The 30F Fauve Evangeline Padded Half Cup (0262) in Black fit exactly the same as the Red and Biscuit Evangeline Padded Half Cup bras. I returned the Black bra only because my boyfriend didn't care for the color. It has the same lovely lace as the others, but in black, on a beige background.
I set the fit as comfortable in all particulars even though I've since realized I prefer center gores no higher than 1.5" because my breasts are extremely close set. In a bra, there is no space between them. However, Fauve padded half cups are comfortable despite the high gore. The half cup style always has ...a gore on the high side, at least on me. I'm quite petite, except for a 30F bust. Almost every half cup bra covers my torso much more than that style is supposed to. Half cups are meant to eke out enough coverage to hide one's nipples and aerolas. My boobs fit half cups extremely well and achieve epic cakes on a plate cleavage. I just end up very covered up. I find this a great fit although after a whole day's wear I get a little irritation under my right arm, mostly due to the coarseness of the lace I think. Otherwise a really great bra.
The Fauve Pearl Padded Half Cup Bra in 30F is black satin with pale pink embroidered dots on the cups, straps, and most of the bottom edge of the band. I have ten other Fauve half cup bras. Three are sheer; the other seven are what Fauve calls padded and what I would call lightly lined. All ten in my closet fit well.
I was surprised, therefore, to find the cups of the 30F Fauve Pearl gaped slightly at the top edge. There is just enough stiffness in the cups for them to hold their shape, so there is no wrinkling anywhere, not even at the very top edges. ...The difference in fit between the Pearl and my other Fauve half cups is distinct, however.
It turns out the Pearl's cups and center gore are much taller than in my other Fauves. This causes the gaping at the top and makes the straps feel like they are digging into the shoulder/armpit area. I am petite and small framed to boot. I expect the Pearl would suit someone in the 30F range if they were taller or had a longer distance from underbust to shoulder or were extremely full on top.
This bra is a little too big in the cups for me. I usually wear a 30E in Fauve padded half cups, but I quadboob ever so slightly out of that size, so I tried the 30F, but it doesn't quite fit. It is a great cut for shallow breasts and has wires on the wider side. The straps are fully adjustable and have a decorative gathered-ribbon sort of treatment that is also very grippy and keeps the strap adjusters from slipping. Like other Fauve bras that I have tried, the band is quite loose for a 30. There are lots of beautiful details, like the extra decoration around the closure in the back and the multicolored bow in the front.
I've just recently starting wearing 30 band size bras (previously wore 34C), so I am still experimenting with my size.
The band and straps are very firm and not very stretchy, I like this. I can't quite fill the top of the cup, but it's very minor and since the bra is unpadded, you can barely tell. The placement of the straps work very well for me.
The bra has these little bow details stitched into it on one of the straps, and in back where the hooks are.
Like all my @Fauve bras, this one is incredibly comfortable and very pretty. The strap fits snugly without being constricting and the band and cup both run true to size.
The embellishments (small bows at the strap and gore, satin fold-over at the top of the cup) don't show through shirts but add a beautiful, subtle effect. The wires on this bra fit my very shallow breasts perfectly and are nicely padded to keep from pressing and rubbing against the ribcage.
This bra gives great separation and lift while keeping that nice soft rounded shape I love. Also, the top and sides of the cups are low enough that it doesn't show under the low cut spaghetti-strap tanks I wear to work, which is a big plus!
https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> such a pretty bra, but like all balcony / balconettes I've tried, it's a catastrophe if I wear it. I get either extra room at the point of the cup, or some bizarro-land orange-in-a-glass thing - it's really like someone tried to put oranges in a ziplock bag with a weird mountain range crest line... anyway, it doesn't fit me.
The comfort (fit issues aside) is great, the fabric is high quality and the lace feels sturdy. The detailing is impeccable and beautiful and luxurious. The band fits without any weirdness to the stretch - doesn't create bulges or have tight 'edges'. The cups just don't work for me... like, at all. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
I expected to fit a 30F in this bra but did not - am rebuying in 30FF. It looks and feels expensive - lovely detailing, high quality fabrics, very pretty design. Very comfortable, just not enough cup space for me.
