I got this bra because I had it in a 28FF and grew out of it after a few months. It was great while it lasted, although there was sometimes some wrinkling of the cups towards the bottom. The 28 band started out tight at first, but eventually loosened up enough to wear without an extender. Anyways, there was a huge difference in fit between the 28FF and 28G for me.
Like I had expected, I had to try this on with an extender. Without, I can still fasten the bra, but I'm popping out all over the place... What I didn't like was that the 28G is ...just so much MORE bra, and that doesn't work with my small frame. It comes up higher under the armpits and I didn't really feel like it needed 4 hooks, but whatever. The center gore is also a 1/2 in taller than the 28FF.
That above anything else is what makes me want to return this. For one, I have very close set breasts, which is why I prefer plunge bras. The higher center gore is basically sitting on top of breast tissue at this point. It also shows under lower cut tops which means that I can't even wear this bra anymore with a lot of the clothes that call for something strapless.... I might want to try again with a 30FF, but for now I think I'll just make due with the 28FF that I have. I don't have time right now to go through the return/exchange process.
This is a nice one! I'd say if you like the Freya Antoinette, you should give this one a try.
The cups are a tiny bit big on me since I get a bit of gaping in the cup near the center gore. It fits fine in every other way, so I don't find this much of a problem. I kind of think a smaller cup size would have caused some quadraboob, but I may track one down just to compare.
I like the shape this bra gives me. It isn't ultra rounded like the Ewa Michalak bras I love. Instead it is more of a natural shape. Still, ...I'd say it is pretty flattering. I also like the mesh fabric on the inside of the cups. It is so soft!
Lastly, I found the band to be a little big for me. I have to clasp the hooks on the tightest set from the beginning.
Overall, a very natural every day type bra.
-ETA- This is a perfect period bra for me! I never really noticed my boobs grow that much around that time of the month, but this time it is very easy to notice. This bra is so comfortable and those slight wrinkles have disappeared. The stretchy lace is perfect for this! Read more 102 more words
If the bra fits you on your period but is a little loose the rest of the month, you could have two measurements and set that it fits for one and not the other ;)
I tried remeasuring at the time and for some odd reason the actual measurements were the same. Is that normal?
Yes, I am not all that surprised, boobs are very misterious :P, they could swell in a direction that's not captured by the current measurement (top part) so they do swell but bratabase never knows :(
This bra fits identical to my black and grey Freya Deco bras in the same size, 28GG.
The fabric is soft and beautiful in a muted mint-blue color with very thin black micro chain-link stripes. My favorite part is the fully adjustable straps. The elastic has a soft almost felt like feeling under the elastic with a satin finish on the top. These straps are much better than the traditional elastic used on the basic Deco models. There is a small satin bow where the strap meets the cup, and there are two small black buttons on the center gore.
Overall, I think this is a really cute and overall comfy bra, but unfortunately it doesn't really suit my shape.
My favorite part about it is the print, especially on the straps. I like wearing it with tank tops and camisoles because my straps are so cute, and not an ugly nude/black/white. I also like the way the half-cup looks. Overall, a very cute bra.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to give up anything that isn't a plunge, because no matter what I do the center gore digs into me. I think it's because my boobs are so close together that I literally don't have any ...space between them, just a skin web with some breast tissue under it. This bra, like most half-cups, doesn't work well for close-together boobs.
One thing I noticed is that this bra has pretty wide wires for a Freya. This would work well for someone with far apart boobs. Unfortunately, this also means the straps are pretty far apart. They slide off my shoulders a lot. Not good for narrow shoulders.
I rated it down a little on quality because the inside fabric/light padding on mine is slightly bigger than the outside fabric, and this causes a minor wrinkle. Luckily, it's hardly noticeable, especially with a shirt over it.
Even with the shape problems, it's still a bra I wear regularly--it's comfortable otherwise and the cuteness makes up for it! Read more 127 more words
I love this bra! It fits great, barely stretched! It is super feminine and I love the sheer fabric. The snug band and straps keep my boobs lifted and supported all day. The bows on the straps and center gore are cute too! One of my fave bras!
This is a lovely bra but sadly it didn't fit, I could get a pointer finger under the gore (going from top down) and the underwire cut into the sides of my breasts, it also gave me some "muffin" top.
I got this bra online from Nordstrom's sale. Though it doesn't sit flat against my sternum, it almost does. The lacey top part is forgiving of my "soft" on top boobs. It seems even stretchier than other Freyas, and it does stretch out further than another I have, but maybe I pulled harder. I wore it all day two days ago, and have it on again today. I naturally put it on the second set of hooks when I put it on today, and remember that I thought it might do better snugger when I wore it two days ago.
