Move over BM Kleks, there’s a new favorite dark blue bra in town!
First off, this bra may be an exclusive bra to Forever Yours Lingerie in Canada, as I didn’t see it on Ewa Michalak’s website.
This bra is absolutely gorgeous and reminds me a lot of the BM Kleks. The bottom of the cup is a three part design with a dark blue lace over a black non stretch fabric. The upper cup consists of black stretch mesh folded over and doubled, with the dark blue stretch lace over top. Only the lace is at an angle so the black stretch mesh peeks out. Hands down love ...the cup design. The center gore has a dark blue fabric with fine black mesh overlay giving a diamond shape. There is a dark blue satin bow with a diamond pendant hanging from it. The band is a black stretch mesh with the dark blue lace over top. The back clasp is a 3x4 closure. The strap elastic is more of a shiny electric blue with the strap elastic being on the stretchier side. The hardware is black. There are bows where the straps meet the top of the cup along with hanging diamond pendants.
Briefs in size 38. I purchased the matching briefs in my usual size. The front panel is a darn blue fabric with the fine black mesh overlay. The side panels wrap around the the back leaving one center seam up the rear. The side/back panel consists of a fine black stretch mesh with matching dark blue lace overtop. The gusset is lined with a black cotton fabric. There is a dark blue bow with a diamond pendant on it. Read more 174 more words
I love this color and lace! Is the black fabric similar to the PLM fabric? I think it may be one of the models that sells through certain stores and not on the website. I saw it at Aphrodite's Closet (on Instagram) called SF Night.
WildWolff I just gave this bra and the PLM a look next to one another and yes, the black fabric on this bra under the blue lace feels like the PLM cup. However, the upper cup black stretch mesh on this bra is not as thick as the black stretch mesh on the PLM. I’m seriously in love with this upper cup pattern.
That's good to know, thanks! I like the fabric in PLM, it accommodates shape and soft tissue really well while providing good support.
WildWolff I agree. I like the support the stiffer fabric provides. So far this Night, Szaron, and Motyl are on the firm cup side, along with PLM.
I love the way the lace is sewn over the stretch mesh near the gore. I don't know why but it's just gorgeous to me. The attention to detail on ewa's bras always astounds me.
Gahhhh. This is so stunning! (Why aren't there more dark blue bras in general...?) This is beautiful enough that I may chance my arm and actually try to buy one, despite the fact that I have no idea what size I wear in Ewa bras.
marilynne Agree! I’d take one of these in ever color please lol.
berexxa I know right!? Blue is my favorite color, so best believe if I can get my hands on one that fits I’m getting it. It really is a lovely bra in my opinion. This particular one was pricy, but after owning Ewa Michalak bras for years I know the quality stands up.
I ordered this bra back on June 23rd, through Lavana Bratique. I just got this beauty in the mail yesterday! Oh man was that wait long lol. But we’ll worth it in my opinion.
I’m usually not a fan of red because red usually doesn’t look good on me. But since this bra has a lot of black, and I was in love with the undies, here it is. The cups are a bright red covered with black stretch lace. The upper cup lace runs a tad tight in my opinion, but should loosen up with wear. The center gore and rocker consists of bright red fabric with ...a fine black mesh overlay. There is a cute black bow with a dangly silver charm. The back band is made with a shiny black fabric and there is a black lace detail where the red with mesh overlay rocker meets the side of the back band. The back clasp is bright red with a 2x4 hook closure. The straps are black elastic with red zigzag stitching detail up the entire length of the elastic. The strap hardware is red and there are two black bows where the straps meet the cup. Flamenco is a very fitting name for this.
Briefs in size 38: What drew my attention to this bra was this pair of briefs. The front center panel is a bright red fabric with the black fine mesh overlay, exactly like the center gore and rocker of the bra. There is some thin black satin ribbon where the center panel meets the front hip portion, which consists of red stretch fabric with black stretch lace over it. There is a matching silver charm hanging from the center front at the waistband. The back of the briefs is my favorite part. The bottom layer is a bright red stretch fabric with a black lace edging. Over that is a black mesh overlay with black lace edging, shorter than the under layer so the red peeks out a few inches. There is a black bow with a red center at the top back of the waistband. The waistband is a nice black lace.
This set would definitely do nicely with some black lace top stockings and black lingerie robe if you want something sexy to wear *wink wink* Read more 277 more words
yea!! I love it! I was just eyeing this bra the other day on Levana bratique's website, lol. IDk, I prefer darker colours/thickers fabrics for winters anyway. This bra looks so good on you! Definite "bra win", lol : )
Thanks for a heavily detailed and thorough review as always! You're awesome! The flamenco is stunning on you! And the red compliments your skin tone quite well. You're so right about the panties! They're gorgeous. The flamenco is definitely going on my wishlist!
BraOdyssey I also love dark bras for winter. This is very lovely if you can get your hands on it.
marilynne The panties are amazing! I’m a huge fan of EM panties. They fit me so well I’m obsessed!
She does do a fantastic job on her undies! Most companies specializing in bras don't carryover into quality panties (e.g. comexim always having that elastic edging that digs and creates quad-bum no matter how much you size up, cleo always running small and again with the unflattering elastic edging etc) Ewa always uses mesh or lace and avoids elastic edging as much as possible, often favoring rolled seams.
marilynne Yes! That’s the best part, the behind! My rear is quite squishy lol, so I definitely appreciate a good pair of panties that doesn’t squish my cheeks into four haha. Totally agree about Comexim panties. I always size up now. I also notice that even then, the panties get wider, but not necessarily taller. Another feature I like in EM panties, she changes the over all proportions in her sizing.
I feel the same way with red. My 65FF - Ewa Michalak » Pl Milady (330) is similar but has more red. I do like dark bras especially with my work uniform being mostly black.
Congrats on another “bra win”! And thanks as always for your detailed helpful reviews :)
I think this shade of red is very pretty with your skintone! The lace overlay definitely has a vintage vibe to it. I placed an order with Levana in July and only got it last week! It was definitely worth the wait.
What a beautiful bra! The cups look to support you without gaping. It looks like a winner to me.. plus love the little bow and chain at the gore.
I’ve seen this bra on bra blogs in the past and always loved the print and design but, never actually thought I would own it because it was old news by the time I saw it.
This is definitely a granny floral though I love the colours. I like that it is not like the sexy boudoir stuff that they’ve been doing lately. I love the peach satin strip lining the cup edge and straps.
As for the fit…I had initially liked the S cut but when I was in between the 65FF and 65G I was concerned about the immediate depth and the very aggressive uplift. I ...avoided the S until I saw this one listed. This one is better. I think it’s maybe a bit deeper and my weight loss perhaps makes it fit better.
I do wish it had a set of cookies as I feel like it is borderline big for me now. I was down about 10 pounds when I got it initially, and about 15 pounds now. I feel like I could use the little boost. The band is fairly stretchy or stretched out. I can definitely get it done up a set of hooks in.
I do like this bra though. Read more 100 more words
The floral pattern has a very vintage look to it - it's very pretty.
Thanks carrythedollhouse . Agreed with the vintage which is probably why I like it so much.
I adore that updated vintage look! So pretty!
Thank you confused ! I have a matching pair of high waisted bottoms but they’re too large for me. The previous owner cinched the waist in some so they fit but, it’s not a full alteration so the proportions are still a bit off (I knew that they had done a quickie job on the bottoms so I was ok with that).
