The first time I went to a local bra boutique, there were Fantasie posters everywhere...I fell in love with the prints and embroideries. But, they never had my size, so I couldn't try one and then I kind of forgot about the brand after I started with Polish bras.
When I took my mother back there last month, I saw more posters and made a mental note to order one from Amazon to try.
I am always curious to see if there is another brand that can impress me and fit me as well as the Polish brands that I usually wear.
First, I have to say, that I have ...a fondness for all things floral. Pansies remind me of the gardens of my childhood - they were one of the few flowers that are strong enough to survive in Newfoundland and we always had them.
OK. Now. On to the bra itself.
***************** WHAT I LIKE: *****************
The colours are beautiful. The print itself is beautiful.
2-tone lace. Love it.
Lace on the bridge and wings. Super.
Band printed all around.
Wide straps. Yes, thank you!
Half cup bra made with 3 vertical panels and 1 horizontal. Seams are fine, nicely done and flat. Nice sewing.
Padded half cup that is cut and sew (not moulded).
WIDE gore. OMG. I LOVE this gore. I have narrow, very projected breasts, but they are wider set than some, so when I find a wide gore, I love it.
Flexible wires.
It's very comfortable to wear.
******************* WHAT I DON'T LIKE: *******************
Texture of the fabric. It is coarse. Not soft or silky. Therefore, the pattern looks pixilated up close. ESPECIALLY on the band. The band is made of printed power mesh. When it stretches out, the pattern fades.
Texture of the lace: it is rough. Could be that it will soften in the wash, but I have all kinds of other bras where the lace was so much softer from the get-go.
The band -OMG - this band is the loosest, stretchiest 30 band I have ever tried. I am on the tightest hook, wishing for another one. Fantasie have a reputation for loose bands, and I can confirm this to be VERY true.
Thickness of padding: it's a little lacking. I have semi-softs that are more thickly padded. If a bra is advertised as a padded half cup, I am now looking for/expecting Ewa Michalak CHP level of padding.
Width of the wires...this bra looks like it fits. And it kind of does. However, it does not give the oomf! that I would like to get from a half cup. It give a natural look that I get from a softcup. This is because the wires are too wide for me, so they don't push my breasts in and therefore, up, enough. If I go down a size, I am sure I will not get a tack because the width/depth ratio isn't sufficient. In this size, though, a cookie pocket would work wonders. It would compensate for the extra width, fill the outer edge of the cup and push me up more.
*******************
I got this bra for $60 on Amazon, but in the boutique, most Fantasie styles were almost $100. Would I pay $100 for a bra like this? Nope. In terms of quality for price, it doesn't beat Krisline, Ewa Michalak, Kinga or Gorsenia (the latter 2 being much less expensive!). In terms of lift, it can't hold a candle to an Ewa Michalak CHP. If I'm blowing that kind of cash on a bra, I need that wow. I have many bras that I bought from Poland for less than $50 that have construction and materials that impress me more than this.
On a side note: I also have a thing for embroideries AND panties. So, I also ordered a pair of Fantasie panties. They were over $30. The embroidery was nice and fine, but nothing to make me go wow. The fit was very, uh hmmm.. "traditional". I ordered XS and was still wishing they were tighter. The fabric was nice and soft, and had a lovely print. But, again, they were no better than Kinga or Gorsenia panties (not even close to Kris Line panties - THE BEST, btw!) and cost more than double.
OK, Fantasie. You look beautiful in photos, and perhaps you suit some ladies very well, but not me. I'm gonna leave you alone and continue my trek through Poland. Read more 619 more words
I loved Fantasie bras before I found the Polish brands. They were wonderful in comparison to Panache and Curvy Kate. I never tried any padded ones though. But yep, once you go Polish, it is practically impossible to go back to anything else aside from the wireless DE treasures. You never notice just how wide those UK brands are until you try the Polish options!
Even if it doesn't suit you, this one still looks gorgeous on you. 😍 You always make all bras look so wonderful, you would be the ideal versitile bra model!
MamaPagan definately MUCH better than the Panache and Curvy Kates I have tried also.
