ABOUT THIS BRA An unpadded, seamed, nearly full cup, underwire bra with top stretch. This is the “Full Coverage, Side Support” model (3091), not the discontinued but still available (as of July 2019) “Average Coverage” (3090) model.
Purchasing: Purchased in sand for $58 using Amazon Wardrobe (also available with free Prime shipping & returns). Available in black, white, beige, and pink only – all in a sheer/opaque stripe.
ABOUT ME: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts * average projection (not shallow or very projected) * average-set (one finger width of space between breasts) * ...wide roots (extend to the mid-axillary line) * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full) * short root height, average vertical placement * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away) * conical shape (but will squish to round) * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame * front (anterior) rib flares
FIT:
Band stays in place with wear. Underarm area looks good until I move, then flesh escapes over top of wing.
Gore is comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine.
Straps are too wide-set and slip with movement, even when adjusted rather tightly.
Cups: Wires enclose all breast tissue and keep it inside the cup (despite soft wire, thanks to a very snug band). Wires are almost too wide -- only full under arms because shallow cups are pushing boob into the armpit. Upper cup is smooth (thanks to stretch lace) but too shallow at apex and at wire. Very snug band keeps wires from being pushed down. Outer edge of cup cuts into tail of Spence - ouch! Cups round breasts and provide some lift (side-view) but a wide (east-west) shape (front-view).
ASSESSMENT & PLAN: * Tried this size (30FF) because in the 32F the band & cup fit but cut into the tail of Spence. So was hoping that a smaller band with the same cup volume would be more comfortable. * Unfortunately, the shorter band stretches the wires giving the cups a shallow shape. Too shallow for me. And didn’t fix the cutting into the tail of Spence. STOP. * I was so disappointed that this didn’t fit that I forgot to measure it before returning. Read more 303 more words
I tried the 36HH - Fantasie » Alex Side Support Bra (9152) before and enjoyed the comfort level and low wings. This Estelle brings the same benefits. The cups are a mesh lace top and bottom with an embroidered flower pattern throughout. Not fancy, but looks nice. The bottom cups are lined with a soft and smooth opaque material (nylon?) The straps have a ridged pattern along the top and are felted on the bottom side for comfort. The wings - ahh, the wings. They are low and the armholes are cut roomy so there is no chafing, cutting in, or poking, which is becoming ...my main criteria practically the more bras I try on. I found the band somewhat stretchy and could fasten comfortable on the second set of hooks. I usually size down to a 34 band with extenders for this reason (lots of squish). The only think I found a little uncomfortable was some scratchiness along the outer bottoms of the band from the material. I assume this would soften with a few washes.
I found it interesting to compare the Estelle to the Elomi Morgan, which is also a side-support bra. First, the side panels. The Morgan's are at least an inch wider than the Estelle's and take up about half of the real estate of the cup in the side view. Estelle's take up maybe a third, but this didn't seem to cause any east-west action. The bottom cup of the Morgan is quite a bit roomier, while the Estelle's top cup is taller. This (on me at least) gives the Morgan a more uplifted apex - the apex of the Estelle was straight ahead with some helpful adjustment, but often a little down. It's a natural look, but verging on the upside down 7 at times. I'm not a big fan. This Estelle was small in the cup on me, though - gore didn't tack - so maybe a larger cup would give a better shape. I'll find out, because a 34J is arriving Friday. Read more 236 more words
Very east-west looking. Not a fan. The band also ran pretty tight, but I'm thinking I fit more on the end spectrum of a 32 band. Just wasn't a good fit for me.
Purchasing: * $58 on Amazon with free Prime shipping & returns (no Amazon Wardrobe in this size) * available only in black, white, pink, and beige
Band: * One layer of a thick, stretch, opaque knit. * Elastic at top of band. * Wing support: soft seaming. * Continuous band - wires lower than wings. * Back close with 3 columns of hooks. * Hooks are padded.
