All I can say is Wow! This is a wonderfully fitting bra. I have to say it's much prettier in person, as I wasn't very impressed by any of the images online. But it could be that the incredible fit is influencing me in some way. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> This bra would be good for shallow breasts with a wide and/or tall root. Largely invisible under shirts, and the narrow straps are perfect for tank tops. I'm really in love! This bra has a molded cup that's overlain by a stretchy mesh. The mesh is edged in a soft stretch lace. The wings are made of a very pretty lace, and I was surprised by the firmness of the band despite its stretchy material. The one drawback is that the lace edging along this cups is a little bulky, and is visible under some t-shirts.
This s the best one I've tried so far. I'm a little concerned that it's denting in to my side on the armpit, but it's the least-worst at this. The gore feels better. Cups are nice and soft. My saggier right breast has a tiny bit of space at the top, but not as dramatic as many others I've tried.
A very soft, comfortable bra. Band size is great (my underbust is 29.5 loose, 28.5 tight).Though there's a little wrinkling on top with the smaller breast, the cup shape doesn't make it that bad. I find the wire isn't as poke-y while slouching as other bras. Edit: after trying more bras, I concluded that this band size is actually a bit large and I probably need a 30DDD in this bra. This was the first bra in a band smaller than 34 that I'd ever tried, which is why I overestimated the fit. But I'll probably still be wearing this one.
So this is the bra I used to live in when I thought I was shallow. I know it's not recommended for projected breasts, but honestly I may not care. Theres about a finger width of space at the bottom of the cup between the wire and my IMF, and the bottom of the cup puckers a bit. Probably due to being too shallow so its pushed down a bit. But it's one of the few plunges I can get to work. The wires are also a bit wide on the side. Wear the top of molded portion sits near the strap pulls away a bit, but not ...terribly noticeably. I remember it being fairly comfortable, though I was wearing 34DD previously. I tried that on, and similar to my DD/E dilemma in the BMs, I can wear a DD, but I have to be very careful with the scoop and swoop or I end up falling out the middle. I may have to get both and wear them a bit to decided.
Reasons I'm thinking of keeping it despite it being top shallow include: it's still pretty comfy, its readily available in a variety of colors, unlike BMs I can wear it with sleeveless tops, it looks good under clothes.
Reasons I'm thinking of ditching it: now that I know better I'm definitely more aware of the lower wire placement being off (it's not uncomfortable but its noticeable), I may be better off in a 34DD after some settling (will have to wait and see), my eyes go straight to the bump/wrinkle in the bottom of the cup and it bugs me, even though others might not even notice! So when measuring this I realized the band, even though its stretchy, really doesn't stretch much before the wires start warping!! Maybe I need to try a 36 band...
I have that same bra and color and the bottom of the cup doesn't have that shape. Definitely go for a different size. Sorry I can't say if it's cup or band. But ditch is my vote
Because it's too shallow for me I get some degree of that empty space unless I go small enough to be spilling out. 🤷‍♀️ Just something I'll have to deal with if I stick with the bra!
I also really love the look of this bra, it sorta does the same to me (slides down). I think if you really like the style, then keep it. But there might be other options in a smoother cup you can try too that won’t slide down as much! Have you tried the Panache Cari? It’s still sorta wide, but maybe you will like the fit better!
Cari.... is that a spacer bra? I tried a 36DD in store yesterday and it was better. Even though this band is stretchy is starts stretching the wires pretty quickly, so the fit is better with a bigger band I think. I'll check out the Cari! One of my fave things about this is the lace overlay helps hold down the molded part so it has a forgiving fit.
Yes, the spacer foam! I feel like it has more projection at the wire and it’s looks smooth under shirts. It can also be used racerback which is a good bonus. There’s also the Simone Perele 65F - Simone Perele » Caresse 3d Plunge Bra (12A316) This one might have less projection at the wire, but a bonus is that the gore is low. I’ve had mine for over a year and the bra looks great. Really good materials and straps!
I meant to say, the gore on the Simone Perele is lower and softer than the Panache Cari, so if you’re sensitive to that, you might prefer this one!
braluv if my most common UK size is a 34E do you think the Simone Perele is true to size and I should try that size first? I found some on ebay for a decent price but wanted thoughts on sizing!
So technically a 34E UK (6th cup size), would be 34F. However, I do think they run a little big and I went down one cup size when I purchased mine (I've only tried two styles though, maybe someone else can give better advice). So I would say try it if you can return it!
A bra that fits me! I went from wearing a boob hammock (36DD US) to a very comfortable 34G in the Natori Comfort Chic. I am close set, pendulous and have wide roots. I have never tried plunge bras until recently, thinking, with bigger breasts I would just fall out every time I moved. Not so! If you're close set, this might be the best option for you. The fabric is very stretchy so the bra moves with me.We'll see how it holds up over time. I was worried about the narrow straps, but they don't seem to be a problem and they don't fall off my shoulders. The underwires measure 11.25 inches, following the curve, and 6.25 inches straight across. I feel very supported and very good about the profile this bra gives me. I will definitely buy more!