Thank you :) maybe someday some Polish bra brand will invite me to model ;)
You would help sell many bras if they did. 🍀
Yes, years ago I loved Fantasie but then they went and stabbed me in the boob (so to speak) by switching 97% of their designs to these styles with insanely far-apart straps. Once in a while I still find one I can wear, but not often. This is not just a loose or stretchy band it is already oversized in its unstretched state BTW. 26" is already longer than the unstretched length for many of my 32 bands. I wonder if it was a return or if it had just been tried on by too many people...!
wendybien honestly, I have no idea but it's illegally loosy-goosey. Most of my Krisline 65s measure 64-66cm unstretched, but they have nice firm bands. This one is like a hair elastic.
My shape is low set, narrow and short rooted, soft and slightly pendulous.
This bra was a good deal from eBay, so I decided to give it a try. I didn't really need another beige bra, but it looked like it could fit well, so here we are. The bra is a 3 part half cup with decent apex projection and moderate projection at the wire. The bra is beautiful actually, with finer detailing along the straps, cup edge, and gore that give it something extra. The lace stops around the wing and doesn't extend all the way to the clasps, which is always a shame. The band is ...true to size and feels secure...not too stretchy in my humble opinion. I pulled until the cup started to distort. There are 3 X 2 sets for hooks. The straps are wider than average, which is great for extra comfort and support. They adjust fairly easily, and the ribbed edging on the straps keeps them from slipping. The cups measure 15 cm and are great for my short roots. I do get a slight bit of bubbling on my larger side (and it's low tide), and there is not a ton of space for centre fullness, but I am still held in. The gore isn't too tall, which is good because the gore width was a whopping 3cm. If it came any higher it wouldn't have worked for me, because it would have been sitting on breast tissue. The wings are too short for me, and I feel like I had side boob escaping. The cups measured fairly narrow also, but I like my bras to have a slightly more U shape to them so they hold my boobs in more securely on the sides (my soft tissue squishes out if the cups are too wide or the wires are not shaped right for me). The bra itself, as mentioned, has some beautiful lace detailing, but the material itself feels just slightly cheaper compared to my Comexim bras (for example). The bra arrived quite wrinkled, but I'm sure it'll be fine after a wash or two.
Edited to add: So after wearing this bra, I noticed that the spot at the back where the straps are connected to the bra itself have a plastic ring that squeaks when I move. Not ideal. My boobs settled into the bra so there's no bubbling while I wear it, but I do have side boob escaping. I also noticed that the edges of the straps have scalloping and it's a bit sharp with wear, irritating my skin slightly (hope this lessens with a wash and wear).
Overall, pretty bra with good shape, good comfort, and decent quality. Read more 343 more words
It looks lovely on you. Yay for cheap bras on eBay!
I know... love a good deal! Thanks
Looks great! Reminds me of Honey Cookie.
Thanks Sovavosi . It reminds me of the older honey cookie.
oh, this is so pretty on you! And such a neat, perfectly rounded shape. Maybe if you keep an eye out you'll be able to get a deal on a 30FF for the fuller part of the month. I know I have seen Ivanas (and Mariannas? I think) super discounted on various UK discounter sites.
I think your photos/review also enlightened me as to why I will never get a nice rounded shape in ANY of the Freya and Fantasie half cups. My roots are narrow too, I do great in many other brands' half cups, and I typically fit virtually the same cup dimensions, but my boob shape is woefully devoid of side volume--my tissue can be temporarily reoriented but really it just wants to settle way the heck out in front of me :-D It will just gradually move back toward the midline of my body after I've put the bra on, no matter what the cup shape wants it to do, so the outside of the cups sits sad and unoccupied as there's nothing there to round it out.
I guess on the other hand, my shape means I rarely have to worry about wing height or wires too short to contain me on the sides, since my boobs just flee the area!
This looks beautiful on you ! Love the straps!
wendybien that's funny. Mine just squish whereever there's room! This bra is surprisingly narrow for a UK bra though. I might just keep an eye out for 30FF... unless my boobs shrink as I'm trying to lose 5 pounds before a beach trip! Sonya thanks. Yeah, I love the little pretty details too.
Looks so nice and the shape you get is beautiful! Very romantic style of bra.
Thanks braluv ! I'm pretty happy with it considering that I got a good price on it.
This bra fits small. It is the second of my bras ordered in 32FF but gotten in 30G and while the band runs about true to size, the cups are a cup too small. It is supposed to be stretch lace bra (and there is stretch lace https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />) but unfortunately the strong, tight elastic at the top of the cup completely negates that and it cuts in (rather extremely) into my soft tissue.
The bra is *not* as full coverage as the model photos imply. In the photo it seems more tall and narrow (the cup), but in reality it is not nearly as tall (narrow it is).