Straps: * elastic has lacy edges to help prevent slider from moving * very soft (don't stand up on their own) * full adjust * leotard back
Cups: * 4-seam (5-piece) half-cup * unpadded, flexible underwire * Top edge is unlined stretch lace. * Lower horizontal panel is a (2-way) stretch opaque/sheer striped knit lined with a (1-way) ...stretch mesh (horizontal stretch only). [Note: This is a different construction than the same model in a 32E. In the 32E, this is constructed with a NON-stretch opaque/sheer striped knit and lined with NON-stretch mesh.] * Rest of cup is a stretch opaque/sheer striped knit lined with a non-stretch opaque knit. * Soft cups (no padding or molding).
Fit
About me: petite with wide horizontal oval, slightly conical breasts * average projection * wide-set (3 fingers width of space between breasts) * very wide roots (extend past the mid-axillary line) * even horizontal fullness (just barely outer full) * short root height, average vertical placement * mix of firm & soft tissue (front molds to shape of bra, sides push wimpy wires away) * conical shape (but will squish to round) * full on top (2/4 shape, not even or very full) - BUT functionally even to FOB due to short roots and soft tissue * petite (5'3") so have narrow frame * front (anterior) rib flares
Band: * length: stays in place with wear * wings: good height * slight axillary skin spillage
Gore: * Comfortable, tacks, good spacing, height fine. * Gore is quite high, but not uncomfortable during wear. However, do NOT put on bra by hooking back with cups upside down then flipping cups up. The tall gore snaps up onto the sternum with a loud and painful smack. So loud that my daughter heard it from the next room!
Cups: * Give a pleasantly round, projected shape. * Wires enclose tissue nicely. * Top of cup smooth on larger breast. (Slight wrinkling on smaller breast.) * Bottom of cup filled -- looks really good.
Straps: * Feel too far apart, but don't feel in danger of slipping. * adjust short enough
Appearance under Clothing: * Seams visible under thin T-shirt. * Top edge of cups visible under V-neck. * Very visible in armholes of sleeveless shirt.
Extended wear test (a few hours, working at the computer writing reviews for Bratabase): * Band feels slightly tight, but comfortable. * Breasts push wire down ever so slightly, but not uncomfortable. * Straps didn't budge. * Breast stays inside cup (doesn't escape under wire). * Cuts into tail of Spence -- a deal breaker. Tried loosening the straps to ease rubbing, but didn't help and made straps slip. Bummer.
Comfort & Fit Summary * BEST FIT SO FAR!!! (Of nearly 100 bra styles/sizes tried.) * Why is the band of the 32E too big but the band of the 32F on the tight side? (Color? Beige 32E, white 32F) * Cutting into the armpit only obvious after a few hours, but no way I could comfortably wear all day. * Tried with a extender: Band now not supportive, straps slip, and didn't help rubbing on tail of Spence. SO CLOSE. Read more 447 more words

The two things I love about this bra are its softness and the low wing height! The white colorway was perhaps a bit boring, but quite comfortable. The gore wouldn't quite tack on me, so I would need to go up a cup size. Maybe I could go down a band size, too, to see if that helps keep it up in the IMF. The shape is not great - too east-west with not enough side support for my outer heaviness.
This bra is absolutely stunning. It’s described as having gold details, but personally I would describe it as more tan and bronze-definitely not gold. The lace has such a soft and subtle shine to it, with just a tad of stretch. The bow in the middle feels cheap in comparison to the rest of the bra, but it looks ok. There is nice side support in the cups. No stretch in the cups at all except for the lace top.
I was worried about this bra not having enough projection so I ordered my typical size of 30DD and a size up of 30E. Projection doesn’t seem ...to be an issue at all, I would describe it as having decent immediate projection. I cannot fill up this 30E at all; I suspect in the 30DD(which I haven’t received yet) I will still have wrinkling up top, as my short roots typically can’t fill most bras, especially full cups, but that it should fit me much better than this 30E. This bra is beautiful enough to be kept at least as a bedroom bra even if it doesn’t fit perfectly in my usual size.
I’m no expert by any means, but I feel like a full round breast would fit this bra wonderfully. Read more 107 more words
Soooo pretty!! I tried a Fantasie allegra in 30E and I found it fit nice and projected and more like an F also
Oh my god! This is the one that I tried on Friday that was such a huge fail for me! I had no idea what style it was. Now I do. I’m glad that it’s good (better) for you.