It is very comfortable, and attractive in an everyday bra sort of way. Perhaps not the best t-shirt bra as there is an obvious difference between the satin lower area and the lace top, though the lace isn't heavily textured so you don't get the lace through the t-shirt effect.
This was my first bra after getting a proper fitting. It was basically the only bra in the store here in my size, so I thought it fit fantastic. (I had at first purchased a 28F, but returned it for a 28FF due to a small amount of quad boob that drove me crazy.) I ordered a few more of the Freya decos online, since I "thought" they fit well.
My breasts have most of their volume at the bottom, and this moulded plunge bra has the tendency to leave gaps at the top. The gaps are not there all the time, but sometimes I will look down and ...can see a gap. It really depends on how I am sitting and what my posture is like. When I put the bra on, I love the rounded and supported shape I get, but that never remains for the whole day.
For awhile I thought that the cup ran large, and it very well might, but I think this bra is best suited to rounded breasts or breasts with lots of top volume.
The band for this bra is also larger than many other brands that I have.
I gave the looks a "meh" because of how it looks on me. The gaps make it kinda crap, but the bra itself looks nice.
UPDATE: I lost 5 pounds and 2-3 cup sizes since I wrote this review. I no longer wear *any* of my decos (I have quite a few since it is the only bra that the stores here have in stock in a 28 band, and I really needed more than one. In the end I didn't like how it fit. I have soft tissue and the deep plunge looked great at first, but my breasts would fall in the plunge and then I had a gap at the top of the bra. If I stood up straight it went away, but as soon as I hunched a bit it was a large gap. Granted it wasn't visible under clothes, but I was self sonscious (which makes sense, since it really wasn't the bra for me- post pregnancy and breastfeeding.)
I will most likely NOT re purchase the freya deco since I know more about my shape and what works for me (more horizontal bra shape- centre gore and sides of the cup I mean), half cups seems to hold everything in, without giving me a place for the tissue to fall, and don't have lots of extra material at the top which I can't fill (soft bottom heavy breasts- not very full at the top so I easily get empty space when bras are cut too high.) This is a really, really awesome bra. With or without the straps, the support it gives is excellent. It has a very round, smooth shape and works under pretty much any clothing. It's probably the most useful bra I own.
I wish it were available in a cup size larger than GG, since I could maybe have gone with the wiggle room that an H would have (my breasts like to surprise me by growing.) But as it is, I can wear the bra comfortably for the whole day. The light padding is a little bit heavy for hot weather, but it has enough lift to prevent underboob ...rash and other atrocities that come with the summer.
If you're considering purchasing the bra, you should be aware that the band is on the snug side. Usually a 28 is better for me, since I have an itty bitty ribcage under all my squishiness, but the 30 in the Deco strapless is just perfect. Don't get this bra expecting the band to stretch quickly- it's very sturdy and would take more breaking in than it's worth! If you're not sure what band size to get, aim a little bit high.
My one complaint is that the bra spreads my boobs a little too far apart for my tastes. It would probably look better on someone with a broader chest. It looks great under clothing regardless, though. Read more 126 more words
Like most people who try this bra, I found that it was just too big in the cups. I've been fitted at 34H through {intimacy} and have tried and fit in bras sized 32HH. I purchased this bra originally to wear to my brother-in-law's beach wedding; I'd found a really pretty, off the shoulder dress that was begging me to wear it. Anyway, I didn't have much time so I compared the measurements of my pre-altered 36G Deco Moulded Half Cup Bra and saw that they were relatively similar in terms of cup size (I think they should add cup HEIGHT to these measurements). ...Unfortunately, based solely on measurements, it was up in the air as to whether or not it would fit, but the measurements were similar and I decided to give it a shot. And let me tell you, this is one weird bra.
On the tightest hooks I had back cleavage and the cups could literally fit twice my cup size in them. On the loosest hooks the band seemed fine, but I was nervous to wear a strapless bra so "loose" for a full day so I put it on the middle hooks where it seemed to fit best. After a the ceremony and photos (about 2 hours of wear) I noticed that my boobs were suddenly falling out of the top of the bra. The bottom of the bra, that had been filled so nicely when I put it on, was now folded over; and the top of the bra, that had been loose and floppy when I put it on, was now being overrun with boobage! My boobs were shifting all over; I left it alone and didn't adjust it until I took the bra off 3 hours later after returning to the hotel.
Overall, I would like to own this bra in a size that actually fits. The Deco bras tend to run a bit on the large side it's actually kind of ridiculous. As someone who has tried on and worn many bras in 32HH/34H I can definitely tell you that this bra is at least 2 cup sizes larger than they should be. I think a 34FF or 34G would have fit better; I had considered buying a 32GG, but decided against it because strapless bras tend to run more firm in the band and I think a 32 would have killed me.
