A good push up bra, but it seems just too wide for my frame, causing fit and comfort issues. I get slight quad boob, and the band is definitely too big You may want size at least one cup size up from your regular Deco size, maybe two if you're full on bottom.
They straps are long, and don't adjust short enough. As a result I get slight gaping in the cups when I slouch. Cups fit good, true to size. Has a very big band, size down at least one size if you can.
After hearing about the wonders of Deco, I decided to give it a try... only to be met with disappointment. Something about the way the cups fit is not right. The cups will gap unpleasantly if I don't keep my shoulders back. I also tried the 28DD, which gave me super-cleavage, but also super-armpit and back fat. I guess this Deco is just not for me...
This is my 2nd nude Rio and I can now say this for sure: This bra runs a full cup big! I thought at first that maybe my 30C nude was just an odd ball, but it isn't. Compared to other Freya bras I own the cup width and depth of this bra is more like an F cup. I'm not sure if the other colourways of this bra do the same thing but for sure the nude Rio runs a full cup big and should you source this d/c colour from ebay buy a cup smaller than what you would wear in the Arabella/Lyla/Cindy type models. Band ...is firm but not enough to size up and I can definitely say this through experience.
However, this hasn't been a loss for me and I won't be returning it. With this bra came the decision that yes I do need to keep 2 cup sizes around. Since I have grown I've realised I grew a tad more than just a cup. For 2 weeks I am an average to full E cup, for the other two weeks of my cycle I am an average F cup. At the writing of this review I have actually split my measurements into these two blocks reflect these changes. I guess when you are bigger these fluctuations do increase more as well. When I was smaller I did notice the change but it stayed within the same cup size well enough being a just barely DD right afterwards to being a full DD during.
This bra has also taught me something else. The little pooch in the top of the band between the wing and wear the strap meets in the back isn't breast tissue and the little pooch of flesh that occurs wear the straps attaches to cup isn't boob either. It occurs even when the cup on this bra is too big. I found a way to finally pull it into the cup but the second I move my arms up and bring it back down it comes back. In the end after having looked these pooches I'm complaining about are minuscule compared to others deemed to be in the right size so I will now shut up and say nothing more of it again.
Oh and this nude is still too light for me to wear with a white shirt but at least I can make use of the matching knickers I have since the 30C I have has been useless for a while. Read more 313 more words
Fit: The width of the cup was ok, but the cup itself was too baggy at the top for me. There was also some wrinkling on the sides of the bra as well. This model just didn't work for me. :\
I really like the look of this bra. The colour I bought was lime, which is a little bit greener and brighter than the photos online show. The cups are lime green with white polka dots and the top has really pretty embroidery.
Fit:
This bra actually fit really great, in the cups and the band. No poking, no gaping, no wrinkling. I really wanted to like this bra, but the problem was that it gave me a pointy shape. The bottoms of the cup look fine (natural and round), but the top was flattened and thus the pointyness.
So close! If this band wasn't so stretchy this bra would have fit. I have the Signature Plunge and this fits pretty much the same aside from the crazy huge band. I think they are essentially the same cut and the Signature Plunge fits me well. So if that style fits you but the band is too tight this one might work for you.
Tried this in 3 sizes. I was absolutely squeezed into the 28D -- the cups were almost flat. Spilled out of the 28DD as well. The 28E has a smooth line along the top of the cup but the bottom of the cup has way too much empty space. The gore is also slightly too wide, though I could live with that if the rest of it fit. Yet another Freya that is the wrong shape for me.
A happy surprise! The gore tacks, which is unusual for my close set, center full breasts. It's fairly comfortable, but on the tight side - I might have done better with a 30DD. Over time this might get better as it stretches. The tissue is contained and the lift is pretty good. I have a hard time filling out the top of my breasts and getting any kind of rounded shape - this gives a subtle rounding and a pretty good lift.