Ahh Calluna I’m sorry it was a fail! I hate when I fall in love with a bra, only to receive it and it be a fail :-( I’m hoping the smaller size is a better win for me. They also make a balconette style but since it’s a thin foam I’m guessing it’s probably shallow and not worth the time. I’m a bargain shopper so I’m afraid of investing in an EM(well investing in the shipping) only for it to fail.
It was the bit of elastic that lined the top of the cup that was the biggest problem. I had the same problem with it cutting into my tissue regardless of the size (I tried a 30F and 30FF). The cup was also a bit too tall. My roots are taller but also shallow so the elastic cut into the taller roots but was simultaneously looking for fuller and/firmer tissue on top.
I want to preface this review by saying prior to my 30LB weight loss and while I was still breastfeeding, a 32FF fit my much different than this 30DD. Some of this has to do with my breasts being less full in volume now, however it also seems like the smaller size fits different than the larger.
The band runs a size larger than I like. I need to hook it on the tightest hook to get the fit I like. This cup runs too small so it seems shallow, yet it has decent-okayish immediate projection. Going up a cup size would work great if ...you have the fuller upper breasts to fill the cup completely. For me, going up a cup size would just create empty space at the top, whereas right now because the cup is too shallow the top of the cup just can’t sit right on my breast. My small roots and soft breasts could not “fill” the top of the cup—sorry, it’s hard to explain. Sadly, this is just a complete shape mismatch. What a shame because this bra is absolutely beautiful. I guess it’s going into my bedroom only stash.
Aside from the fit issue, this bra is absolutely stunning. Dainty. Feminine. Sexy. Well made. Beautiful details. Read more 112 more words
It would be super helpful if, when you have the time, you could measure your bras and add that data to the database. A lot of us really benefit from the data, not just for researching bras within our own range, but also for finding trends within models, styles, and across the sizes. If you could add those measurements, we would be super grateful! Thank you!! :-)
Oh yes definitely! I do my best to get the measurements up, I just haven’t had the time as of lately to measure. I will get these up as soon as possible :-)
I'll probably start a fit request for suggestions once I take pictures, but I found this bra too tall in the wings/sides of cups for me. I'm only 5'2" and it was digging into my armpits and that chubby part between your boob and your armpit (is there a name for that?). I had some wrinkling in various spots depending on how tight/loose the straps were, which I expect with my boobs, so overall the fit wasn't perfect on me, but the cup separation and band size were spot on. I love the soft cups, and think for a taller lady, this bra would be a fantastic every day bra. A note on the straps: As I said before, I'm short; and I had the straps 2.5" from their maximum length. They are stretchy and fully adjustable, but if you're really tall, you might find they're not long enough or dig in.
I find myself reaching for Alex a lot because it is incredibly comfortable. However, this bra does not fit. There are many, many issues with it for me, most of them, I believe, stemming from the fact that my breast tissue is very very soft.
Usually 32 bands work great for me, but it's something about the fabric they used for this band that is weird. Some days, it will work fine and not ride up on loosest hook, other days, I have to fasten it on the tightest hook. Most days, I wear it on the middle hook. The band stretched out fairly fast, I'm talking within hours.
The ...cup is really sturdy at the bottom and has great lift. It has three vertical seams on the bottom, with the most outer one going all the way to the top (the side support feature), and a horizontal seam where the lace connects. That being said, the cups will give you more of a east-west than front and center shape. This doesn't bother me with Alex. It looks pretty nice and has a somewhat minimising effect. The 'side support' seam will cut into my tissue when I lift my arms, and give me some vertical in cup quadding, lol. The real issue with the cups for me is the lace. It's non-stretch tulle with beautiful geo embroidery. Unfortunately, the change of tension between the lace and embroidery makes for the weirdest cutting in I've ever seen on me. I believe on firm breasts this bra fits beautifully. On mine... not so much. The cups are also a little too closed and on top of lace cutting in (even where it fits), I get some quad boob (especially on my larger side). I highly doubt any of these issues would be solved with going up in cup. That being said none of this is uncomfortable, just doesn't look good and is very very obvious under anything but thick sweaters and hoodies.