I had previously purchased the 75J - Ewa Michalak » Bm Koronkowa from my local boutique, and while it fit perfectly, I was not a fan of the beige color. I really wanted a green bra, but none of the US boutiques I found online had anything my size in that color, and Ewa Michalak's website doesn't exactly take credit cards. I ended up reaching out to my local boutique, and they agreed to order it for me, albeit as a final sale item. It took a couple months to arrive, but I finally picked it up last week. From EM's ...website, I expected the bra to be basically a green Ewa Michalak Bm Koronkowa (all stretch lace), but it actually ended being more like the Ewa Michalak Bm Kleks (861) , with a black tulle lining. The green lace looked more teal than emerald in person as well. Still very pretty, but not quite what I expected. Fitwise, it is very similar to my 75J - Ewa Michalak » Bm Kleks (861) , so just a teeny bit small in the cups the first day I wore it, but the gore tacked perfectly the second day after the lace stretched out a bit. Ok, I really drug my feet on ordering this because I wasn’t sure if I’d like the color/pattern in person. Boy would I have kicked myself in the butt had I passed this up. If you grew up in the 80’s, you’d know what I mean when I say it reminds me of the Lisa Frank stickers/folders that were popular lol. This by far has the best fit of the four bras I received today.
The lower cup consists of a vividly colored animal floral print over non stretch white mesh. The upper cup has a hot pink stretch lace over a white stretch lace. The center gore ...is a pink mesh with the lower rocker being the same animal floral print. There a sweet little violet colored bow on the center gore. The straps are made of easy stretch hot pink elastic with scalloped edge. There are little violet colored bows where the straps meet the cup. The hardware on the straps is white. The back-band is the same wild print with the inside of the band being a white stretch mesh. There is a hot pink clasp that has 2x4 hooks.
High waisted briefs in size 38. These panties are super cute, but run slightly smaller/tighter than other pairs I have in the same cut. The front panel is made using the same brightly colored fabric, with the side and back being hot pink lace. The underside of the hot pink lace is lined with white stretch micro tule. There are two small purple bows that are on the bottom near the leg holes where the lace meets the patterned fabric. There is one small purple bow on the top back. These give a wedgie fit, but are very comfortable. Read more 183 more words
I’ve tried this bra in a few sizes over the years…I tried the 65F and 65G with the former being a little too small and the latter a little too large. At the time I needed a 65FF or a 70F for a more comfortable band.
I’ve lost about 10 pounds since I got sick in January and I have lost a fair bit of tissue so, when I saw this 70E in the listings, I decided to grab it because my 65FF/70G BMs were both gapping. I have loved this fruit print and colours for ages. The 65F I had tried previously prior to weight loss was ...only a bit too small so I thought it would fit now.
The fit of this is pretty good. The straps are on the wide side which I am used to with most Ewas. The band is also a bit snug but, doable. I’m getting a small amount of wrinkling at the wire for not quite enough depth. The wire width is excellent, and because it is a smidge small, it gives me a pretty rounded shape.
I’ve got the matching bottoms and they fit pretty well too. I think that they are 38 but I have to go back to check.
All in all, it’s a great bra and a pretty good fit. Read more 114 more words
Wow, the level of disappointment is real. This is such a beautiful, delicate bra and it just does NOT work for me at all!
I’m hoping someone can clarify for me—obviously this bra is too small in multiple ways, but I thought Ewa Michalak bras were supposed to be good for projected breasts, especially the BM cut? Like I said, I know this one was too small, but my boobs tried to escape out the top. There is literally hardly ANY projection immediately at the wire, it’s literally all in the apex.
The band was so tight, *insert expletive here*. I thought my 75 Kris Line bands were bad? ...This was AWFUL. The best way to describe it is torture device, I couldn’t wait to get it off.
The gore doesn’t tack. Probably because the cups were way too small. I had massive empty space at the bottom and plenty of quadding because my boobs were trying to find room at the top. There’s also a lot of space next to the gore where my boobs just don’t fit into the bra, I might be too splayed for such a narrow gore. Speaking of narrow, wires are narrow, and I think too narrow for my shape.
I don’t know if it’s worth it to try going up a size (or 2?) based on how the 80J - Ewa Michalak » Bm Bibi Black (1000) fit, I’m worried I’ll still have the gaps and have bullet boobs like I had with that one.
Starting to think Ewa Michalak BM bras are *NOT* for me. *shakes fist*
I’m supposed to be getting an Ewa Michalak Pl Biscuit in the mail next week, and I’m nervous. I know lined/padded bras aren’t really suited for my shape, but honestly I’m having a hard time finding ANYTHING that suits my shape. It’s making me want to give up trying. 😞 Read more 207 more words
I just looked at the measurements (I measure in CM but have my Bratabase set to IN, and I don’t know how to convert CM to IN off the top of my head), and I noticed this band is 35”. I’m telling you, there’s NO WAY this actually stretches that far on my body, it was so ridiculously tight and you can see that in the back picture.
oh no. I just got a BM Suzy last night, and I love, love, LOVE how tight the band is! I'm not going back to loose bands. Would it be worth trying this one up a band, and up 1-2 additional cups?
addendum: I know most boutiques say, "Go up a band size" but for me, I don't go up a band size. I'm 30 UK and 65 band in Ewa MIchalak.
I think I might have to! I did a virtual fitting with Judy at Levana Bratique and she suggested I wear 80 bands for Ewa, but I really think I need an 85. I’be noticed that I should be wearing an 80 in Kris Line and those bands are waaaay stretchier than EM, in my opinion!
pretty_promise , I do the same thing, I always measure in cm.
I feel your pain. The EMs I’ve tried so far are ALL too tight in the band. I haven’t tried going up on the band yet because I’m worried the cups will be too wide. I’m using extenders for the time being. I hope you find one that works for you
would you try 85HH maybe? That's up one in the band, and up one in the cup (I believe)
Maybe it's just me, but the cups don't look terrible, only slightly too small?
BraOdyssey that’s the plan, I’m going to try it in 85HH. It takes so long for returns to process though, so it’ll be a bit before I can do that since I’m not made of money LOL!
I’m noticing bras that have very angular wires (Ewa Michalak, Nessa) don’t seem to fit my shape as well as ones with wires that curve the whole length (Kris Line). I honestly think if it doesn’t work out I’m just going to stick with Kris. 🤷♀️ If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
Oh no! I’m sorry you’re having such a terrible time with the fit on this one. It is such a pretty bra and I was hoping the padded straps would add to the comfort.
Let us know how going up in band and your PL work for you. I was thinking of a PL, but it being lined makes me nervous, too.
The saga of me posting bra reviews instead of writing my final papers continues...
This was my first BM bra, and I'm sad to say I really don't like it as much as my other Ewa Michalak bras. I'm not close-set, but I have a pretty bony ribcage, so high gores bother me pretty badly and this bra is no exception. I've never worn it for a whole day because the gore digs in so much. I have short roots, so the full-coverage style gives me some gapping (wrinkling, in this case) at the top and digs into my armpits a little. The cup fits well on my bigger ...side but is a little big on my smaller side. Despite the issues and discomfort, this bra is sooooo pretty! I adore the floral patterned ribbon detailing and it's just such a cute aesthetic. The fabric is also really soft and silky. I have the matching thong in a 36 (I have a 23.5" waist and 35.5" hips) and, as usual, it's a little saggy in the butt area/the thong part is just a little too "long" if that makes sense, but the mesh in the front makes it super sexy! I'll upload pictures of it when I get a chance.
I think if you like the BM cut, this is a great bra. I'm pretty disappointed that it doesn't suit me, since basically the only bras Ewa makes anymore are the unpadded ones. I have SMN longings, so I'm hoping that that cut's slightly shorter gore will work better. Read more 149 more words
Hmm, BM must vary slightly (not a universal pattern?). I just compared it to my BM Chilli (you can see pictures here https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dngbo/), and the gore on your bra 60G BM Pin-Up Doll is actually slightly taller taller than my 70F BM Chilli - one of the things I love about it is the gore, it doesn't bother me at all. Also, it's like a custom-fit bra for me. This was only my first one, but I'm a huge fan of what I bought!
sorry, I wrote the word "taller" twice.
too bad abt the bra, I wouldn't give up on it - I would get out my scissors and alter it, lol!