For me, the only good thing about this bra is the gorgeous slate colour.
It's a beautiful bra! Fantasie was my favorite brand for over a decade. Unfortunately they just don't work for me now.....sigh.
I'm extremely bummed all their bras seem to have the same fit and none seem to work for me.
Their bras are beautiful so I totally understand your disappointment.
Wow, that bra is indeed small! What a shame, because it is beautiful.
Wow, how beautiful! It’s a shame that it’s not a good fit.
I tried both Jacqueline Lace and the original Jacqueline (is it still made? I can go check) and found contrary to what I was being told by sales assistants, they really did NOT fit exactly the same. Only the original Jacqueline (which admittedly does not look as pretty or delicate) had a nice forgiving fit. I think Fantasie saw the success of that design (because it was so easy to fit on people) and then they decided to try and "improve" with wacky colors (Selina, I think was the name of that spinoff) and fancier materials etc. but some of the fit qualities were lost.
I think there's some of the old Jacquelines left in stock, but not many. I remember seeing it on Figleaves for sure.
I think there's some of the old Jacquelines left in stock, but not many. I remember seeing it on Figleaves for sure.
It is quite beautiful. Funny enough I would probably still wear that with all those little fit problems. It's so amazing to me how differently we all see things. When I look at this bra I see a very full coverage bra with quite a wide wire and you feel it is not full coverage at all and narrow. Post the measurements please!
I think the main fit problems cannot be seen in the photos due to the colour of the bra. I guess overall it just feels small when on.
I am working through the bra measurements I have, this one is next, lol! Just got my measuring tape.
Oh, I totally feel you brasaremean I need to get a new measure tape as well. I believe I have a good 10 or so bra's to measure, picture, and review!
Despite the cute fabric of this swimsuit, it fits me really weirdly. The cups SEEM deep enough, but the way it's made (I guess?) makes it so the fabric at the top of the cups flattens the top of my breasts. Because of this, I get a super weird shape, sorta pointy and triangular, with my breasts pointing downward. It's not flattering at all. I think I've been spoiled by Polish bras or something, or I need better construction of the cups to contain my soft tissue. Anyways, the quality is good, the fabric is soft and the band is nice and tight. It just doesn't work for me, shape-wise. The quest for the perfect swimsuit (sigh) continues...
That upside down 7 shape happens often with Fantasie side support styles, especially if they're a little too small. I have center fullness and my Fantasie Elodie didn't have enough room for it.
Ah, I didn't know that's what that odd shape is called, but it's really apt! Luckily, I didn't spend too much on the bikini to find out it didn't work.
I only tried this after reading about it on a bra blog from a user here. It's gloriously minimizing - which is what I want under a loose tee or a button up. My job next year requires white button ups so I've been getting a little desperate to find a "nude" that will work for me. Sheer bras are almost always too sheer for me to use even if they are the right color. This bra is nothing really to look at. The subtle pinstripes are a nice addition. I get some bubbling, along the top of the cup but I'm ...pretty sure that from it being closed off instead of the cup actually being too small. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a good way to remove it. But it's not a big deal since it doesn't show too much clothes anyhow. The straps are comfortable. The band feels like it might ride up but didn't even after wearing it for a whole day. The cups are gloriously narrow. My tissue actually fills out to the underwire except for the top 1/3-1/4 of the cup where the wires are less U shaped than I am. The cup runs big for what I normally consider my size. It's rare for me to wear an E cup - typically I wear an F in a 30 band. I measured the width at 4.8 and depth at 9". I went by the measurements here on bratabase to choose an E. I almost didn't keep it. I'd ordered it from Amazon but then after it working so well under my shirts and I couldn't not keep it
Updated: after having this bra 6 months I'm still wearing it but it slips out of my imf and cuts in slightly at the top. It's bubbling not quadding but I still wish it didn't. It's the best nude tshirt bra I've found though even if it's get uncomfortable after a few hours. The gore is slightly too wide / tall for me and sets on my tissue slightly. I'm still afraid sizing up would be too much. (Edited to add- i tried a 30F and it's too big all over but it still cuts in at top) It's just not especially even/ full on top friendly. I have this one in 30DD, which is a bit small for me now, but kept it anyway in case of slight weight loss. I also find it minimising, which is good for occasions when one wants to downplay bustyness.