How are you measuring your cup width? That number doesn't seem right.... you "underwire straight" measurement more resembles the cup width.
Good catch, LeProfessor! You're absolutely right. I updated the cup width.
XDD I was like "DAMN THATS ONE WIDE BRA!" Could you imagine a bra with a cup NINE INCHES wide!! I sooo badly want to try Natori's fuller fit or any of Natori's bras....except padded ones. Even though they're cute. I just really dislike padded bras. But the price! The price burns holes in my retina's! lol
Desperation! I tried on a Prima Donna bra that was fabulous, but the ONE bra was $138. Crazy! So, I've actually been looking into sewing my own but have not yet taken the leap.
I think that's why we see so few Prima Donna bras on BtB. Few can afford the price tag, & most aren't wanting to risk a fit fail at that price.
What a great find! I tried this bra on a couple years ago before I knew what my real size was and was not impressed. After a fitting, I rediscovered this gem and I love it! Great for wide set shallow breasts, but the cup fits small, so size up! I am wearing a 30DDD and it’s perfect https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
The fabric of this bra is very soft. It doesn't show under t-shirts, but it's cuter than the usual t-shirt bra. Feels comfy too. Cup size runs small. Band is true to size. Wires are wide enough for my wide breasts.
I just bought this bra after getting sized for the first time at Nordstrom. I'm so soso unbelievably in love with this bra. It's the most comfortable underwire bra I've ever worn.
Some of my favorite things about this bra: It's what I'm calling "semi-moulded." It offers the support of a moulded cup, with the freedom and fit of an unlined cup (not to mention it helps cover hard nipples). It has 3 rows of hooks! Huzzah! The lace at the cleavage is beautiful and does not pucker under clingy fabric. Speaking of fabric, the fabric of the bra is so silky and soft. I was petting my boobs without realizing it ...for 15 minutes before my boyfriend asked me what I was doing. Lol. It comes in multiple colors!
I'll try to update this as I wear it in but right now, I'm absolutely glowing with happiness over this bra.
Update 2/23/17: This is still the most amazing bra. I feel like this is the epitome of how a bra should fit. It's so comfortable. I love it so much that I bought the same style in grey! Read more 73 more words
Thanks for reviewing this bra! Congrats on the success. I want to try one now. Also, I find so few Natori reviews in my size range. Any chance you could add measurements?
Sorry I thought this was a different model! There are measurements available. I tried this bra when I was sized out, but I think it might fit now. Hopefully I can find it again.
Well, to my (kind of) amazement, this is my first Feathers bra to fit perfectly. I recently went down about a cup or so, and I just had a feeling that a 32C would fit over a 32D. Luckily someone ended up listing this as a give away, because I've wanted to try another but I haven't wanted to risk spending the price that they retail for just to try one. It also isn't feasible for me to just take a trip over to Nordstrom again just to size myself, as I've moved out into the boonies and I don't have my car/a parking spot at my new place. So, ...I'm super thankful that this popped up, and that it actually worked!
I did not want another 30 band in this, regardless of having tried a 32DD with a crazy big band that rode up; the 30 bands in these bras have been really uncomfortable for me. One even measured about 27-28" in a 30 band. In this one, I don't have any issues with the band riding up or digging in. I also don't have any of my previous issues with cup puckering on top or bottom. This bra has a width that actually works for me though, and the depth does also. I suspect that as the sizes increase, the bra gets more wide and shallow? Either that or I am becoming just a little more shallow.
As for the cup separation, it is still mildly too separate for my boobs, but not to the extent that it makes me quad at all. I am considering trying to sew it up to make the cups closer and give me an even better fit, but as of now, it doesn't bother me too much. After trying on the Claudette Dessous in 30E, I did notice that I have lost a little bit of center tissue, so this could also explain why the cup separation isn't as problematic as I'm used to.
So about the bra, it has fully adjustable straps, a lace band, about 1.4" cup separation, 5.2" cup width, and I believe about 7.2" cup depth. The width and depth seem perfectly fine to me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_eek.gif" alt="o_O" /> This about matches my best fitting bras, which have 5-5.3" width and 7.3" depth, except they are very centered. I'm happy, considering I've wanted this bra to work for so long. The cups give a nice, rounded shape, and the mesh "sling" overlay on the cups is very comfortable where it hits on top. I've been wanting a nice fitting black bra for a while, so I'm happy =)
Edit: After wearing twice I realized that the separation did start to make me quad throughout the day. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Ahh what a shame. I love the Feathers bra so much. I guess this is just another Claudette Dessous for me. Maybe one day a narrow, close set, projected Feathers bra will be made. One can dream.