BraOdyssey huh, that’s interesting. I just whipped the bra out and grabbed my measuring tape to double check and I guess I’d put the gore at like 2.45”. The 60G BM bras people have logged on here seem to tend to have 2.4” high gores.
This bra is so gorgeous! I agree with BraOdyssey : if you feel comfortable modifying it, give it a go!
Becauseihaveto42 I would like to, but the most modifying I’ve done on a bra is taking in the band of a few bralettes and one real bra. I don’t have a sewing machine and I feel like I’d definitely mess it up!
Stop making me drool over discontinued bras! Lol. This bra looks gorgeous on you, thanks for reviewing!
You can email and ask if they can make you one of their unpadded ones in a padded style. I've done that and it's possible! This is a gorgeous bra!
5'3, 28G.5, FOT, tall and narrow roots, center full, projected, average to high set.
Look: Can you say let them eat cake!? This bra gives off serious Marie Antoinette vibes. The embroidery is so feminine and expensive looking! The previous owner removed the bows on the straps, and I must say it was the right call. The tulle is a teensy bit too dark to be a nude on me, but it works. Holy cakes on a plate, batman! Once everything is adjusted, and I've scooped and swooped, my boobs are up to my neck. AND THEY STAY THERE! I feel like Keira Knightley in ...any of her movies. Inhale, boobs up, exhale, boobs down (but not really). Oddly enough, the cups are open enough on top that I don't get any quadding, my boobs just go up and in, not over the top of the cups. It gives a slightly minimized and boxy shilouhette from the sides.
Fit: This bra is narrow and pretty projected. The straps are a bit wide set, but they don't rub my armpits, I just have to angle the straps in. The straps are also super long, they could easily accommodate someone lower set or taller than me, for the first time in awhile, the straps need to be adjusted to the top of my shoulders to fit properly. I'm usually super close to the end of the straps on my Comexims. There is slight wrinkling on the bottom and sides of the cups, but it dosen't really interfere with the fit. I've only tried 1 60 band EM bra (60FF SF Nibynic) and the band felt super snug (maybe due to the cups being 1-2 sizes too small?), and the other 65 bands I'd tried were quite used and stretched, I'd expected them to be loose. So I'd just assumed that EM bands ran small, wrong, this 65 definitely fits like a 30 and I have to start it on the tightest hook to get an almost snug fit. It's the only downside to this beautiful bra. I'm having a hard time deciding to keep it and buy some rixie clips or pass it on to someone else. If anyone has this or another HM in 60G or 60GG, I'd love to swap for this one or buy it, lol. Read more 281 more words
My next stop on my Toronto bra boutique venture was Secrets from your Sister, which is possibly the largest bra-focused shop in Toronto. I arrived in the middle of the day on a Wednesday, and there was no wait to be seen for a fitting. I told my fitter that I'm wearing a 28F nowadays in Panache/Cleo, and she started bringing me bras to try on. I am super lucky that SFYS carries Ewa Michalak, and so I was happy to buy this Bibi Perla to replace my old one (which is accelerating rapidly to the end of its life; it has become very stabby in the gore). ...
The appearance is the same as my older version, except that the charm on the gore is slightly different, and there is a slightly dark mark on the outside of the right cup (which, looking at my photos now, can't even be seen as it's hidden behind the Bratabase watermark). SFYS were the ones who brought the mark to my attention, and they were very upfront about being willing to give a small discount because of it. Other than this, the bra is in perfect, new condition.
I have always had great experiences at SFYS, but this time I was a little bit at odds with my fitter about what the proper cup volume would be for me. With this bra in particular, she first brought out a Bibi Czarny Tulipan in 28F. I tried it on, and although I wasn't quadding (due to the stretch lace), my breast tissue was pushed up unnaturally high, and I could tell that it was too small for me. When I told her this (and also mentioned that I own many other BM's, all in 28FF), she said something along the lines of, "I think the next cup size up will be too big for you, but we can try it". So then she brought out this, the Bibi Perla, in 28FF. When she came back to assess the fit, I pointed out how there was no wrinkling whatsoever, and my bust was sitting in a much more natural position instead of being excessively pushed up. Instead of agreeing with me, I think she just felt like she wasn't gonna change my mind, so she let me be. (She also felt like my Deco softcup was too big in the cup, but let that one go too). Granted, I am definitely in-between cup sizes right now, which obviously she wouldn't have known. A lot of my EM BM's are a smidge too large in the cup, such as my Puder and my Porto.
In conclusion, I was happy to get a replacement for my OG Bibi Perla, and although I had a small disagreement with my fitter about the fit, I am glad I stuck to my guns and came home with a size I know will fit me for probably the full life of the bra. Read more 384 more words
This bra looks like a good fit on you. How wonderful you could get your size in the Ewa Michalak bra you wanted to replace your worn out one! It's great you can recognize correct fit and such subtle differences between two cup sizes! Thank you for showing the snug T-shirt fit. This is always a concern of mine. I usually wear a seamless, lined bra because of seams showing through and, I feel, ruining the lines of some of my tops. This bra is basically a T-shirt bra for you!
I think it looks like a great fit on you. You know your body best, so glad the lady at the shop didn't try to pressure you. Glad you found a replacement for your old bra. Nice that you have a shop that carries EM bras. I'd kill for that around here. I think the closest shop to me that carries EM is like 12 hours away, lol. Oh well!
Looks great. I’ve been in the same position with sales associates (especially La Senza and the like who are all too eager to measure me when I say that they don’t have anything that fits).
She may not have been accustomed to fitting people in your size range with the BM style, which is obviously super popular with people in the very large cup range. If you fit a demographic that usually comes in looking for the lower-cut Ewa styles she probably has a mental image of the optimal fit they get in those bras, making her less receptive to what you were saying (or to the logic of realizing yeah it's a BM, they are fairly high coverage bras, it's really totally fine for it to fit you this way!)
I got my first proper fitting bra at SFYS! I had no idea they carried Ewa bras, I might have to plan a trip down to check things out. Thanks for the review. :)
This is my third BM, and second 70F, although I swapped the other 70F with another user so I don’t have it anymore. So now I have this one and my 65FF BM Cabernet. Both are full lace styles with knitwear bands, and the construction is basically the same. Lower 2 part cup with firmer mesh under the lace and the upper cup is stretchy. Aesthetics are slightly different with the bows and gore details.
This bra has a beautiful bright blue lace with beige mesh lining - I’m getting a pretty good skin tone ...match with it. The blue is hard to capture because it changes with the lighting, becoming brighter in some lighting and more of a cornflower blue in others. My pictures show a range of colours due to different lighting. It’s just your standard bows for the gore and straps. I personally have no problem with the gore bow, but I do feel that they are a bit big on the straps and would like to remove them. I prefer the loop bows that the Cabernet has, or even the smaller ones that are on the Sekret.
I find the fit of this bra is actually better than my Cabernet. The band is perfect. It’s not too snug or too loose - it is very comfortable. Obviously a bit smaller than a tts 32, but good for me. I marked it 29” but it could possibly have gone a little more - I’m just slightly more conservative with the stretched band measurements. My snug under bust measurements are 28-28.5” but I am definitely more comfortable with bands that stretch 29-30”. The wire width of this one is just perfect for my average to narrow roots.
I’m not getting any wrinkles at the wires like I do with the Cabernet. Immediate projection is fantastic. I’m not sure if it’s a size thing or if the Cabernet was really just a little bit wider and shallower than most. I do technically measure a 70F with the Ewa website calculator, but I don’t think wearing 65FFs would be a significant difference in the fit.