Exceptional level of fail, for me, with this beautiful bra. It truly is beautiful, with it's fancy embroidery, and I'm sad it looks so incredibly terrible on me. Major lesson learned today, though. Even though I need a lot of side support, I need it to be in the wing area and not with the help if an inner side sling or panel. Ughh. The first bra I tried when I began this journey, had that problem, but I didn't understand it as well as I do now.
My breasts are very soft and deflated. I have yet to see an unlined bra look good on me. Every ...little thing shows. Inner slings like this one, and the seam between the different fabrics (with different levels of flexibility) of the Cleo Lucy, create all sorts of creases, indents, wrinkles, bulges and whatnot. I guess if I were to find one that does work, it would have equal support (fabric-wise) in all parts of the cup. It's hard to even describe what the Elodie did to me, but I will try.
Maybe "sling" is the wrong word. There is a panel on the side of the cup that is a thicker and firmer material than the others. This pressed on the tissue on the side of my wide roots, distorting the shape in a way that made everything else about the cups fit terribly. I never have the problem of wrinkling in the bottom or outer sides of cups, because my boobs totally sink to the bottom and fill them in. But, this bra made it appear that neither sides nor bottom were filled in. Adding insult to injury, I also wasn't filling in the tops and had tons of gapping all along the top edge of the cup, except....oddly enough...in my biggest problem area....the place where cup meets strap. There, the gapping was much less significant than it is in almost every other bra I have tried thus far. I also felt like the wings weren't quite high enough and the gore dug into my sternum painfully.
I can't even begin to say whether or not this runs true to size. Either the cups run big or the astoundingly bad fit just made it seem that way. The band seems about the same as the other 30s I have tried now (Panache, Cleo, Parfait by Affinitas), with the exception of the Natori True Decadence (in which the 30 band was nice and snug). This is one of the prettiest bras I have tried. And also one of the worst ones on me. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
This basque looks absolutely perfect on you. I'm kind of amazed. So many things could go wrong with the fit of such an item. How does it feel?
Thanks, learningaboutbras ! I haven't worn it for long, just a try-on and for the pictures. It's too hot for it right now. It feels fairly comfortable initially though. It's soft, and it's supportive. The structure of it feels nice and flexible. It's not super rigid, which is nice. The wires are too wide for me, by about .5". They don't seem to stab, but I like them narrower.
Some of that may change with actual wear, I don't know. I do like it quite a bit. I listed it, but if there's no interest by the time appropriate weather rolls around I'll probably keep it.
This bra is wonderful. I was a little concerned about shape, given that I had tried this on a few times, and some of them (same make and size) gave me a weird " > " shape. Not perky, almost downward 7. This one gives me a more rounded shape, it's extremely comfortable, gore has little separation(thank God ), fabric is one of the most unnoticeable/ comfy I've owned/tried, wires aren't too wide, really as good as I think I'm going to get (I'll explain), and band is snug, but not too snug.
As for those wires, I've come to the sort of depressing conclusion that because of my tubeyness, ...even if it isn't super severe (which makes me really sad for more severe cases), I'm never going to have "perfect" wires that come just an inch or so from my boobs, without sacrificing the depth that I really need. Looking back, I think this is why fitters have given me 32D and 30DD and said they fit. When I go up, the wires are too big, but depth is perfect. If I had the wires of most 32D/30DD's and the depth of a 32DD/30E, that would be perfect, but I may be sacrificing shaping then also.
The Freya Rio was the best I've tried, wire and depth wise, but those wires were also incredibly painful if worn a whole day.
There's a little extra fabric in the sides of this bra, but, that's how it's going to be for me I've realized. My biggest issues have been extra fabric in the sides and bottoms because I'm not fully developed- and even losing the fullness I did have. I'm not super comfortable with photos right now, as they're just looking more constricted and deflated. I've been wearing my Freya Deco way too much to hide it, but even that is becoming large in the cups. I think I mentioned that I haven't had a car to get to doctor appointments, so I stopped taking what is basically an androgen blocker, which had caused a little boob growth.
Aside from making my own bra, a perfect bra doesn't exist for me because of my tubies, which has just become exacerbated by not taking Spiro and losing some boobage. Depressing, and that's why I've lost some excitement over trying new bras -and it's sooo costly- but this is close enough, and it provides good support and everything else that I really think I need in the long run.
