    Hasn't set fit

Basketballs shape. $30 on Amazon right now. No stiff padding, just lined. As usual with 3-part half cups, the projection is fairly good. I am someone who needs a lot of bottom projection and room for center fullness, and here it performs fairly well, just a little empty space at the bottom towards the center. I could stand to go up a cup size, so it may not be the cut. Band runs loose: I like a relaxed 30 or a 32 and I have this on the tightest hooks Those who are true 28 should pass on this one unless you're up for a sewing project. The ... band and wires are comfortably firm on the right setting. I'd say the cups are TTS for an F cup. It's a cup size small for my larger breast, which is causing some gaping in the upper cup by the strap, but it's not coming up high, so it doesn't bother me like a gaping plunge cut would. The gore is on the narrower end of medium, although it could stand to be a bit narrower. I am fairly high-set and it does not chafe me. Straps are well-placed: a bit wide, typical of balconette style, probably Comexim-width apart. Straps are cushioned and only adjustable to the shoulder. Overall fit B+, very impressed. Extremely comfortable. Lifts fabulously. Very happy color for summer, vibrant fuschia. Good quality, beautiful embroidery, incredible price. I feel it will last a while.

  3. Maya Padded Half Cup (0271)

30F/FF narrow and tall roots, projected, full on top

The wires of the Maya are not quite as narrow as I would like but are close enough to the right width that it isn't uncomfortable at all. Overall this bra is very comfortable and I like the fit. My only minor complaint is that the top edge of the cup is a little less open than I would prefer and it cuts into my tall breasts ever so slightly. It's not anything that anyone other than myself would notice though.

Fauve bras are the right mix of sexy and elegant, making one of my absolute favorite brands. The Lucia is a gorgeous deep ruby color with black embroidery and trim. It gives perfect cakes on a plate cleavage and an upfront rounded profile.

I feel my only complaint would be how loose their bands are. Even though it's a 30 I need to put it on the tightest hook or the wires will slide down in front and the band will rise in the back. The decoration on the front of the straps is also not to my taste. In my opinion, ones that are simple black or the same ruby of the bra would look nicer.

    Didn't fit

Of all the Fauve Padded Half Cups I've tried (which is a bunch*), this is one of the ones that works the least for me. It's shorter, shallower, and wider-gored than its compatriots, and I'm full on top, projected, and close-set, so it's bad a match. It's pretty open on top, which is nice, but because it lacks height, I tend to fall out of the top. On the plus side, the band is nice and firm, not as stretchy as some of the others can be.

Straps note -- the actual strappy part of the straps is about 3/4", but the straps have lace on both sides ... which extends to about 1.5" at widest, so take note if you plan on wearing it with strappy tops.

*Here is how well they fit me, from best to worst. Better fits are deeper and/or more open on top.

Wow, this is a fantastic-looking bra. I'm usually not a big lace fan, but the lace here is just so beautiful! Similar fit to the Fauve Evangeline. For me, it's on the shallow side.

MOST BEAUTIFUL OF ALL BRAS, but I get a bit of quad-boob. It is on the shallow side for Fauve Padded Half Cups. Gives beeeauuitful cakes-on-plate, though, and is itself lovely, with silvery embroidery. It's a real princess bra!

I have a review of the nude/Biscuit color here: http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dli7c/ I haven't noticed any differences between the colorways, other than the obvious (nude disappears better under light shirts, etc.)

  9. Bronte Padded Longline Bra (0331)

I thinks the cups run small. I concider my size in Panache 28F or 28FF. Because Bronte doesn´t come in 28 bands, I ordered 30F, a sister size to 28FF.

The wires are really wide. They are a bit wider than I need but that is no problem actually. They are comfortable and it doesn´t show really, that they should be a bit narrower. I get some quadboobing, so cups are too small for me.

The band either runs small or then it is a longline thing, it feels tight enough for me definitely. I could not wear a 28 band in this bra! My tight underbust measurement is 26 ... inches.