Edit 2: Just wanted to note that I altered the gore to make the wires overlap. The bra actually fits MUCH better now, but I feel a bit insecure about my bigger, left side having so little coverage. Think I ought to try this in a 32D or 30DD and alter the gore again, but for now this is the only thingcompatible with my lower tops. I think, because of the shape and consistency of my breasts, I may just be compatible with various types of bras (shallow and narrow or projected and narrow), though obviously projected and narrow are closer to my original shape. The Feathers in this size isn't wide like the others I've tried (30DDD,32DD), so keep that in mind
Glad you found what you were looking for! This was my first bra I got after I learned my correct size. I think you're right in that it does get wide and shallow as you size up. I have it in 30E, and it's pretty wide and shallow. I need to list it on here as I don't wear it anymore. Even in the wrong fit it was super comfy, I recommend it highly! Looks great on you :)
I'm glad this worked out for you. I am wide and shallow and although on paper this bra should fit me...it doesn't. I so want a Natori Feathers bra to fit, I keep trying them on when I can find them saying, "maybe this time it will fit".
Flutershie Thank you! And yeah, I had the 30E as well and I loved it. Such a nice bra :)
@thelittleone Thank you :) Aw, yeah I understand that. I'm not supposed to work well with shallow + wide bras, but I wanted this and Chantelle C Chic to work so badly for so long :( I'm glad I finally found something that works in this, but I don't think I'll ever have luck with the Chantelle. Good luck in your search for one though! It's a tricky bra IMO
My shape: mid-height center-set FOB teardrop with very wide and tall shallow roots and allover fullness that make me functionally even, lots of immediate projection (never yet found enough!) but moderate overall projection, and firm tissue that fights back when pushed around.
This review is for the Vivid Violet colorway.
The color is very bright, and definitely on the orchid/magenta side of things. It's super soft! The molded cup liner and the straps are lovely to handle, and the bra is really comfy on.
The cups are pretty shallow underneath, which means the bra shifts down by almost an inch to try and accommodate my fullness, and that also leaves some ...space between the outside edge of the wire under my arm. The cup is also kind of short, and though the upper edge doesn't cut in and is a pretty good (shallow) angle for me, the seam between the sheer tricot and the lace trim definitely does dig in and I get some pretty obvious and uncomfortable quadding.
The gore is lovely and low and tacks just fine, but I think the cups might be a hair too wide-set for me, which makes the quad-boob problem worse. I can't feel it while wearing it, though, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I think I could stand for the wings to come up higher, especially because the wires don't take up the whole channel. The wires are almost the right shape curve for me (I need shallow curves; most wires are too steeply curved for me), and otherwise wide enough for my fullness.
Like all Natoris, the band is stretchy, but this 30 fits alright. There is a tiny bit of bulging, but that's because it's sheer powernet or tricot, and I always notice the same thing happening with other similarly constructed bands. Otherwise it's tight enough and doesn't shift. Read more 199 more words

This review is for the Rouge-Tulle hot pink colorway. (like holy moly, is this bright)
While wearing this bra, I only noticed that the cups seemed to be too small on top, which was interesting because the wires sat exactly where they should in my IMF and Natori cups have always been somewhat lacking on the immediate projection. The underwires are also exactly the right shape for my ...IMF, which is cool and kind of rare.
The photos show that the cups are obviously too shallow, though, and I definitely have quadding because of it. There's plenty of space right near the wires all the way around otherwise. The wires also seem a hair too narrow, but they might actually be just right if my fullness had somewhere else to go. Admittedly, it is a little hard to tell any more because the cup is moulded.
The band, while characteristically stretchy like Natori always is, was tight enough and stayed in place. The stretchiness does mean I'd probably shift to the second set of hooks pretty soon, but again, no big deal.
The only other qualm I might have is that I noticed marks where the straps appear to have rubbed around the top outside edge of the cup. I didn't feel anything while wearing it, though.
I ordered a 30H out of curiosity to see how different the fit is. This one will have to go back, though. Read more 167 more words
This bra is lovely in appearance and seems well made. Blessedly the underwire does not cut into my underarms, but I do worry about this over time. The housing material of the underwire is not padded, or reinforced much in the underarm area. I've had the underwire poke a hole near the underarm end when they are like this in the past. The cups fit exceptionally well, and my breasts stay put with long hours of use. Often with molded bras I have the problem of having tissue bump over the top edge with long-term wear or a lot of bending over. Not a problem with this one. ... The only downside is the straps do start to slip a bit over time, and I do have to adjust them back onto my shoulders. It is not an issue of needing to tighten them, they just sit further apart on my shoulders than is ideal. My job requires a lot of movement, so I occasionally need to adjust them back into place. When I am at home or on a day off, I don't really have this problem though. Read more 80 more words
I typically only wear t-shirt bras, but this is great "special occasion" bra. The lace is gorgeous, as is the cut-out detail by the front strap. I love having an actual plunge neck bra too! I wish the outer edge of the underwire were slightly firmer/higher, but that's probably because I'm used to t-shirt bras.