I'd say for those who need more narrow wires and projected cups in general, the Susanna is really great. I wouldn't recommend for anyone super shallow, but I think this may work for someone "average" also. As for unlined, the wires are less narrow than the Rio and Curvy Kate that I had, but overall, shape, support, style, fabric, depth, and comfort, this bra is up there next to my Freya Hopscotch https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":p" /> I'm super happy that I found this for less than the near $80 Nordstrom sells it for! It's one of the best bras I own.
Claudette bras are my personal narrow-wire heaven, I wonder if they would work for you. I ordered a 30C Paramour from their encore sale. The band runs larger and the cups deeper than Cleo bras (that is what I happen to have to compare). I can't find the link on my mobile but it's on their corporate website.
runs_with_scissors Thanks for the recommendation :D I'm kind of kicking myself because I just passed up 2 Claudette Paramours! haha I love the style, but I've become so worried about buying the wrong thing.
I'm glad to know they should work, I'll be sure to look around for more ! :D
My new one doesn't totally work for me, I just wrote a really long review of it and I'll eventually get around to posting some pictures.
This fits me so well! It's amazing. The straps are decently thick (wouldn't mind them a little thicker though), there's no weird side boning, the underwire doesn't go up too high but contains all my boob and sideboob, there's no wrinkling in any part of the cups even though I've got weird long deflataboob issues, and it's the only one I've seen in stores around me so far in my size that was actually kind of cute. Now I just have to go find ten more bras like this one, and pray a few have low enough cups I can wear low cut shirts again.
Just a couple suggestions from my experience with Rebecca:
- these are all over eBay, and are often around $25. I know the retail on Rebecca is hefty, but $25 for this bra is definitely worth it!
- if you want lower cups, I highly suggest sizing down in cup, because the spacer fabric will stretch like crazy and can accommodate your tissue. My best fit in this is a 34G, but I have some that I wear fine in 34FF. My usual UK size is 32H/34GG, so that shows you how accommodating it is.
It looks great on you! I'm glad you find a bra that is pretty and works so well! :D
This bra has a beautiful color, sky blue, a really pretty pale blue. Fit is quite ok, not good but not terrible either. There's not (much) quadboobing going on, which is a HUGE plus in my book. But the center gore isn't flat and the cups are certainly too small on me. The label says it's a 32 band, but it feels and measures like a 34 band. It's a comfortable bra that will serve me well until I have figured out my true size and am able to buy enough bras in that size.
The Fantasie Smoothing bra is SO comfortable and well made, that when it didn't fit me I just wanted to cry. The lower cups fit perfectly, as did the wire diameter and band, but the upper cups had awful vertical wrinkling. The cups are shaped such that you MUST have very full, round breasts (or fakes) for it to fit properly.
That being said, this is a superbly well constructed and again, super comfortable bra. The cup material is not like most molded cups I've seen. Material on this type of bra is usually thin and very stretchy. On this bra, however, the fabric has little stretch and is pretty tough. I can tell that it would offer great support and smoothness in the right size. Easy to see how this would be a hit. Unfortunately I ordered the smallest size offered so I'm out of luck. Purchased Spring 2010 from HerRoom.
This bra was a very comfortable, very functional everyday bra. The balcony style fit well under all but the widest square necklines (the top corner of the cup would show) or lowest plunges (center gore showed). The cups are a smooth molded style, giving great forward projection and pulling in breast tissue from under the arms while keeping a nice, rounded shape--it looked very natural for me. It's certainly not the most attractive bra (very basic, no-frills), but it was very, very comfortable and went well under everything from white to black (I've got very pale skin, so black bras sometimes show through black shirts if the material isn't thick or completely opaque, like a jersey material or a thinner dress shirt).
I love the high coton content fabric, it's really confortable. The shape it gives me is really good too. My main problem is that the seams are too obvious under knitted materials.
At first it fit perfectly, but the band stretched out quite a bit, and as I was only beginning to wear well-fitting bra, I have since gone up half a cup size, so now it just doesn't fit anymore. I still wear it though, as I have very few bras! If I were to buy another one, I'd go down a band size and up two cup sizes (as in, 32FF). Slightly padded, and really beautiful.
My immediate impression upon opening this bra was that I didn't like the color. The online pictures show it being much more of a creamy white, but in real life it's definitely true ivory with strong yellow undertones. Not my favorite.