The shape of wires I do love. It must be in the way Fantasie does wire channels but holy crap they are comfortable. The gore is really wide and tall. I do find that the very top will sit on my breast tissue at times, but not after I do the gore scoop and swoop. I can see this being a problem for pretty much anyone who doesn't have at least 2, maybe even 3 fingers between their breasts.
The thick straps are very comfortable, and I can adjust them as long as I need.
So overall, even if Alex doesn't fit, I still wear it whenever I don't feel like fussing about my looks. It's just so comfy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />. Because of Alex, I've bought two other Fantasie bras trying to find a similar fit, minus the weird cutting in. Unfortunately, that did not work. Read more 365 more words
This bra is definitely not the right bra for me. The biggest issue with this bra is that the cups ride up into my armpits and cause painful skin irritation. Also, the band does not provide enough support, so the entire bra shifts right after I scoop and swoop, at which point I am no longer filling the cups, and of course, the painful armpit thing. The quality of the bra doesn’t seem promising, already, I see loose threads coming out of the seam and the band seems to be losing its elasticity after a total of only 3 days of wear. On a positive note: I do love the “edgy”/not-so-frilly style of the bra. The center decoration is a simple triangular cutout shape, which is different from the usual bow, flower, or rhinestone most bras have. The pattern is simple, yet sexy, and the fabric isn’t itchy or overly lacey.
My shape: full on bottom, soft tissue, narrow shoulders/roots. Special thanks to MamaPagan for sending me this bra (and many others!) to try on! Appearance: This is a 4-part cup, with 2 vertical seams on the bottom and one horizontal seam along the top. The top edge is black mesh with embroidered white flowers with a thin piece of black elastic on the top edge. The cup and strap fabric is black with white and gray floral print. with the same print going about halfway up the straps. Fit: The cup size is too big, so it's hard for me to comment. I will say I liked the feel of the band; it's nice and tight, with just enough give.
This is a comfortable bra, with pretty good immediate projection, but not great lift or upward support. The gore doesn't tack, but at least I don't have any quadboob. The band is very stretchy, I tried this also in 38 band and it was too loose. It gives decent support for my pendulous breasts, but the cups are a little too wide with empty space at the sides, so the shape isn't as lifted, more east-west and a little saggy (natural for my boobs). Some wrinkling in the bottom of the cup - almost like I am not full-on-bottom enough to fill out the cup. Comfortable to wear, but the shape it gives is not ideal for me.
Zoe in 30J I am adding this bra for data/informational purposes only. This Bra is not owned by me at the time of addition to the database.
Zoe is an unpadded underwire side support full cup bra. It is available in a variety of colors depending on the year of manufacture, and I got this one in black. The cups separate the breasts, pushing them to the side, while providing full support. As with most bras that push the breasts to the side, it does create a minimize effect, making the breasts appear smaller than they truly are. The lace on the top of the cups is super stretchy, making ...this a very comfortable bra. This particular style goes to a J cup and runs small, at least in black.
The band measures 25.5” to a max 30” with 3 hooks and 3 rows of eyes. The straps on this one are perfectly spaced which is an amazingly wonderful find.
Cup Depth as measured by: 1 Hovering the cup between the knees, then placing the tape measure into the cups without any resistance. This measurement is: 12”
2 Placing the cup over the knee and stretching it similar to what a breast would, to the maximum resistance. This measurement is: 14.5”
I feel these two figures give you a general idea of the minimum and maximum depth that the cup can accommodate, just like the flat and stretched band measurements do with bands. Since Bratabase only has one cup field, I enter the larger of the two, as it’s this larger number that determines if a cup is going to fit me or not since I am on the max end of the cup scale, but do realize that some may need the lower number to determine fit for their needs, so I will always include both figures in the reviews for full disclosure.