The cups seem like they are a little bit more rounded than the Cabernet, and I think it’s maybe the lace - I think it’s maybe a touch thicker - because they both measured about the same depth. If this is how other 70Fs fit, I’m getting more, though I do want to try another 65FF to see if I have the same thing as I have with the Cabernet fit or if it’s closer to this one.
I’m really happy that I swapped one of my bras for this one. I’m really so in love with this bra. It’s become a favourite one. Read more 364 more words
I just love the blue roses! Gorgeous! Congrats on finding a great fit AND a beautiful bra :)
This bra is so beautiful on your pics! I think the Cabernet is not the best BM to start with, the fit may be misleading because the lace si very soft and makes the cups seem like they're too big. I think this size fits you great and if the band feels ok, you can settle for the 70f.
Soooo beautiful!
So glad that it fits you so well. It looks really good on you.
Glad you found a BM that you like and that fits you great. It looks fantastic on you. I find that my La Gloria does that colour-changing trick too. So beautiful!
Thanks for the information vesela_krava! I had wondered about it.
I wore my Cabernet today and it is pretty but it doesn’t feel like this one. This one feels more supportive and better shape. I definitely think it’s the lace now.
Oh my gosh Calluna I'm just seeing your review, this is really beautiful!! What a wonderful fit!
Finally I'm reviewing this. I previously tried the 75K - Ewa Michalak » Sf Gładzioch Beż (849) and the cups felt too roomy and big for me, it wasn't as supportive. The band was also a bit big. So I decided to get another in 70K. This bra fits me quite well. The band is snug and tight (but not too tight) at the loosest hooks. The cups fit me well, there is no gaping. I really love how projected and round the shape is from the side and how narrow my boobs look from the front. They are not outside of my body like in ...some known east-west fitting bras. I even think that it makes me look smaller from the front, like I'm 2-3 kg less heavy. From the side it makes my boobs look a bit more round and full than some other bras. I think that 70K is the best size for me in this bra. Maybe a 75JJ would have been working too.
I love the color, it's perfect for my skin tone. Also the issues I had with the strap lenght are not so bad anymore. I still wear them on the loosest setting possible but they don't hurt me. I think it's because the band in this 70K is tighter and does more work than it did in the 75K and so the straps don't dig in as much. I still think that I could not do with any shorter straps in this bra. The wires usually don't hurt me too much which is a good thing. The only thing that could hurt a bit at the end of the day is the elastic edge on band, it does dig in quite a bit. The band itself is a stretchy lace and feels comfy but the elastic edge feels a bit tight.
The other "issue" I have is that the bra is a bit too open on top and the gore a bit too low to fully contain my boobs. Let me explain: so If I put on the bra everything is in place and If I don't run in this bra everything will stay in place but with wear my boobs move a bit more to the center and try to overflow the gore a bit. It does not look like real quadboob because there is the stretchy lace containing them. But the lace is very soft and stretchy and does not really hold my boobs too well. Also there is more "upper boob jigging" when I walk in this bra than in my very tall Bravissimo bras. Read more 331 more words
For the record I order 10cm longer straps in all my EM bras because they are just too short for me!
The SF style is a bit shorter than the BM, so if you want a bit more containment that style may suit you better. The BM also has more immediate projection which can be helpful with the fuller bust. That being said, the SF gives more support, so if you are jiggling more than you are comfortable with in it, the BM may not be the best as you most likely would jiggle more in it.
It looks like a great fit!
MamaPagan She also has minimal wrinkling at the bottom of the cups which I thought was a standard with this bra! So good to see
This looks great! So good to see something that works really well.
I can definitely understand with the upper-jiggle, but I've realised that, for me, if I get anything more rigid, it cuts in..I guess it's a mixture my soft boobs plus being full on top..
But I can also understand how bravissimo would be more appealing when it comes to containing all the breast tissue.
brasaremean. Indeed! That was a signature aspect of the SF. 😄
That looks great 😀
Looks really good! I wish mine fit me this well. I get the standard wrinkling at the bottom of the cup.
I come from a family of big bosoms but without the well-fitting bras that I can see here sometimes. The ladies from my family would never wear something as basic as a T-shirt as they feel they look too frumpy, dumpy, and ill-defined. So, I love the T-shirt shot where the girls are looking svelte, defined, and you with a waist. Keep up the fine fitting!
MamaPagan I think I stick with this cut if I'm going to order from EM again. I don't think a bra in my size should be less supportive than the SF, for me at least, I need all the support I can get from a bra.
Frazzleberry Soft full on top boobs are just so difficult to fit! I think we just have to make compromises. Do you still wear your Bravissimo Nina bra? My Bravissimo bras all have more fabric on the cups and are quite a bit taller than the SF. I wondered how both bras fit me but the SF is deeper and more projected. I also think that is why there is more movement, the boobs are not as close to chest than with a more shallow, tall bra.
alisa Understandable. I love the SF style, but also adore the BM -but you'd get more jiggle in it I'm sure.
Love this bra on you. It looks great!! Really, really great. I love seeing seams and lace patterns through tshirts. These aren't meant for running, for that you need a sports bra. But I understand if you jiggle too much when walking...my mom is soft on top and she says its like having a bowl of jelly on her chest :/
I have worn the bra again and I have to say that besides the jiggling and some slight center spill, it fits well. The only Problem I get is that after some time of wearing I feel the straps cut into my arms a bit. The cups are just a tiny bit too tall there and the straps too separated.
For me the straps take a bit to soften up. A was or two and couple of wears
Ewa bras (like many brands) tend to have the straight side to the cup outer edge, so instead of curving around the arm from the armpit to the shoulder, it's like it trys to go through it, haha. It can get annoying, but if you can loosen the straps it helps.
I think the SF straps are set farther apart than the BM. It could just be it feels that way because of the extra fabric triangle. That part always hurts me and hasn’t ever softened.
I don't like that the BM usually gives a quite pointy shape. I prefer the SF round shape. On the other side I'm curious and I would like to try a BM one day, to find out if I might like it.
Interesting, the BM doesn't give me a pointy shape and the 60Ks are too tall for me. It's more of a natural shape, I guess you could say.
I really tried to figure out the difference between BM and SF. So far BM is a weaker bra also it has less seams at the cup than SF. But both bras feature stretchy lace on top. Why would I choose a BM over a SF, what are it's benefits?
Bms in general to me are more comfortable and give a subtly natural shape while still having good support.
A BM has more stretch, so it's more "forgiving" - it will accommodate slight size differences better. It is also a "softer" bra, less structured. It also comes in full lace, which SFs do not. I did a photo thing a while back comparing my shape in each of the Ewa styles...I'll have to look for it for you. I generally prefer the SF too. I cook for a living and spend my days lifting heavy boxes and twisting and turning and I REALLY love their support...but I like BMs under lightly sheer blouses and especially for evenings.
The base of the SF is lined with a stiffened fabric for additional support while the BM is not, so the support difference goes beyond the seam structure (which I feel is more for shaping than support.)
The BM gives more of a natural (less rounded or lifted) appearance which some women prefer. It is also softer/ lighter and more airy feeling, with the straps being less of an irritant. While their placement is the same, since that outer strap wedge isn't stiffened on the BM, it doesn't bite the armpit as much as the SF does.
The wires on the BM usually are more U shaped, while the SF tends to house the lazy J wires the slope outward. While I have gotten them both ways, this appears to be the standard for each style.
The BM tends to have a higher gore than the SF as well, which affects the fit and comfort for some.
The other difference between the BM and the SF is the sizing. The BM is slightly more roomy in the cups than the SF, making it a better choice for those who are between sizes with the SF, where one cup is just barely too small while the next cup up is too big. The same smaller cup in the BM would fit perfectly for the person, making it the ideal choice. This sizing conundrum would hold true in reverse as well, making the SF be a better fit for those inbetween in the BM style.