The fit is OK on me and very true to size. I almost always fall squarely between cup sizes, and in this case, 30D probably would be the best fit, because in the 30DD I have little gaps at the top edges of the cups. It does not show under shirts, however (a problem I had with the Freya Deco/Lydia), so I may keep ...this one; I am still undecided. Unfortunately, per Fantasie (via email), this bra is no longer made in 30D.
As for shape, the Ava bra really lifts you up and out there. That has been the case with all the Fantasie bras I've tried on, and I love that about this company -- they really know what they're doing in the shaping department.
The foam lining is thin (1/8" or less) and stiff compared to the Panache Porcelain Lace bra, my absolute favorite. To the hands it has almost a crinkly feel which isn't noticeable during wear.
I do recommend the Ava bra, if you can get your proper size. It is so difficult to find a well made, well fitting t-shirt bra! Read more 126 more words
The Ava is a gorgeous style despite the Ivory shade. I am considering the Red or Black, it's just so pricey in US$. So aside from the shade you really quite like this bra? Shape is great?
Oh, absolutely. As long as they have your size I would say don't even hesitate. The Ava bra is incredibly supportive and the shaping is probably the best I've seen. Shortly after writing this review I learnt I was expecting, and as I (ahem) filled out on top, this bra looked and felt fantastic. I can't say enough about Fantasie designs. Wish they would make nursing bras!!!
Have you ever tried on the Fantasie "Gabrielle" Soft Cup? I see it's part of their continuity line but it seems so difficult to find! Also, have you tried ASOS for maternity bras? I'll tell a little horror story: Once I ordered a molded underwire from there and it was shipped in not a box but a plastic bag! Sure the cups weren't perfect but it was the underwires I was more concerned about being bent. Returned!
Anyhow, I'd probably recommend trying non-underwires from them. They have a couple cute Freya soft cups, they're always sold out in my sizes. I'd love to know how they run compared to other Freyas. Out of these top UK brands I have just one soft cup so far and it's from Panache, Sophie. Super comfortable. Happy maternity findings!
Have wanted to try the Gabrielle for a while now ... might be time to search it out in my size. Also have had my eye on the Panache Sophie for some time. Thanks for the buying tips! :-)
Hello Tia, Do you know Bravissimo? If you live in UK I think you can find a Bravissimo shop near from you. They have some models in KK cup and soon in L cup.
Hi Annie, Yes I do. The only KK bra is the Panache bra which should fit ok but I'm not sure whether I want an unsupportive bra! How do you know they will soon have an L cup bra?
Hi Tia, I have received a mail from customer service. The last time I went in Bravissimo Oxford Circus shop in November 2009 the fitter said me that the KK cup (36KK Harmony bra by Panache) is little small for me. She said me Bravissimo will send me mail to inform about new KK and L cup. So Charlotte from customer services team informs me 2 month ago that for the new winter collection they will have 3 bras in KK cup and 1 bra in L cup. KK cup: Harmony bra by Panache, Melody bras by Panache and Alana bra by Bravissimo L cup: Alana bra by Bravissimo You can see on the internet shop that these new sizes are due early December. Bye
I used to own several Kara bras in 36K. They were lovely and of very good quality. Very supportive its was a great pity whenI out grew the cup size over a year ago, soI can not comment on sizing. They were my favourites.
This is a beautiful but it simply is toi small in the cup for me. I wore it twice because I really wanted to make it work, but no matter how I place my breasts in the cup or how loose I get the straps, I still get quadding that is very apparent under a shirt.
It thought it was simply too shallow and close on top for me and I had my sister who is a similar size but shallower than me try it and it had too much projection at the apex for her. So I guess it has decent projection but it is simple too small for me. It definitely felt more like a 30D than a 30DD.
Wrinkles at the bottom and slightly near the straps. Also small gaps between the top of my breast and the straps. Found out this means I am too projected for this bra - the cup depth is too shallow for me. Need to go up to something around 29 cm. Might try picking this up in a size 32G instead. Keep this in mind if you're projected like myself.
The gore tacks to my chest, and the wires are just the right size that they cover my breast tissue yet don't go too far up or back under my armpit, and also sits pretty well in my IMF.
I really like the shape it gives, it is more rounded as opposed to the pointy shape some bras create.
Fits nice and snug in the band, and would be great to wear in over time. Though, the bottom of the band feels very sharp when brand new, might take a few washes before it becomes comfortable. Straps are very adjustable.