The bra has boning in the sides and therefore it stays put quite well. Only the front lace at the bottom rolled over while wearing the bra. Some people have found Bronte longline painful to wear. I didn´t find it painful, but during the day I could feel the bra all the time. It gave me good posture and I held my back straight all day, one cannot hunch in this bra. When I took the bra off, there were red lines in my body. I don´t think it´s going to be a problem though, the red lines were not downright painful, more like uncomfortable.

    EDIT. 1.9.2014
The bra is really comfortable to wear. I did have overspill originally in the center of the cups, but that seems to have disappeared. So this bra fits, and is very comfortable + nice looking! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

  10. Evangeline Padded Half Cup (0262)

If fairies and elves really exist, they're shopping for bras like my Fauve Evangeline Padded Half Cup in Red. The full, rounded profile; the ethereally beautiful Leavers lace layered over the cups; the stretchy yet supportive band that doesn't cause back fat...My 30F Evangeline pushes my breasts up, to form that uber-cakes-on-a-plate cleavage, AND forces them toward the center of my chest. One can have almost touching breasts that from the front are very round in appearance but still move toward each other only with reluctance. I value bras that create maximum fullness around the center gore. Until I tried Ewa Michalak's 3D bras, I thought Fauve's half ... cup bras were the only ones that could do this. I tell ya, having very naturally firm breasts isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I got this Evangeline in Red, bought another in beige (Biscuit), and then tried it in black. All three fit the same. Every bit of the bra is comfortable. There is NO break-in period with Fauve, at least with the dozen or so I've tried. I've tried mostly padded half cups, but also three sheer half cups.

I worried that the Leavers lace was too delicate for frequent wear, but the underside of the straps wears faster than the lace. In fact, neither the red or beige (Biscuit) Evangeline is showing wear in the outer cup material. Maybe that's why these bras cost what they do, to source higher quality, more durable materials?

Being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. I'm sure the gore height and cup coverage of Fauve's half cup bras are a necessity for women with soft tissue and more space between their breasts, but the gore is just too high on me for more than occasional wear.

I actually bought a backup of this bra, figuring a nude-for-me bra is versatile enough to justify the expense. However, the sad fact is that being petite with close set breasts means even most plunge center gores are too high for me. I'm sure the gore height and cup coverage of Fauve's half cup bras are a necessity for women with soft tissue and more space between their breasts, but the gore is just too high on me for more than occasional wear.

Unfortunately, since my left breast is slightly larger than my right breast, I have to do a little wiggling to get the bra to sit properly. For the most part, it fits well. The underwires are a TINY bit too short on my left side, so I have a little bit of spillage under my arm, but this bra is beautiful and otherwise comfortable, so I am going to make it work. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

  14. Marla Padded Half Cup Bra (0291)

I returned this bra soon after I bought it. The fit was great, just like the vast majority of 30F Fauve padded half cup bras I already owned. The color, however, was a dark, brownish purple color. I thought it would be a clear jewel tone, like the dark blue Fauve Marla. This one was still a nice color, just not for me. I never wore the purple one and returned it to House of Fraser immediately.

This review is for the Ruby colorway, which has accents in chocolate brown. The blue Lucia, which has black accents, fits noticeably bigger in the cups than the Ruby colorway. Oddly enough, the center gore of the Ruby is also noticeably shorter than the blue Lucia's.

This lovely bra fits as a 30F Fauve padded half cup should. It fits like these other Fauve 30F half cup bras:
Evangeline in black, Evangeline in Biscuit (clear, golden beige), and Evangeline in red
    Emmanuelle in blue/black
Maya in Butterscotch (clear, golden beige)
Chloe in teal, Chloe in blue, and Chloe in black
    Veronique in magenta
Marla in blue, Marla in purple

I think you can understand why I ... was so annoyed that the 30F blue Fauve Lucia was not cut to the same depth as all those others.

To return to this ruby Fauve Lucia, it feels luxurious, as you would expect from Fauve. It gives dramatic, cakes on a plate cleavage. It has striking embroidery and trims. The Lucia model has an embroidered bow, placed asymmetrically on the left cup only, where it meets the strap.