While subtle, the differences are quite extensive!
The BMs are also a taller cup, so it actually might work out better for you since you need taller cups.
Thanks everyone!!! It is very helpful! I want to try a BM now. I don't mind a natural shape if it does not get too pointy or upside 7. I love U-shaped wires they fell more supportive and I also would not mind a taller gore.
MamaPagan Ewa recommends to size down in BM compared to padded bras. I don't own any EM padded bras. I have this SF bra in 70K which is a good fit but I have almost some overspill (it could be a bit taller ) and the 75K that is too tall and there is some gaping at the straps. I also find the 70 band better. BM Wenecja is my fave but there is only 70JJ or 75JJ left (I try to take advantage of todays 20% off sale) means a 75JJ could possibly fit more like a 75K when a 70JJ more like a 70K? I mean compared to SF fit. I also saw that BM Antonina is available in my usual size 70K and that bra is very well loved here, it has lots of reviews. I'm not sure if I like the white lace on beige that much...
AGBras is the whole bra made of a stretchy lace or only the top part? I get that the bras are usually lined with a thin beige colored fabric under the lace.
I would go with your SF size, which in this range will fit similarly but be slightly more spacious in the cucuin the BM (think no more than a quarter of a cup larger than the SF in the same size.) I personally wouldn't recommend sister sizing, as Ewa's sister sizing does not equal the same cup volume. (My 70JJ SF was smaller in the cup than my 65K SF, which was smaller in the cup than my 60KKs. Same held true with the other styles I tried in a 70 band first. 😬)
The full lace BMs are not stretchy on the lower half since that portion is lined with a thinner no-stretch material.
*cucuin should have been cup in. Darn glitchy auto fill phone.....
Omg yes I remember our conversation in another adventure: no sister sizing in Ewa... it is not reliable! I got carried away with the sale. Options in my size were limited and pretty bras in sister sizes were tempting, but I resisted and only ordered BM Antonina in my usual EM size of 70K and nothing else!
Wise choice! I love Antonina. I'm wearing it today in fact. 😄 I hope you enjoy it as well.
Yeah I'm very excited to get a BM bra finally! Antonina looked the best ouf of the options available in my size. Also I liked how everyone said that it does not show much under tops despite the lace looking quite bulky on the pictures.
The Antonina lace is thin and smooth, and very beautiful. A soft white with cream/tan within it. Very nice.
I love Antonina too. But mine is too small...think I will order it in an S in my size and sell my 65FF BM. 🤔
The S version was beautiful as well. It has a white base instead of tan if I recall correctly.....While it wasn't a mass release, it was made in a few select sizes.
I can't wait for my BM. I hope it will be more comfortable than the SF. Honestly, there are days when I love my SF glad and days where it hurts me so bad… :(
A few days ago it was the only bra that I had left to wear, but my PMS boobs where almost bursting out of the bra and it was a bit much with the movement. I had to wear a nude ahh bra and a loose fitting top over it to feel comfortable. (Note to myself… don't wear the SF with my "balloon boobs" as I call them)…
today I wear the bra again and the wires hurt me so bad and the straps cut into my arms and shoulders. The whole bra feels less supportive today. I don't know if it's because my boobs are too tall for the bra and I don't get proper support???
The straps on the SF are a killer to me. That stiff triangle piece + extra wide set straps just rub my tail of spence raw. The only thing you can do is hope that washing it a few more times will soften it. Did you wear something with the same shape wires 2+ days in a row? That's all I can think of on the wires.
I have the same issues for every style bra: there are good days and bad days for all of them. I think it's just part of life unfortunately. Hormone fluctuations are not bra friendly for sure.
When wearing wires that sit in the same place a few days in a row can cause wire sensitivity. That's why it's a good idea to have a style rotation to allow the pressure points to heal between wears.
For me, it is always worse if I am having an extra "slouchy" day, where I am basically forcing those wires into my rib cage. 😖
BM Antonina arrived and it is awesome! And... the size fits! I think I even like it more than the SF. Okay I need to wear it for a few full days yet before I say something like that but so far it looks and feels great. Thanks to everyone who talked me into it / recommended it to me <3
I wore the bra a few times over the last few weeks without any problems. No wire pain… Maybe it just depends on what I do and how I feel in general on that day. Also I have now more bras to rotate and that might make a difference. So each bra "hurts" in another place and it doesn't add up so much at the same spot like if I wear only the same 2-3 bras all the time.
More in rotation does make a difference for sure. Glad it is painfree!
OH MY GOODNESS!
Until now, I did not notice that scary underneath photo à la dbmamaz !! ;)
This is the bra that made me decide I really like the lace topped SFs. They fit me very similar to the BM and they're pretty comfortable! The wires on this are nice and narrow and stay put about as well as any other bra for me. The straps are a little wide set on me and can chafe during a long and busy day but they are overall pretty okay. The band is pretty firm and hasn't really stretched much since I've had it, but most of my Ewas don't. I get a nice round shape and the fabric is soft on my skin.
I've had no issues with ...dye bleed or lace pilling from this set, which is great! I love the little strawberry because it's different and the pattern is just very cute and youthful. I got the brief bottoms in a 38 and they are comfortable and fit well. They are of the loose leg type, which I like and they are a bit cheeky.
This set was offered as a limited edition exclusive through Forever Yours Lingerie. Read more 71 more words
Oh they’re so gorgeous!!!! Would love them in BM but I’m not gonna even bother to ask as the answer will be NO haha Looks like good fit overall
martka00 yeah, that's a hard no. I already asked lol But, even if they were willing I don't think they could. The patterned fabric doesn't have much give and it wouldn't fit right as a BM.
jlcl119 oh thats for the info on that! I'll definietly pass on them
martka00 sure! Kaska did say that BM is their best seller along with the SF so they have more of both planned. There will be more BMs Soon (tm)!
Oh hopefully as my last batch wasnt good at all!!! cannot wait for the turquoise one!
Same! That blue is gorgeous! There also seems to be a new bright blue one, a taupe one, and possibly a new pink one. I'm sure others that we didn't see on instagram also.
well, we will see after summer probably :D
What a fun print!
Thanks for your photos and the SF information!! CUTE :-)
What an awesome print!! Love the strawberry gore charm! <3
So cute! I hope they sell this soon too 😀
Another wonderful share, thank you!! Kaśka told me we should see another BM new release wave at the beginning of the year, including a pinstriped BM and some almost sheer ones, so I'm figuring mid January. Timed for a VDay release, so maybe that red polka dot one with be within that release as well...... :-D
And jlcl119 Are we supposed to hide our tattoos? No, wear them proudly I say!! ;-P
MamaPagan I'm really keen for the pinstripe one. I have both Charlie and Prohibicja and they're among my favorites still, I'd love to add a pinstripe BM.
As for tattoos, I don't think anyone needs to hide them or cover them; I just personally prefer the extra bit of anonymity that "erasing" them gives me.
So many fun colours/patterns coming out! This looks very cute and fun!
Totally understandable, of course! : -)
Amen to the tattoos comment...I've been thinking about it all day. If this was a panty or hosiery forum with thighs being shown y'all would be seeing mine on the daily lol
I'm looking forward to new releases. I'd like to see something blue - like sky blue.
This is a custom SF style bra, based off the Arlekin CHP but without the daisy lace trim, and of course with the addition of the top stretch lace. I was given the option of black or white upper lace, and I chose Black since I felt it would accentuate the black ribbons nicely.
Price was 299pln which at the time of conversion equaled 88.16 USD not including shipping. The standard CHP Arlekin price is 179PLN, so this one was 120PLN above standard, ouch. This was even more than the custom SF Porto, which had an 80PLN custom fee, though a higher overall ...price. This was part of my VDay present from my hubby, so I still ordered it.