Thanks so much margesimpson ! Not too shabby for my first time fitting a proper bra on myself! :)
Totally :) and for a moulded bra, which is even harder to get a good fit. Congrats!
other than the very minor wrinkling at the inside bottom of the cups, which no one is going to see, it looks like a good but not excellent fit. and for a first time self fit, you did great! I agree, next time perhaps find something with a little deeper cup.
thank you billi09 ! ordered a 32G since it has another centimeter or 2 of depth, so I'll be posting how that fits in comparison and likely keeping whichever is better. :)
I am fairly content with my Fantsie Twilight bra. It doesn't quite knock the ball out of the park, but I finally have a bra that fits well enough that I can wear it. This Fantasie Twilight Unlined Bra with Side Support size 30FF in black feels like a bra that can securely hold me as I take on the day yet still look alluring come nightfall. I would stop short of calling it my dream bra but still rate it highly. Its the best bra for my body I have checked out this week. Other recent bra attempt went poor, most caused me more pain and discomfort ...than relief and were more boob prisons than comfortable undergarments I would willingly put on my body. This bra however I keep reaching for. I had been eyeing this particular bra for a couple months. It was one of the first bras I had looked at when I started scanning blogs, reviews, and bratabase entries in search of ABTF. I discovered my cheaply made size Large $4 Shein bras fit small in the cups but still much better and felt more comfortable than all my other bras. Until I wore and washed them they even fit better than my new Victoria Secret bras in size 34DD/36DD that I thought I was married too. It was a mind boggling realization that from middle school on I doubt I had ever worn a properly fitting bra that far off. Hence my search. I have worn this bra on and off this week and I still feel content with the fit and look of this bra. The bra is constructed of a few thin layers of woven mesh, connected with two vertical seams. On the top of the cups strwt ch ing diagonally from the apex to the gore is another seam attaching a strip of f verybine stretchy mesh, which I appreciate. It makes the the cups a little more forgiving with slight weight fluctuations and the extra top fullness that seems to swell up come certain points during my cycle. The panel is less than an inch thick (0.75inches) and measure 7inches long from gore to the apex where the strap meets the cups at the tops of both cups. One breast is bigger than the other but in this bra it's hard to see that from the top. My smaller tight bra does not entirely fill up the cup and the wire feels slightly wide and it fits my left breast well. The black lace is interesting and there is a little gold colored adornment on the gore, which feels a little more tasteful than slapping a bow on there. The cups are constructed to help bring my breasts forward, even with the 3inch gore my brrasts are not being made to run towards my underarms, I think that is thanks to the side support and construction of the bra. It caused my breasts to look a little cone shaped, but not in an unflattering way. The cups of this bra cover more than my usual plunge styles, it peeked out of some low cut tank top I wore, so it's not a style I would wear with every outfit. I feel like the bra has more give and could handle more outterfullness which I kind of lack, but it fits my left breast. No quad boob. The gore tacks and does not dig into my sternum. The strap placement is good and is not too far apart. The straps are just thick enough, and I am able to wear the 30 band on the tightest hooks. Right now I have it on the middle hooks. If this bra stretches quickly like I have heard about other Fantasie bras, the band may not have enough support soon. This makes sense because I fit and feel a little better in a 28 band. I am glad I tried a 30ff UK or 30H US. I have lost weight after I first tried the calculator and my 28GG bras and 30G Fantasie bra was a little too big in the cups( amoung other fit issues. I love the look of this nice Lacey bra. It is a different style than I am use too but that's okay. After a few weara I noticed that its not as supportive as I need, but it's still doing the job. I also noticed the underwire slightly dug in near my armpits when I had the band on the tightest fitting hook. This went away with some adjusting. I am able to scoop and swoop my breasts in and not worry about them though, they stay put which I am not use too. I am glad I gave this Fantasie bra a try after the Illusion didnt work out and was surprised the 3inch gore was no issue and the wings weren't too tall. I am not sure if side Support bras are meant for my breast shape/type but this bra does the job. There is less cleavage than I like for most of my outfit choices but that's okay. I hope to buy the matching panties soon, but until then I am sure it will go well with any of the basic black lace pairs I own. This bra is quite nice and makes me feel confident, supports and doesn't cause me pain. It hits all the basic points for what a bra has to do, so I am satisfied. The hunt continues for the perfect fit though. Read more 824 more words
Cups fit my shape (wide root) better than other molded cups, but 2 hooks do not provide enough support for the band, which digs into my ribcage under my breasts.