When I was trying to determine my size (I'm typically a 30 band with DD or DDD), I had previously ordered this online in a 30DD and then returned it because I had the "orange in a glass" effect. My local bra shop said that Natori tends to run a little small and kindly recommended that I try this on in a larger band size (32DD), which was a much better fit.
Ah, the Natori Feathers. Wide and shallow, they said, and wide and shallow it was. This bra is soooo wide. There's like, a full inch between the wire and my IMF. I don't particularly mind wide wires actually, and these are quite comfy and feel secure, but the cups being all the way out there makes boob-in-cup placement a tad difficult. This problem is only exacerbated by the fact that horizontal apexes of the cups are really far apart (even though the gore isn't particularly wide). The bra's shallowness in terms of immediate projection and at the apex aren't problematic, but what is a problem is how much ...it cuts in in the center - I don't consider myself to have a lot of center fullness, just close together boobs, and the Feathers does nothing to contain them. My breasts are firm enough that spilling isn't an issue, but, the quadding bothers me, even though you can't see it in pictures.(Edit: the underwires float near the gore, which I suppose is due to the shallowness. auuhgh.)
I do appreciate that the sides of the cups (not the wings) come up really high because I don't mind my armpit running into the bra once in a while in return for the bra not sliding back and forth over my ToS & neighboring tissue.
Well, aesthetics. I'm really fan of this look, so it's a shame it doesn't fit me that well. The feathery part is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the way it runs along the band. That being said, the band feels really delicate when I put it on, so I might appreciate a bit more heft in that department. The hardware is gold (colored), very pretty.
I bought this bra used from a fellow Bratabase user. Why have I waited so long to try this?! It's everything I've been looking for! This bra is an absolute must-have to every woman's bra collection! I love it! In fact, I got it in the mail over 14 hours ago, tried it on and still haven't taken it off yet!! It feels like a comfy sports bra, I can def sleep in this.
Other than the band being stretched out from regular wear, this bra fits perfectly. I was looking for a simple, plunge type t shirt kind of bra but without all the padding or moulded ...cups - just something soft, lightly lined and seamless. This bra gives my girls an amazing shape without any bulkinness or stiffness and looks good under shirts (it is lightly lined tho so the nips can show thru, but that's ok). The wires fit perfectly, just enough width, just the right height and the gore sits low enough for me. It really doesn't even feel like a bra.
I'm glad I was able to try this bra out so I know now that it is def worth spending the money on a brand new one (and I've found them fairly cheap on eBay, in all sorts of different colors). My only complaint is that Natori doesn't make this in a smaller band size...a 28G in this would be perfect! But I can def swing the 32DDD. I HIGHLY recommend this bra!!! Read more 141 more words
This is one of the first bras I purchased (or haven't returned) since finding out my correct bra size. I have narrow shoulders and separated breasts. I find this bra does a good job of providing some cleavage while still looking relatively smooth under a stretchy tee shirt. It stays on my shoulders without slipping and without digging into my underarms, as I find to be the biggest problem I have with so many bras. most "seem" to have wide set straps. I think the difference is that the the very top of the cup on this one turns inward slightly instead of outward towards the my armpit. ...The straps are fully adjustable which is nice.
About the only negatives I can find with this bra are that the lace, although pretty, comes up fairly high on the straps making this the wrong bra for many wider style neck openings. For instance it looks great under a tee but I cannot wear it with a tank top. Lastly the band only stretches to 30", at the very most, and is quite tight on my 29" frame. (It is still new so it may relax some - For now I am using it with an extender and it is working quite well). Read more 103 more words
I think this is ideally a bra for someone more shallow and wide set than I am. As much as I tried, I just couldn't get it to sit any less than an inch below my inframammary fold, due to the bra's lack of projection and a too-wide gore. So pretty though!
Fantastically fitting for my shallow breasts. No wrinkling. Very comfortable. Owned it a little over a month now, wear usually half of the week and another one the other half and no cons yet for it. Fabric is soft, the lace is not itchy. It's a very nice every day bra for every day wear. I got it a cream color, a lighter than nude. In other brands/sizes I also fit a 30C very nicely.
What I like: - it's a great, basic, t-shirt bra, gives a nice shape and looks good under shirts. - it's comfortable (the cups fit me well, nothing digs in or pokes where it shouldn't - I got it in a cute burgundy color.
What I don't like: - the cup is very full-coverage, which is not my first choice.
So when measuring this I realized the band, even though its stretchy, really doesn't stretch much before the wires start warping!! Maybe I need to try a 36 band...