I have been looking for some bras without wires for a while now. I'm realizing my job probably won't go back to in person, at least for a long time, and I'm finding that I am wearing bralettes more than actual bras. There are not a lot of choices around for small band 'big' cup sizing so I decided to try this one again. I tried this bra in the VERY beginning of my bra journey and I liked it a lot even though it did not technically fit. I wish I could go back and tell myself that if you like it and it doesn't hurt you, ...then keep it! I was so focused on finding the EXACT PERFECT bra that I sold/swapped a few bras that I liked. This bra was one of those. Although my normal size is a 28F, I chose a 28E based on prior experience and other reviews. The cups are tall and wide and the straps are stretchy so I knew that having cups up to my chin wasn't going to work for me lol! I also knew that the band was really stretchy, but the bra I got seems nice and tight. It may be that it stretches quickly, but it feels good right now. This bra doesn't technically fit me, I get some quadding and it's too wide for my roots, but I will still probably keep it because it's comfortable and a color that matches my skin color relatively well. This is the second version of Freya Unchained that I've tried, as I tried the Unlined Plunge last year in 28DD but found it unsuitable for my shape due to its tall cups. I have recently been really into Freya's padded styles, and wanted to give this a try. I didn't expect to like it, but I actually really like how it looks and fits on me! However, there is one big problem with this style--the wires are terribly uncomfortable because they are so ridiculously firm. Unfortunately, because of this problem, I won't be keeping this bra.
This is a 4 piece cup, with a ...3 piece bottom and horizontal upper piece. It is very similar to Fearne, and measures almost the same, although this exact bra measures just slightly larger in the cup than the 28E Fearne that I tried a few months ago. From what I remember, all my 3HC Freya bras have flexible wires, but all the 4 piece cups have very hard wires (except the Escape Lace that I recently acquired). Both cup shapes fit me, but the hard wires are pretty unbearable, so I have very few 4 piece cups in my collection. Even though the band fits and is TTS, the wires end up rotating inward and dig in at the center gore and outer cup.
Right now, since I am between 28E and 28F, I am finding the cup volume a little too small for me, but it fits TTS for a 28E. The upper cup is just slightly closed off, so this cuts into my upper fullness, but it would not be a problem if it were exactly the right size. However, the cup width is fine, assuming that the wires were flexible enough to stretch horizontally. The only thing I would change is to add more room into the upper cup to fit my current size. It's a bummer that this is unwearable for me right now, because it gives a really nice rounded shape with more projection than their 3HC cuts. I also really like the appearance and styling of the bra on, as it looks a little more elevated than a standard black bra, without being too crazy. I may try this again in a 28F if I can get my hands on one.
The fabric is embroidered mesh with all over daisies. Since they are all the same color, it can be hard to see the daisies on the black colorway, but they do have a bit of shine to them thanks to the embroidery thread. The embroidery is not particularly soft, but also not scratchy. The upper edge of the cup is trimmed in black ric-rac elastic, which is a bit stiff. The band is simple black powermesh, and is comfortable and TTS. Straps are textured elastic with scalloped edges, and taper into a gentle leotard back. There's a small opalescent crystal rondelle tacked to the center gore bow, which is super petite and delicate, and the little bows are repeated at the strap attachment. This also comes in a hot pink colorway called Pop, but I think the black looks much more elegant and to my taste.
If you are projected and fine with narrow wires, then this might be a good option for you. Read more 458 more words
Honestly, I did not expect the Freya Fancies Longline to fit at all, but I decided to just try it in the name of all things Fancies, and I found it for super cheap on Amazon. Surprisingly, it fits really well, and it looks great! Too bad I’m not a longline fan, or I might find myself wearing these all the time.
The Fancies Longline seems to have the same upper cup as the Fancies Padded Half Cup, which I tried in 30DD but wasn’t sure of the cup fit due to the overly large band. Unfortunately I can’t directly compare the two because sister sizing slightly ...changes the cup proportions, but they do seem to be quite similar. However, while I found the Padded HC’s cups to be a little bit “off” on me, these are spot on. So far, the 4 piece padded cup has been a decent shape for me as long as the wires are flexible. Everything on the cup fits me well, and the wires are comfortable on me as they aren’t super stiff like the ones I’ve encountered on some other Freyas.
The cup is a very rounded version of the 4 piece cup, and I found that this gave me a really great rounded shape. The upper cup is neither too projected nor too shallow, and it doesn’t cut into my tall roots at all. Based on this I think it would definitely be suitable for even shapes with wider roots, and it can definitely work with tall roots. As these HCs tend to run wide, I don’t think it would be suitable for narrow roots.