Now for the measurements: All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band measures 21.75” and stretches to a max of 27”. It has 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12.25” 2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 14.75”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
The cup height is 9.75”, width 6.15”, gore is 4.5” tall and 0.55” wide, with a wing height of 4.5”.
As with SF Porto, I was worried about the cup depth since it is smaller than most of my 60KK SFs that are too small. Yet just like with SF Porto, this one somehow magically fits. The gore sits 1.5 fingers off the gore, and the cups feel like a good fit, a bit better than the SF Porto. The straps are wide set, like all of them, and the base of the cup has the SF signature wrinkle https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";-)" /> which is standard for the style so not a fit issue. Overall, I am happy with it, though I haven’t worn it yet aside for a few minutes for photos and fit assessment.
It is gorgeous and I do love the look! Read more 382 more words
Alright, let's start this wave of posts off with my first impressions of the BM Porto! I may or may not add a more in-depth review once I've worn and washed it a few times, but I assume it'll be very similar to my other BMs. First of all, I love the appearance! The lace is gorgeous, I love the silky patterned knitwear, and I love the jewel decoration. It's a rich, deep kind of black cherry or wine colour. Perfect for the holidays!
In terms of the first impressions of the fit, it does fit the largest overall of my new bras. It's snuggest on the second-to-last hooks ...(the band does feel quite stretchy), and the cups feel quite capacious. It's not measuring particularly large (from smallest to largest fitting in this size for me according to cup depth, smallest is Krokus, then Bibi Perla, then this, then Szafirowa Pantera, and then my Szmaragd in 30F), but the cups do feel fairly full-coverage. The cups are giving me a slightly peaked appearance right now because the apex is fairly high and the lace is slightly stiff, but I'm sure it'll round out more as I wear and wash it.
Overall, I'm super happy with this one! Stay tuned for more on my other new bras! Read more 106 more words
Ooooohhh...it looks great on you!! Nice with your skin tone.
That is gorgeous! I was close to ordering that one from Ewa with the sale in my size but I stuck with the Cabernet from Broad. Do you find it shallow at all or that it wrinkles somewhat at the wire? I have my pics up on my 65FF and plan to wear it today for a bit so I can do a proper review soon. I have not worn mine long term yet, as I did not want to test it out on a full day of work.
This is beautiful! I Love the colour and the fit looks great!
Thank you everyone! Calluna, unfortunately I'm not someone who usually has issues with projection at the wire, so I can't say for sure. In the short time I had it on, I didn't notice any wrinkling issues near the wire, only in the top section of the cup along the horizontal seam because of the aforementioned issues with the lace being stiff and the cups having a higher apex than me.
Sonya this is who I confused you with that had a BM Krokus.
It looks great on you!! Glad it's a good fit. :-)
I love this colour on you! So great!
Looks beautiful! And I agree with others... this colour does look nice on you! Would you say that your BMs have different apex heights? I guess I just always figured they were the exact same cut with every BM... (I hope the Antonia that I have coming doesn't have a high apex, because that won't really work with me).
Wilderness1 Now that I think about it, I do kinda feel like they're all slightly different. My Krokus and Bibi Perla seem to have a lower-apexed profile (and they're my two most shallow BM's in terms of cup depth; not sure if that would be correlated or not), and my Szafirowa Pantera and now this Porto seem to have a slightly higher apex, but that's more evidenced in the visual appearance and the feel than the measurements IMO.
I’m wondering if my Cabernet is also a slightly higher apex...
I’m wondering if my Cabernet is also a slightly higher apex...
This is simply stunning! I looks amazing on you.
opps *it looks
Thanks sherrach898 ..I'll know in a few weeks if mine fits or not. I'll have nothing to compare it to though, since it's my first BM. Thanks for the review.
@wildnerness I'm looking forwarding to your review. I also have my first BM on the way - and have no idea whether it will fit. Its so helpful to see others reviews
rachaelll totally agree! Especially when they're in the same size range.
rachaelll and Wilderness1 I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for you to get your BMs. 🍿
rachaelllWilderness1Calluna I am also waiting for BMs. 65FFs. I have Fluo and Antonina coming direct from EM and Wersal from another user. Also awaiting HM Sekret, SM Wanilla and S Pralinowy in the same size. Lots of reviews and fit data coming up!!
Interested to see how the 65FFs work for you AprilGoulding. I have my 65FF Cabernet pics and measurements up, but I have not been able to write a review on it much beyond my initial impression (in an adventure I wrote). Like all of my new bras, I want to wear it around the house or for short periods first, before an all day work shift. Only I’ve literally been in my pajamas for the last two days (my days off) and I don’t want to get dressed and go anywhere. I just wanna cocoon at home. I think that I might be coming down with something. I thought it might just be the pressure from the wind storms that we have been having, but I am not sure now.
My shape: semi-conical, firm, splayed, narrow width, tall shallow roots, size and shape asymmetry on right side.
SM Koralik is a coral colored lace bra with light peach bows. The edges on the top and bottom are scalloped with peach and silver thread. The band stretches to about 29.25” before distorting, and the cups are around 13.5” deep. This was measured by inserting my knee into the cup and only stretching the cup lightly. At this size, the strap width has increased from .75” to 1” wide. This feels a bit odd but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
My 60JJ SM Tattoo was feeling a bit tight, sliding, ...and giving me side boob, so I oped to try another SM in the next size up. I was nervous about doing so because there is a huge jump in cup depth from a JJ to a K cup in EM bras. I am not disappointed by my purchase. The shape that I get under a shirt is quite rounded, and I cannot see the lace through a thin t-shirt. I do have a bit of a wiggly fabric at the gore on the top edge due to the shape mismatch and super wide set straps. This is not noticeable under clothing and does not affect the overall fit. The wrinkling I get on my smaller side is pretty bad compared to the previous size down, but I don’t feel unsupported on that side. I have not noticed any sliding while wearing this bra but I’ve only been testing it for a few hours. This bra also does the same gravity defying slope like the SM Tattoo and BM Antonina.
If this bra is typical of the SM fit, I like this cut despite Kaśka telling me that it wouldn’t work well for my size. The only part I have a hard time accepting is the size on the label. Read more 210 more words
It looks amazing on you. I love the colour of the lace!
This looks like a great fit honestly. I don’t listen to bra manufacturers anymore.
It looks absolutely perfect on you! If the straps weren't so far over (& in turn forcing the cups off your boobs) I'm positive the minor gore wrinkle would be gone. You fill the cups nicely, and the color looks gorgeous on your skin. :-) <3
Looks beautiful!
This one looks great on you!
And on top of looking good, the colour looks so so good on you!
brasaremean Coral is not a color that I'd normally pick, but I had a dream about this bra. I guess it worked out.
At the height of one of my size changes (I was coming down from breastfeeding for about 11** (edited this. I can't recall when I first received this bra, but I would guess that I had it in heavy rotation for a year?) months at the time, I think?), this bra was the best fitting bra I owned. This SF was and is probably one of my favorite Ewa bras I have ever owned. The coverage was fantastic. Both my large and small breast were encapsulated to give a wonderfully rounded shape. It was a magnificent bra until I grew out of it. And then the wire snapped. I gave it a good, hard run, and it met all my expectations and more. Dying to buy another one, but I haven't found another SF that has worked, for me at least, as well as the Pin-Up.
Thank you for add this & for measuring it too!! :-) Yay!!
You bet! I figured it was time to add some measurements for people! 😘
And we are so appreciative of them! :-)
yaaay measurements!!! and a review!! Thanks for this ^_^
Oh shucks. 😊 You bet! Maybe when I have more time, I can write a more detailed review.
Wow, i dont think i've heard of an ewa wire snapping before. Honestly it makes me glad i stuck to a custom order instead of trying to wear the largest SF, last order. I never liked that model but it looks really cute on you!