I'd like to explain my ratings. Quality is good because, well, it's a nice bra and it seems well constructed (just bit). The comfort is good in the band, but the cups are just too big. And the appearance of the bra is meh because, while it does look alright, it just doesn't fit and ended up flattening me out and making my boobs look super saggy. Read more 377 more words
Jolie is a great bra it has fit me well at several different bra sizes over the years. The cups stay smooth, as they are made from substantial enough lace fabric, and remain attractive. This bubblegum pink shade is lovely and bright and fun. In 30E this bra is ever so slightly big in the cup now if I slouch but fine when I stand up straight! Probably because my boobs are bottom heavy - especially since loosing weight - so I am noticing this top-cup gaping quite often now with different bras I try. Must stand up straight!!! Definitely recommend this one.
Some people think the deco is the most amazing bra in the world, and I'm going to admit that I'm biased a little that way. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> It's definitely the bra I wear most, and I hope to get at least one more. However, I realize it may not work as well for others as it does for me, maybe because of the style, maybe because of the shape it gives (it's a characteristic one!). So I'll write what I think.
-The band runs a little large, like many Freya bras. I can wear the 30F on the tightest hook, but the cups gap ...a little because of it. I wish I had gotten a 28FF, but I bought this at Nordstrom, after they stopped selling 28 bands. I would recommend anyone between sizes to size down in the band.
-The cup also seems to run large, but only slightly. If you're at the smaller end of a cup size, I would size down in the cup. If you're at the bigger end, this will probably fit you well.
-When I tried this on, it seemed pretty snug on the loosest hook, but after wearing it for a few days it was clear a 28 band would fit better. It's not because of the fabric stretching, it's because the wires bent to fit my ribcage better (with some help from me). I have a pretty round ribcage, so the flat wires were a bit uncomfortable. I think it's awesome that they can do that, I just wish I knew it would affect the band so much.
-My favorite thing about the deco is the characteristic shape it gives! It lifts and rounds me out like I've never seen another bra do. I don't have cleavage in it, probably because my breast tissue connects in a way it's not supposed to, but I definitely get an "oomph" shape-wise from it. People who like a more natural shape (ie non-showgirl Curvy Kate) may not like the up-front, smoothed out shape. However, this is a shape I prefer, so it's great for me.
I think this bra will fit most shapes pretty well, but I would recommend it for full-on-top and close-together boobs especially. Read more 263 more words
I actually really like this bra although I find the cups a bit too "tall" for my shape. I fill out the cups completely everywhere except the top - not sure if this problem would be fixed by going down to 28DD.
Despite not being a perfect fit, this bra is comfortable and gives a nice shape.
Band length: 64.2cm Cup width: 15.0cm Cup depth: 28.8cm Wire length: 26.5cm Cup separation: 2.5cm Strap width: 1.8cm
Quality: 4/5 Comfort: 4/5 Appearance: 4/5
Gorgeous style. Normally I don't allow myself to buy let alone even try soft cup Freya's anymore because I abhor the shape they give me (which I lovingly deem as 'bullet boobs') although this offering seemed like it may be a redeemer for the brand. The style instantly appealed to me with the green, lilac and tiny magenta floral topped with lime lace and bow accents. The full on solid fabric cups and their small edging of lace said to me, "Hey, maybe this particular bra is a bit more similar to this ...season's Cleo line so maybe give it a try". I'm pleased to say I'm a big fan of the solid cup structure with all its details.
As for sizing I've read many, many reviews before buying this bra and they were allover the place: "it's so big, size down", "I had to go up in the band", "definitely far too big in the cup", etc. My only conclusion is that perhaps many of these women have not bought a Freya bra or even a new bra in the past six-months or so because for me it runs 100% TTS for Freya. They may be used to their now stretched-out bras in their what-could-be-previous-size and instead of getting re-measured, they bought what they thought they were! This means the band is definitely going to be stretchy, and now I really want to size down to a 28 just because I know that if I plan to wear it A LOT it will definitely wear out pretty quick. Also, the cups are just fine and I really should be up one from this FF and in a G (even though it was unavailable at the time I ordered).
However, I do understand that since I am not very compatible with these styles that many women who ARE and therefor are fuller on bottom may actually *want* to size down one cup because as some reviews have said, the top of the cup may have a bit extra room. Too bad for me it doesn't because I'm in an improper size. I'm hoping to exchange this for a 28GG if I can find it and further update to make a good comparison and final call on this super pretty SS12 style.
Key points to this fit: underwires are wide enough on sides yet still low because the side wings are too, there isn't so much "quad boob" because of cups cutting-in but rather because the cup size is knowingly too small (can't wait to try a larger cup to compare), band is usual "Freya long" and as always stretchy.