The entire bra is made from the new, softer Fancies lace, the same quality used on the Padded HC and on the newer Fancies Plunge. The cradle and band are double lined with power mesh for a firm feel. The back has two rows of 5 hooks, and I think this is a miss as 3-4 rows of hooks would’ve been better. The band fits quite snugly and firmly on me, so I would say it is definitely TTS, though there isn’t much flexibility on the fit. Straps are the standard plain wide elastic found on the Fancies Plunge, which is so much better than the narrower quality used on the Padded HC. The center gore is trimmed with the same micro-dot ribbon bow as found on the other styles.
This style really fits me perfectly, but the reason I’m not running to stock up on this style in multiple colors is due to comfort. I just plain hate the feel of longlines, though I can appreciate the look. First, any bra that requires assistance to put on sounds like an insane proposition to me. I have very sensitive skin, and the only way to get this thing on is to hook it in the front and turn the bra around. I find the feeling of this action on my skin to be unbearable. I think this bra should’ve been designed with a side closure for easier accessibility.
Second, though the band is a perfect fit, I get very uncomfortable with compression on my ribcage as it triggers a feeling of panic, like I am going to suffocate. This isn’t a problem in normal snug bra bands, but the additional pressure on my lower ribcage is extremely uncomfortable.
Despite these two issues, I do have a few corsets, longlines, and basques in my collection. While I wouldn’t wear them regularly, they are nice to have around. I really like the fit of this bra and wish they would just chop it off at the bottom to make a normal bra version with a wider, firmer band! Sadly, the similar-looking Padded HC is much less supportive than this style due to the narrow straps and single layer powermesh band, and also doesn’t come in the same size range as this. I find myself coming back to Freya time and time again as so few other brands now produce styles in 28E. While the brand can be hit or miss, I’m very pleased this fits! Read more 576 more words
Freya Jasmine Meadow is one I've seen around and had been curious about for a while, but weirdly enough there hasn't been a single entry here on Bratabase. I decided to take the plunge when I saw the price drop on Amazon and was pleasantly pleased. This fits reasonably well, looks cute, and is very comfortable! I didn't really expect to like this bra as Freya fashion styles are so hit or mess, and I wasn't sure that the aesthetic was really my style. Happily, this worked out!
Like most other Freya printed fashion styles, this is made from the same silky soft lightweight tricot ...in a single layer for the cups. The print is a Liberty-esque small ditsy floral pattern of white and blue flowers, which is totally different from anything else in my collection, but was pretty flattering on. The cut feels pretty close to Fearne, which I bought last summer in 28DD and also liked at the time, but it's hard for me to tell because my Fearne is a different size. A comparison of the data for the two here on Bratabase seems to confirm my theory. Unlike the similar looking Crush and Jewel Garden, this bra seems to fit less projected and give more of a minimized appearance, though the measurements are similar. The upper cup is made from mesh with a little lace edge, and is quite soft, so it doesn't cut into tall roots. What makes this fit work for me is that the upper cup is short and closes off gradually, so there isn't too much room at the top that I can't fill, which is frequently an issue in Freya bras as well as some Cleo fits that don't work for me (like Kayla).
The dark color and busy pattern also makes it really hard to see any visual fit issues, but it felt ok and was very comfortable. I didn't love the appearance this gave me on its own (since it was more minimized and less lifted than I like), but with some foam pads to convert this into a lined bra, it gives a lovely rounded appearance and looks great!
The wires on my bra are standard for Freya plunge styles, but they are pretty evenly shaped instead of the J wires or even swoosh shaped wires you sometimes find. The band is somewhat curved (cut with more width at the top of the band and less at the bottom of the band to accommodate a tapered ribcage), so the only unflattering thing I found about the appearance is that it creates some visible winging at the sides of the cups where the wire channel is empty. This issue goes away with the foam inserts though, so it doesn't bother me too much. It was noticeable enough that if I had intended to wear the bra unlined, I might have returned it.