It's funny, but this model is actually more appealing in person than in photos.
Ewa recently posted on her Facebook a bra she received from a customer to switch out the wire because it snapped. Anyways, the whole purpose of the post was to show the utterly disgusting state the bra was sent in (I don't think the thing's ever been washed).
But why I'm saying this is that in the comments she did say they will switch out a snapped wire robbeck19 , so maybe she would do yours as well?
If the bra is otherwise in good state it might be worth a try? Just make sure to wash it before haha so you don't end up on her FB page!
dbmamaz Very unheard of, I know. But I wore that bra ALLLLLL the time. And I'll be 100% honest and say that I didn't follow the correct washing procedures all the time. So it was probably just a "me abusing the crap out of it" situation. At the time, I think I had this bra and three other bras in heavy rotation? All Ewas: S mojito, SF Pin-Up, S Syrena, and SM Malinowy. Updating my mojito review now, but I actually had the wire come out of that one. The Malinowy's lace ripped a bit up top, but that, again, was me and breastfeeding. Scooping and swooping my tissue 10x or more daily didn't do good things for the bra 🤣😂
MamaPagan it really, really is. But I liked it in the photos too :)
brasaremean I saw that post! I wasn't sure how to feel about how they blasted their customer like that. I mean, I understand basic hygiene and such, but I thought it was maybe a little rude what they did? Maybe just a me thing again.
And because I saw that, I also debated it, but my poor bra is very worn, and I would most likely get blasted too 😂🙈
It's the Polish way (or rather the Eastern European way). I know something like this post would happen where I live too. I remember going for an EPL session and the lady who was blasting my hairs was also blasting the previous client (by name too!) about not showering for days before she came to do her bikini. It was entirely TMI.
Yikes. I doubt my insecurity and anxiety could handle it. I'll just stick to very late bra reviews via Bratabase where people can judge me from their computer screens 🙈😂
This bra really is a fun bra. The photos really don't do it justice. Thanks for adding your measurements and photos!
I agree with @robbeck19 That post was so not customer friendly! Yes, the bra was not in good condition but no need to publicly humiliate a paying customer. It's one thing to think it, or even discuss around the Ewa "office" but on FB for the world to see is going a bit far....
Yet, after strapgate, it doesn't surprise me, either.
But hey, we can all see that the bra was clearly well loved by the person who sent it to Ewa! Very very well loved. Ewa should see it as a tribute to the love of her products!
@mamapagan 100% agree with you. They probably lost the customer. I'm not sure I would buy from them again if they did it to me 🤷
Oh no, I agree completely. Just saying (and you can see by the majority of the comments) that that is nothing too unusual in this region. I don't think something like this would ever fly in the West lol
brasaremean Indeed. We are way too sensitive as a whole, that's for sure! Not that it's a bad thing though. I like being sensitive. :-D
Every so often I’ll second guess my size and buy one in a size down just to make sure, and so with the sale pricing I went ahead and got this one in both 60KK and 60L. All the data is worth it, right? ☺Besides, I do love getting the same bra in dual sizes at the same time to compare the differences better.
S Porto is a padded balcony bra, with light foam lined cups and removable cookies in pockets. In this size range there are 4 parts to the cup, 3 lower sections with two vertical seams, and an upper horizontal section. ...The color is a beautiful wine purplish-red with black accents. The lower part of the cups has a lovely satiny flower/leaf pattern while the top half is lace with a black satin ribbon between. The gore is lace and the wing matches the bottom of the cups. The band is a semi sheer tulle with a lot of stretch to it. Like with the BM, this one has a double diamond dangle on the gore.
All measurements are taken prior to trying the bra on to insure no figure is obscured by the body. I also take all flat measurements before taking the stretched cup then band measurements for the same reason.
The band measures 22.875”” and stretches to a max of 28.25” on the 60L and 23” to a max of 29.75” on the 60KK. Both bras have 3 hooks and 4 rows of eye loops. Since the band materials are the same, yet the stretch tension is different, I have come to the conclusion that the wires are different, with the 60L having a stronger wire that resists distortion better.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12.5” (60L) & 12.375” (60KK)
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 14.55” (60L) & 14.5” (60KK)
The close up photo of the cups and gore shows that the ribbon that goes across the cup horizontally isn’t sewn on tight, so it allows for the cups to stretch a bit more than some of the ribbon lined cups, but not as much as the cups without a horizontal ribbon. If that ribbon was looser or removed, it would have more stretch, but isn’t bad as it is. This ribbon can be problematic for softer tissue and small cups, as it will result in the dreaded in-cup quadding.
To compare the two sizes, 60L is only ½” taller in the cup and seriously only 0.05” deeper, but the top of the cup is more open allowing for more room for the “up” squish without quadding. The cup width and wing are identical while the gore is slightly lower on the 60KK.
As for fit, the bands feel stretchy and not as supportive as they should even on the tightest setting. The cups on the 60L are fine and full, but the 60KK cuts in a bit too much, so the more open top of the 60L was a good thing. I would prefer a 6” wire for more projection and less E-W side pull, but the 6.25” typically don’t feel horrible on Ewa bras. As usual, I still feel like I get more of an East West look with the padded bras, and this one isn’t any different. Under a baggie sweatshirt it really doesn’t matter though, so the 60L is a keeper. ☺
I also ordered the matching panties, which has the same satiny pattern material in the front, and a sexy sheer bikini style back with the same dual diamond dangle on the backside. The 38(10) measures 66cm flat to 89cm stretched, though it is supposed to be for a 91-96cm hip range, so it runs small. I requested these in a 36(8) but didn’t correct Kaska when she wrote up the invoice as the 38 (10), and in this case, I am glad as a size down would most likely have felt less comfortable.
Hmm..there really doesn't seem to be of a difference between the cup wise..I wonder if as you go higher in the padded cups something about the foam affects the construction? I don't see how..but I know next to nothing about sewing. But I guess, this is where the open top comes in handy?
Frazzleberry IMO the S just gets taller and not very much deeper on each cup size increase. It seems like KK+ cup that you get two vertical seams instead of one, which is nice.
Sovavosi oooh kk, I wonder why this happens though :/
The colour look great on you!
Frazzleberry I think Ewa has this idea that more projection should be directly under the chin instead of out front. ;-) Seriously though, the larger the cups vs band Ewa gets worried about the bottom of the cups being able to handle the horizontal weight of the breasts if there's too much projection, so she goes up instead of out. The foam is easy to crease and without reinforcement, any more projection in this band size would easily result in cup failure. :-\
I think she grades weird instead of adjusting the design when she makes these in this size range. There is still EM style depth and projection I guess but it looks like it's out on the side, as opposed where a 60L boob would need it. Notice how the apex of the cups is way further out than the wearer's--the cups are positioned and made in such a way that it is bound to create an east-west orientation, which a very heavy boob can only partly adapt to as you point out, because gravity and shape mean they want to fall to the center-- not fly out to the sides like winged monkeys! I think to really customize this to a very small back and very ample bust, the cup shape would need real rethinking, apex moved up and in, diagonal seam position adjusted, and at least one seam would have to be added on the inner lower quadrant of the cups to round out that portion of the cup and allow for the breasts to sit more centered on the body as they will inevitably want to do in this size range.
Quite true wendybien. If she opted for the 6" wires like she uses in most of her bras in this size range, I feel it would help as well. That would put a bit more depth out front and confine them better instead of encouraging the breasts to part ways, haha.
I now have a sudden desire to watch Wizard of Oz ......! :-)
Oh yes absolutely, the whole "EM is awesome with their narrow wires" selling-point is not very well-represented by her work in this range, these wires end quite far back, considering.