The straps are partially adjustable. They continued the satin material and trims up the front of the straps. I'm petite, with somewhat high set breasts, but the straps shortened short enough for me. Each cup has two vertical seams.

The chocolate brown embroidery and trims are a dark chocolate color. So a high end milk chocolate, which has about 60% cocoa, also resembles this color. This color does NOT resemble Hersheys milk chocolate. I'm not judging you if that's what you like; I'm just pointing out how dark this brown accent color is.

This lined half cup bra gives me classic cakes on a plate cleavage. The color, called Butterscotch, is a clear, honeyed version of beige. The cups fit extremely well, as most of my Fauve half cups do. Fauve's half cups are on wide and deep, compared to some other brands' half cups. Each cup has two vertical seams. My theory is this helps make the shape very round. My breasts are round, even in terms of top or bottom heaviness, and neither shallow or projected. Out of the dozen or so Fauve half cup bras I've tried, only the blue Lucia and the Pearl have been too deep. ... All the others, including the unlined ones, have been great fits.

The fit and finish of Fauve account for the line's higher end pricing. There is no break-in period for these bras. Nothing scratches, pokes, or presses unevenly. This is a nude-for-me bra, but it's not boring. The cups have tonal embroidery pattern that resembles stylized leaves. There are flat, squared off bows at the gore and straps. The fully adjustable straps have a ruched texture that prevents slippage. The wings are mesh. Elastic at the top and bottom of the wings do not dig in. The tension created by the elastic doesn't overpower the tension of the mesh in the wings. Unlike some bras, this one doesn't cause back fat..

If I had a decent amount of space between my breasts, my boobs would be completely happy with this bra. The center gore is not high for a half cup bra, but my breasts require an abnormally low gore to be comfortable. I can comfortably wear this during a 16 hour day, but wearing such bras day after day causes semi-permanent bruising on my sternum.

Absolutely gorgeous bra. A bit more projected than I like, so when my boobs are smaller, there is some wrinkling in the cup. It fits perfectly around shark week, however. The gore stabs into my chest sometimes, but most of the time it is fine.

Great shape, a bit of gapping on my smaller boob, but that's ok. The straps tend to slip down my shoulders because they are too wide-set.

I was SO excited to get the blue Fauve Lucia Padded Half Cup in 30F because it was a past season color, and I already had about ten Fauve half cup bras, padded and unpadded, that fit perfectly. I also knew this satin fabric was silky to the touch and gorgeous, because I already owned the Ruby color.

This does not fit! The cups are decidedly larger than all the other Fauve half cup bras I already had. I later discovered the 30F Fauve Pearl Padded Half Cup also runs big in the cups. But first, let me point out that this blue colorway is noticeably bigger in the ... cups than the Ruby colorway! Argh. The blue Lucia Half Cup Bra is also bigger than these ten Fauve bras in the same 30F size:
Evangeline in black, beige, and red
    Emmanuelle in blue
    Maya in beige
Chloe in teal, blue, and black
    Veronique in magenta
    Marla in blue

That's TEN other Fauve half cup bras that fit and this stupid blue Lucia that doesn't.

It is gorgeous, though, and the matching briefs are also gorgeous.

  20. Sabine Padded Half Cup (0281)

Like virtually all of the 30F Fauve Padded Half Cup Bras I've tried, the Sabine fit great, was comfortable, and created massive cakes on a plate cleavage. My boyfriend didn't like this bra, so I returned it. He pretty much never likes black bras.

The center gore on this is too high, but it is still comfortable. For some reason, all bras cover a much greater portion of my torso than they are supposed to. It's probably because my frame is very petite, except for my broad shoulders and 30F chest. My boobs are extremely close set. Any gore higher than 1.5" will rest on breast tissue. Sometimes ... this causes discomfort or bruising. The Fauve Half Cup Bras are the least problematic in this regard, though their center gores are quite high. They have this in common with every single half cup bra center gore on earth.

I think the premium price Fauve bras command really comes through in the comfort of the materials and construction. They also look gorgeous, of course. However, it's easy to make a bra look cute or pretty or seductive or whatever. It's much harder to make it function--and I include comfort in that heading--well.