The band is made from printed powermesh in the same pattern as the cup fabric, so the print extends throughout the entire bra except the straps and mesh upper cup. The straps are wide satin with a two tone picot edge, and the solid portions of the bra are a soft cornflower/periwinkle color that is quite unique. Surprisingly, I like the center gore decoration, as it is a simple two toned bow with a round textured silver bead that I originally thought was a pearl. A sweet and classy design from Freya that is in line with the prairie trend. Jasmine Meadow is a lovely option for natural shaping and lightweight comfort that I am happy to have in my collection! This bra fits except that the cup depth at the apex is too deep for me, I could easily alter it, but I will try to sell it first. The fabic is so cute and not scratchy at all. The band is a little tight for me, but I usually wear a 30/32 band.
I kind of knew this bra wouldn't fit based on my experience with other Freya Plunge Balconies (especially the Ooh La La) and fit pictures of the same size here. But the embroidery is so pretty (florals!) and it is on sale, I just had to buy the bra and try it out.
As expected, the diagonal seam cuts into my tall roots, though not as much as the Ooh La La did. The wire is also too wide, but that is seen in all UK bras that I have tried. The gore height is very comfortable at 2 inches - that's the most my close-set breasts can stand. ...The gore width however is too big for me. It was sitting on breast tissue and flattening the inside of my breasts. The band felt snug, although the stretched band measurement is much too big for a 28 band. Freya really needs to do something about their loose stretchy band. The projection level is pretty perfect. I'm surprised my soft breasts can fit into 7.4-inch and 8.5-inch cup depths at the same time, without major quad-boob (in shallow cups) or gapping (in deep cups). I would totally have kept the bra if it didn't give me quad boobs on top and along centre, which looks like it's squeezing all my tissue into the apex for a pointy shape.
I think it's safe to say that Freya's Plunge Balconies just won't fit me. I am really going to control my spending and quit bra shopping for a while, after having bought a basic, white lined plunge bra from China (desperately need one under work clothes - my Deco Vibe in Candy is not going to work). I'm hoping to hold onto my slightly too shallow Freya Deco Vibe 28F and Comexim Ginger 3HC 60H for at least a few months. The next bra on my to-get list is the Cleo Kayla, which seems narrow and projected. If that doesn't work out, maybe I'll get an unlined plunge from Comexim, or perhaps EM. Read more 230 more words
I thought this would fit but not quite. The top is too closed and dents into my upper boob and I get wrinkling inside under the lace portion. So I'm too shallow and too FOT for this bra.
A related model, Antoinette, is a perfect shape match, albeit too small, in a size 28DD. And so I thought they were going to be the same exact cut. But I guess not quite.
I've heard great things about this bra. Learning that it is narrow and projected, something unusual for UK unlined bras, sounded like it could work for me. It looks very pretty as well with its sheerness, cute and gentle blush, and beautiful embroidery. I usually wear a 28F, but sized down to 28E in this one because I've heard it is very deep. Plus my super narrow roots was going to need the wire width of a 28E. The wire did fit somewhat perfectly at my IMF, and the depth was fine except a little too deep on my smaller breast. The gore height was also low for ...Freya's unlined plunge balcony, which is friendly for my super close-set breasts. Everything fits great on the wires and lower part, but the upper part (where the embroidery is) cuts into my tall roots, and flattens out what should've been a natural slope. My boobs looked like two cones on my chest with the upper tissue stemming from my chest in a sharp angle, from being completely flat to a sudden slope. It looked awful. I've read other reviews that says this bra is open on top for some, but for my tall roots and full-on-top breasts, it was not enough. Sadly I can't seem to find an unlined bra which is narrow, projected, open on top, and has a low gore. It's like all plunges will be closed on top. I believe it's some kind of physics. I'm disappointed this bra didn't work because of its wonderful quality and appearance. Read more 152 more words
Some of the Ewa Michalak 3DM plunges are narrow, projected, and open on top. I had success with Margot and Bezyk. Others were super closed on top though, so this cut is like playing the lottery. :/
bracrastination I've always been curious about Ewa Michalak, so I went to their website and searched for my size (60F). The only cut available is M, which according to their website means "Unpadded Small Plunge Bras in Magique cut", but it seems that all of them are lined. I also heard things about how they charge extra tax and PayPal fee, so I tried to buy something to see how much a bra actually costs, only to realise they don't even ship to my country. The whole thing is so messy, I don't know when I'll finally have the courage to buy from them!
kate166 Maybe try Comexim Donna? I have that in both 70E & 70F. And when I noticed I had some growth (in my shallow upper area), I was still able to wear the 70E, although it was technically too small (I didn't get any quadding) The only thing is, I don't know if it'll be narrow enough for you. For some reason Ewa's M bras are listed as being unpadded, but they're not.