Beautiful colour and style. Are you high or low tide in the pictures? I think that the 60L is a better fit than 60KK, but if you're high tide then maybe it's going to be a bit better fit in low tide? Which one do you like better...the S or BM style?
if i didnt have 6 well-fitting bras i really might consider asking for that in an FB. but at this point i dont even want more bras in my drawer
Calluna I am at low tide, first day of my period when I took all the photos which is typically my lowest "bust" day for the month. The 60L should work for most days aside from highest tide day(s), and the 60KK shall be a "just in case I lose breast mass" back up bra & tucked away with the 60K BMs I tried earlier this year, so a valued part of my bra arsenal all the same. :-)
I prefer the BM over the S style hands down. I like the way they look on my body far better and the BM is all over comfortable to me. As Sovavosi stated a while back, S style puts the breasts on lockdown so they feel more secure but definitely make me look wider and I feel my boobs against my arms all day, making me hyper aware of them, while I don't get that feeling in the BM. (The PL style is the same as S, while SF is like BM to me.)
I do like the look of the S style bra in this pattern as the bottom of the cup is so beautiful.
I just need to stop trying the padded versions, but they are so pretty, I just can't help myself!!
@dbmamaz With the new sale today, you know you are tempted to buy though!! Great prices.....how can you resist? ;-)
@wendybien True, but Ewa 6.25" is still a whole lot better than the Panache 7" in this range. Honestly Ewa 6.25" feels a 1000x better than Comexim 6.25" which are a disaster on me. I know it's a domino effect in which the cup design is a major catalyst to failure, but I cannot figure out how to get Comexim to work regardless.

MamaPagan I find it hard to resist padded bras as well cause they are so gorgeous, but knowing how they fit me it's easier.
brasaremean I think I will resist the PL Zenith new release, but it is tempting. I will have to get the SFs & BM though! When the unpadded choices are plentiful it makes it easier as well. :-D
MamaPagan oh yes I have seen only fails from Comexim in this size range unfortunately. I think they genuinely don't understand the physics involved somehow--it's weird. What I don't get about EM is that I'm pretty sure she DOES know how this ought to be tweaked to make it work, so... why doesn't she do it? Is it because the customs would cost even more due to the extra grading and new patterns needed? I think she has a bee in her bonnet about people ordering ultra small bands and therefore has a mental block about working as seriously on adapting those designs for optimal support the way she does for large band/large cup for example.
You are so right with that one wendybien! Yet, if neither have a small rib big busted woman in front of them, it would be more difficult to envision let alone create. The closest would be Gosia (for Ewa) but her current size is 65HH which is a bit smaller that this. Honestly she often looks to be in the wrong size as well, but that is a whole conversation in itself.
With replies to my inquiries and orders I can gather that this size isn't that common and Ewa's general idea is if someone orders it, they are trying to force themselves into a smaller band/larger cup for vanity purposes. The smug replies did disappear after I sent bra on photos at each angle (including back) for both padded and unlined styles though.
Also I was told today that the "no" to certain style or model in the range is due to the seamstresses saying no, not Ewa. If they don't feel it will work, it won't be done. Yet as my wise and beautiful friend Sovavosi told me, you wouldn't want them doing something they feel incapable of doing correctly, and that is 100% true. :-)
The SF and BM styles are done beautifully in my range so I really can't complain! Seriously, they are spectacular, especially in comparison to the UK options.
After reading and thinking about seaming, I think one of the reasons why very large bust bras have vertical seams farther from center is because of the problem of center tissue. The gore divides the breasts into two and there is only so much room horizontally to place the breast if you are narrow rooted. The only way to work around the gore is to literally have the cup come into the center around the gore, like this: )(
At least that’s the way it is with me. When I lift my breasts they look like this: ( )( ) so I assume that for that tissue to really be held at a natural position the cup would have to be sewn to allow for this.
Maybe this is just me because of my omega shape but I do know that a lack of stability in my bras is mostly due to a lack of center room, and that almost none of my bras have the s center room allowance. Unless a bra is very plunging (more so than any bra on the market in my size), I’m going to have to deal with this lack of center space. I wonder if there are any really large cup bra makers that deal with this problem well?
Sorry, totally off topic, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot so wendybien’s comments made me muse.
You are spot on in your experience and theory cupandahalf. My breasts do the exact same thing when I support them with my hands, so it's not just an omega shape issue.
Some day we all just need to take a Poland road trip and offer our breasts to Ewa (& Comexim) for templates and scaling assistance. When we win the lotto, it is so planned!! Passports and plane tickets all around! :-D
Can you imagine how dangerous a Bratabase bra company could be? With the consolidated mind power we have here, no other brand would stand a chance. LeProfessor can work on implementing this plan :-)
This is my first time buying an Ewa bra, and I wanted to wait a bit before writing my review on it. I loved the look and fit when I first started wearing it and after wearing it for a couple months now, the love is still there!
My breasts had gotten bigger and I was desperate to find a new bra, but wasn't sure I wanted to spend the crazy amount for this bra that Ewa was asking for. But im beyond glad I did. It has done an amazing job supporting the full weight of the girls and keeping them in place. I move around a ...lot during the day and I'm glad I don't have to constantly adjust the straps or adjust my breasts back into the cups. The band isn't too tight and the straps aren't digging into my shoulders like previous bras I've owned.
I'd definitely recommend this bra to anyone, ESPECIALLY if you're a larger cup size like me, cause we need all the support we can get, and I get it from this bra! Read more 73 more words
Thank you so much for your excellent review! It would super helpful if you would add the bra measurements, not only for other members but it helps to strengthen the database. Many of us rely on surrounding size measurements during research so each and every bra measurement is extremely helpful. Thank you! <3
MamaPagan of course! I was planning on adding the measurements as soon as I got home. I just figured I'd type this up while I had time and while it was on my mind.
Thank you!! :-)
i'm wearing an FB today too - amazing fit and support! The first bra I've not had to adjust during the day - well, maybe the floris, when I was a 32J, but not since then (i'm only in a 75KK, the smallest one, but still love it! so much that I dread losing weight lol)
Please please measure! I’m in this size range and Ewa’s sizing is so strange in the FB. I’d really like to know which sizes to try but I have no idea where to start.
My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots. Appearance: Very well-constructed, shiny satin beige bra with stretchy lace top of the cups. I love the little pearl charm at the gore, but it could be an issue showing up under shirts. The fabric is really smooth and soft! This is perfect for hot summer days. I included pictures of me wearing it under a light blue tank top so you could see that it doesn't show up underneath light colored tops. (Except the strap where it sticks out. Not much I can do about that, hah!) Fit: I've had mostly successes with the BM styles, and this one is no ...different. It's the first half satin, half stretchy lace style I have tried, and it fits quite well. As always, I have issues with the fabric and strap digging into my armpit on one side, so I will probably move the elastic over so it isn't as bothersome. Overall, for a "plain" beige bra, this one is very nice! I ordered this one from Levana Bratique; she calls it the "Tulip" bra.It seriously only took two days to get here once I ordered it. I love that I can get Ewa bras so fast in the US. Read more 98 more words
It's the beige one! When you mentioned Tulip, I assumed it would be Tulipan which is the black one.
Do you find this one to be more comfortable than the full lace BMs? For me these half lace ones have been every time.
It looks like a great fit, so woohoo! :-)
MamaPagan I haven't worn it much longer than a few minutes yet, but it felt really comfy! I'll wear it all day after I move that pesky elastic strap over, and get back with you. :)
I eagerly await an update :-)
This was one of the first Ewa's I owned (but in 70J, I think) - I loved it and was so sad when I outgrew it
I love this color and lace! Is the black fabric similar to the PLM fabric? I think it may be one of the models that sells through certain stores and not on the website. I saw it at Aphrodite's Closet (on Instagram) called SF Night.