This depth wasn’t quite big enough for me and resulted in a bit of quad boob/minor spillage at the top of the cups, but it was super comfortable. Overall, this one fit like my 30HH Joanna bra. Ironically Amazon reviews at the point that I purchased this bra, stated Zoe in Black to fit as expected 60% and somewhat large 40% with none stating it ran small. Based on my other Fantasie bras, this one runs small in both cup and band, but others did not experience this.
Personally I love the support this bra gives and just how comfortable it truly is. I really wish it came in a JJ cup, as I’d jump on that in a heartbeat. This would be my favorite Fantasie bra of all time, even though I am not a fan of the minimizing effect. The comfort and support are that good with this one.
The Great Amazon Prime Wardrobe Try-On, Pt 2! My shape: FOB, narrow roots/shoulders, soft tissue, 32G (though I'm thinking maybe more 30G since a lot of these 32 bands are too stretchy for me!) Fit: The cups are too large, mostly on the top. If this had stretch lace on the top of the cup instead, it would fit a lot better. The fabric and straps dig into my armpits just a bit, but that might be because the cups are too large. The feel of the band is nice and firm. This might fit better for some who is more FOT, since the cups are more open at the ...top, though it is quite projected. Appearance: I'm generally not a fan of white floral bras; this wouldn't be my first choice. It's really pretty, however, with the pinkish red roses. The straps have this weird lined fabric on the top, which I think doesn't really match the whole feminine/floral scheme, but that's just me being nitpicky. Overall: I wasn't even going to try Fantasie with this Prime Wardrobe order, but I had one spot left so I just threw this in my cart. I'm glad I did, because I think I'm going to try some different size/styles of this brand.
Thanks for your measurements. For some reason, I have not tried Fantasie yet. But, my wire intolerance makes me hesitant. ;-)
I've only tried swimsuit tops, and they gave me a super weird shape, so I was definitely hesitant, as well. I love this Prime wardrobe option though; it's nice to be able to try on all these different styles/brands without having to shell out a bunch of money! (Big props to my sister for including me on her Prime account, hahah!) Now my pipe dream is to have Amazon someone offer Polish bras, and also include those in the prime Wardrobe. Here's hoping.
I bought this bra in a 36FF about 18 months ago, almost at the beginning of my ABTF search. It was so pretty but much too big all over. I was still learning about fit and it was not a good choice. My friend was very happy to receive it and I moved on to purchase many more bras that are most likely also not a good fit.
However, I keep seeing this one on Amazon and loved the raspberry colorway. It was only $35 so I took a chance on the smaller size. It is still as pretty as I remembered the first one and also does not ...fit. The band is large and I would have to start it on the second hook. It sits below my IMF, the bottom of the band is itchy and the straps seem excessively long. The cups mostly fit but the lace on the cups is loose and wrinkles. Idk where the side support is supposed to be happening but it wasn't noticeable. It's an all over funky fit!
There are two issues with this bra. One is the size and/or shape is wrong for me but I think the real issue is that this is an irregular or factory reject bra that was wholesaled to resellers. It's on the way back to Amazon and perhaps someone else will find it to be a perfect fit.
edit: this bra no longer fits, and the cups have always been way too wide.
---
I love this bra.
The good: - Side support gives awesome projection. - No bouncing, even when e.g. running down stairs, shaking cocktails, jumping up and down. - The straps don't sit extremely wide on my shoulders. I can actually wear this bra under a tank top! Plus the straps are thick and comfortable.
The bad: - The top edge of the full coverage cup can be a little snug for me, and I'm even/slightly full on bottom, so beware if you're full on top. - This is more a note than a bad thing. The underwire is really wide; I think this is because of the side support thing. So while the far side of the wire won't sit at the root of your breast, it's not uncomfortable and and your boobs don't fall into the side part of the cup or anything.
I love love love the slate color on this bra. It feels young and pretty and a step away from my blander bras. This bra has a lot of side support and pushes me forward in the way that I want. Only 2 hooks in the back which I thought I wouldn't like but it doesn't seem to be a problem.
Soooo pretty!! I tried a Fantasie allegra in 30E and I found it fit nice and projected and more like an F also