Prettyncharmeuse It looks like it's been discontinued because I can't find it on their website :( I'm tempted to try Musetta, but I'm still confused about my size in Comexim (see my review on Ginger 3HC 60H), and I'm worried that requesting a lowered gore would make the cups more closed on top.
kate166 wow, I didn't realize they no longer have it. I have the musetta as a 3HC, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of depth on the inner parts of the cup.
kate166 Ewa Michalak makes her bands very tight. My regular UK size is 30E, but I am a 70DD (32DD) in all of her bras (and some of those fit more tightly than my UK 30Es). So, looking for 65E bras might be worth a try. Good luck with that!
Prettyncharmeuse I think 3HC is a little too shallow at the bottom for me, and lined plunge is too closed on top, so I'm really not sure if Musetta in 3HC and plunge would work for me, and they don't accept returns in a 60 band or with alterations :(
bracrastination Thank you! I looked at 65E styles and there are definitely more choices for me. However I would have to email them to ask if they ship to my country, and I'm really not optimistic about their customer service!
My shape: fairly projected, narrow-to-average width roots, tall roots, not much upper-fullness, soft tissue, splayed.
How this bra fits me: the band is pretty firm and TTS for a Freya bra. It only has one hook per column and only three columns, which is necessary for the gateway back - and very pretty - but something to bear in mind if you're a smaller band size or if you need more support. I'm small busted so as long as the fabric of the cups is supportive I'm fine.
I find the wires noticeably firmer than Freya wires usually are.
The cups close off sharply and do cut into my tall roots ...a lot, but I bought this bra because it looks pretty and I am a child about things like that and also my husband likes it. Loosening up the straps helps and the cutting in doesn't show under clothes. I have also discovered that, tall roots be damned, my soft tissue really wants a horizontal section without give to hold everything in place. I would say this bra is less forgiving on tall roots than the Freya Fearne and its sisters (which are also not perfect, btw, just better) and more forgiving that all other Freya plunge styles I have tried.
The projection and lift are just perfect. This bra does not give me a pointy shape - I look gently rounded with a soft peak. Very natural, very pretty. The cup construction does a good job at pulling all my tissue forward.
The lace fabric looks and feels great. Comfy. It's firm, but not scratchy.
I'll need to widen the wires on my bigger side (measurements I added are pre modification ofc) but I bought this knowing that. I tend more to be a 28F, but Freya Fs are almost always too deep for me for at least 20 days of every month !
Edited to add, the straps are stretchy. They move about on my shoulders, they feel like they will probably stretch out fast. I don't know if that's true for larger cupsizes, but if you need solid straps I would absolutely check first. Read more 243 more words
Is the cup fabric stretchy at all? I'm looking for one that at least the top portion of the cups are stretch lace. Is this like that?
moriko It isn't stretchy at all I'm afraid. The Panache Ava plunge in blush has a similar aesthetic and the upper portion of the bra is stretch lace - the band on that one runs slightly big and the wires slightly wide, but other than that its fit is similar (lots of room in the bottom of the cup and fairly deep at the apex, too).
Oh, moriko, if you need narrow cups with room at the bottom and stretch lace up top, you could try the Bravissimo Mia bra. The gore is wider than Panache's gores are, so no good for close-set breasts. I'd say the cups run a smidge small, so perhaps size up if you try this one.
This is not meant for tall roots at all. I also got it too small, a 28F would have been a better fit but I still found the bra very comfortable. I would recommend it to short-rooted ladies who don't necessarily want a very rounded shape. I am tempted to buy this in a bigger size just because of how comfortable it was even though it's not the right shape.
Congratulation for a good fit! I have had one of this in white, but it was too shallow for me, especially at the cup top.