Recommend: if you're a typical soft cup Freya fan and have fuller on bottom breasts, try either your normal size or same band, down just one cup. If you are unsure of your Freya-fan status or have fuller on top/all around fullness (or also, smooshy boobs that tend to fill out on bottom or on top): try your same band and cup and maybe also one cup size up as well.

Bought from Brastop-- tried on for size, squealed a little, tried on a dress, then took measurements.
I really thought I would love Freya's padded half cup bras, but I haven't been able to get my grubby paws on one in the right size... until now!
Unfortunately, this bra is not sold in size 28GG, which would be a better fit, but it fits very nicely on the tightest hook and I like the style enough that I am willing to alter the band down if it loosens significantly with wear.
The padding is very thin on this, just enough to prevent visible nipples but thin enough to not ...add much volume, which is great in my opinion as I like the shape given by padding, but I don't really need any extra volume added to my breasts-- they are big enough. I love the way this fits and the way it looks! It's safe to say I will try and get more of Freya's padded half-cup bras, it's gorgeous and very flattering with clothing on or off-- and I love the quality of Freya bras.
Straps are nice and wide and fully adjustable.
There are tiny lavender bows at the join of the straps with the top of the cup. The top of the cup is edged with a textured, but reasonably flat scalloped lavender lace that matches the lavender birds on the print, and also matches the ribbon of the bows. In the center there's a larger bow made of the same ribbon as the strap details, with a little silver bird charm hanging from it. I liked that so much I even took a detail picture to show it off!
The bird print material is pretty sheer, but not very see-through due to the dark color. Obviously, the cups are not sheer at all despite this, due to the padding.
This is my favorite bra right now, it's so beautiful and it's just the right shape to fit under my new dress (it's a bit too small in the bust, and I couldn't find any bras that wouldn't show under the low wide neckline-- this is PERFECT)! Read more 250 more words
Wearing this one on the loosest hook at the moment and I am really liking it! It got a bit tight when I wore it for the first time for a full day and dug in a bit on my sides, but this should go away after I've worn it a few times.
This is really the first seamed bra I have felt okay wearing. The seams on this one would definitely show through a thin shirt, but it is okay for work. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the shape it gives me though. I am used to bras with a bit of shaping/padding in ...them, so this is my first time with an unlined bra. As opposed to my padded bras, this one gives a more up front/boobs sticking out there look. Kinda hard to describe! It isn't as rounded a shape as I am used to.
I think I am definitely going to wear this one again and see how it works!
-ETA- I've had this bra for a month and it really has become my go to everyday bra. It's comfortable, supportive, and I've started getting used to the shape that this unlined bra gives me. I am actually starting to like it more than my old moulded bras! The sad thing is somehow I have gone up a cup size in the past month, so now I am getting a bit of quadraboob that wasn't there before. I guess I need to go up a cup size now. Firstly: I like my bras to sit tight and firm in the day and get rid of them while I'm slacking. This is absolutely no slacking bra. Instead it's a bra that's really steady and gives a lot of support.
My shoulders are sloping and the band does not come off.
There are almost no stretch before wearing them a year or two. To me they fit like they were customized for updressing.
This bra is really comfortable. I could definitely have gone down a band size, but the 30 is still supportive enough. My one peeve is that the cups wrinkle a little at the bottom- I'm not sure why, since my breasts are definitely filling it. However, the wrinkling isn't really visible (especially under a shirt) so it's not a problem.
The design is really cute, but the black dots and seams do show through sheer clothing; it doesn't make the perfect T-shirt bra, but if you're wearing dark colors or opaque clothes, it's fine.
As for shape: it looks great on, though it might be a little pointy and spread the breasts a little farther apart than some people like. However, those things work really well for me.
When I saw this bra in the store I had to have it!!! The fit is fabulous in the cup and gives a nice round shape and just the right amount of lift. I love the color/pattern and the small lace edge detail. The straps are fully adjustable. The only issue I have with this bra is that the band is too big and I will need to take it in to fit my 26 inch ribcage. But it is well worth the effort. Had this bra been made in a 28GG it would have been perfect from the start. I love this shape so much, I purchased ...a few more from Freya with the same cut.
*Update 7/2/12 -I noticed that this bra had some gathering/rippling along the vertical seaming up the front of the cup. I thought this would go away after washing a wearing several times, but it has not. It is still a wonderful bra and I still love it. I just make sure I don’t wear it under anything that is tight fitting so that the gathering/rippling won’t be seen. Read more 76 more words
If the bra fits you on your period but is a little loose the rest of the month, you could have two measurements and set that it fits for one and not the other ;)
