lined in bottom part, embroidered on the top part. Back of band is stretch mesh. Three hooks, no side boning. It has a taller centre gore than the other styles. Straps are scalloped and fully adjustable. I got a greyish, greenish, sky (powder) blue with yellow ribbon.

Of the new CK narrow and projected styles I have tried, this is the most immediately projected, if a bit wider than I'd like. The straps are also set in my armpits like the old CK standard. The big problem with the fit is the ribbon detailing. This is similar to Tease Me. It cuts into my centre fullness big time.

Made of super soft no-stretch mesh, lined in bottom part, embroidered all over the cup and frame. Back of band is stretch mesh. Three hooks, no side boning. Straps are scalloped and fully adjustable. I got the bright blue with neon orange ribbons - it is a real true periwinkle blue.

Of CK's new narrow and projected styles, this is not reallyas advertised. This is some of the worst immediate projection I have seen. It is difficult to evaluate the rest of the fit properly because the whole cup is dragged out of its appropriate shape. I get bad upsidedown seven in my already one cup up size and while it accomodates my centre fullness as is, it is difficult to know if this will stay the same.

Made of super soft no-stretch mesh, lined in bottom part, embroidered all over the cup and frame. Back of band is stretch mesh. Three hooks, no side boning. It has a slightly shorter centre gore than I prefer. Straps are scalloped and fully adjustable. I got the peachy orange colour with pale green accent bows.

A lot of spilling out of the cup. Perhaps I need a cup size or two up but I suspect it's also a shape mismatch, because it was very uncomfortable and digging into my armpit.

I moved the straps inward by about an inch. This makes the fit almost perfect. The wires are abit wide and I am not fond of padded bras. The band is on the large size and so I don't need an extender. I like the height of the centre gore. It is fairly wide, which doesn't bother me, but I am impressed at how well this bra deals with my centre fullness and assymetry.

    • Just wondering how you moved the straps in - I have a few bras (like you with narrow shoulders) that fit in the cup, but the straps are so wide set that they chafe when I move my arms forward and sometimes fall off. Curvy Kate I find is not my "strap friend"... I'm happy too that I'm shaped like you are, so thanks for posting what worked / not worked for you!

    • I used Nesoa 's instructions for moving bra straps. It only works on padded bras, for me anyway. The only bra I am really happy with from a strap position perspective is the Gaia Annicka.

      http://dressingcurves.blogspot.ca/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html

    • Oh, that's interesting. In what way does it not work for non-padded bad for you? :) I've done a lot of both so if i can improve it in some way it would only be good.

The only bras i do not move the straps on are some of the newest @Curvy Kate bras as those are actually well-graded in my size range.

    • For starters, when Comexim and seamstresses move the straps inwards on non-padded bras for me, the shape of unpadded (and some padded) is shifted (see my Donna). The tension points on the cups are designed for the normal strap placement and I haven't figured out how to fix it - except to put a dart in the outsideof the cup just inside the wire, which pulls the straps wider again (see my Chloe).

Secondly, when they are balconnette style seamed cup (which work best for me) there often is no wiggle room for strap placement as the top part of the cup usually comes right out to the strap and is usually made of flimsiery material. I suppose it might work on half cups or maybe even some full cup designs, but the wonderful thing about balconnettes and how they fit is the seam work. Plus, I am relatively low set and I am on the longest strap setting on most bras so I worry about moving the strap attachment without the insurance of extra length.

I just got a new Empreinte balconnete that has straps set comfortablly for me, but has the same shape issue as the Comexims, only a great deal worse. I can correct the shape problem by putting in a dart in the elastic just inside the wire on the outer side of the cup, but this pulls the straps too wide! I am just posting some photos today of my Jasmine altered. But I have put a 1 cm dart in my Ornella today, which makes the shape perfect, but makes the straps dig in my armpits! I am so frustrated!

    • The tension point is always shifted, and the shape always changes. However, for some, when the strap is so far out, the strap will actually really just pull at the arm, so the shape will be closer to what intended with it moved... But yes, it will be more noticable on some bras.

I do think it might be a case of size though. Primadonna has never been an option for me since I started wearing bras that fit (reasonably well). In my size range there is usually always at least 1.5 cm to move the strap on, _if_ I attach it lower down, right where the flimsier part ends, but in the correct panel in the cup. But yes, then you lose strap length, which for me is no problem (I usually shorten the straps too about 10 cm when I'm on it)...

I should probably make a tutorial on how to just round out the armhole (which is the issue for some that are high set, it's just cut too straight and not round), and, how to use that extra fabric on balconettes without having to set the strap in the upper inner cup section.

      Thank you! :)

I can confirm that CKs need a cup size up!

This is a very supportive no-stretch shear mesh bra. Very pretty. Excellent shape. See photos.

Excellent immediate projection! Gore is very narrow at the top but gets a lot wider at the bottom. Outside edge of the cup from the strap to the wire is a bit wide for my narrow shoulders and cuts into the armpit, but the seam is very strong and relatively comfortable. The wires are still a hair too wide, surprise, surprise, but not too bad. Great fully adjustable scallop-edged no slip straps with leotard back. No side boning, but a good strong side seam. Band is normal for British standard and I need an extender.

Definitely the only CK I can wear so far.

Yuck. After taking an Ewa Michalak plunge off, this felt horrible. I'm definitely happier in a padded bra, but this was on sale so I thought I'd try a Curvy Kate unpadded bra. Big fat fail. A little snug in the band, but even if I would have used an extender, the gore and cups were much too far apart. The armpit area felt like I was getting my arm sawed off. The shape was incredibly pointy, which is the opposite of my liking. I remember why I stick with lined or padded bras!

This bra is gorgeous. The cute blue bow and the jewel in the center make me want to keep it, but unfortunately, it's wires are too wide, ti doesn't have enough projection, and the straps are too wide.

Wires: Too wide. Seem the right height, no pain after short term wear.

Gore: Flat but does not tack. Maybe slighty too wide, not painful. Height seems fine.

Cups: Not seeing wrinkling. Gaping where the straps meet the band and between my IF and the underwires. I adjusted it into the IF seconds ago and can feel it slipping as I write this.

Straps: Straps are too wide, but completely adjustable. Band appears parallel to floor.

Comfort: Underwire causes minor pressure pain after short term wear. With a Cleo Lily to compare too, I realize this is definitely due to projection issues. The 30GG Cleo Lily gapes, this has slight quadding on my larger boob.

i wear this bra when i only care about comfort, when i'm not gonna move around a lot, and when i wear clothing that is not tight.
because: it doesn't give me very good support, or shape. but it is very comfy, i have to say! not that pretty either imo, i think it looks a bit cheap with the colours and materials... but yeah this bra made me realise that balconettes are the best for my boobs!

this bra is really pretty (i have the yellow one). but sadly i don't think it's comfortable, the wires hurt me and it's too high in the armpit. the shape isn't very good either, kinda pointy and droopy from the side and feels a bit east-west. i barely use this one, but i bought it really cheap online so i kept it anyways, wouldn't have bought it if i had tried it on before though.

Decent bra, but not a great fit. The wires are a little too short for me to feel secure (I have a bit of empty space along the sides as well) and the bottom of the cups don't have enough space for immediate projection; creasing and sagging ensues. That being said, for someone moderately projected and even-to-FOT, this could be a winner.
